IPhone 6 trade in

I participated in the iPhone 6 trade in program offering an iPhone 6 for free when you trade in your iPhone 4 or newer. I mailed in my iphone and the appraised value (promotion value) was $200.00 as expected. However, i received an email saying my phone was only valued at $20.00. I am very upset and i feel i have been scammed. i have written emails and called and verizon has not contacted me back. This has become a huge ordeal and i feel that verizon is not backing this promotion what so ever.... I dont know how to proceed when Verizon isnt pulling their weight and calling me back. I need a resolution

The trade-in program that you list is completely confusing. It states with the current promotion a iPhone 4S/5 are eligible and in working condition. One has to apply at the trade-in website and return the phone and wait 2 weeks to get the credit of $200. Then go and buy the new iPhone 6. So how can this be a trade when you wait for 2 weeks without a phone. Huh!!!!
Here is a solution - why not pre-order the iPhone 6, trade-in the phone in store with the new one(iPhone6). Tell me or show me where this is stated on any Verizon website.
Went to 2 VZ stores and each rep gives a different answer and none worked or true. All false or wait.
The question still remains, the credit has to be available right away when we buy the upgrade iPhone6. Else state clearly the credit $200 can also be applied to your account on monthly charges. The VZ Gift card clearly does not mention the credit can be applied to your monthly charges. So one has to buy devices/accessories. Imagine when I have 5 eligible lines which is pay upfront $1000+Taxes and then no phones for 2 weeks at the minimum. I can even tell this, when you have the credit, the phones will be sold out.
All of this trade-in is Sales pitch and nothing else. There is nothing there to help a long time customer and always given wrong answers.

thanks, a HUGE suggestion for you:  Please add that to the restrictions of the trade-in details online, it mentions that nowhere and is VERY deceptive.  Since at least 90% of 5c and 5s users are under a 2 year contract and both phones have been out just a year, there will be a majority of bitter customers who fell for the ad and will be taking advantage of the buy out options the other carriers are offering.

  • Is the iPhone trade in promotion over? and can I trade in my phone in the store instead of sending it in?

is the iPhone trade in promotion over? and can I trade in my phone in the store instead of sending it in?

The trade in and getting new phone are 2 separate events.
You could trade in your iPhone for $200, but then you need a new phone.  Since you are still under contract, even though you just sent in your IP4, you cannot get a reduced price iPhone 6.  You would have to pay full price, minus the $200 from your trade in.
Bottom line, to do what your thinking, you need to have an upgrade available.

  • Old iPhone trade in for iPhone 6?

How do I go about the free iPhone 6 with old iPhone trade in? Do I do this in stores? Do I trade in my old one before I preorder? Do I wait until they are available in stores? Can anyone explain this whole process to me?

Thanks so much for asking! We knew this would be a hot topic. Don't trade in your phone before you get a new phone. We don't want you to be phoneless.
You can accomplish with with pre-orders as well as upgrading in the stores.
Beginning on 9/12, for a limited time, customers can trade-in an iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c, and 5s from any carrier with the purchase of a new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and receive a $200 gift card (iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c) or $300 (iPhone 5s).
This can be done at the store or you can submit for the device trade in online at http://vz.to/17tYyaN.
It is imperative that you disable Find My iPhone http://vz.to/1wwKZbR prior to trading the phone in to us to ensure that you get the proper trade in amount.
The trade-in Apple iPhone must be in good working condition based on Verizon Device Recycling Program requirements:
      • Phone can turn on and off.
      • LCD screen is free of cracks and functioning correctly.
      • Phone and connecting ports are free of visible corrosion and water damage.
      • Battery is present.
      • Phone and charging port are free of cracks and dents, and are not missing any pieces or chunks (not including cords or accessories).
      • For iPhones running iOS 7 or higher, the Find My iPhone feature must be deactivated (turned off) before iPhone is traded in. -Tamara

  • IPhone Trade-In Promotion

A little over two weeks ago I signed up for the iPhone trade-in promotion and purchased a new iPhone 6 (as required). My iPhone 4S was "appraised" at $200 trade-in value. It is in mint condition.
I have been waiting for further instruction from Verizon regarding what to do with my 4S. Aren't I to receive some "return package", etc?
    Thanks!
    Bryan

Hello again, Bryan! Yes, you should be able to use your submission ID to get status. Try this link https://www.trade-in.vzw.com/status.php5#top and input your info. And I can certainly understand your desire to chat instead of call. Chat options are available through My Verizon Online (www.verizonwireless.com ) under the "Contact Us" link at the top right of the page.

