IPhone 5s "searching" every single morning

A little background:
*I was an Altell customer that was grandfathered in to AT&T (When they bought Altell) with unlimited data and my service started on a brand-new AT&T iPhone 5s on February 3rd, 2015.
*Several weeks after the phone was activated, I dropped it and busted the screen. I contacted the insurance company and they sent me a phone at the cost of $200. That particular phone had an issue where the person I was talking to could barely hear or understand me. I contacted the insurance company and they sent me another replacement.
*That phone had an issue with the GPS not working correctly on any app that required it. On April 10th, I went to the Apple Store at and the very helpful Genius Bar technician gave me a replacement on the spot.
*In July, I woke up on a Friday morning and my phone was "searching" in the upper left corner. I contacted AT&T and it was not an issue on their end, but I was advised to go to the local store to get a new SIM card.
*That became an issue that required hours of phone time with AT&T's computer system not allowing them to update my SIM card because of some issue with an embedded plan feature that carried over from Altell and they had no idea how to fix it. They eventually got it taken care of, but my phone continued to give me trouble by continually "searching".
*It was at that time that I went to the Apple store to get help. I saw the same technician as in April and he informed me that my phone was out of warranty. I am not certain how that happened because my original 5S from AT&T was only activated by them on February 3rd. He said it seemed to have a hardware problem. He did, however, order me a replacement which came in the following week.
*When I went to pick up that phone the technician had a little trouble getting it to activate, but eventually did and sent me on my way. That phone continues to have the same issue as I originally had with the "searching".
Currently:
*I wake up every single day with my phone "searching". Once I go to the area of my house where it can detect our wifi, it either (1) finds signal (2) Asks me for my apple ID to activate (3) or I have to turn it off using both buttons and then turn it back on. (sometimes, I have to do all of the above)
*It had not been happening during the day, but today it has done it several times throughout the day
Things I have done to try and solve the problem:
*Replace the SIM card
*Complete restore without adding a backup
*Complete restore with a backup
*Update Network settings
I have done all of the above several times and continue to have the same problem. I also did the restore on two different computers. I am baffled as to what to do. I feel like I have done everything I could to just have a dependable phone and in February I had a brand new phone from AT&T. I even got desperate and wanted to buy a new phone outright only to find out I am looking at $500+ for a 5S unless I do a contract through AT&T. That would cause me to lose my unlimited data that I was grandfathered in with. I have felt somewhat bullied by AT&T and I feel stuck with what is a faulty phone that was suppose to be a "fix" for my troubles.

Just upgraded to ios7 and want to listen to BBc Global news podcast as I do every single morning and it is not there - where have all my podcasts gone? If I had known this would happen I would NEVER have upgraded.. Help!

As of iTunes 11.1 and iOS7, podcast files will no longer play in the Music app on the iPhone (this is very annoying, but that's the way it is).
The two easiest options are probably:
What Apple wants you to do: download and install their free Podcasts app onto your iOS device. In theory your podcasts, including the BBC news one, should sync onto the Podcasts app. This is supposed to "Just work", and if it just works for you, well, congratulations, but that certainly doesn't seem to be the case for most posters in this forum.
What I'm leaning towards: for all podcasts in iTunes, Get Info, and change them from "Media Kind = Podcasts" to "Media Kind = Audiobook". That will allow them to sync to the Music app. Then you'll have to arrange smart playlists or whatever to sync those (ex-)"podcasts" to your Music app.

  • Connection Timeout every single morning

It would be great if anyone could help me with this issue. Every night before I go to bed, I would shut down my macbook pro and modem. The next morning when I want to use my macbook pro with connection, there would be problems. Every single morning. This is getting annoying. I have to restart my mac, go to windows, and connect. After awhile, my macbook pro automatically detects the connection.
There is no problem with my modem as I could use the wireless with my itouch and Nokia E71. The only way to fix this is to switch to windows, and switch it back?
Thanks to any kind souls who offer to help.

