IPhone reboots every 15 minutes after iOS 6.1.2 upgrade

"Reboots" is the best way to describe it. Every 15 minutes or so, my iPhone suddenly goes to the Apple logo over black and back to my passcode screen (though doesn't stay on the logo as long as during a manual reboot). Doesn't matter if the phone is sleeping or being used. This started happening after I updated to 6.1.2 directly on the phone. Unfortuantely, I didn't do a manual back-up before updating as I've been relying on automatic iCloud backups.
Any advice?

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the red slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red  to delete apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • Lose connection to wifi every few minutes, after iOS 7.1 update

I just recently updated my iPad to iOS 7.1
My iPad is the model w retina display, cellular capable but with the data plan currently disabled.
Immediately following that update, I can no longer stay connected to my home wifi.  My connection lasts from 30 seconds to maybe 10 minutes, seemingly dependent on the amount of load I attempt to put on the connection. (i.e. downloading a movie or any video will drop the connection in seconds)
I have updated the firmware on both my wifi router, and my wifi range extender.  Connecting to either gives the same results: a disconnect within minutes.
Other devices can connect and stay connected on both the wifi router and the wifi extender.  Resetting the router, the extender, my ipad, or any combination yields the same erroneous results.  Airplane Mode, wifi off then back on, and rebooting the ipad all yield the same results.
This iPad was able to maintain a connection before the iOS 7.1 update.

  • IPhone 5S fingerprint reader fails after iOS 7.0.3 upgrade

    Hi all.
I recently updated my iPhone 5S to IOS 7.0.3 and ever since then, I am struggling to unlock my phone every time. I press the home button and then I used to just leave my finger on the button and it would unlock. Now it just doesn't seem to recognise my finger is even there.
I lift my finger off and put it on again and nothing. I lift my finger off and actually press the button again and leave my finger there and sometime it unlocks, sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't even say "try again" it simply doesn't recognise I'm trying to unlock it. I'm ready to chuck the bloody thing at the wall!!
Has anybody else experienced this problem since updating to IOS 7.0.3?

I bought my iPhone 5s a few days ago. It came with 7.0.3. It works 100% of the time, but people were having trouble with it when they went from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3. A lot of times, when doing an upgrade, the fingerprint scanner problem can be solved with some simple troubleshooting skills:
    Troubleshooting steps:
First, if you have never rebooted your phone after the update, it helps to reset your phone. This is just pressing and holding the home button + power button until the apple logo comes on the screen (the phone will power off and then on. When Apple logo appears, you can let go of both buttons).
If fingerprint scanner is still hit and miss, you should redo your finger prints by go to settings->general->touch id & passcode->touch id. Delete all saved fingerprints (swipe to the left and press delete). Add fingerprints again.
If it still doesn't work or still hit and miss, you can always reinstall the ios. This can be googled. For me, it is too much trouble, so I go to the next step..
Finally, if that's still no good, you can always take it back to the apple store. The warranty on it is a full year so it is free for them to just look at it and tell you if it's a hardware problem. I know cuz I have replaced my iPad, iPhone, and even my macbook this way. No, I don't do it on purpose, but apple products has flaws too. Especially if it is a hardware problem, I need it replaced - and since it is still under warranty, it is replaced for free. So I don't hesitate to stick it in their face. Well, don't be mean about it though. Just say it like it is without the attitude and they will do what they can to help you fix it.
Tips: when you replace your phone, they may or may not give you a "refurbished" phone. That's the only thing I don't like about replacing my apple things. BUT since iPhone 5s is so new, the chances of you receiving a refurbished phone is quite slim... Or so I was told. So don't wait.

  • HT201210 iPhone 4s cannot be restored after IOS 7.0.2 upgrade

My iPhone 4s prompted me to upgrade to IOS 7.0.2 today.  After I initiated the upgrade the phone went to sleep.  When I tried to use it, it displayed the "connect to iTunes" message; once connected to iTunes on my iMac, I got messages that it detected an iPhone that needed to be recovered.  I tried several times, trying suggested ideas each time -- I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes on my iMac; I pressed both the sleep and home buttons til the apple appeared and then tried to restore -- but none worked.  iTunes seems to have lost the name of my iPhone.  First time I tried to restore the device list on the left listed its real name but subsequent tries displayed only "iPhone" and I got messages that it couldn't be restored due to an unknown reason with a code 4013.