No one here would know, as there is no one from Apple here.

  • My contacts are organized in different groups. An iPhone trade show app (Vinexpo) displays exhibitors infos and allows to create new contacts. Is there any way to save a new contact in a specified group instead of the contacts root? Thks in advance

My contacts on my iPhone are organized in different groups. I have downloaded a trade show app which gives infos on the exhibitors of the show. It offers to create new contacts from these info. Is there any way to save these new contacts in a specified group instead of putting them into the contacts root, where they are mixed with all the old ones? By the way, can we create a new contacts group directly from the IPhone, without having to go through the sync process with the PC?
    Thanks a lot in advance

Sorry, I forgot to bookmark the thread where the app was mentioned, but searching for "group" or "contacts" should bring a few results in the AppStore.

  • In-store end date for $200 iPhone trade?

Yesterday I spent over an hour on the phone calling local Verizon corporate stores and speaking with representatives from Verizon's customer support, telesales, and customer care lines. I have heard so many conflicting bits of information about this iPhone 6 trade promotion.
I do not want to send my phone through the mail. I have heard too many horror stories from people on these forums who sent in pristine, functioning phones that met all the criteria and had their $200 quote for their iPhone adjusted down to $36 because the appraisal indicated that the activation lock had not been removed, had some kind of physical damage that was not there when they placed the phone in the mailer, or that the phone would not "turn on" in spite of the fact that they had used that phone up to the very point that they activated their new phone and mailed off the old one.
So, I would much prefer to handle my trade in a Verizon Wireless Corporate store. I want to have my phone appraised in front of me so that I know I won't be left getting chump change for a perfectly good device.
I placed an order for an iPhone 6 Plus in a Verizon Wireless corporate store on 9/19 at 8:16 am. Because the store had received absolutely no stock of the iPhone 6 Plus in any color or capacity, I was forced to place an order to be shipped to my home and I was told that it should ship by 10/24. I was tired, and I was frustrated because I had waited in line for hours and none of the employees had the decency to tell any of the customers that they had never received the iPhone 6 Plus. I was also told at the time that I could trade in my old iPhone for $200 once I got my new device as long as it was within the dates of the promotion, and that Verizon would likely extend the dates of the promotion to accommodate the back-ordered phones. They told me to call back in a few days to find out if Verizon had extended the promotion
A few days later on 9/27, I called back and was told that Verizon had indeed extended the promotion but only through 10/15. They instructed me that if my phone was back-ordered, I should fill out the online form to receive a mailer that would allow me to ship my old phone in once I received the new device. Although I did not want to mail it, I filled out the form just in case. I am still waiting for prepaid packaging to arrive.
A few days ago I decided to check into these forums to see if any other customers had been having any trouble with this promotion. I was shocked to see a number of posters complaining that Verizon had received far less than the promised value after mailing in their old phone. I decided to call the store where I ordered my phone to express my concern and to see if I would be able to have device appraised in the store so that I could receive the $200 credit without having to take my chances with the mail-in route. The sales rep at my store told me that they absolutely would not take a trade-in unless I purchased a phone that they had in stock and made the transaction there, immediately. This is not what they told me 3 weeks ago. I asked if they had ever received any iPhone 6 Plus in the store since launch day. He said that to his knowledge, they had not. How am I supposed to purchase a device in the store that they have never even stocked?
I called customer service and spoke with a rep who was as confused as I was about this situation. She placed on my hold for a few minutes and then told me that as long as my device was purchased before 10/15 (which it was) I would be able to trade my old device in the store once I received my new phone. Just to verify, I called a second Verizon Wireless corporate store. The sales rep there told me that they would allow the trade in the store and would offer the $200 credit immediately, but only if I could do that before 10/15. After that date, he said that their system would only allow them to provide the normal appraised value of the phone.
Deflated and frustrated, I called Verizon customer support again. I explained my concerns and I was bounced from customer support, to telesales, to customer care, re-explaining this whole story each time. One of them even claimed to be absolutely certain that the date had been extended to 11/15 as stated in an email that she had received, although she wasn't sure why no one else had received this email.
Other people I've been speaking to have received even more conflicting information. Some insist that I need to have filled out the online form prior to 10/15 to do the trade in-store. Some say that as long as I have a proof of purchase dated before 9/30 I should be able to process the trade in a store. Some have even told me that I have up until 12/1 to do the trade.
I need to know, definitively, that when I receive my new phone around 10/24 that I can trade my old phone in at a corporate store for the full quoted $200 credit. I need a concrete answer.

