Iphone 4 screen flickers

When i use my iphone 4 camera the screen flickers and changes to a thermal color.

For the battery issue I can suggest closing the facebook app in the multitasking bar as with its latest update it's constantly running things in the background. Since doing that on my phone i've practically doubled my battery life.
A flickering screen and broken power button is something I don't think you can do much about. You can set the phone to auto-lock after a set amount of time in the settings app (to bypass not being able to press the lock button) but to fix these issues you really do need to take it to a genius bar or other servicing provider.

  • Request help for iphone screen flickering

I'm using iphone 4. Few days ago (before the software update 6.0.1) i noticed my iphone screen is flickering and blurred.this bug was not fixed after IOS update 6.0.1. Thus showing horizontal lines in the screen.
              please help me

I did resolve it. I did the reset while the phone was plugged into my computer at home (holding down the home button and power button at the same time, until it shuts down and reboots). It took a few tries but eventually it showed the icon of the plug going into the icon for iTunes.  From iTunes, I did a restore from an older backup, and then reinstalled the update from the computer.  Now it works just fine.  I wonder if maybe the update was just too hefty to pull down via the cellular network.
If you never did a backup of your phone to iTunes or the cloud, then you'll likely have to do a restore to factory conditions and then do the update.  Incovenient, but better than a paperweight

  • IPhone Screen Flickers

    Hi everyone
Ever since I updated my iPhone to 4.1, I noticed that my screen would flicker from time to time. It happens mostly when I make a phone call, and the picture of the person I'm calling will flicker. When it flickers, the screen quickly dims down and then back up and it stays their. This has never happened prior to updating my phone. Its not jailbroken either. Any thoughts?

My iPhone 3GS has also started flickering after i updated to iOS 4, I have noe idea what is wrong, but it seems my problem is a bit worse than others are experiencing here..
When I try to hit the button to make it start, the screen usually goes "black" (meaning no lights, but I can still see the screen.. but the backgroundlight has been switched off or something.. so when I get to the home-screen or any other screen, like textmessages and so on, the light stays off... so I have to hit the sleep-button a few times before I can get it working again, and then I get to use the phone for maybe 2 minutes and the light turns off again... no idea whats wrong, I am thinking of sending it in to apple for a check...
And for those wondering: Yes, I tried to restart it, reinstall the phone in iTunes and so on, none of the typical troubleshoots seem to work...

  • HT4061 I got a brand new iPhone 4S on contract last week and since I've had it it's been over heating and it's turned itself off once and every now and then the screen flickers I just wanted to know is this a common thing as I've never had an iPhone befor

My new iPhone 4S that I have had a for about a week keeps over heating a lot and its turned itself off once and I couldn't turn it on for over half an hour, also my screen flickers from time to time and I'm not sure what to do as I not had an iPhone before can anybody help me please I would be very greatful.

    No, it's not normal.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
Frankly though, considering it's new, take it back to Apple.

  • My iphone keeps flickering on the load up screen and my screen goes from blue to black and keeps flickering any solutions?

as i said my iphone keeps flickering on the load up screen the apple logo goes back and forth and the screen changes colour from black to blue, help!?

You don't say which year it is, but if it's a 13" you're not having a common GPU that some 2010 and 2011 15" models are having.
Since reinstalling the OS didn't help, I'm afraid that the only real choice you have is to take the machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them run diagnostics on the machine. It's likely a screen problem, rather than a logic board problem (although that's always a possibility).
The testing is free as if the estimate for repair. There's really nothing else you can do yourself at this point.
    Sorry,

  • Iphone 5 screen Flickers some time while entering app store password

    Hi
My Iphone 5 screen Flickers some time while entering app store password, not sure if it is BUG of Iphone 5 or I OS6 . Do I need to exchange my device?

It happened to me as well. Once in App Store and once in Flight+ app. It happens where the keys QWERTY is on the keypad. I assume it is a software bug in the OS. However, I don't eliminate the possibility of a hardware issue with my device since I dropped it on a hard carpet floor from waist height. No appearance damage but not sure about any internal damages. I will update this thread when I get more updates

  • Iphone 5c screen flickering, pixelated and then becomes unresponsive

i got a replacement iphone 5c from apple about 4 months ago. my first 5c started flickering and eventually just gave up on me. apple had it for 2 weeks and sent back what i was told was a brand new 5c. Lucky for me as i was just passed my 1 yr warranty when i got it back. the first time i turned it on the screen flickered a few times but stopped. Now, the app icons jump around the screen and the screen gets so pixelated you can barely see the screen. After this, it will become completely unresponsive and wont even power off. Ive restored it three times now and nothing works.  i feel really let down - i look after my phones and have always bought apple products. the 5c is the first apple product ive had so many issues with. To have a completely unusable phone after 4 months of getting it straight from Apple is a joke and to make things worse im out of my warranty. is there any way of fixing this or at least contacting apple to let them know whats
happened? the website just keeps redirecting me to various pages which are not helping at all.

    Hello woothie,
It sounds like your screen is behaving unexpectedly and is not displaying your content correctly. If you had been restoring from a backup, I would next test it out after having backed up and restored as new with this article:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If you had restored as new, or the issue persits, here is the number to call AppleCare directly:

  • My iphone screen randomly started flickering

my iphone screen randomly started flickering

    HI
I've been having a similar problem. I have an Iphone 4s. I downloaded iOS7.0.3 the other day and a couple of days later I started to notice that the screen started to seem faded with a slight flickering on the dark parts but didn't take much notice UNTIL the whole phone locked.  I couldn't do anything with it except slide up to show the control centre but nothing worked on that screen, and I could also slide down the screen to show the Notification screen but again nothing responded on that screen either- all the buttons worked but I couldn't switch it off (at the time I didn't know the meaning of hard restart - which would have been handy at the time) so had to drain the battery down to 0% to switch it off (isn't it amazing how long 1% lasts!!).
When I had charged the phone it came on and the screen responded once again but the screen is more faded and flickers, looking at it is like having a photophobic migraine!
I have just now restored the phone to factory settings now and it is still the same.
I have not dropped the phone nor has the phone been near any liquids or anything that would harm it so I know it's not that.
    Can someone help please?

  • Iphone Screen Flicker Glitch

    Hi,
Recently, I've been experiencing an issue with my iPhone 5 that hasn't happened for the first month I've had it.
Two days ago, I was playing a game, when suddenly the screen dimmed and blacked out, and then showed a blank white screen with black glitchy lines all over it.  I pressed the home button and it got me out of it.  Today, it happened twice with two other apps.  The glitch also comes in the form of the screen flickering on and off really fast with strange colors and lines.
Is this a software or hardware issue?  Is there a fix?
By the way, this is NOT the keyboard flicker issue that others have had.
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore

  • Screen flickers with multi coloured lines... then dies

I really hope someone out there can help...
My iphone is only a couple of months old (bought it first day of release in Australia) and now it is starting to break down.
When i press the home key, the screen flickers and has these strange multi coloured lines accross it. Then sometimes it will then restart on the apple logo.
Is there a fix, or do i need to send it back? Will they replace it on the spot?

    Page 34 iphone users guide:
"If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
    problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
For more troubleshooting suggestions, see Appendix A, “Troubleshooting,” on
    page 132. "