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone 4, stuck in a boot loop, and each time I try to restore, I get hit with message 3014 when it starts 'Restoring iPhone Firmware".
I have rebooted several times, updated all software, redownloaded the ios file several times over etc, but still phone unable to restore, stuck in the 'connect to itunes' mode.

  • WRT54G reboots every 20 minutes

I recently just switched from astound to comcast and astound worked fine 100% uptime no d/cs or anything...When we switched to comcast the router reboots every 20 minutes. I called comcast and they said everything is fine on their end. I tried power cycling everything and still no luck. When i connect directly to the modem I get no d/cs. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any possible help, and sorry for my prolly horrible grammar. =]

hi... connect the computer directly to the modem, go to www.linksys.com/download and download the latest firmware for the router, connect modem >> router >> pc, logon to router's setup page, open I.E. and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 it would ask for username and password...put "admin" (default password) as a password and try reflashing/upgrading firmware on the router, after reflashing firmware on the router reset it and reconfigure it according to ISP settings and try reducing MTU to 1365 on the router...check whether it makes any difference or not and let me know the results.

Check that the HDMI cable is seated correctly at each end and try another cable if the problem persists.

  • Fresh installation of 2012r2 on PowerEdge r620 rebooting every 10 minutes

Installed 2012r2 Standard Evaluation on a Dell PowerEdge r620 today. In response to a failing 2003 DC. It's rebooting every 10 minutes or so with an lsass error.
A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c0000005.  The machine must now be restarted.
I'm doubly concerned as in the process I raised the forest level from 2000 to 2003 (We still have 2 2003 DCs, one of them the struggling one) I've promoted it to DC and transferred the FSMO already. I've got the weekend to get it sorted...
It's my first server install and I just did a straight bare metal install without installing Dell drivers. I'm thinking this may be my problem...
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Neil

After reading so much about the irreversibility of raising the forest level once offline DCs have been added again I was cautious about adding the previously downed DR DC. However the FSMO roles and AD replication were struggling so, after some consideration,
I brought the offending DC back online (AD has not been actively maintained for more than a couple of years...)
Initial signs were good. Replication was happening.
However, my process involved replicating across to the new server data from more than one source (The org had suffered from server spread over the past few years). In the process of consolidating the DFSR namespaces and shares, and removing legacy FSR replication
I hit problems with deleted namespaces and replication groups lingering and not being able to be deleted. I tried to follow various diagnostic and recovery methods. See this post. My main concerns continue there... :-
Bah. Can't post link. Account not verified yet. Will edit in due course. Check my profile for the DFSR related thread...
Not wishing to jinx it but the AD looks fairly stable now. Slight concern is repeated system log entries indicating :-
The DFS Namespaces service has successfully initialized the shared folder that hosts the namespace root. Shared folder: *********
Would be great to get rid of them.

  • IPad2 reboots every few minutes

My iPad2 recently began to reboot every few minutes of use.  It has been reformatted, all added apps removed and the battery allowed to completely deplete then recharge, all to no avail.  Any suggestions?

If you are near an Apple Store, a trip to the Genius Bar.  If you are still under warranty they can replace it.  If you are out of warranty, they may still be able to replace it for a fee but it will still be less than full retail cost.

  • IPhone 3GS Audio Volume Decrease After iOS 5 Update

The Audio/Volume on my iPhone 3GS has Decrease SIGNIFICANTLY After iOS 5 Update.  Oddly, the volume of the ring is fine, and as lout as it used to be, and as loud as all other audio should be, but when using any 3rd party applications, the volume output is significantly less (about 40% less) than it used to be.
I am NOT the only person to experience this problem.  Apparently, the issue has been around since this past summer, when iOS was still being developed / tested.  There is a post about someone experiencing the same issue, here:
    http://modmyi.com/forums/general-iphone-chat/768919-ios-5-low-volume.html
And before you ask .. I did a language change and reset, and I am still experiencing the SAME issue.
Any help or advice with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    In advance, thank you.

