Is a device's versionStamp supposed to change each AXL:getPhone

I'm trying to synchronise our call manager with our other databases using AXL, and I was hoping I could use the versionStamp property of a 'Device' to be able to tell whether the device has been updated on the CCM since I last checked. According to the AXL documentation, versionStamp is "UUID changed each time the device is updated.".
If I look at the value stored in device.versionStamp using direct SQL queries, this seems to hold true - the UUID changes only when I actually hit the update button for that record.
However, when I read it via AXL with a getPhone request, the value is different every time I make the request. I have verified by using ethereal that the CCM is the source of these apparently random values, and not an XML parsing problem.
This doesn't seem to be to be the correct behaviour, unless I misunderstand what versionStamp is for, and certainly, it isn't consistent with the value stored in the database.
I'm using CCM 4.1(3)sr1 if that makes any difference.

I have the exact same CCM release here and see the same behavior. Considering that what AXL return doesn't match any device in the device table my guess is that it dynamically generates that value, probably your average uuid generation with a seed based on the current time.
The description in the documentation is wrong imho.. that description applies to uuid fields. So basically you have two options.. either you follow up each getPhone with a executeSQLQuery(SELECT device.versionStamp from device where Name = SEP...) and then replace the versionStamp in your AXL response with the one in the SQLQuery response, or instead you use the uuid as the documentation describes.. the uuid remains the same until an update is performed and isn't that what you're really after?
But leaves the question what the versionStamp in a getPhone request really is for.. I guess either there's a bug since the value returned is random, or the documentation doesn't mention what is supposed to be going on.

    Good afternoon!
I definitely understand any disappoint you may be feeling from this situation. Verizon Wireless do not have any such policy regarding a limit of replacements we issue, the warranty is not ours but rather the manufacturer and I apologize for any confusion. This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if it frightens you, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • How can I prevent the settings on iMessage from changing each time I sync the devices with iTunes on our iMac?

Each time I sync an apple device (iPad, iPad mini, iPhone) with iTunes on our iMac the settings on iMessage and phone settings change. We use the same Apple ID and have different e-mail addresses and phone numbers; however, each time a device is sync'd on iTunes on our iMac, the iMessage settings and phone settings are changed so that we all each get each other's text messages and phone calls. After the device is sync'd/charged, I have to go into each device (all of them somehow update when only one is sync'ing) and re-set the settings to what we want. How can I prevent settings from being changed each time?

Okay I've tried safe mode.  Let it run down to 98%, plugged it in, locked the screen, and waited.  A few minutes later, the screen came on showing the 100% icon at the top right, full battery icon just to the left of the time, 100% text to the left of that.
I'm not going to do a hard reset until I have confirmation that this is not normal behavior for the phone because that's going to take hours of my time and gigabytes of data transfer to get all of my media and apps back on the phone and configured.
After all my griping, I do have to give credit where it's due.  This phone is much more efficient than my Galaxy Nexus.  I left the S5 running in WiFi hotspot mode while on battery last night.  It still had over 50% left on the battery.  The Galaxy Nexus would be stone dead after about 4 hours.  I can live with that if I have to but I'd really rather be able to leave it on the charger at night.

Try tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your devices (Settings > Store if they aren't on iOS 6+) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on them.

  • Advantage of Alternative UOM as supposed to changing the UOM of material

    Hi Friends,
What are the advantages of using alternative unit of measure as supposed to changing the UOM of material? &
what are the necessary activities in SAP if we change the unit of measure of the material?
    Any pointers.
    Regards

When you want to handle the material quantity in other units other than it's Base Unit, then alternate unit should be maintained.
Alternate unit is decided on the basis of area of it's usage.
If A material is having base unit PC and you want to sale it in KG then mainain the Sale Unit as KG by providing the conversion between PC and KG.
In the same way Order unit is the unit when you want to procure the material in the unit other than Base unit.
For maintaining alternate unit, it's corresponding conversion with Base unit is necessary to maintain.
You can change the base unit of material unless and untill no transactions are done on that material.

WHen you go into iMessage settings at the top it will say your email account you are using for iMessage, press that and it will give options. Press sign out and it will use your current phone number if you're using an iPhone, if you're using an iPod then it will turn iMessage off. P.S. it doesn't sign you out of your itunes account for iTunes and all that, just for iMessage

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.

Finder batch file rename function. I have multiple files I want to rename, that have a date in their name in the mm/dd/yy format. The slashes seem to freak out the batch rename function and it won't work.  I took out the slashes and worked fine.  Any workarounds that would help me avoid manually changing each name?  I should point out that I want to leave most of the name intact just change the first word in each name.  Also the files I'm working with are in PDF format.

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • Two JTables changing each others data

I have the following swing setup:
    JPanel mainPanel with GridLayout(0, 1)
    JPanel tablePanelA with BorderLayout
    JPanel tablePanelB with BorderLayout
    JTable tableA
    JTable tableB
The tables are 2 rows by 7 columns, and are two distinct instances of a class i wrote that extends JTable. They look and act the same, but there are two seperate references. They both use JComboBoxes to allow selectable data in each of the 14 cells.
    I then have:
    tablePanelA.add(tableA)
    tablePanelB.add(tableB)
    mainPanel.add(tablePanelA)
    mainPanel.add(tablePanelB)
This sets up my main panel with the two tables on it looking how I want it to look. Heres the problem. Whenever I change the data in a cell in either table, the corresponding cell in the other table changes to that same data item also. For example, if i change cell 0,4 in table A to "None", then cell 0,4 in table B will also change to "None". You only see the change on a refresh of the panel, by changing windows to and from the panel, etc. Any ideas on why my tables would be changing each others data?

    Any ideas on why my
tables would be changing each others data?It sounds like you're sharing a single TableModel instance between the two tables. When one table updates the model, it fires a TableModelEvent which notifies both JTable instances to update their views.
