Hey guys, i was just texting on my iphone and it just shut off, i tired to charge it aswell and it didn't turn back on. i also have never dropped it or have it come in contact with water so i have no idea whats happening here... much help needed pls

If the iPhone doesn't power on while connected to a power source, have you tried a reset which is similar to a computer restart while the iPhone is connected to a power source?

My iPhone 3Gs randomly shutting off at any given moment. I could be in the middle of a text, a call, or doing some games and it'll just shut off.
Now here's the unique part. When I go to turn it back on, the apple loading screen pops up but it takes somewhere from 3-5 minutes for it to boot up. Then the lock screen with the time and whatnot shows up. From this point on, my iPhone has a chance to shut itself back down and I have to repeat the process over and over again. Most of the time the lock screen flashes and then goes straight to black (shut down) but sometimes I can make it a few menus before it shuts itself down.
The only way to keep the iPhone on is to plug it into a charger of any sort. I'm fairly certain it isn't a battery charge issue because this happens at any % of power and sometimes my iPhone can use up all of its charge and not have this happen while other times I can be at 90-100% and it could randomly shut itself down. What can I do in this situation if some has some solution to this problem please let me know on [email protected] Thanks!

Not sure if this Term is Relevant towards an iPhone but, my iPhone won't Post unless if it's plugged into a Charger.

  • Has any one figured out how to fix an issue I'm having. My iPhone 5 randomly shuts off by itself. Then it won't turn on when i try to hook it up to iTunes it says its in recovery mode. so then i hit restore and its been stuck on waiting for iPhone.

This happened after I did a software update on my phone about a month and a half ago. My phone will randomly shut off by itself and wont come back on. I had spoke with an apple repair person over the phone who told me to hold in the home button and then plug it into my computer. When the iphone said that there was an error and gave him a code he suggested that I send it in. So I did and about a week and a half later I get it back and its on. Yet the problem still occurs. It shut off twice in the same day and for several hours would not come on. When it did I called apple again and they ran a diagnostic on my phone and said it was a software issue. So then why was it not fixed? They told me they could not duplicate the problem. And now it happens about once or twice a week now. And its happening right now. I have it plugged into my computer and the apple logo with a bar below it has been on for about 20 min now. And itunes is still saying "waiting for iphone."

    Hello Elliiee,
The steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Iphone 6 randomly shut off and will not turn back on - help!

I bought my IPhone 6 last fall from T-Mobile.  My iPhone 6 was working just fine about an hour ago.  Went to hit the home button to check the time and it would not turn on.  It appears to have randomly shut off and now it will not turn back on.  Tried holding the power button - nothing... same with the home button.  Assuming I need to take it in for service, but I'm not sure if there is some easy fix for this.

    Good Afternoon, robmarshall6,

  • Iphone 5 randomly shut off and won't come back on

For the last few weeks my iphone 5 has been randomly shutting off. Usually when this happens I just hold down the power and home buttons and my phone reboots within a few seconds. However last night my phone shut off and will not turn back on no matter what I try. It doesn't respond at all when I plug it into the charger and the screen has been completely black the whole time. When I plug it into my computer Itunes starts up and a message pops up saying that Itunes has detected a phone in recovery mode and I must restore it before it can be used with Itunes. I tried to restore my phone earlier, but it got stuck on 'waiting for itunes' and my phone displayed the apple logo and status bar that would not load at all. My phone is now back to being completely black and unresponsive. PLEASE HELP this phone isn't even 6 months old. I am on vacation currently and really need to get my phone working as soon as possible. Thanks!

I followed the steps found here: Error 4005 fix for Windows 7
it actually brought my phone to life .. sort of .. I now actually see an Apple logo on the iPhone screen (before this it was just a black screen at all times, no matter what) and it has a progress bar under it. Only thing is nothing happens after this. It's just stationary.
My iTunes just says Waiting for iPhone while my iPhone is just stuck with an Apple logo and a loading bar below that doesn't progress.
Edit: After doing some Googling it seems like I have the exact same issue as this person https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6431899

  • IPhone 5 randomly shutting off and gets really really hot when it's charging

I have had my iPhone 5 for a month now and it started randomly shutting off and it would turn on by itself hours later. When I charge it, it gets incredibly hot... it's not normal should I go to the apple store about this issue? I am starting to get really scared about this... I don't know what it's causing it. How do I fix this? HELP!