    Promo terms:
Purchase IPh6 - you've already started the purchase of the iph6. Once you receive iph6, activate it, then clean out your old one.
On or before 10/15/14, either trade in the old device at a VZW Retail store or submit the device trade-in online at trade-in.vzw.com. If trading online you have to return devices to VZW by 12/1/14

  • Verizon iphone trade-in scam!?

I was surprised and infuriated this morning to receive an email acknowledging the receipt of my iphone 5 (appraised for $200 per Verizon's survey questions), and that I would be receiving a credit for $36!!!???  When I checked the reason for this, it states that the "phone won't power on."  THIS IS ABSURD.  I used this phone up until the DAY I sent it back... I followed their instructions EXPLICITLY... I even charged the phone before sending it back.  I took them WEEKS to acknowledge it was received and process it (no wonder it wouldn't turn on -  battery is dead!), and now I am getting scammed out of the value of the phone?  I immediately called the direct number for the trade-in department, where I was told I couldn't be assisted at that time, was told my complaint would be escalated and I should hear back within 7-10 business days.  I was provided a contact email for support and emailed them immediately with the details of my complaint - haven't heard anything back.  I am shocked by how this program is being handled... after reading other posts on line, it seems I am definitely not the only one.  I am requesting a credit for the FULL amount the device was appraised for, since there are NO defects or issues with it OR for my device to be mailed back to me IMMEDIATELY.  This has been a HORRIBLE experience and I have been a loyal customer for years... very disappointed.

happygojessie, It's surely not our intention to have you feel scammed in any way! Our Trade In http://bit.ly/GGnDDC team would be the best avenue to review the cause and provide details and options for the decrease in value for you appraised device. I'm glad that you were promised a contact back within 7 - 10 days. I'm confident this team will be able to fully resolve your concerns.

  • Verizon iPhone Trade In

On 10/31/14 "Dan" from Verizon called me to tell me I could trade in my iphone 4 for $200 if I order the iphone 6 and move from my unlimited data plan to the MORE Everything Plan.  On 11/3 another Verizon rep called me and we initiated the order.  I received the iphone 6 yesterday, 11/11.  Now I understand the $200 trade in ended in mid October and Verizon is not standing behind their sales respresentatives' pitch (lies).  I am a long time Verizon customer and find this atrocious behavior DISTURBING --- to the point that I want to return my new phone and all the accessories to Verizon AT NO EXPENSE TO ME and return to my unlimited data plan.  How do I accomplish this?

Susan you should get authorization before returning under the 14 day policy. Don't let the new phone get lost in the process. Since the offer was made to you may get an offer equal to the expired promotion and be able to keep your new phone. If you do return your new phone and want to get the unlimited data plan back make certain that happens - it's not something readily available to a sales associate to do. Document every interaction with Verizon, date, time, name etc.
I really like my iPhone 6.  I hope Verizon can make things right with you so you can keep it!

  • IPhone Trade In  - how long until received?

Mailed my 2 iPhones in over a week ago and still showing up as "not received". Does anyone know what the current timing is for Verizon receiving the phones and issuing the gift cards?

