IPhone 5C won't power on

iPhone 5C screen went blank and became very hot to the touch.  Now no longer hot, but no screen, no response when plugged in to power source or computer and cannot turn on, reset etc.  Hoping it's just the battery which may be why the phone became hot to the touch.  Anyone had this experience?
Thanks!

The information herein may help - if it does not - I would take the device to an Apple store

  • Please Help! My iPhone 4 won't power on!

iPhone 4, out of warranty coverage, won't power on.
        1.    It has about 60% battery before it dead, but suddenly it became black screen and not responsive (like powered off).
        2.    Whatever I did, like "holding the power button and home button together for 10-25 sec and then pressing the power button again" etc. it just won't power on, no Apple logo!
        3.    But I can seen the "emergancy call" screen when I plugged it with my laptop and it just told me "No Service" at the upper left corner (status bar of iPhone 4).
        4.    iTunes can see it, but only when it was in Recovery mode or DFU mode.
        5.    I also tried to restore it to factory settings in iTunes, but it always gives me an error with various error codes, like 2001, 2006, etc. I also tried restore it under Windows or Mac, but was out of luck too!
        6.    Finally I bought a iPhone 4 battery replacement and replaced the old one with the new one, but nothing changed as if it wasn't replaced its original battery.
        7.    It keeps rebooting at every 10 min or so when It was plugged into my laptop without any operations (pressing any buttons).
        8.    It can be "powered on" only when it was plugged into a computer. It will IMMEDIATELY be in "dead mode" as long as I disconnect it from the computer (like taking out a battery from an iPhone that is powered on)!
        9.    Everything worked fine before it dead, I don't know what happened to it! I am so frustrated!
Please help! Thank you so much!

    USB Problem, possibly bad Cable.
I misread your original post "It keeps rebooting at every 10 min or so when It was plugged into my laptop".
I thought you had a boot loop problem, but you say "rebooting when plugged into laptop" this is not the typical boot loop problem, because you had the iPhone connected to laptop.
Connected by what, obvioulsy a USB Cable, Error 2006, is most often due to faulty USB Cable.
Clean that Dock Port Very Well especially with Isopropyll Alcohol, get a good USB Cable, try a different USB port on computer, or try a different computer.

  • IPhone 3GS, won't power on at all.

    Hi,
earlier today, when I plugged my phone in to charge, it started with the usual symbol for charging, from a flat battery, then after having to step away for a short while, I pressed the on button and a white screen would appear, no icons etc.
I tried to do a restore, but with ios4 now out it insisted on that being installed, and it failed, there was an error message with a code, but it came and went to quickly, and now it won't power on at all.
    Any ideas.

Good news, after searching the support section, and finding these http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_2 instructions about restarting, that got it back to the normal screen.
I wasn't planning to update the software straight away, but since I've got it now...

  • My iPhone 4s won't power on

My dad's iPhone 4s will not power on.  He says that last night, it had about 30% battery left, which he thought was odd because he hadn't used it much that day.  He plugged it in to the wall charger and went to bed (I believe that it indicated that it was charging at that time, but I cannot confirm that at the moment).  This morning, it appears to be dead and will not power on.  The first thing I tried was holding the power button and home button at the same time for about 15 seconds.  This did not boot the iPhone.  I plugged it into the computer and attempted to locate the phone using iTunes - nothing.  I also held the power button and home button while the iPhone was plugged into the wall outlet, and had been for at least 10 minutes.  I have also confirmed that the power cord, computer, wall outlet, and power block are all working, testing them with my own working iPhone 4s.  Does anybody have any suggestions, short of taking it in to the Apple Genius Bar?

Can you charge the phone by using the adapter? If yes, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
If it does not charge, make an appointment at the next Apple Store or get it serviced by contacting Apple:

  • IPhone 4s won't power down

Recently I have noticed that my iphone will not power down.  I go to turn it off and it goes through the process of shutting itself down and then after two seconds magically turns itself back on again.  After this happening several times I have tried pretty much everything to fix it.  I have tried resetting the settings, deleting data and settings, full restore and cleaned out the charging port but all to no avail.  The problem continues.  Has anyone actually had this problem fixed?  Would be nice to be able to power my phone off, especially with filights to catch in the near future.

  • IPhone 4s won't power on/off - shows Apple logo for 5-6 seconds and then goes black again.

I was trying to change my Game Center ID and got an error message that it couldn't connect to the server.  I signed out of GC and tried signing back in but got the same message.  Decided to power the phone off and I intended to turn it back on to see if that fixed the problem - now the phone is just cycling on and off.  Screen goes black, then the Apple logo appears for 5-6 seconds, then the screen goes black again.  I've tried plugging it in, unplugging it, checking to see if the lock button is stuck, all to no avail.  Any ideas??  Running iOS 7.

  • Iphone 4 won't power down.

When I select shutoff, I get the spinning wheel, as soon as it powers down, I immediatly see the white apple symbol and it powers right back up.  I tried a restore via Itunes. Didn't work.

Try holding both the on and off buttons(top and bottom of phone) at the same time and keep holding until the apple sign comes up then let go and wait, worth a try.
