IPad and service providers
I am going to buy an iPad and want to add it to my existing service plan with AT&T. I will be switching to Verizon in November though when my 2 year contract with the iPhone is up. Will there be any compatibility problems with my iPad when I change service providers from AT&T to Verizon?
Also, does anyone know if I can just add iPad service to my iPhone service with AT&T - I don't have to sign up for a new contract for a long time, do I? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your experiences!
You can't use an AT&T iPad on Verizon, or vice versa - they use different hardware and are not compatible.

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it ? You might be able to get warranty service in Egypt for your iPad, but the warranty includes :

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
As it's wifi-only you should have a better chance of it being serviced under warranty, but there are no guarantees, it might depend upon the repairer.

Our picture transfer from iphone, ipads and or Sony DSC-W150 camera ended when we changed int providers from xfinity to frontier. All attempts to troubleshoot have not corrected problem. The only changes to the system that was functioning properly are Fios int service and router. All apple components are using the fios router. Can anyone Help get us up and running again? Thanks

If WiFi, have you changed the WiFi encryption method or WiFi password? If so, each device need the new information netered into it manually to get onto your "new" WiFi Network. -
I'm staying at my house in Peru, South America. From my PC laptop I can see my neighbor's wifi service network, but I also have my mini iPad and I can not figure out why I can't get any wifi connection from my area. Is there a setting I need to do?
Yes, I did try to go on my settings>wifi and was waiting for any wifi signals to pick up, but nothing shows up. But on my PC I get a whole list of networks to choose from. Regarding my neighbor, I already have her password that is why I was able to get it on my PC, the problem is that the mini Ipad is not picking any signal neither can it locate me when I go to maps.

my nephew lend me his iPad and I have wi-fi service @ home, I get the wi-fi icon on top of iPad, it's activated but when I open Safari to go online it ask me for the password which I have and type in. When you go to Settings > WiFi and see your network name does it have a padlock icon to the right of the network name? If so it is a secured network with a password.
How did you connect to your network from the iPad? From Settings > Wifi? Was a network password requested? Was it accepted?
If you touch the ">" to the right of your network name what do you see for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS? -
I have a new Ipad and was trying to sync from Itune what is on my Iphone. It keeps saying "Ipad can't be used Apple Moble device service isn't started". ???? help I then tried to connect my phone to Itunes and it is saying the same thing??? Help what is going on?
Right click 'computer' in your PC/laptop (whichever). Click 'Manage', then 'Services and Applications', then 'Services', you should see 'Apple Mobile Device' running or stopped. If you couldn't find 'Apple Mobile Device', it means you haven't download iTunes into your PC/laptop (whichever).

the iPad is totally new to me. I can't seem to do anything with my Apple ID. As the title says, I am trying to download the Facebook app to my new iPad and I keep getting an error. It tells me to sign in using my existing Apple ID, which I enter, then when I put in the password I get ConnectionManager::invoke::Failed to find service connection url. Cancel or Retry. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rebooting - Failed
Logging in to iTunes - Failed
Logging into itunes Store - Failed
Logging into iTunes Genius - SUCCESS I woulnd't have thought it would make a difference but it does Then just log into the 'other' services with iTunes.

Changing Service Providers and will lose email -- help!

I'm switching service providers and cannot take my email address with me. 2 Questions:
1. If I stop synching with my current provider, will NO email show up in my email box for that account, or will it save the current emails.
2. How do I extract the email addresses/address book so that I can send a mass email to my contacts that i'm changing my email address?

Generally speaking, witnin 30 days this will be so.

Those should remain in AB, as all eMails should depending on account type... is this old one POP or IMAP? -
I have the new IPad and am using it with the verizon mifi2200 wireless and when i am using apps the location services cannot find me wifi is working and location services is on this does not happen when i am using a wifi that is at my office or in hotels does anyone know anything about this because verizon dosn't?

Thinking of purchasing and IPad 2. I have hot spot 4-G with verizon, but only get 3-G service in area. Is it compatible with iPad, and wnat do you nave to do to activate?
My understanding and usually my experience is that connecting to a wireless hotspot is just like connecting to your home's wireless internet connection.

1. Not at least until 2012/13 due to the 5 year exclusivity agreement between Apple & AT&T
2. Because AT&T agreed to Apple's demands for control and revenue sharing. The other three networks were too greedy. Plus Verizon & Sprint have strikes against them because they don't use the world-wide GSM standard. You can't use their phones in Europe, for example.

If you want to use an iPhone in Europe, you can get a reasonable plan from AT&T, or possibly rent/buy an iPhone in Germany where T-Mobile IS the exclusive provider. -
How can I Sync a folder (which contains all types files, sub folders and weighs some gigs) through wifi or USB ( and not using cloud services) between my New Ipad and Win 7 PC? Any apps available?

Ipad and Laptop yearly service
Who do I talk to at Apple. When I bought my ipad and laptop nobody asked me if I wanted to join the Apple training system yearly. I understand you can only sign up when you buy them but was not aware of that and was not asked.