Your phone is still under warranty, due to the battery service. Contact Apple and have them check the phone again.

  • Shut off, wont turn on, reset, or show in itunes

i was on my phone and it shut off. it was almost fully charged. i tried turning it back on, nothing. i tried resetting, nothing. i tried plugging it in to the wall, nothing. itunes, nothing. when i try to turn it on, the apple logo shows up for a few seconds then it shuts off again. same thing when i try resetting or plugging it in....................any ideas?

Plug it in to the wall for at least 30 minutes. THEN try to turn it on while plugged in. Give it several minutes to come up. You should see an Apple almost immediately, but it can take time to boot if you have a lot of apps.
If this doesn't work you need to recover it using iTunes. Reboot your computer and launch iTunes. Connect your iphone cable to a USB port on the back of the computer (not the front unless there are none on the back, and not into a hub). Press and hold the HOME button. While holding connect it to the dock connector and wait. After a while (could be a couple of minutes) you should seen an icon on the phone showing the phone connected to a USB port. Let go and the phone should restore.

  • Iphone 5 randomly shuts off, now won't turn on or restore

Today my phone was working normal and then the screen went to these crazy lines and shut off. I was able to turn it back on, but it did it again and now I can't get it to turn on, even with a hard reset. I tried to restore it and got an error message (3004). Does anyone know how to fix this?
    TIA

Try two steps below to fix iPhone 5 won't trun on problem:
    1. Hold the power and home/circle buttons for 10 seconds to perform a Hard Reset. If that doesn't work, connect your phone to a computer with iTunes (where you back up your data).
    2. Hold the power button for 10 seconds, then let go. Then hold the home/circle button AND the power button together for 10 seconds. Let go of the power button and keep on holding the home button. Your iPhone should display a white screen or your computer will prompt you and tell you that your phone is in recovery mode and to perform a hard restore (DFU Mode). In both cases, you should be able to restore the phone with your backed up data.

  • IPhone shut off wont turn back on how do I fix it, iPhone shut off wont turn back on how do I fix it

My IPhone screen shut off unable to get it back on, I thought the battery died plugged it in and nothing happened.  When you call my phone number it continues or ring like the phone is on Any idea how to fix it and if its not fixable any idea how to get pictures and what not that weren't saved to ICloud off the phone

It sounds like the back lighting is either broke, or in some way turned off in the os.  If it is still ringing then I would think that it should connect to itunes and be backed up.
If your not using itunes, download it and backup the phone.  Then search for instructions on how to do a factory reset.  Hopefully its some sort of software glitch and a reset will solve it, but you will loose anything that hasnt been backed up if you dont sync to itunes first.

  • Iphone 5 randomly shuts off randomly:

So my iPhone has been doing some very weird things lately.. 2 nights ago my phone had 19% battery and then in the middle of a text, it started powering down and shut off. Thinking something was just glitchy, I tried turning it back on only to be shown a screen to tell me I need to connect to a charger and there was no battery left. This makes no sense because I had 19% battery left.. So I went and plugged it in and it turned back on. I took the charger out of the phone and then it ran all the way down to 1% without turning off? What the **** is going on here? The next night it worked normally without it powering off. But tonight the same thing happened just before I typed this message. I plugged it in to solely turn it on and unplugged it and it worked again from 28% to 1% again like it normally should. This is so bizarre honestly and makes absolutely no sense at all. I threw my phone against the wall about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it dented the screen and metal part near the speaker but nothing in the phone was touched or damaged and it has been working up until a couple of days ago so I'm not sure this is the cause. Does anyone else have this problem?

Could be a hardware fault. It may need to be replaced.
    Have you tried restoring it?
