IPhone "Liquid Indicators"

I wanted to see if anyone has run into a similar problem. My iPhone had an issue where the sound output from the headset within the phone was distorted. I called AppleCare and they stated that this issue would be covered and to send in the phone and they would send a replacement at no charge as long as there was not any liquid damage or damage beyond regular use. Note that I would have taken the phone to an Apple store but I live in a rural area 2 hours away.
Needless to say, I received an email indicating that my warrant was void and I was being charged $205 dollars for a replacement as my phone had "liquid damage". The phone was never exposed to water or any other liquids which has made this very difficult to swallow. I do live in hte mountains and am surrounded in snow and rapidly changing temperatures but I'm not sure what the indicator would be set off by these conditions. In addition after talking to a manager today I was told that the phone has visual indicators which I could have checked ahead of time, in which case I would have lived with the sound distortions. I was told that I could have found this information on the website and therefore was informed.
Anyway, at this point I'm very disapointed and I am hoping someone out there can help or maybe Apple will notice that a good amount of people are having similar problems. Maybe they will even change their policy and inform everyone on the phone on how to check for liquid damage...

If you do a forum search, you'll find that this has been discussed here ad nauseam, in numerous threads. Liquid damage can be caused by condensation, exposure to sweat and rain, as well as a myriad of other scenarios besides obvious submersion.
Regarding Apples policy about water exposure, this is a user-to-user tech support site and you aren't addressing Apple here. The other iPhone users in this conference have no input. In fact, Apple recently revised it's policy in that they used to charge the full (unsubsidized) replacement price - $599 for the 16GB. It's not likely they will modify this further.

How many Liquid Indicators have to turn red/pink to loose the guarantee?

So my power button on my Iphone 4S is not working. I went to the official service point, and they said they cant change it even thou the guarantee is still on, because the jack Liquid Indicator it red/pink (while the dock connector one is white). So my question is: how many Liquid Indicators have to turn red/pink to loose the guarantee? Can i demand them to check all 4 sensors, and then give me a new phone?

And it's absolutely not true that all four indicatores have to be triggered. I don't work for Apple, but I used to work for a self-servicing account and had access to Apple's troubleshooting documentation for the iPhone and it clearly stated that any indicator being triggered was sufficient evidence for invalidating the warranty. And again, an Apple technician just has to see evidence of liquid infiltration; no indicator needs to be triggered at all, though such a trigger is considered absolute proof.

IPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor and Dead Pixels

Today I went down to my carrier HQ. (Singtel, Singapore).
I went to spoke to the person at the iPhone servicing counter.
He told me that my iPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor has been triggered and it's now out of warranty.
And my purpose is there, to have my iPhone exchange as my home button is getting unresponsive at times.
And he told me that this is under Apple policy. When I purchase the phone, the salesperson didn't even told me about the policy and I wasn't aware of that.
So the main point is my iPhone Liquid Submersion Sensor and I didn't even drop it into any liquid, I don't know why but it's just unfair for me as an end user.
Question here, will playing apps like Ocarina activate the iPhone LSS? Only my bottom LSS is triggered, the top one isn't.
Also to recall, at the point when I'm buying my iPhone 3G last year, out of the box there is already a dead pixel and the person refuse to change a new set for me.
I'm in need of an iPhone urgently, anybody can tell me what to do?

Ocarina could trigger the water sensor since you could spit into the dock connector while blowing into the mic.

Unfortunately, liquid damage is not covered by warranty. You can get a replacement iPhone 4S from Apple for $199.

OBIEE Dashboard in iphone Business Indicators

one of my customer want to access OBIEE reports and Dashboard through i phone device
the integration has done with i phone and able to access the reports from shared folders by using Oracle Business Indicators
But I am facing with the below issues
1. How can I access Dashboards through i phone using Oracle Business Indicators
2.I want to drill from graphical reports which I cannot able to do it(due to png images)
waiting for your inputs

1. You can access Dashboards through iPhone using Safari browser.
2. You can't drill from graphical reports on iPhone.

How can liquid indicator be red in a brand new iphone 6 plus when it's never been wet?

