IPhone 2G wont find wifi networks

Using firmware 2.1 and i have a wifi address in my information section. Sometimes it will find a wifi signal, which has a good connection, but it will disappear in about 5 seconds and if i look into the information on the wifi signal found all feilds will be blank. I already tried resetting the settings and reinstalling the firmware and it is still not working. Help please...

I am having the same issues.  My macbook can pick up a number of wifi networks in my area where my iphone 5 is very limited.  Not sure what to do.

the most popular "solution" is to overheat your iphone for about 10 minutes and then to cool it in the fridge however, i heard that this harms your phone as well

If the issue remains it would be best for you to back up your phone then book an appointment at an Apple Retail Store to be evaluated.

    8520 wont find orange network
ive done all i need to if i do a network search orange dont come up it was working before

If you simply can't find the network, that's a problem you should take up with Orange, or try from a different geographic area. Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Right now, there is a known data issue in Europe where you might be located, causing an outage of BlackBerry data for email, messenger, etc., but if you can't get a signal, that's a totally different issue.

You could try syncing the contacts with yahoo or google contacts, then sync them to the iPhone.  Or, export the contacts and then import them into one of the aforementioned servicse, or iCloud, then sync to the phone.

Any ideas why my iPhone 5s won't connect to wifi networks. Sometimes does find the networks and others finds them, connects for a few then drops

You do not say if you tried any diagnostic steps yet. The first thing to do is to do a reset or reboot of the phone. This does not erase anything on the phone and is akin to completely shutting the phone off and then a fresh reboot.
First close all apps - double click on the home button and whisk away the apps toward the top of the phone to close the app.
Now press the home button once to go back to the regular menu screen
No press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button the the top right side together for 10 seconds. The phone will turn off and reboot.
    See if that fixes it.

  • Does Find My Iphone Connect To Random Wifi Networks In Attempts To Locate Ones Apple Product ?

I am and though i have my music backed up was wondering how efficent is this service ? Does It Connect To All Every Or Any Wifi Networks In Range To Help Find Product ?

The device must be connected to a wifi network (unless it's an iPhone, which can also connect using cellular data) in order to be located with Find My iPhone.  This means that it must be ibe a known wifi network (one that it has connected to before) in order to be located, not a random one.

  • IPhone will not find my network.  Neither will my wife's.  Has worked for one year, but suddenly, cannot find network.  My Mac can find the network.  Why not?

Both of our iPhones won't find the our wireless router.  The router is fine with other devices including our Mac and Kindle.  Tried reseting and got nowhere.  Any advice?

Oh I see, thanks for the info guys.
I find it incredibly weird that after just one night it went from connecting to not connecting at all. Now when I manually input my connection, It shows it and shows bars but when I select it, it doesn't connect and just has a little spinning wheel next to the network name.
EDIT: It came back somehow when I tried browsing in safari and it asked for my password and wala! Weird but hope it doesnt happen again haha.

  • Playbook cannot find WIFI networks

Hi, I have a new Playbook 16gb wifi and the wifi isn't working. Essentially what happened was after I completed the initial setup it prompted me to install an OS update after which the WIFI stopped working. I cannot connect to any network no matter the type a/b/g/n, the frequency, the channel or the mode. I have tried on two Netgear routers, 1 DLink and 1 iPhone (used as a hot spot). I have tried PBS using the actual button and the PIN but neither works. It just cannot find any networks.
I tried resetting to factory defaults but that has made the situation worse because I am now stuck at the setup screen with no networks to complete setup. I can't connect to the desktop software either because the installation hasn't completed.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    David

    Hello
Were you able to fix the wifi issue ?
I have successfully reloaded QNX OS on the Playbook using Desktop manager.
    Version 1.0.7.2942 was loaded.
I still have the same problem, it is impossible to connect to the wifi network.
I have tried wpa2, wpa and wep , nothing works. I have tried at over 10 different routers.  I tried with routers where other playbook wifi works well, but this one playbook won't connect, I always get the same error while trying to pair to the network, it doesn't event get to the acquiring IP address phase.
    Thanks

First thing I want ask you, have you view the link below to troubleshoot your current issue:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support
If yes and it was unsuccessful then I would reach out to Linksys and check the router firmware.  Chances are it maybe be running an outdated firmware.  Please call the numbers below to move forward.

  • Playbook wont find any networks

I have  a blackberry playbook, i was using it this morning and i put it on standby and after a few minutes, my playbook lost the wifi network and woudnt find any wifi network what so ever. So i decided to security wipe it and then it wont go past the select network page as the playbook cant find any wifi networks.

Where were you obtaining your wifi signal from, your own router or a neighbours router. Maybe the router shutdown. If you do not have physical access to your router, try an open source at McDonalds or Starbucks.

  • Two Iphones on the same WiFi network, using the same Apple ID receive calls meant for only one of the phones.

My husband and I each have an IPhone 6.  We are using the same WiFi network and the same Apple ID, the phone numbers are different.  When we are at home, both phone receive calls meant for one of the phones.  Call can be answered from either phone.  Is this a new feature and How can I turn it off?

go into settings then FaceTime then turn off iPhone cellular calls

    3. Microsoft router MN-500:
Tried this old router (the one I used before purchasing the LinkSys). It is an old (circa 2002) Wireless B base station with WEP Security. The iPhone was never able to connect to the Internet using various settings, many of which were duplicates of the LinkSys tests above.
On both routers my wife's Dell laptop and my HP printer connect without incident, using the same network/security settings.
I have always been able to connect to various unsecured WiFi networks; I have never been able to connect to a secure WiFi network (although the only one I've really tried has been my own).
I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?

    SUCCESS!!!!!
I visited my brother-in-law yesterday and attempted to connect with his secure network. By sheer luck, he is using the exact same model LinkSys router. My iPhone connected first time--so the iPhone was eliminated as a source of the problem.
I didn't do a lot of troubleshooting at his house, but I did notice that his network was set for both dynamic DHCP and dynamic DNS. I know that either or both of Windstream (my ISP) and my broadband modem requires a pair of static DNS addresses.
Sure enough, delving real deep into Windstream's support site, I discovered a LinkSys router DNS help page, specifying how to set static DNS addresses in LinkSys routers. I then accessed my router, enterd the known static addresses, saved the router settings, then rebooted the iPhone and connected to the network.
    SUCCESS!!!
Thanks to Jane, who suggested it was an ISP issue, Jason, and all at Apple support. dumonj, I'll email you directly. Try this suggestion and see if it helps.

  • Iphone connects to secured wifi network but cant surf the internet

I am trying to connect to the wifi at the office, it's a 64 bit WEP secured network (I enter a 10 character hex key). The Iphone connects to the network and is assigned a valid IP address. But when I try www.google.com or 64.233.167.99 for example, it fails with 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding'.
It all works fine at home on my non secured wifi network.
    Please, can someone help? Thanks.

Are you 100% sure the WiFi at your work has access to get out...and also, I assume they know you are getting on it. Not sure what type of office you are at (eg: large business with network support/admin or at a small office where you or somebody right there set it up).
But if large office with network admin...could be they locked it down with MacAddresses as well.