It sounds like a DHCP server issue to me, Walter.
What happens (on the MacOS side) if, when the problem occurs and assuming your modem is acting as DHCP server, you go to System Preferences / Network, select your wireless network in the left hand pane, click on the "advanced" tab in the right hand pane, choose the TCP/IP tab and then click on "renew DHCP lease"?
    Cheers

  • Every single form of media stops on iPhone 4

Guys, heres my prob. The phone i have is an iPhone GSM 4 running 4.3.5, and just today morning, every single form of media (songs on iPod, on other music apps, videos on youtube, even taptap revenge) have this problem where if i play it, they will play for 2 seconds, and then stops. For videos, they will play and load normally for 2 seconds or 3 seconds, the the video will stop and all loaded content (the white line at the tip which means that those parts of the video is loaded) will dissapear, and when i press play again, the video will play for another 2 seconds. Same for other download apps (idownload) and games (taptap). I read a lot of forums and many people have the problem where their music stops playing randomly, but all my music just stops like 2-3 seconds after i play it. And headphones arent a problem since i tried with and without them. Also the problem occurred suddenly, as i was watching youtube just before the videos stopped 2 seconds after playing. This is very frustrating. Anyone with similiar problems and know how to solve this?? Soooooo many thanks guys.

    Hi taroli,
Where exactly are you getting the error message about the access rights & do you have the exact message that appears? Is it an iTunes error when you're trying to sync the data over?
The above would help isolate exactly where the issue is, would make sure you update iTunes and try another PC if possible. However if the issue is software related from the iOS then there will be no direct way to get all of that data across as any corruption would be saved in the backup file from the old phone, you would be able to sync content to the PC then sync it to the new phone however.
Here's a link to see exactly what backups contain and what's not stored there so you know what data you can preserve if the issue is iPhone related: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
    Hope this helps.

  • Anyone know how to resolve iPhone 4 dropped calls as I have a case on and it's still losing every single call I make at least twice and I'm sick to the back teeth of it?

Hi all I recently rang my service provider to complain about my
iPhone 4. Iv done this several times but they always fob me off. This time I kicked off and they told me I would have to speak to apple. I did and they told me there was nothing they could do as my phone was out of warranty.
Its really frustrated me cause it's a widely publicised issue that apple dropped a complete bollock allowing such a major flaw ever get released and then they have the cheek to use the warranty as a reason. This issue should not have anything to do with warranty as it's a fault
With every single iPhone 4 out there. There should have been a recall and the issue resolved. Im disgusted apple and I won't be buying anything from any of your products again.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this as apple want to charge me to repair even though it's there fault this issue exists?
    Thanks

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • HT1349 My iTunes keeps crashing every single time I open a Windows PC or Laptop and the "Matching with the itunes store" starts.  It's driving me nuts because I can't sync to my iphones or my ipad.

My iTunes keeps crashing every single time I open the software on any of my PCs and laptops.  Once the Itunes match features starts it's ony a matter of a minute or two before the software crashes.  I have tons of new songs that I want to sync to my ipod, ipad and iphones but can't get it accomplished.  Any suggestions??

Everything is updated!!  iPhone, iPad, iTunes and MacBook Pro...  All I am trying to do is drag content from my iTunes Library to the devices.  iTunes gets stuck EVERY single time!  What usually triggers the Non-Sense is when I am adding a 2nd file!
    Why does iTunes SUCK??
    1) Many items greyed out in the menu bar, for well over 2 years, maybe more!
    2) I Can't drag more than one piece of content from your iTunes library to any device (iPhone, iPad)
If you do it gets stuck for HOURS and HOURS in "Preparing To Update" and the little activity circle never completes, ever!!
I used to be able to drag over 1000 tunes, movies, etc. go have breakfast come back and it would all be on my device!!
Can't do it anymore, one song at a time, maybe an album at a time, or one movie, and that is it!!
If you do a 2nd item the other items stop loading and never continue!!
This is so BAD, I don't understand how they don't have this fixed yet!!
Please tell me I am not the only one!!
...and If I am tell me how to fix it!
    Very appreciated,
    Joe

  • HT201263 Hi, my iPhone 5s was disabled because i forgot my passcode. I was relying to 3 finger prints that I was saving before. I didn't know that passcode is required when the phone restarted. So I follow every single steps to recover

Hi, my iPhone 5s was disabled because i forgot my passcode. I was relying to 3 finger prints that I was saving before. I didn't know that passcode is required when the phone restarted. So I follow every single steps to recover my iPhone using i tunes.
Suddenly an iTunes pop up a message "that I must respond to iTunes on my phone, so that the computer could have access to the phone".
HOW COULD I RESPOND ON MY PHONE WHEN I WAS DISABLED ALREADY?
IS THERE ANY BUTTON TO BE PRESS AS CODE COMBINATION THAT STANDS AS MY RESPOND TO ITUNES?
    <Edited by Host>

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
    Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.

