IPhone is not showing up in iTunes. I've tried just about everything. Please help!
Everything was working just fine until I updated my iTunes to the latest version (11.1.3).
I'm using a PC with Windows 7. I have an iPhone 5 and a couple of different iPod. Now all of them wont connect to iTunes.
I've tried everything, uninstalling, re-installing, all the troubleshooting and tutorials on the apple support online.
Today I was on the phone for about 30 mins with the apple support staff and we couldn't get it to work.
My other PC, which also Windows 7 has the newest iTunes installed and all of our iPhones and iPods have no trouble.
After I install the new iTunes on this PC, my iPhone is apearing in the computer, but will not connect to iTunes.
iTunes diagnostic will say it is not finding any iPhone or iPod.
I've even removed all of my antivirus software, tried re-installing an older iTunes version, nothing seems to fix it.
The apple support staff I talked to said a few other people have had a similar problem and they don't really know how to fix it.
As far as USB ports, they should all be ok. I've tried other devices (printer, scanner, flash drive) and they are working fine when plugged in.
It must be something to do with the apple mobile device support....?

it could be the cord. i have that same issue with my phone and it was the cord. you're not supposed to store the usb cord (or any other electrical cord) in a bunched up manner. anyway, i played around with my cord by bending it in different directions and now the cord works and my phone is recognized again. if all else fails, best to buy a new cord.

I also have gone into the computer managment and stopping and starting the apple managment and iPod service. Still, nothing worked. It sounds like you have a bad USB driver for the phone. That software is installed with iTunes. Like I said earlier, you need to make sure to uninstall everything using that support document. That clears out all Apple software. Do that without the phone attached to the computer of course. Once you have reinstalled everything, then try and connect it. It should load the USB driver and begin to work.
Let me ask you this. How many pictures do you have in the camera roll? If you have a large number of them and you have not imported them to the computer, there could be a corrupt picture causing you some problems. While that was known in the past to cause syncing problems, I thought that was fixed. If after you uninstalled iTunes the phone was recognized as a camera, I suggest importing the pictures and then deleting them from the camera roll and try the process all over with uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. See if that helps. -
my iphone is able to charge when i connect it to my computor, but no matter what i do, will not show up on itunes. i have tried resetting both the computer and the iphone and nothing is working.

You can't have an iMac PPC (PowerPC) if you loaded Snow Leopard. iMac Intel are the only Macs that are compatible with 10.6. So the first thing wrong you are doing is posting in the wrong forum, or giving us misinformation.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to find out exactly what you are running. A G5 is a PowerPC. Intel is Intel.
Also look at the operating system in that window and update your profile.
What version of iTunes do you have?

If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only. -

When I run the Dr. Fone software it shows they are still on my iPad 2 but it costs 60-70 dollars. Is there another way to retrieve them? They were not backed up on Itunes like I thought they were. Please help!!
Recover software as you have described is pretty much your only option - keep in mind that if wait, some of the currently recoverable data may well be over-written and lost.
