Ipad will not turn on the screen is just black, using the hone and power buttom together does not fix it
my ipad screen is blue, using the home and power buttons together do not fix it.
If you can't reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing, connect it to your charger for at least 15 minutes then try resetting it again If it won't reset make an appointment with the Genius bar at a nearby Apple store to have it looked at.

I was trying to update my Ipad to IOS 8, the screen is all black with the apple logo on it and the progress bar is stuck.

It's time to find yourself a competent 3rd party repair shop or just buy a new phone. I believe you can get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for $149 (not absolutely positive they still offer them for the 3G), but given the age of the phone and the cost, a new one might make more sense. -
Can somebody advice me what to do... when I want to play video on iPad, the screen is just black....it was just fine this morning. In iTunes it shows the movies are there.
Try starting the movie using a backdoor approach.
Swipe down from the middle of any home screen in order to bring up the Spotlight Search Feature. Type in the name of the movie in the text field. When the movie appears in the search, tap on it and that should launch the videos app and hopefully the movie will being to play. -
my iphone 4 is not responding the screen is just showing a usb lead and the itunes symbol. when i plug it into my desktop mac and try to sync it to itunes ,itunes is telling me the phone is in a restore mode. How do i get it to respond without restoring the phone to new ? there is no option to restore with backup as i have not backed up any of the data on the phone any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/). -
I have downloaded ios 7.2 update for my ipad and now my screen is locked and shows a picture of a plug and the itunes symbol. Does anyone have advice to fix this frustrating problem? Iam new to iTunes. I have donwloaded the player onto my PC. Ihave bought a documentary from the iTunes store, but it will not play. The timer runs, but the screen is black and there is no sound. Any suggestions as to how I can get it to work?

My iPod Nano will not turn on. I bought the device last December or January and used it exactly twice and it quit working completely. I sent it in to be fixed. It came back and I used it exactly once and it went totally black. I sent it back a third time and when it came back I used it four or five times and it went black. It has turned on three times since but now it will not turn on. Is this a common problem? Is there a user-fix to make it start working?
Are you sure the batter isn't just running out of juice? When the iPod quits responding do you plug it in to charge for a couple of hours? What are you usually doing when listening to the Nano?

If the unit has NEVER been jailbroke, first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless... Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -
I downloaded a TV series and all the episodes show "downloaded" and when I go to play them in iTunes on my laptop, the screen is black and it wont play. I made sure I have the latest version of iTunes. I have no problem playing them on my iPad. This is the first time this has happened...I have been able to play all my downloads on my PC in the past.
See if any of these things will get the videos app working again.
Quit the videos app completely.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Try the videos app again.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that fails, try this. Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of the movie in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK. -
How can I change the screen time out when using the notification screen in zoom on the IPhone?
To clarify, when I am using Zoom and using three fingers to move around on the notification screen. The screen goes blank even if I am actively moving my fingers across the screen to read the screen. Why does the notification screen not recognize active movement and go blank after a peiord of time. I have very limited sight and rely heavly on SIri, text speak, and Zoom.
