IPhone 3G AppStore

I use an old iPhone 3G as secondary iPhone as iPod for music and surfing.
After upgrading to iOS 5 with my primary iPhone 4 I lost the AppStore-App as well as the iTunes-App at the old iphone 3G.
Is it gone because of iOS5? How can I reconfigure the iPhone to get use of the AppStore again?
Now, I can not get new Apps on the iPhone 3G, even when it it connected to my iMac.

Thanks good to know. As long as it's a known issue. I guess I just have to deal with it. I know that I have seen on blogs for new application updates and I would be like ok good. But it would never ever show up in my iTune or appstore on the iPhone. So I guess I just have to keep that in mind and download manually.

The "backup password" refers to a password you created when you elected to encrypt your iPhone's backup. If you cannot remember the encryption password, you will not be able to access the backup.

Is there a way to accept terms and conditions online and not through iphone's appstore?

Whenever i try to download an app from the appstore it asks me to accept the new terms and conditions. i click ok and it opens a new page and says loading... then it crashes and goes back to my homescreen. i have tried eveything to fix it. so my question is there a way to accept the terms and conditions online and not through the appstore so i can download apps again?

Did you try restarting the iPhone? Press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to power off. Then press and hold the sleep / wake button until you see the Apple logo.
And try tapping Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Try the App Store.

How can I get rid of the old Id on the app store and set ours up please? Do we delete the appstore app and if so, can we get it again?

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores touch the Apple ID shown and select Sign Out. Then enter your Apple Id/password and Sign In.

Existing Apple ID is not longer working with Face Time and Message on the iPhone after iOS 6

After the IOS 6 update on my iPhone the Apple ID is not longer working with Face Time and Message. Each time I try to log in I receive the message that the password or the user is not right. But they are, because on all other devices and all other parts of the iPhone (iCloud, AppStore, iTunes) they are working. Other Apple IDs are working fine.
What's wrong? Any idea?

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.

IPhone Remote crashes Apple TV

0. Make sure iPhone/iPod Touch is not on the local wireless network.
1. Turn on television.
2. Turn on Apple TV.
3. Use Apple TV's remote to begin playing music.
4. Turn off television.
5. Bring iPhone/iPod Touch onto the local wireless network.
6. Start iPhone OS AppStore's Remote application.
7. Happily control Apple TV: browse/play music for some time.
8. Turn television back on.
After step 8, Apple TV's video display is either frozen, though the music continues to play, or the music halts and by the time the TV comes up all I see is the silver Apple logo as the device restarts. Very rarely the Apple TV recovers, but most often it crashes.
Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry, I'd interpreted your diagnostic routine as your user routine, it does make more sense in that case.
I think it's likely fair to say that it's not an HDMI issue if your problems have only appeared as a result of using the remote application, although if the problem occurred after a software upgrade or happens when you aren't using the remote application, I think it something you should consider. There are quite a few people who have HDMI issues, some very infrequently and some a little more often, I thought it worth asking.
I don't suppose for a moment  would describe their application as a novelty, but I guess I think that way. It does introduce some functionality for searches, but it doesn't control all aspects of the tv such as photos and the like, so it certainly cannot replace the original remote. Add to that, unlike the control of itunes which seems to be a very useful feature especially with the added function of being able to turn on and off remote speakers, controlling a visual device from anywhere but the room in which it is located (the room where the original would be anyway) seems like a novelty to me.
As for others who have issues with the remote app and the tv, you can add me to that list, I have had the tv freeze while using the remote, not so often admittedly, but then I haven't used the remote app so often with the tv anyway. Of note though these issues have not involved turning the tv on or off, so there does seem a little bugginess when using these products together.

IPhone freezing when installing or uninstalling application during sync

I've been running to issues with iPhone freezing during install and uninstalling of Applications during iTunes sync. The installation or remove seems to complete after I force reboot iPhone, but sort of troublesome as I'm having to reboot iPhone for every app I try to install or remove. Also, when trying to install or remove application from iPhone's appstore, iPhone gets very unstable and the installation or remove of application never completes.
Is anyone running into this issue? Any workaround (maybe I need to use Mac instead of windows xp ... ?)

I think finally figured out the problem...
This was due to one of the application I had (purchased) installed called "Wisdom dictionary".
This has been taken off of iTunes already but apparently this application was causing other application to not install. The application is about 120 megs, and the company is currently investigating some memory issue related to expanding the installer. It appears to be Apple issue, they are in contact with Apple, but apparently there is no info from Apple when the issue would be addressed....
Anyway, without this application, my iPhone so far has been working pretty well.
It may be possible other large apps may have similar issues.... not sure.

Problems with iOS5, Appstore

After updating my iPad 2 (16GB, WiFi) I seem to be facing alot of problems with the appstore, I cant access the "Featured" page, sometimes it shows me the iPhone's appstore instead of the iPad's . "Featured" button takes me to "Catagories" , its really weird.
can someone help me.

I have the a similar problem on iPhone 4 16GB. When I press the featured button, I see the page for Instagram, no buttons to go back and no matter how many times I press featured, or close and reopen the AppStore app, I can't see the main featured page...

AppStore problems; Apps don't launch

This is turning into an absolute farce, as if the problems on launch day weren't bad enough.
I have purchased two applications today through the iPhone's AppStore, and both times I have the same problem - which I have seen other people talking about as well: The applications downloaded but then took a very long time during the "Installing" phase, and then once that had finished, they won't start.
Tapping on their icons just makes the iPhone pause, and then I get chucked straight back to the home screen.
I have tried deleting them and re-installing: same problem. I am also getting frequent "App Store is not available" messages and timeouts when browsing apps, from this I am guessing that the app tries to contact the store during the final part of the "installing" phase, times out, and leaves a broken application installed.
So, not really making a very good impression at the moment. I assume that as I can re-download applications, I haven't actually lost any money but it still makes the whole thing look like a complete shambles.

