IPhones unable to receive from office Calendar (Leopard server running 10.5.8)

Hi and thank you in advance for looking at this vexing issue.
I have a client who has his office calendars running on Leopard Server (10.5.8.) Most of the office is running Mac OS X 10.7.5 and each person has a personal calendar and there is a calendar for the whole office. All of the computers are able to access these calendars with no issue. I am unable to view the contents of the calendars on iPhones, yet when I create the account (CalDAV) on an iPhone, it confirms (after telling me it is not using SSL, which is correct for the set up) I don't get anything on the iPhone. I am able to create events on the iPhone, and they will show up on the computers in the office, but nothing comes back. Events that were already in the account on the server never show up, and new events created on the server don't come in either.
I have tried this so far with two iPhones, one is a 5 running iOS 6.0 and the other an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0.1.
Am I doing something incorrectly? or is this not supposed to work the way I am trying to do it? Or is something wrong with the set up?
Thank you again for any help.

That is the way IMAP should work.
Like gMail or iCloud, both of which can be setup on both Macs...
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password

    Try this link:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=157733
Check the following registry keys (or similar)
    HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\DSDT\LENOVO\
    HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\FADT\LENOVO\
    HKLM\HARDWARE\ACPI\RSDT\LENOVO\
They should be in the form of your model number without the hyphen and not TP-xx___
In my case I had to change the TP-71___ that was showing in my registry to 87445BU.  Once I did this the software worked without a hitch.

  • How to get error information back from Office Web Apps server?

I'm developing a web application with an embedded Word iframe that interfaces with an Office Web Apps server; I am trying to implement the MS-FSSHTTPB protocol for my WOPI server.
More details here. When I send a bad response back to the OWA server it stops making requests to the WOPI server and sends the following error message back to the browser client: "Sorry, there was a problem and we can't open this document. If this
happens again, try opening the document in Microsoft Word."
Is there a way I can get additional information about what went wrong so that I can correct it?

Yes, this is closely related to SharePoint.
I'm trying to embed a Word editor in our web app. The Word iframe is served from the OWA server. It typically communicates with a SharePoint server to receive information about the document its trying to display.
I'm trying to implement the SharePoint portion. The servers communicate via the MS-FSSHTTPB protocol (among others) which I'm struggling to implement. When I send a response to the OWA server that it doesn't like then it stops replying. I'm wondering how
I can retrieve the exact error the occurred.
I believe I originally posted this question to Open Specifications  >  SharePoint Server Protocols.

  • Printing Word documents to PDF from Office Web Apps Server 2013 yields inaccessible PDF files

I have Office Web Apps Server 2013 SP1 with March 2015 CU applied. The version shows up as "15.0.4569.1506" using Todd Klindt's
method. When anonymous users view the Word documents online through the Office Web Apps, they have an option to print them to PDF. The PDF file that gets generated as a result isn't accessible
(i.e. it isn't WCAG-compliant). using Adobe Acrobat Pro to check it I can see that it is missing tags, for example. The source Word document was made fully accessible from the point of view of Microsoft Office accessibility tools.
When viewing the same document in Word Online in Office 365, I get an extra option  "Download as PDF". The PDF document produced is accessible. If I save a Word 2013 document as a PDF from within the Word editor, it also generates accessible
    PDF.
I was wondering if the reason for the accessibility problem that I have misconfigured my on-premises Office Web Apps,  or perhaps the accessibility compliance isn't built in yet. If the latter is true, I was wondering if someone could indicate whether
or not this is on the list of upcoming CUs.
    thanks in advance.

Just check my WAC install, no this is likely an Office online only feature, at least at this point in time.

Have you checked the SMTP protocol log on the Exchange server? Do you see the 5xx status code in the log when a message is sent to the @bcd.com domain?
If you see the 5xx status code for that domain, check the "Accepted domains" and verify that you didn't make any typos in the domain name. If it looks okay then stop and start the transport service on the Exchange servers and retest.
If you don't see the 5xx status message for that domain you should check the machine firewall.bcd.com and verify that it's configured to accept e-mail for the @bcd.com domain. I'm guessing that the firewall.bcd.com machine is acting as a SMTP proxy and not
as a SMTP relay. However, if there are SMTP log files on that machine you should check them and see which IP address is returning the 5xx status message.

  • AD users not downloading user template from AD+OD Leopard server

I have an OD master Leopard server that is also bound to AD for user accounts. The AD users are added to OD groups. The OD groups have managed preferences including mobile account settings. When I log into the AD+OD bound Leopard client as an AD user, the user template is not copied from the Leopard server to the client. The user template does get copied down to the client if I log into the Leopard client as an OD user in the same OD group. I noticed that the home folder path of an AD user is set to use SMB instead of AFP. I have tried to change this in WGM to use the AFP path but the setting does not hold after I click save. Always reverts back to the SMB home folder path which is the same as the AFP path except for the SMB at the beginning for example: smb://servername/networkusers/username instead of afp://servername/networkusers/username. I have set the AD plugin on the clients to use AFP but that still did not work.
Has anyone had any luck with this? Using a Leopard OD master server also bound to AD to host synced mobile accounts. On Leopard clients the user template is copied down to the clients from the server when the AD user first logs into the client?

