IPod touch v4 and Apple remote - not all routers are compatible

My iPod is working well with my old router at home
I can connect Apple remote from my iPod to iTunes in my computer and use all the functions
I recently bought a new router but I soon found out that the remote application is not working with it
Similar problem at the office, I can still pair the remote with the software but the control won't be possible
I suspected the router was the reason so I plugged back the old router at home then all came back normal
Is there a way to know which "signal" and/or "port" is used by the remote application in the network system so I can enable it?

I surely did read and try.
I also saw another thread were another user said to enable DHCP and turn off Mac Adress filtering which I also did in the two routers that are not compatible.

Hello, I have an ipod touch 2g and I can not download the application or change the version. made for me a solution please. and thank you

The hardware on the 2G does not support an iOS version higher than 4.2.1. If you want apps that require a higher version you will need to get a newer model iPod.
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

I went to charge my ipod touch lastnight and it would not charge. There was nothing on the screen no life in it. Well today i plugged into my laptop and itunes came up saying it is in recovery mode. Im trying to restore it but nothings happening on my ipod got the apple sign on the screen and the bar going across but its emtyand theres nothing loading, itunes also says waiting for ipod. Someone please help  cant live without my ipod,

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I recently bought the i pod touch 4 and noticed that not all of my songs transferred over-The songs that didn't, say original file cannot be found. What should I do?

I recently bought the i pod touch 4 and noticed that not all of my songs transferred over from my i tunes library-The songs that didn't, say original file cannot be found, when clicked. What should I do? I tried using the tips on this site, but they weren't too helpful...I downloaded the songs from cd's and purchased them from i tunes.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I doubt that your music files are gone. Do a spotlight search and look for The Cure. What likely happened is that for whatever reason, your iTunes lost track of the location of your songs.. which happens on occasion.
What you need to do is go to the folder where your music library is - where the song files are - and check to see if they are there. If so, then go into your iTunes preferences and in the 'Advanced' pane put in the location of the folder where it says 'iTunes Media folder location'. iTunes should then be able to 'see' the songs again.

  • Home sharing iMac and MacBook Pro: not all songs are playable

    Hello
I set up Home Sharing between my iMac and MacBook Pro so that I could stream the music that's on the iMac to the MacBook Pro. On the MBP there are no songs, all of them are in Apple Lossless format on my iMac. I first tried to use "‘share my library on my local network" but because I wanted the play count to go up as well I chose for "Home Sharing". Setting up was simple. After all preferences were adjusted, I opened iTunes on the MBP and it immediately found the shared iMac library. There's now only one problem: not all songs are playable. Some don't even start. How is this possible and what do I need to do to resolve this?
FYI: the iMac is connected via ethernet to my cable modem which sends a wireless Wi-Fi signal to the MBP. Signal quality is excellent.
Also, is it possible that playcount is only available with Home Sharing and not with "share my library on my local network"?
    Thanks!

It very well could be the antivirus app, most are intrusive and debilitate rather than enhance performance and should be removed using the developers instructions. You haven't really told us anything useful such as any settting you may have changed. However if you began working backwards resetting any changes and uninstalling the apps added since the performance issue started then you probably will find your issue.

  • I have an iPod Touch 2 and it will not 'boot up'.

I have an iPod 2, which is 4 years old now and when I switch it on I get the Apple symbol and then the rotating circle and that is where it stays.
I am guessing there is a problem with 'booting up' the iPod, anyone else had the same problem?

  • Ipod Touch - recovery and restore does not delete unknown Restrictions Code

Hi, I'm sure this has been answered hundreds of times already.
Having put into recovery and restored on numerous occasions, I find that ipod is still in '10 failed attempts' on wanting to enter passcode (whether it's Restrictions or Reset).  All info i find says to recover/restore etc. and this will return to factory settings, but it isn't.
How can I get rid of this locked passcode please?

Normally you should be able to put in a new passcode during this process:
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

  • Can you take an ipod touch into and apple store to have them fix a cracked screen without them having to sent it off to get it repaired?

I cracked the top left part of my ipod touch and i was wondering if i could take it into a apple store and they could repair it there instead of sending it away for repairs.

For the posts in this forum, Apple does not repair your iPod except maybe for a battery replacment.  They will exchange it with a refurbished iPod. for this price:

  • Ipod touch 6 and iPad 2 not anymore listed in itunes (Vista)

    Good morning,
neither my ipod touch (6. generation) nor iPad 2 is listed in iTunes 10.5.3.3 (Windows Vista) since 1 week. No system change done.
iPad is visible only if I choose WLan Snc.
All USB ports work with other devices. Both iPad and iPod are visible in Win Vista.
    Every idea is welcome...

I meant 6 th generation ipod nano touch. Ok anyway, problem was solved by complete deinstallation of iTunes only. After new installation everything is okay without havng touchsd hardware, cables etc.
    Thanks anyway...

  • Hello i lost my ipod touch 5g and I can not find I lost 8 months ago and i try to find whith  find my iphone I need help please

    help

The battery would be dead by now
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

Yes, I'm testing with push enabled apps (AIM), and Push on Settings is turned on. I tried rebooting, iTunes doesn't detect any problem, everything appears OK, but no Push Notifications whatsoever.
    Any help ?
