IPad IOS 5 Bluetooth Pairing Problem

I have iPad 1 with Brookstone Bluetooth Keyboard. Since upgrading to IOS 5, every time I turn off the iPad it loses the pairing with the keyboard and I have to re-pair the device. This worked fine before upgrading to IOS 5. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

If you called AppleCare they would have you do a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. If that did not solve the issue they would have you backup the iPad and then restore it to its factory settings. Be sure to transfer any purchases to your computer before restoring the iPad.

It may be necessary to turn on the aptX codec via Bluetooth Explorer -> Utilities -> Special Options
That did the trick for me.
The bluetooth explorer used to be available by pressing option then the bluetooth button, but now its bundled seperatly either with xcode or here :https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=bluetooth%20explorer

HT201205 iPad 2 bluetooth connectivity problems

I recently purchased a Toshiba TY-SP1 bluetooth portable speaker for my iPad 2 with iOS 6.1.3....the iPad 2 does not recognize this device at all. I have a ZAGG bluetooth keybd connected with no problem. I've tried an iPhone5 and it connects successfully. I can also connect with my BlackBerry Bold 9900.
I tried another iPad 2 and it has the same problem of not recognizing the TY-SP1 device.
Toshiba says they are able to connect to an iPhone 4S successfully, but are not able to test with an iPad 2.
Does anyone know if the iPad 2 has a limitation on the bluetooth version that iPhone 4S/5 do not have ?

Thanks...I took this device camping where there are no wifi signals or cell service...but no luck.
As mentioned previously, my BB Bold & iPhone5 connect easily to this device....my iPad 2 doesn't even recognize this particular Toshiba device model. Toshiba seems to feel it is an Apple issue.
I've disabled my bluetooth keybd and rebooted the iPad, however, same result.

Ipad ios 4.2 Problem (21)

So i synced my ipad to my computer and at first it wouldn't update to ios 4.2 but i eventually got it to update. i then started to organize all my apps into folders and i was playing with the multitasking when it showed the itunes logo and the usb cord telling me to sync the ipad like it had when i first bought it.
so i tried to sync it and it would say that it had found a ipad in recovery mode and that i must restore it before i could sync it. so i clicked ok and clicked restore. it then asked me if i was shure that i want to restore factory settings and that all my media and other data would be erased. i clicked restore and update because i had just backed up all my stuff on my computer. it then show that it is extracting the software and when it is done it says that it is verifying the restart with apple. then an error pops up and says that the ipad could not be restored because of an unknown error and it shows (21). i've tried restarting my computer and it still wont sync. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

i too had this problem. the loading bar kept partially completing itself and never finishing so, after turning off by pressing the sleep button and home button together and holding. finally, i unplugged the unit from the mac, let it partly do 'its thing' and then forced a shut down then, re plugged it in and when it turned itself on upon connection to the computer, it seems to work fine. so far so good anyways! good luck folks

Is there anyway to bypass the iOS bluetooth pairing code?

I am trying to make a bluetooth button that activates Siri, but in order to pair it with my phone, it needs a code. I cannot enter the code because the button does not have a number pad on it. Is there any way to bypass the code?

You can reset the password using your install disc.

BB 9930 Bluetooth Pairing Issues with 2011 Prius

I'm having a bluetooth pairing problem with my Blackberry 9930 staying connected to my 2011 Toyota Prius. It pairs fine and then some time later it will dial randomly or disconnect or freeze up. Toyota says it is a common problem with the new Verizon Blackberry phones. Went to the Blackberry forum and there are plenty of posts where the same problem is occuring on a variety of late model autos with the 9930 and no response from RIM.
Is there a patch out there to address this issue?? Is Verizon addressing this issue with RIM??

I have the same problem with my 2011 GMC Yukon Denali (great truck BTW). I go to make a call and it dials out and connects with the end user but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. I manually turn off the bluetooth connection on my phone wait for the disconnected from Yukon message and then turn it back on. Once I get the connected to Yukon message, I can place the call and it works fine. Then randomly, it'll stop again and I'll go through the same procedure. It's a pain in the neck (or other body parts)!
When will Verizon (RIM) have a fix out for this? I've seen it in quite a few posts on the Internet so this problem seems pretty widespread.

