IPad WiFi 3G can't be charged using the 10W power adapter

Hi,
My new iPad gives me Not charging sign when I use the 10W power adapter comes with, and even I can't connect it to iTunes in my Macbook Air, windows XP, or windows7 laptops. I tried everything apple support provided but again nothing.
So, I'm open for suggestions.

I would try another charger and cable.
If that doesn't fix the problem, I'd take it back to the seller for replacement.

  • IPad 3 charging issue with 10w power adapter

    Hi everyone,
About the beginning of November, I purchased my first iPad. This is an iPad 3, wifi. Up until yesterday, I was able to charge my iPad using the 10w power adapter and cable from the box.
Since yesterday, that doesn't work anymore. I searched the internet but couldn't find a solution.
    - I can charge my iPad 3 using my Macbook from late 2009, but it goes very slow. I don't get the screen and sound saying it's charging. I want to charge overnight and can't leave my computer on overnight.
    - When I try to charge the iPad using the 10w power adapter and cable from the box, nothing happens. I don't get a lightning bolt or message saying it's charging. I don't get a message saying "not charging".
    - I tried different outlets around the house, including outlets directly on the wall.
    - I tried using my iPod classic from 2007 cable, no change. I hadn't expected it to work since the cable is fine, it's the power adapter that doesn't work.
    - I tried rebooting, also a cold reboot. No changes.
    - I can't take this to an Apple store since there is no Apple store near me.
    - I'm not playing games on it.
    - It doesn't charge when I plug it into the wall overnight.
This became a problem after using my iPad for about two weeks. Anyone who can help?

I ended up buying a 12w adapter. Because I'm not near an Apple store and the nearest one charges 30 euros an hour to even take a look, that's not really an option. That store also doesn't sell the ipad I have. Buying a new adapter was cheaper, and I can have it mailed home, and at least I'm sure it'll work and will go a bit faster.
    Thanks for the help anyway!

  • Is it possible to use the firewire power adapter for ipod to charge an Ipad

There is information everywhere that the Ipad doesn't charge with low power adapters.
The first power adapter I received with my first Ipod was the firewire power adapter and it allows intensities even higher than the 10 W Ipad adapter.
Could this old adapter be used with Ipad
Model n. A1070 output 12V 6.7 A if I believe what is written on it.

You should only use a USB-type charger for the ipad. Any other charger is risking damage to the ipad.
The ipad uses 5Volts at 2 amps for best charging. This is why it came with the wall charger.
You can charge it with any 5 Volt USB charger as long as the output amps is approximately 1 amp or more. If the amps rating on the charger is less than 2 amps, it will charge slower, but it is safe. The ipad will only draw the current it requires, but any voltage higher than 5 volts is risking damage to the ipad.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ipad wont charge using the 10w charger

I am having problems with charging the Ipad.
I used the 10w charger that came with it but the Ipad doesnt show that it's charging.
I also cannot sync it to Itunes.
I tried resetting the Ipad already and connecting it to the USB port direct to the computer but it did not work
    Any ideas?

When you connect the iPad to the charger does it beep? When you connect it to your computer does the iPad beep? Does iTunes see the iPad? Have you tried looking at the 30-pin end f the connector and the iPad receptacle for damage? Do you have another cable to try?
It could be that you have a bad cable.

  • Ipad 4 not charging with the ORIGINAL Power adapter that came in the box. Can't charge my iPad. I plugged in on PC all night and has been charged to 7%

Yesterday, as usual was going to charge my iPad, it was at 1%. Well, I took my ipad charger (original Apple official, I want to clarify that as a first step, I'm using the brand products than Apple) and plugged into an outlet ... The ipad began loading the first two minutes , then I got a notification telling me that the iPad could not charge with the charger.
I was quite surprised by the announcement. I disconnected and reconnected it .... again, I received the same notification. Then I disconnected and tried it on another outlet ... anything, yet. then I tried it on another outlet and ipad started charging. but after a while I had the same notice, not paying attention to that. I left it charging and I removed roughly 25% that of fear for something to happen. also remembered that situation (made 2-3 months ago where the iPad was not charging but after waiting a while disconnected, reconnected it and loaded normally).
so I decided to wait to re-connect the iPad to the outlet. This time, I plugged it into the outlet (fully discharged) at night and expected to find it loaded in the morning. But my surprise is that it still is off, it did not load anything.
I Bought the iPad in December 2012. Do you think that my iPad is hurt?
What can I do? Ay recommendation?
    Please, HELP ME!

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.  You may also want to swap out the cable, just to confirm or rule out that it's bad.
If none of those fixes work, make the appointment at your apple store and have them check it out.

