IPhone SDK UIButton enable/disable

I'm new to iPhone and Mac programming, but have GUI experience on other platforms. I'm working on my first app now with SDK beta 7, but can't seem to figure out how to show/hide a UIButton (or any UI object for that matter). In other frameworks (QT as an example), there is usually a bool API which enables or disables UI constructs like buttons or labels. I don't see the same ability here in the documentation, but maybe I don't get the UI framework just yet? Anyway, hope this is simple. Thanks.

Thank Tim,
I think you are right and let me say I am the the employee of that carrier... Do you have any idea how can I contact Apple concerned department with whom I can share the carrier update release and network information. So that they can certify the network. There are many customer, which our sales team is handling who are coming with iphone 5s or iphone 5c with the hope that it will work on our LTE network.
We have launched new LTE Network by name of SWIFT 4G LTE ( www.swiftng.com ) in Nigeria. It is pure TDD-LTE network on Band-40...
Your guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks

  • IPhone App Management: Enabling/Disabling Apps, Ordering by Usage Frequency

    Hi Folks.
Does anyone know whether Apple or a 3rd party is moving to more sophisticate app management. I've got over 350 apps installed on my iPhone 3GS and it would be great if:
    1) there was an option for ordering apps by usage frequency
    2) there was a supported mechanism for app "playlists" (dumb or smart) which could control sets of apps currently being installed on the iPhone.
AppManager by Allan Marcus seems part of the way to a 3rd party solution - needs enable/disable functionality in a "playlist" fashion. Strange since playlists are already part of the rest of iTunes, why not extend the paradigm to apps?

  • ICloud preferences and other apps hang on iPhone, can't enable/disable services to sync. How to force-disable iCloud on iPhone?

    Hi,
I've been having a lot of problems since upgrading to iOS5 and enablind iCloud on my iPhone 4:
    - I've had both Contacts and the Phone app freeze repeatedly. Contacts often freezes when going back up to the "Groups" view, and I have to force-quit it to continue using it. I've also had repeated crashes of Phone when trying to view contacts.
    - Whenever I try to enable or disable services to sync in the iCloud settings screen, it hangs forever in the twirling "Turning on/off" notification. I've left it running for at least an hour once and it never finished. I have to force-quit the Settings app, and the change I request never gets applied.
I've tried restoring the phone from backup and also resetting all preferences, but the problem persists ("reset all preferences" doesn't seem to erase the iCloud settings).
I'm this close to resetting my phone to zero and reinstall everything by hand, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows of a way to forcefully disable iCloud on the iPhone, or anyone has seen these types of problems before.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can see what space is available to you on the phone at settings > general > usage > storage. It's the phone that needs the space (a little over 3 GB) to install iOS7.
Back ups or the space used by them isn't really relevant for installing iOS7, but that's not something you can see at iCloud.com.

  • HT201401 Need help to enable my 3g iPhone which has been disabled due to forgotten passcode

HI....Need help to enable my3G iPhone which has been disabled due to forgotten passcode.Thank you

If you forgot your passcode, restore the phone on the last computer it was synced with. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode and restore as a new device.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.

  • IPHONE 4S - Enable/Disable 3G

I have an IPHONE 3GS and I have buy the new IPHONE 4S With iOS 5.0.1.
With IPHONE 4S I don´t find the option to enable/disable 3G connection option.
Is there someone who knows how to disable 3G network when you have IPHONE 4S (iOS 5.0.1.)

"settings -> general -> network -> "cellular data""
This will not turn off 3g.
It only restricts the network data.
If Cellular Data is turned off, all data services will use only Wi-Fi—including email, web browsing, push notifications, and other services. If Cellular Data is turned on, carrier charges may apply. "

  • TS1559 i have problem with my iphone as it is disable and need to get all my data as the phone needs at least 40 years to enable accessing it

I have problem with my iphone as it is disable and need to get all my data as the phone needs at least 40 years to enable accessing it

If you have never connected the phone to iTunes and backed it up or used iCloud to backup your data, it is lost at this point.
The only way to get back into the phone is to restore it.

    Hi,
In pageflow definition, "Train Stop-->Skip" property controls the enable/disable state.
If Skip value is true (it can be controlled with EL expression) than related link and button in train components are disabled.
They are enabled other If Skip value is false (It is default).

  • There is no enable/disable 3g option in iphone 4s, when will we have this option

There is no enable/disable 3g option in iphone 4s,
It is missing.  2G provide me that better cell coverage and less battery use.
When will we have this option? İ dont need 3g in my daily usage, rarly i need to use 3g to get big files.
Do we have this option in ios 5.1 we must have this!

"When will we have this option?"
There is no reason to believe that this will ever be an option.