    Hi Fred,
That worked! I thought it was something on the AD side not knowing the correct afp home folder path. And I thought the mobile account settings were enough using WGM. Never thought of also needing to set create mobile acount on login for the AD plugin but that makes sense.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Help - Migrating from Tiger to Leopard Server via Apple Maintenance Program

Hi, I'm to upgrade an Apple Xserve running Mac OS Tiger to Leopard. There was an Apple Maintenance Program purchased for this Xserve. I plan to do a clean install on the server, however, I don't know where to find Leopard's serial number or if I need one or if I can do a clean install via AMP.
This was the first AMP sold in my country I think and the VAR was a little clueless, it wasn't our plan to upgrade until now and I don't know who to ask.
I have the media, but it wasn't the one that apple sent, the VAR just made me a copy of a Leopard Server. I have the license program agreement, there it is stated the License Number (amp - xx -xxxxx format), the License Date, the Sales Order # and something label PO.
Could somebody please point me out how should I proceed? The server is being moved from its intended use so a clean install is no problem (and prefered).
    Thanks in advance
    Rafael

You should get the media directly from Apple complete with "xsvr-"serialnumber in an envelope in the (snail-)mail.
We have customers which didn't get the serial or DVD in the envelope so we had to contact Apple again.

  • Corrupted file unable to remove from trash because it is running.  Unable to shut it down.

I had recently converted some video tapes into dvds as well as disks that I could download onto the computer.  I did not realize that I installed a dvd into the drive instead of the downloadable disk when I asked the computer to download the files.  Instead of not performing the task, the computer partially download the dvd.  Now I have this file on my desktop and when I put it into trash I can't remove it from trash because it is running.  In other words there is a corrupted file that I have no way of stopping or deleting.   Any suggestions?  I could leave this file alone but since it is running I'm not sure how much memory it is diverting.

What is the name of the file? If you open Activity Monitor, set to All Processes, then is it displayed in the Name list?
Restarting kills all running processes. If this is not a system file, then you have it installed somewhere that is launching it automatically upon startup. You should look in your /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/ folder or your /Library/LaunchAgents/ or /Library/LaunchDaemons/ folder for a file related to this one. Until you kill that one you will not be able to delete the one are having trouble deleting.
    Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
    A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN.
    B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
    C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
    ~/Library
    Press the Go button.

  • Migrating from Tiger to Leopard Server

    Hi,
I'm running two Mac Mini OS X Servers. One running Tiger and one running Leopard.
All my virtual hosting is done on the Tiger server.
I want to move everything over to the Leopard server, upgrade Tiger to Leopard (clean build) and then share accounts and sites between the two.
I guess I'm probably going to have to go down the Open Directory route - is that correct?
Does anyone have any good pointers of where to start this migration? Can it be done?
    Any input gratefully accepted.
    Cheers,
    Stu

  • Snow Leopard Server running extremely slow all of a sudden!!

Hi, I'm not a qualified server technician but am currently trying my best to run a server in a Secondary School! Please help, need to fix ASAP.
So basically we've got a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard server which has become incredibly slow in the past week. Nothing has changed in our department to trigger this. Here's everything I know so far...
    - If I try to log on to the admin account when "Some Network Accounts Are Available", log on will take under a minute. If I try to log on to the admin account when the light goes green and "Network Accounts Are Available" log on will take forever and eventually just crash and which point I have to just force a shutdown and try again.
    - When I can log on, some aspects of the computing seems fast and other aspects are really slow. For example, a few programs open as soon as I log on no problem, however a simple spotlight search or trying to open Sytem Preferences will crash the computer completely.
    - Have tried booting in Safe Mode, and everything ran fast and how it's mean to but once restarting and booting normally the problems remained.
Sorry for the lack of knowledge!!
    Thanks in advance.

Your comment indicates "crash the computer"?  Do you mean that OS X Server itself fails, and you have to reboot?  Or that the application crashes, and you have to restart it?
The following are some general approaches toward gathering some data:
Launch Console.app from Applications > Utilities and see if there are blocks of repeating errors.
Launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and issue the following harmess, diagnostic command:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
After entering an administrative password and possibly seeing a one-time informational message about sudo, you should see some network configuration information and then an indication that no changes are required, or that there are DNS or network errors.
Boot from the Snow Leopard installation DVD and run a volume verification pass using Disk Utility, this from the Utilities menu of the installation disl.
    FWIW...
If the applications or OS X Server are crashing, then you're generally heard toward either a reinstallation of the software, or a hardware repair, or quite possibly a combination of the two.
Forcing a hard shutdown can lead to corruptions, depending on exactly what's going on when the power drops out; that's probably best left as a last-resort approach and one best avoided.

  • Mac OS X Leopard Server - Run BootCamp on a Xserve

    Hi all.
Can I install & run BootCamp (to use Windows) over a Mac OS X Leopard Server version on a Xserve?
    Thanks in advance.

The Xserve's firmware doesn't appear to support Boot Camp usage.