I have a brand new iphone 6 plus that turned off in the middle of a call I was on. It never turned on again. I took it to the store, they inspected the phone under the direction of an apple technician and could find NOTHING wrong with it. I shipped it to apple to be repaired, they just sent me an email saying the liquid indicator inside the phone is red. No kidding, this phone was only out of it's case for about 10 minutes and that was only because it took me that long to go buy the case. I know there has never been liquid of any kind anywhere near that phone. They said I have to buy another new phone. What will stop this from happening again?

There is not an Apple store closer than 2.5 hours away from me which is why they had me ship it to them. The AT&T guy that was helping me was on the phone with Apple and he asked the rep where the liquid indicator was on the 6+ and the Apple rep told him it was in the headphone jack. He initially looked in the SIM card slot but saw nothing, which is why he asked. When he looked in the headphone jack he said "it's completely white" to the Apple tech. It's funny you mentioned the humidity and having it in the bathroom while showering. I never would have thought such an expensive and highly regarded phone could be effected by something like that, especially when it in a full case. However, the tech I "chatted" with a little bit ago actually said this:

Iphone 5 continously showing the charging screen even after the charger is unpluggrd

last night my iphone 5 was discharged completely and got switched off.when I plugged in the charger its showing the black screen with the charging icon and iam unable to switch on the phone.find the attached screen shots.please suggest.

Don't despair if iphone 4S won't recharge take to Tekserve

My phone stopped recharing this weekend.
Staff at genius bar claimed that it was due to water damage to my connector.
According to them:
-iPhone was dead
-unbacked up data was lost.
-$200 to replace phone.
Went to Tekserve, it turns out:
-water damage was minimal.
-only two pins were corroded.
-none of the liquid indicators were triggered.
-all Data could be restored.
-still covered by warrantee
The problem might be specific to Soho Apple store.
I was tempted to give up on the data on my iPhone, now I know better.

Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

Like the title says, I'm getting this error on my iphone 3gs. I've been reading thru some forums and other discussions about this and can't really figure out exactly what happened.
I just started getting this after last night after I installed some app that said it wasn't optimized for my phone or something along those lines, it was laying on the floor and a bottle of water kind of spilled around it and got it kind of wet, and I dropped it on the tile floor once all in the same night... I checked for lint and cleaned it out using a air sprayer which sometimes made it go away but came back eventually. I've also restarted my iphone and did the hard reboot of it but none of them really work. Also, I don't see the moisture sensor in the headphone jack pink but I looked in the bottom port and kind of under the chip looking thing, theres a small hole and in the hole I see a pinkish colored blob and I'm not sure if thats the moisture indicator also.
Pretty much I'm just trying to find out of this error is due to the water, falling, and app that I intstalled.

liquid can damage the iPhone. After that you might get a message about drawing too much power, or the iphone may not charge, and or show up in iTunes.
If you go to a Genius Bar, they can probable swap out your phone for a price.
There are liquid indicators on the iPhone. iPhone and iPod: Liquid damage is not covered by warranty has picture of where those liquid indicators are on different models of the iPhone.

Could corrosion on an iPhone4 connector prevent iOS from loading?

Story goes like this...
Plugged in my phone, iTunes told me there was a new version (6.XX) I needed to upgrade to. Plugged phone in, said need to go into recovery mode. Click recovery mode button, screen changes to Apple logo with progress bar underneath. Unplug phone and try to reboot, won't. Still stuck on Apple logo with progress bar and getting Error 9 pop-up window on iMac. Check all the forums, do everything they say, plug phone back in try again, same thing.
Call Verizon support talk to level 2 tell them all of the above. He says sounds like an iOS problem since the screen was getting hung up on the Apple logo with progress bar.
So I fully charge the phone and send it back to them in a box with the Apple logo & progress bar still showing (I couldn't even shut the phone off) so when Verizon recieved it they would see the OS was hung up.
They send me a new phone. Then today I get an email they're charging me $300 for the replacement phone because of "water damage with corrosion or wet"
When I shipped the phone to Verizon I check both the headphone jack & dock connector and there were NO red lines to indicate it was wet and if you see the attached photo, the one THEY took, they don't show that either. The phone NEVER got wet. I've been an iPhone owner since the beginning and have never had an issue like this.
The phone charged perfectly and showed up in my iTunes window when connected. I feel this is an iOS issue. Any thoughts?