E66 bluetooth pairing with BMW

I have a BMW 6 series and recently bought the new E66. I could not find any posting on bluetooth pairing problems with this model. It is the same classic issue with phonebook.
I installed Contact Download Application" and made sure it was running on the phone. I paired the phone and car and nothing worked even with one contact.
I had Sony Ericsson before and had no problem.
I would be very thankful for your help

I called on Nokia support and they diagnosed the problem, but unfortunately they did not provide the solution. The new E66 is running on 2.0 Bluetooth platform while my older phones are onm 1.2 so either I change my 6 series or the E66. I am sure you know my decision :-)

Problem pairing iphone5 to iphone4s or ipad via bluetooth

Hi, I was trying to pair my iphone5 with my iphone4s or my new ipad via bluetooth, but it seems like they can't find each other. My iphone4s able to find the new ipad and vice versa, so the problem must be with the iphone5. Anybody know how to resolve this issue? Many thanks.

I am having a similar experience. Since upgrading my Ipad 2 to iOS 8 and then iOS 8.0.2 I have not been able to use wifi consistently and it is very frustrating. I can no longer watch any video because the wifi shuts down and won't come back without a complete reboot of the iPad. And forget about consistent bluetooth! My ipad worked perfect before the "upgrade" to iOS 8 and beyond but now it is really worthless. I have spent a lot of time and have tried every fix that I have read about online and NOTHING has corrected the problems created by the upgrade. After spending a lot of time trying to resolve this I am certain the problem is the buggy "upgrade" but I feel like no one at Apple is listening. I have always loved Apple products but this rotten Apple experience is making me think about exploring what else is out there. Apple folks, I recommend getting this fixed quick or your stockholders won't be smiling!

Also, iOS devices will not pair with any other iPhone or iPad as you have found out. They are designed to be paired with bluetooth keyboards, stereos, headsets and, for thethering only, phones and computers.

IPad finds bluetooth Altec speaker but will not pair

I had been using the Altec Lansing in motion Soundblade bluetooth speaker with my iPad with no problem. I brought it on vacation and paired it with another device, and now the iPad will not pair with it. It finds it when it searches, but when it says "not Paired" in the box next to the device number. When I choose it to pair, it thinks for a few seconds and goes back to not paired. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have the other device that it was paired with? Sometimes you have to un-pair a device before you can pair with another. For the iPad you do this by douching the button that say forget this device. Removing the battery from the speakers for a little while may also work.

For what purpose are you trying to pair them?
Only supported peer to peer apps such as photo transfer or multiplayer games can connect to other iOS devices via Bluetooth. You initiate the connection inside the app running on both devices.

IOS 4.3 Bluetooth Headset Problem

Does anyone have this similar problem?
My bluetooth headset (handsfree) disconnects intermittently every few minutes (and auto reconnects in 10 to 20 secs). The "Personal Hotspot" option was disabled as I thought it was interferring with the bluetooh connection.
But after some trial and error, I disabled the Wi-Fi option, and it solved the bluetooth disconnection problem.
Prior to IOS 4.2, I have never encountered this problem. Does anyone know how I can downgrade back to IOS4.2?

After upgrading to iOS 4.3, within a few days later my Jabra WAVE encountered problems with its Bluetooth connectivity. I had no problems pairing with both my iPhone4 and my MacBook (aluminium uni-body model). Unfortunately, I can't control my Jabra WAVE's volume control any more which was clearly shown on my iPhone4. Worse of all, I can hear the caller's voice but not vice versa.
I thought my Jabra WAVE was faulty, and I tested it on Skype via my MacBook. To my surprise it worked flawlessly. I've a hunch that iOS 4.3 is still very buggy, and Apple iOS engineers haven't rectified lots of these bugs since the last version.
This is a terrible pain for everyone who's upgraded to iOS 4.3. Bummer