  • I have an iPhone 4s. Today I went on to my calendar app to find everything deleted from it. Then I went to make a phone call and every single one of my contacts has gone from my phone. Can I get them back and how?

Whoa whoa no need to go restoring stuff yet, once you've done that check to verify you have done what Overlook2011  IF that doesn't work for calendars ensure your default account for calendars is set to iCloud and in calendars that it is told to "Show all calendars"

  • IPhone 4S - iOS 5 - Something is wrong, phone is autocorrecting every single word... Can i reset the feature?? HELP!

iPhone 4S - Is anyone else experiencing strange behavior by the autocorrect? it's trying to autocorrect every single word... for instance "is" corrected to "OS". ***? it's happening on every single word!! Can i reset the feature?? HELP!
I have been an iPhone user since the first iPhone. In fact, i was first in line in 2007 at the Boston Apple Store at Chestnut Hill Mall.
I've never experienced such strange behavior by the autocorrect feature.  Granted there is the occasional annoying autocorrect, but this is out of control. I can't even make it through a sentence without getting frustrated and wanting to throw the brand new iPhone 4S accross the room!
    Someone please help!!!

OOPS!! This is a case of user error..
I turned on a couple keyboards looking for the Emoji keyboard last night... So my assumption is that the "keyboards > language selection" is linked to the dictionaries the system uses for autocorrect?  Well, whatever the case, I turned everything off except English and Emoji and that seemed to correct the problem.
If anyone else is having a blond moment, like me, consider user error first. LOL
    Have a good day!

  • I am not able to restore my iphone 4 after trying to install the new softwear. I tried every single possible way. What can I do?

I am not able to restore my iphone 4 after trying to install the new softwear. I tried every single possible way. What can I do?

There are two ways that a backup can become encrypted:
You chose to encrypt it, then forgot the password.
If you have company-provided MS Exchange access your IT department has the option of requiring your backup to be encrypted. The first time you backed up or synced after installing MS Exchange you were prompted for a password. That is the password you need.
If you don't have the password any longer there is no way to restore the backup.

  • Connecting Window iTunes Store appears after every single search character

    Hi Community,
if I use the search in iTunes 10.3.x Store, after tipping a single character always a separate window appears with the message "connecting to the store" - the window appear after every single character of a search e.g. "Madonna" and it will lasts minutes to get a result!
    It looks like here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1426841/itunes.png
Did anyone have a idea what to do?
    I've just tried following steps:
    clear iTunes caches
    delete iTunes plist's
    delete and reinstall iTunes
    perform pram reset
    latest iTunes updates
Nothing helps at all to cover this problem!
This problem exits since a few month (starting with iTunes 10.2.x), just starts from one day to another without any change at the OS.
Thanx in advance for any helpful ideas ;-)

Try clicking Store>Authorize This Computer in iTunes.
If that doesn't take care of it, take a look at this Apple document -> http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3297.

  • Iphone require me to local every single file.. why

Not sure is it something wrong with the database. I just re-installed leopard and I copy the entire iphone library from my backup.
When I opened the application it seems fine, all the thrumbnail and folder is there but when I click onto it. it said they cannot find the file and want me to local it.. and I have to do it for every single one..
I tried to delete the whole folder and import the file again but it said the volume cannot be found..
is there something wrong with my database ??

Well what's happened here is that you've referenced the file and the file's location has changed. When you reference a file then you take responsibility for file management, and one of the trickiest things to do is move libraries across volumes.
Using REFERENCED libraries you need to be aware of a number of potential pitfalls.
    1. Import and deleting pics are more complex procedures
    2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them
    3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
Always allowing for personal preference, I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organisers.
If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're concerned about finding the files there are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
As to getting our of your present predicament:
What version of iPhoto are you using? Your posting on the v5 forum, but you're on a MacBook and iirc the earliest version of iPhoto that came on a MacBook was v6. I ask as it makes a difference on the possible fixes.
    Regards
    TD