The Geniuses at my local Apple Store have been using this (more recently it seems) to void Warranty, even though the White Liquid indicators are White and unaffected. They look for the bluish/green discoloration (corrosion) of the dock pins. The reason some things function and others do not, depends on which pins are damaged, or are shorting to other pins.
Regarding the liquid indictor in the dock, the photo is too dark to see it, or it is Red. The indicator is dead center just below the dock mid rib. The photo is too dark to see it clearly.

IPOD TOUCH WILL NOT TURN ON, charge or sync

ipod touch 3rd gen won't do anything - just a black screen - already went through all the reset steps still nothing - liquid indicators are not activated - tried charging plugged into wall and computer - tried the holding the home and power button for over 10 seconds.

Alcohol will not trigger the liquid indicators.
Have you tried rubbing it with a micro cleaning cloth? That is realyy all you can do.

ITouch... MAJOR ISSUES

Here's what happened...
This summer I was in a condo in Florida (it was air conditioned) and was listening to my iTouch and then proceeded to lay it down on my bedside table. When I returned from eating that night I found it in a puddle of clear oily stuff inside and outside of the Incase rubbercase I carry it in. I cleaned it off and turned it on to find liquid spots in the screen and you could clearly see the backlights at the top and bottom of it. EVERYTHING works about it touch, sync, backlights. But the image is horrible because it seems like the liquid in the LCD ran out.
So I sent it in for repair expecting to get a new one and instead I get it back as is with a note that says I pryed it open... I called Apple support and they say that I pryed it open and there was nothing that they could do about it and even though the liquid ran out of it THE LIQUID INDICATORS AREN'T EVEN RED!! I don't understand how they came to the conclusion that I pryed it open when I wouldn't even know where to start. Even though the screen has liquid damage and it was running out of it the liquid indicators didn't even change.
I don't understand what happened or why they figure I pryed it open. It's a 2nd Gen 32GB ($399) and I have absolutely not half a reason to open it up or the desire to. Can someone please help me or at least give me some ideas on what might have happened to it. I'm 18 years old and in college and I don't have any money to get a new one at all so thats out of the picture and I would prefer the people that I bought the iPod and the warranty from to fix it.

The "liquid" in an LCD cannot run out, not in any quantity. The total amount of "liquid" in an LCD display the size of that in the iPod touch would be less than a single drop.

The immersion sensors may not respond to whatever that liquid was. They're designed for water, primarily.

Perhaps there were some sort of marks on the case that indicated to the technicians that the case had been pried open.
You will have to convince Apple that the liquid is indeed from inside of the iPod, something that's going to be difficult, I think, since I'm not aware of any component in an iPod that could release any significant quantity of liquid under any circumstances. I can't say it's impossible, though. All I can suggest is taking the iPod to an Apple Store and talking directly with a Genius. I think it unlikely, but perhaps you can indeed get them to replace the unit under warranty.

Water damaged iPod touch success story... kinda.

So my 32 GB iPod touch 4G got wet recently. It powered off during the incident and 3 hours later, I rushed home to submerge it in an air-tight bag of rice. All of this was on a Saturday.
3 days later, Tuesday, I opened up the bag and plugged it in, and it started charging fine. Once it charged long enough to go to the lock screen, the front facing camera started fogging up, and it was a pain getting it to slide across to unlock the thing. After many failed attempts, I finally got it, and noticed the backlight was going crazy. It was flickering from low to high brighness like a strobe light, so I cut it off and placed it back in the bag for another day then opened it up Wednesday with the same results.
I eventually left it in the bag for a full 2 weeks then opened it up, and it worked like new. No problems.
Over the next couple days I noticed the battery wasn't holding up, but later saw that I'd charge it fully, then after not using it for 30 minutes or so, it would shut off completely and the only way to bring it back was to plug it to a computer. It would show the "dead battery" screen for a few minutes, then going to the lock screen it'd have a full battery.
Now when I plug it in all I see is the "dead battery" screen then the apple logo back and forth. The lock screen never comes up.
I found sites where I can replace the battery myself but I'm not sure if it's the battery anymore. And if it were a problem with anything else would sending it in to Apple solve it. I've heard all they do is replace the battery and back cover.

The can tell by liquid indicators that the iPod was wetted. It appears that the water damaged some parts and it may be more that the battery.