I have a similar or related problem with iOS5/3GS and volume:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16413964#16413964
In my case I can hear nothing from the internal speakers although I can use headphones. The volume slider bar is unavailable unless I plug in headphones.

  • IPhone 4s dock connector functionality after iOS 7 upgrade

I recently decided to upgrade my Apple iPhone 4s 64gb CDMA model to iOS 7, prior to the upgrade I had no problems at all.  The upgrade was successful but after the reboot the device was no longer being recognized by iTunes on my Macbook Pro.  The phone would charge without a problem just not readable any longer by iTunes.  Thinking something was wrong with iTunes on my Macbook I tried attaching it to my Mac Mini that previously worked but the same thing occured so I tried swapping cables but no change in status.  So I figured let's reboot the device to see if that fixed it, but it would no longer respond to holding in the power button, so I did the trick with holding in the home and power button to force a reboot which worked.  However when it restarted it just keep rebooting, meaning it would show the apple logo at startup then restart and kept repeating this process in a loop.  It seems that the device is stuck in a recovery mode and each time I try to connect it to iTunes it will briefly recognize the device but will reboot which produces an error message.
I tried a few third party software solutions that are known to force the device out of the recovery mode but none of them seem to work on it. Not sure where to go from here, my thought was to replace the dock connector but just not sure that is the problem given it was working perfectly before the iOS 7 upgrade.
    Looking for sugguestions?

  • Since dowloading Ios7, my ipad cannot connect to 3G and when I have no wireless or 3G connection, it closes down and reboots every 2 minutes or so. This happened in central Manchester and also on the Virgin Train from Man. to London. Totally unusable.

Since downloading IOS 702 I cannot access 3G. Also when I have no access to wireless connection my ipad closes down and reboots every couple of minutes. I was trying to raed a book on a train from Manchester to Euston and had to give up. I found that auto-lock had defaulted to 2 minutes. I changed it to never but it made no difference.

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • N96 crashes every 5 minutes after update to 20.050

    Hi there guys,
Just updated my N96 from 12.043 to 20.050, I love the Hotmail e-mail support and the look of the new Music Player and Youtube Flash lite, but the fun only stays for 5 minutes, then it crashes and reboots again...    I don't know why it's doing this, I installed the update right.
The screen turns white, then black, then white again, then the Nokia logo come's in the screen, then it opens the home screen without asking for the PIN-code... This happens every 5 minutes!!!
It's pretty annoying so can somebody help me with this please? I'm using KPN network in the Netherlands by the way... There is no illegal software on it, no cracks, hacks or shacks, just Google Maps, Windows Live Messenger, NS Reisplanner Xtra (train-travel-planning app) and Nokia Step Counter... I'm using about 9GB of memory at this point: some 3GB of music and 6GB of video's and movies and other stuff...
Please help me with this one guys!
    Thanks in advance,
    Casper

These phones sometimes need to be reset after a firmware update.
First thing to try: a "restore factory default settings". Simply dial the number *#7780# and supply your security code when prompted (it'll be the default 12345 unless you've changed it). No data of yours will be erased, you'll just have to redo your profile/theme/etc. settings.
If that doesn't work then you'll have to consider the possibility that one of the pieces of software you use is responsible for this. Uninstall them one at a time, restarting the phone after each uninstall, and see if the problem persists.
In order to make this as painless as possible I suggest you buy a low capacity microSD card (1GB is more than enough). Insert it into yout phone and format it in the phone. Then, in the file manager, do a backup of your contacts, messages, calendar events and notes.
You'll need to re-install the software previously installed because this is going to reformat the phone's internal memory (C: drive, not the E: drive with your 9GB of data on it).
With the backup done, dial the number *#7370# and supply the security code as above. The phone will restart in its factory state.
Restore your contacts etc. from the memory card (the procedure is in the file manager in the same place as the backup).
Install the software packages you use one at a time and check that the phone is still working normally.