Same here. Absolutely ridiculous. OneTap Movies just crashes and snaps back to the home screen every time it is launched - although it worked prior to syncing. I had to restore my phone and set it up as a new phone to get it working again. Now it's back to crashing after syncing. Utterly ridiculous and completely unacceptable.
I am really disappointed in Apple - apps crashing constantly, MobileMe/.Mac aliases have disappeared from Mail.app on the Mac and aren't available to send from on the iPhone either, MobileMe updater issues...the list just goes on.
Too bad they don't seem to read feedback or these forums. Don't they use the iPhone themselves? I mean sh*#!, we've only had the 2.0 firmware and MobileMe for 2 days now and we've been plagued with constant issues. At least an acknowledgement that something is going on would be nice. I could at least respect that.

AppStore claims no updates - but there are!

In iTunes on my Mac when I check for updates iTunes claims all my apps are up to date, no new updates.
In the AppStore on my 3G iPhone same result, no new updates.
Then I saw that my version of Pianist is 1.0 while the current one is 1.2! So there must be an update! So I purchased Pianist again on my iPhone's AppStore and got the message "This update is free because you own a previous version." (or something like that). Aha! So there is an update!
Then I saw that my version of Ocarina is 1.0.1 while the current version is also 1.2! Purchased Ocarina on my iPhone again and got the same message "This update is free because you own a previous version." Aha! Another one!
So what's happening? I can no longer trust the AppStore on my iPhone nor in iTunes to tell me 'no new updates'... It seems to say that even though there are!
p.s.
Once I updated those two apps on my iPhone, suddenly my iTunes account claims: There are 2 new updates for your applications: Pianist and Ocarina.
Duh!

My iPhone's connected via WiFi.
When launching the AppStore the spinning gear appears briefly and then it says 'All Apps Are Up to Date'.
Yet again:
I checked Super Monkey Ball. According to iTunes on my Mac my copy is version 1.0.1 and according to the iPhone AppStore the current one is 1.0.2! Another app that should be updated!
So I tap on 'Buy Now" and am greeted with 'This update is free because you own a previous version of this item.' Aha!
Clicking OK downloads 1.0.2.
And lo and behold: iTunes on my Mac now tells me I have 3 applications that need updating!
So so, all of a sudden...
What might be screwing things up potentially / expose the bug in Apple's software:
- These apps were originally purchased on an iPhone 2.5G. I later moved to an iPhone 3G via an iTunes backup and restore. Perhaps some original database with the app versions did not make it across via the iTunes backup?
- I moved continent recently, those apps were purchased on a different address on my iTunes account than now.
But as it currently stands I cannot trust either iTunes on my Mac nor the AppStore on my iPhone in regards to updates - and must manually check every app I have. What a pain...

After you swipe from left to right a red box will come up that says hide where it previously said installed or has the cloud downloaded sign.
Touch hide. The apps that you have chosed to hide will temorarily dim until you close our of the i store program.
anyway it dont seem that the history can be hide if you upgrade to IOS 6...

It seems you can't do this anymore from the iphone/ipad appstore which is a real problem.
It seems though that you can do this via the iTunes app.
Go to the app store > purchased history
From there all your apps bought will appear.
Mouse over on the app icon you want to hide, an x icon will appear on the top left. Click the icon and the app will disappear.
Close your app store on your iphone/ipad, launch it again and the app should have disappeared.
Although, I don't know if it "hides" or "erases" the app from your history, there's no explanation...
This should be a solution while they FIX THIS in the next update!!

Change of country and corresponding Appstore

I have recently moved in in UK from Greece. On my iPhone, the Appstore is still located in the Greek appstore. I saw a lot of posts from people complaining about the hassle that comes when changing country. For the time being I am able to download everything from the Greek appstore, however, I am unable to download anything from the UK appstore.
So, what do I need to do in order to have access to the UK appstore? And if I get access to this, will I lose access to the Greek appstore (provided that I have debit cards for both countries)?
How easy it is to change countries in the appstore?
What do you believe is the best thing to do in my case?

What the heck is this for a weird rule ?????
Since 2 weeks I have an iMac 27" i5. Some days ago I tried to download Sketchbook Express. But it seems that if you download for the first time something you have to give your billing address and creditcard data.
Since more than a year I live in Romania, but my home country is Holland. There I have my bank account, because my pension is paid there and from there is my creditcard. But it is controllable a valid card.
To buy my iMac with this card in Romania was no problem !! But to download F R E E software is not possible with this card.
Another annoying point: As soon as you as you fill in your billing address, they change the language in the language of your billing address. I think it would be more polite if they asked you if you want to change the language.

My situation appears to be the same however, going to Settings > Sign Out does not solve the problem.
My iPhone's *AppStore* shows that I need to update 104 Apps. The ID showing is my old Apple ID (in the past, an ID did not requiere the name@domain format; a "xname" was enough).
Recently (due to an IOS upgrade?) my old ID (format "xname") appeared and does not let me change it anywhere! Even in the managing your ID Apple web page that old ID does not show (of course now I have an [email protected] and an [email protected] besides my [email protected]) so how can I get rid of this
Interestingly, if I want to add ('Purchase') a new App my current ID works, but to Update, the old one is hardcoded on the "Sign In To iTunes Store | Enter the Apple ID password for 'xname' "
