  • My iPad screen is blue and blank. It will not respond to restarting

My iPad screen is blue and blank. It will not respond to restarting. The apple logo does not appear. The screen switches from a dark blue (as if it's on) to black (as if it's off). But will not reset and will not turn off. Any advice?

    Because you forgot the passcode?
You have to restore the device using iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
You may need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.
But ...if you are saying that the slide to unlock bar is not working and this has nothing to do with the iPad being disabled .... Reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Bad Screen Laptop Screen - showing blue lines instead of black

I have an old laptop HP Pavilion DV7-1448dx, the screen shows blue lines instead of black. I tried using TV as a monitor and it doesnt have any problem, it only shows on the laptop. I replaced the LCD screen with a brand new screen but it still shows the same problem. I attached the pictures of what my screen looks like. It only shows this on the black color and the others are ok. Pls help!

    @luv2travl ,
Hello and welcome to the HP support forum.  Thank you for posting about your display issue.
It sounds as if the RGB output of the graphics card has become a bit off in your case.  You have replaced the screen so the output that supplies the LCD from the graphics card is the issue.
As you stated on a VGA output to a TV it looks normal. Therefor it isnt the card totally having the problem.
Here is a link you can check out on display issues.
    Display Quality Issues
Here is a link to your systems Maintenance and Service guide as well.  One thing you may want to check is the actual cable that connects the screen to the motherboard.  This is the easiest and cheapest part to work with.
If you replace the connection cable from the motherboard to the monitor this may fix the issue.

  • My ipad screen is blue

My iPad screen is like a dark blue-ish color. the screen will not come on. when I reset it, the apple will show up, but it has think blue lines running across, and when the apple goes off, then screen cuts off again. This is a new iPad, never been used, never been dropped. i just took it out the box and it is having these issues. The screen is blank at all times, with that blue screen

I also had same problem alternating with a blank blue sceen following 2 & 1/2 foot drop two days ago. Tried bobseufert's and dwfang's cure; took it out of its case and gave it one firm "whack" on its back with my hand. Cured! Thank you SO much! Maybe we who are coordinationally challenged should form our own discussion community.

  • Iphone 5S ramdomly restarts, turns off itself, screen shows blue screen sometimes

I am having problem with my iPhone 5S since Tuesday. The phone restarts itself while using like during making calls or surfing internet, the phone turns off automatically and sometimes shows blue screen. I called apple support and they told me to connect my iPhone to iTunes and they had me reset everything like factory resetting and stuff like that. After we did that the phone started working but very next day again I started having same problem, my phone completely turned off by itself and I couldn’t turned it on by pressing power button so I went to apple store at Grand Central made an appointment and I waited there like 45 minutes for my turn. I explained everything and the guy from genius bar he pressed menu button and the power button together and boom… the phone was back on. He checked the phone and says nothing wrong with the phone and I told him everything about the issues. He said if problem happens again come back and we will replace your phone as I recently bought this IPhone and is still under warranty. I came back home and again my phone started acting up…same problem you never know when your phones gonna be turned off….somebody calls you don’t hear nothing funny part is those people who are calling me says phone keeps ringing you don’t pick up. So I made an appointment today I went back to Grand Central apple store, I explained everything today in detail and told them I am using I phone since the time when Iphone 3G came in and I have other iphones too at home and none of them had this kind of problem before. I am really upset with my phone, it's giving me hard time. The guy checked the phone and said phone is working fine nothing wrong with it. Now what I am gonna do? I said please give me replacement phone ‘cause I think there is something wrong with this phone hardware, firmware whatever…He said he can’t, he thinks I am lying. Why should I waste my time going there back and forth after work when you are so tired from your job? Can anyone please suggest what could be the problem?? How to deal with this problem? Thank you

Call in again and explain the situation.  Ask to speak with a supervisor.  There are things they can do to document and confirm your issue that way you can get it serviced.  Just be sure before returning to the store, you have a case number from the call where they documented to service the device.  This process sometimes takes a few days as domes the supervisors need to escalate your information to ensure an outcome in your interest.  That would be my recommendation.

  • My IPAD screen shows a bunch of lines then goes black

When I turned on my IPAD2 the screen showed a series of different color lines, then went black
It worked fine last night any ideas on problems.
I have a lock code on it, so I can't even get in to unlock it.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Ipad screen showing closed pages

I have had an ipad 2 for just over a year now, recently I have noticed that when I close down a program such as the Internet I can still see the page I was previously on shining through in the background. It doesn't matter what app/program I am on, I can always see the previous page coming through (especially around the edges).
I have had a play around with brightness settings and shut down all running program's on the ipad however the previous screen will still shine through, before slowly fading away after a few minutes.
I just wondered if anyone else has ever had this?
At first I could hardly see it at all but now it's becoming quite prominent, is the ipad screen breaking/failing?
Any help or information would be much appreciated because I have never heard of this happening and am not quite sure what to do!
    Thanks, Zoe :)

Tha indicates that it's gone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
You will need to connect it to your computer's iTunes (you will need the current version of iTunes on your computer) and you should then be able to reset your iPad and restore/resync your content to it

  • I have a frozen iPad screen showing the Apple Icon and pending wheel.

My iPad screen is frozen with the Apple Icon and the pending wheel visable but motionless.
I tried charging it but it will not charge. I tried connecting it with itunes so I could sync it but it won't.
I was able to download my photos into my PC so I know the PC usb port, apple the cable and ipad ports are all working and that the software from the ipad can communicate with my PC software but I am stuck on everything else.
What is the problem and what do I do?

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
If you're not able to restore the device the normal way, you should use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck

  • My iPad screen shows a very thin horizontal line... What could it be?

My iPad ia showing a very thin red horizontal line... Wyatt could it be? What should I do? Please help guys!
    Tks!

You can try giving it a reset. HOld down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. See if the reboot helps.
If not you should make an appointment at your local apple store and have them look at it. If something is wrong with the iPad's version of the video card, that's beyond a user fix.

  • HT1212 I am unable to get my iPad to connect to computer using iTunes. The iPad screen shows cable must be connected to computer when the cable is already connected. Please advise

Endless trouble after downloading IOS7 ON BOTH IPHONE AND MINI IPAD. It takes almost 4 minutes to write and send SMS where it used to take 90 seconds on IOS6. My ipad wanted a passcode after installing IOS7 and I never knew what the passcode was and accidentally disabled my ipad. I tried to reinstall using ITUNES, following all instructions carefully. I t took nearly 3 hours downloading before telling me that my ipad could not connect to ITUNES as my ipad disabled.I have followed all the instructions to connect the ipad to my computer and the screen of ipad shows that I must connect to itunes although my cable is connected to my computer and ipad. I am desperate, any advice.

I understand but like the article says:
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