I am nervous as well. I was already frustrated that when I went to my store to do the trade-in promotion, that of course they were out of phones and explained my new iPhone6 would have to be shipped at a later date. Fine. That was I suppose expected. He also told me about how to get the shipping materials. Great. Did that, shipping materials arrived and my new iPhone shipped earlier than expected.  So on the same day I activated the new phone, I mailed -- exactly spot on to their instructions --- my old phone in their provided packaging. When I took the package directly to the post office, I did think this was weird that there was no tracking number. I am sure thousands of these phones in the same packaging are being shipped so who knows who might have sticky fingers when it comes to these being transported. I was NEVER offered and/or instructed to go to my store to exchange. I was told I must do it through this packaging. I also, guess was too naïve to realize I could have maybe created a tracking number at the post office. Here nor there, I shipped the phone on 10/3 and status of phone still says Not Received. I just want to know they have gotten the phone and the promotion is "in process". The instructions should have declared or suggested to obtain your own tracking. So of course I call, just to make sure the promotion is backlogged, and I get hung up on by automated message. This is terrible. So now I wait and hope my phone made it to the facility. I agree with comments that this promotion is poorly thought out and/or handled. To not even get to speak to someone, is beyond. I realize it's only been a week (as I see others have been waiting longer) but shouldn't they at least provide the peace of mind that your phone has made it to the facility and gift card will be processed when they can? Or, should I not be able to speak to someone?! They sure want to speak to me if I don't pay my bill! Really just want to know if my phone is there, & I can patiently wait for the gift card. Ugh!

  • Want to resolve your iPhone Trade-in promotion problem?

I have read enough sincere complaints.  It is time to get serious with Verizon and their Trade-in promotion. First do try customer service again or a Verizon Store manager.  If you have already give them another chance, document who you talked to, when, and what they said. You will need to show you tried to resolve the problem with them.   If you can’t work it out with customer service try this:
It will take a few minutes of your time but it will work.   First look up and print:
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/pdf/Notice_of_Dispute.pdf
It is two pages and you  have the right to Voluntary Mediation or Arbitration.  I personally would select Arbitration.  The form will have a link to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) www.bbb.org  and enter the address for the Bureau in Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 which is where Verizon is located.  Enter Verizon Wireless as the business name and you will see their BBB rating (as of today) is “under review”.
You can file the complaint online. Here is where you will need to document what you did, who and when you made contact with and what you are looking for to resolve the problem. Point out the Trade-in program was a “Promotion” and if they shorted you ask for the Promotion Value or if you got nothing ask for the Total Trade-In Value. You will need your Submission ID, make sure you include it in your BBB complaint and on the Notice of Dispute form.
When you have completed the Notice of Dispute you can mail it to the address on the form or email to:
      [email protected]
You may get a call or an email and I wouldn’t expect it to take long. The BBB will serve as the Arbitrator, but I expect that Verizon will settle with you before the BBB contacts them, so that they can say they resolved the matter – remember Verizon’s Status is “under review” with the BBB.
I am having a hard time getting my head around why Verizon would allow their trade-in promotion to spoil customer satisfaction with their best customers.  I also see this isn’t a new problem, there are complaints about the trade-in promotion well before the iPhone 6.
And I must emphasize I have long thought the individuals I interacted with at the customer service level were excellent and did all they could to address my issues. Do give them another chance.
I hope this helps you get what you should. Enjoy your new iPhone! I hope Verizon leaves my post up!

An update to my own experience.  I did send an email to to the Verizon Trade-In program from their web page. I selected Contact Us and then selected the check status of my phone from the menu and sent an email. I did receive a an email from them about a day later saying my iPhone had been received, and this morning I received a second email with the full $200.00 Gift Card.  I did this through chat customer service, thanks BrianP for the good customer service!
I did NOT have to file the Dispute form or a BBB complaint, my problem was resolved through chat customer service. It did take awhile, but was within the 6 week expectation time they originally set.

  • IPhone trade-in...can this be done at a verizon store?