  • Can an iPad with iMessage enabled receive a text from an iPhone that has iMessage DISabled?

Can an iPad with iMessage ENabled receive a text from an iPhone that has iMessage DISabled?

A "non-iMessage-enabled text) would be an SMS message. iPads do not handle these and they do not go through an Apple server to be "converted". SMS is a function of a cellular carrier, not Apple.

  • Your Session has Expired - iPhone SDK 3.1.2

I am new in development. I had my activation done. I try to download from my Mac - Safari and Firefox and I have this error.
    Your session has expired.
Please return to the ADC Member Site and attempt to download the file again.
If you feel you received this message in error, please reference this code when contacting the ADC Support Team: V2
I had been trying for almost a week and still have this error. I had submitted my problem to Apple but no reply from them. Anyone can advice on this.
    regards

Updating - my issue was solved:
I've noted that when I was trying to download it through my VPN connection (which connects my internet with my office internet), I forgot to check the "Send all traffic over VPN connection" under the "system preferences - network - My VPN Connection - Advanced...". After checking that this option was "enabled" and all of my network traffic was passing through the VPN, I succeeded downloading it. By that point it must be something wrong with my ISP "Telefonica Espana - Madrid".
It turns out to be a "intercept proxy" which was implemented by them. As I'm a new subscriber to their service, by default, they redirect my internet connection through this proxy, which they "offer" as a "security" service in order to avoid spamming, fishing websites threats, "parental control" over the web and finally as a "ad blocking proxy". My actual ISP (telefonica espana) offers it by default to their new subscribers and after 30 days they charge us 3,50 EUR/month for this proxy service called "Canguro Net Plus". Actually this clumsy proxy service was blocking my download requests on http://developer.apple.com/iphone. Even after disabling the "Canguro Net Plus" service through its web page configuration, it was still forcing my internet connection to pass through their clumsy proxy. I had to call to their customer service number to request it to be cancelled (They will only accept to cancel it if you call them by phone). After that I'm now able to download the iphone sdk 3.1.3, 2.82 GB in 45 minutes.
So, if the workaround mentioned above, regarding the change from http to https, doesn't work for you, I suggest you to try a VPN connection in which you must be able to access the internet as well. As a diagnose action you can even try to download it through the "Tor" (The onion router) just to let you verify that through "Tor" you are able to download just a small part of the 2.82 GB. "Tor" is really slow therefore you won't be able to download the iphone sdk (as I said - it's only for a diagnose action). It'll just indicate you that your ISP probably is blocking your download with a clumsy "intercept/cache/transparent proxy" service. Maybe you are able to detect that your ISP is applying some kind of proxy service over your internet connection. Just google it or contact your ISP customer service.
    Good luck!

Fixing up some logic around pauseWhenHidden (there were some bugs) and also changing some logic around enabling/disabling.  Also fixing a small documentation bug on VideoPlayer2.scaleMode.
When a video component (or one of its ancestors) becomes disabled, the video pauses.  When it becomes re-enabled, we do not play the video.  This behavior is baked in to VideoDisplay and does not depend on the pauseWhenHidden flag.

    Thanks Erik,
If nothing else, this huge list of updates and fixes, shows clearly that the Logic Dev team is working hard on fixing and improving LPX to a major degree.... and from the list of fixes done.. show they do read the bug reports submitted!
    As an aside....
I recall how all the 'naysayers' prior to LPX (and in some cases, since...)  were proclaiming how Logic was dead, the team was being disbanded, we won't see any further development, the Dev team doesn't listen or care... and so on....... I wonder where those people are now?

  • How do i enable/disable call waiting option in iphone5

How to enable/disable call waiting option in iphone5. setting --> phone does not show up call waiting / call forwarding options

I've gone through your message completely, if you do not have the Call Waiting option under Settings > iPhone it means your carrier does not let you access that feature on the phone. Contact them and see if they have dialing codes to turn it off and back on.

  • After upgrading to 3.1 - 3G Enable/Disable option gone!!!!!!

    Hi all!
Wow - so much trouble for a software upgrade
I've upgraded my iPhone 3G (legal one - read: not jail broken or anything ) to 3.1 and now the switch which will enable/disable 3G network is gone ( I just don't get it ). I've tried to do a restore to a new phone: no luck, I've tried to downgrade to 3.0 ( iTunes 9 ) ... absolutely no luck whatsoever. This is just great. Now my iPhone will constantly flicker between "E" and "3G", and thereby consuming a lot of battery just switching between networks.
    Anyone else with this issue?

    Hi all!
I think I have a 'fix' for the issue. As it turns out, my local carrier "3" are somehow experiencing this on several iPhones at the moment starting this morning Sep. 10. So, I guess I'm not the only one. Which is nice.
So, it's a carrier problem, not a messed up update.