  • If I use the 10W power pack (received with my iPad) to charge my iPhone 4S hurt my phone battery?

Will the 10W USB Power adapter (I got w/my iPad) hurt my iPhone 4S?

No. The iPhone will draw as much power as it requires to charge its battery. It cannot draw too much, nor can it draw more than the adapter is capable of providing.
Conversely, you may also use the iPhone 4S charger to charge the iPad. It will just take longer to charge than it would with the iPad's charger.

  • My iPad will not turn on or charge using the 10 w standard charger. I do not get the charge tone at hook up. It was fully charged when I took it to work yesterday. used it once and turned it off. Charger good, "tones" my iPhone when connected.

iPad completely inop. Paperweight now. Was fully charged when last used yesterday. Charger works with iPhone, but will not give provide "tone" when connected to iPad. Any suggestion?

I'm not so sure that this will work but it is always worth a try. Reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • IPad won't charge using 10W Power Adapter

    The subject states it all.
My iPad displays the words "Not Charging" besides the battery bar even when charged by the 10W power adapter that came along with the iPad.
Used the same power adapter to charge my iPhone and there was no problem.
Charged the same iPad using the same 10W power adapter a few times before and there were no issues either.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Thank you for your suggestions.
I thought that my USB cable was faulty too at first. But after changing the USB cable and playing around with a few power adapters which did charge by iPhone, I guess the probability that the USB cables are faulty or that the problem lies with the power adapter seems rather low.
    Changing power sockets didn't help.
By elimination, I suppose the only problem there can be should be with the iPad. My only concern is that it happened so sudden without me doing anything to the iPad (using it normally etc.)and how can I be sure it doesn't happen again in the future.
    Pretty annoying.
*If I might add, plugging it in to the computer does not induce a response from iTunes (no detection).

  • Can I use the same wall adapter to charge my ipad and my ipod

Can I use the same wall adapter to charge my ipad and my ipod touch

No offense, but that's nice. I heard I was wrong and that what I said didn't make sense, so I simplified it. If I'm wrong, fine, but you have no reason to be such a *****. You never explained why I was wrong and you were right, so how am I or anyone else suppose to know that for sure? Then I tell you my source, and you insult me some more and then ask for my background, which as for this area goes, I already gave you. I worked at an Apple store for Christmas and was told by someone on the Genius team to tell customers not to charge iPads via iPhone chargers, as they had been known to fry the adapter or in one weird case, the actual outlet. Now I could see the outlet blowing be a bunch of other contributing factors, and not directly associated with the charger. However, the topic arose when a customer came in because her iPhone wall adapter didn't seem to be working, but wasn't that old, and admitted to charging her iPad with it. Why would I NOT believe that?
And my DEEPEST apologies on commenting on old threads. I know how vital that is to existance and what an inconvenience it is to EVERYONE else. I'll be honest, I wasn't checking dates as I assumed suggested posts with like one answer near the top of the list were newer.
Fine, I did something foolish, but I still win as I'm not either of you heartless ****** with nothing better to do than Internet harass others. Congratulations on your existences.

  • I downloaded the new os7 on my Ipad mini. Now in order to use the ipad I need to use a passcode. I cannot get pass the login screen and I never set up my ipad to use a passcode. What can I do?

I downloaded the new os7 on my ipad mini. Now in order to use the Ipad, I need to enter a passcode. I cannot get pass this screen. I did
not set it up to use a passcode. What can I do? I am not too computer savy.

I have the same problem. I upgraded to iOS7, entered my usual passcode when prompted in setup, and when I tried to access my iPad after installation was finished it denied my passcode. I can't connect to any internet to erase it or anything because the new iOS hasn't yet been configured to a wifi network, so I can't backup from anything either.
When I connect the iPad to iTunes, it tells me that Find My iPad must be disabled on my iPad before backup or restore can continue - and I can't access anything beyond the lock screen of my iPad at all because it refuses to accept my passcode, so I can't get to Find My iPad.

  • My iPad won't charge using the charger brick

My iPad won't charge using the charger brick

you can try giving your device a reset and see if that helps. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try. If that doesn't fix it, then time to move onto other trouble shooting.
Usually if an iPad won't charge (presuming you're using the supplied charger plugged into the wall), it's:
    bad brick
    bad cable
    bad outlet
    bad port on the iPad
you can eliminate the first three by swapping out chargers if you have another, swapping out cables and trying a different outlet. If you do that and eliminate the first three, then it may be the port on your iPad. If so, and your iPad is still under warranty, make an appointment at your local apple store and take it in.