I'm a new customer switching over to Verizon. I ordered two iPhone 6's at a Verizon store on 10/10 and the sales rep also helped me fill out submission forms to trade-in my two iphone 4 phones. I received the trade-in packaging to ship my phones to Verizon but have not yet received my iPhone 6's. I've read on here about a lot of people getting ripped off by the promotion - getting 0 or $36 for what should have been $200, even when they're phones are in fine condition, they followed the instructions to wipe the phones clean, disconnected find my iPhone, etc. I don't want to play that game with Verizon. On the instructions form in the packaging it says towards the bottom that the trade-in can be conducted at a Verizon store - IS THIS TRUE?
Just to be clear - I placed my order for two iPhone 6 phones at a Verizon store on 10/10/14 and also had two trade-in submission forms for my iPhone 4's created at that time (so I am before the 10/15/14 deadline). @

Welcome to our family nahameanson. I can understand why you're concerned, but I want to assure you there's nothing to fear. You could have traded it in at the store, but you would have had to purchase the device there, at the time of the trade in. That would mean, you had to trade in and walk out of the store with the new iPhone's. In addition, the instructions advise all our customers the appraised value will be honored as long as there is no damage and 'Find My iPhone' was completely disabled. A factory reset will not disable it. If it's not, the phone does not qualify for the appraised value.

  • Stonewalling on the iPhone trade in program- been calling every week since October.

@verizonwireless I sent 2 iPhone 4 at the exact same time in separate envelopes. One was received and a gift card was issued in September. When the 2nd phone was never processed, I started calling. Every time, I'm told this will be "escalated" and a customer service rep should call me in 2-3 days. I have never gotten a single call back or even an email acknowledging the issue. It's now the middle of January. When will someone contact me about this problem?

        Swattles,
This definitely is concerning. I am sorry to hear that you have not received your trade in gift card for your second iPhone. Unfortunately, we don't have much access to the trade in information. We do have a dedicated team that will be able to assist you with this further. They can be reached directly by calling (877) 835-2024 or you can email them by click on the Contact Us link here: http://vz.to/WIxRQ2.

  • IPhone trade in / pre-order with corporate paid bill

In trying to pre-order the iPhone 6, I get the following message.  I suspect it's because my monthly bill is paid for by my company.  Can I take my iPhone 4 to a Verizon store for the $200 trade?  Can I apply the $200 to a purchase of a iPhone 6 in-store (not a gift card)?  Can I pre-order with Verizon to ensure I can pick up the phone on 9/19?  ERROR:   We're sorry, but we could not complete your transaction for one of the following reasons:
You are not the registered account owner; please sign in with the Account Owner mobile number and password to complete your transaction, or update your profile to Account Owner in My Verizon.
You are not authorized to make changes to this business account; please contact your company's administrator to process this transaction.
You are attempting to activate on a prepay account, which is not available at this time.

        mcmullgr,
I am very sorry to hear of the issues you had with ordering your phone. Given that you are on a business account to trade in and order your device please contact your "Point of contact" for you business line/account as they would have access to process these orders for you.

  • IPhone Trade In

Really wish I'd searched through these forums before sending my phone in. Baited with the $200 promotion if you upgrade to the iPhone 6. Submitted the recycling appraisal on September 27. Received an email on November 7 thanking me for recycling and giving me the PIN for a $36 gift card. Immediately called the contact number listed on the trade in page and a representative told me that they were having a lot of issues with people leaving Find My iPhone on and assured me I'd receive an account credit for the difference.
Almost two weeks later and no credit. I call the trade in number again on November 19th, and after waiting 20 minutes to talk to someone, I explain the situation only to be put on hold and disconnected. From there I called customer service as suggested in a few discussions here. The first rep I spoke with said she had me all set up with an escalation, but because I wasn't the account owner, she couldn't submit it. Had myself added as an account manager and called back. New rep tells me that there is no such thing as an escalation and because the recycling department is a third party and nothing to do with customer service, she can't do anything. I then asked to speak with a manager. While the manager was able to give me a convenience credit of $50, I'm still out over $100 what I was promised and she wasn't able to give me any more information on the third party that handles recycling.
The trade in process was supposed to be simple. I could have sold the phone on eBay for much more and wouldn't be spending hours on the phone trying to get my money.
Verizon, you are hiring a third party that is stealing from your customers. Correct the issue with that company or correct their errors for your customers. Very, very disappointed.

    Well you live and learn
