Is a DSN (ODBC-derived) accessible from the Eclipse Java SDK?

I'm in the process of evaluating alternatives for implementing a (seemingly) straight forward Crystal report in the Eclipse environment.  I can access a report (.rpt) that uses JDBC data source connection, but not DSN (ODBC) data source connection.  Is it possible to access a report from the Java interface that has a DSN data source?  (the objects in my program want to access the data source as a JNDI)
Thanks,
Roger

  • Admin Console should not be accessible from the Internet

    Hi!
I am using WebLogic 6.1 and by default the Admin Console runs under the same port
like the deployed web applications. As a matter of fact, the Admin Console can
been seen from the Internet! :(
Is there a way to start the Admin Console with another port? Or is there any other
solution that the Admin Console is only accessible from the Intranet but not from
    the Internet??
I couldn't find anything in the documentation related to this topic.
    Thanks in advance.

One solution I use is to place an Apache WebServer in front of the BEA HTTP server and use the Apache/WebLogic module to proxy requests.
Apache is much more configurable, robust etc etc as a webserver. If you configure a specific Apache Virtual Server for connections to your Weblogic server you can use Apache ACL's to control access to the console via specific IP addresses only.
The ACL in the Apache Virtual Server configuration could like something like this.
    <Location /console/>
    order deny,allow
    deny from all
    allow from 10.0.0.1
    </Location>
    hope this helps.

  • Oracle VM 3 - only one virtual host accessible from the network (DELL R410)

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle VM 3.0.3 and created the network for Virtual hosts. After installing two systems on the server only one is accessible from the network at a time. The second one is not.
Have no idea how e to enable the second host to reach a network.
    Maby You have some idea?
    Thanks,

    Hello!!
I'm not an expert but /OVS/Pool should be the directory naming of OVM 2.x, replaced by /OVS/Repositories/REPOS_ID in OVM 3.x
The "wierd directory name" it's the unique ID that OVM assigns to Repository, infact if you go to VM Manager in Repository tab and edit your current repository you will see this ID: 0004fb0000030000839f2d2faa5014c3
Under "0004fb0000030000839f2d2faa5014c3" folder, as you noticed, there are the classic folders ISO, VirtualDisk, VirtualMachine, etc. where files are placed.
I've never tried to import a pre-packaged template from Oracle but I would try importing it as an assembly from http/ftp! ;)
    Hope this helps.

  • Security Issue: How to create a derived role from the Base role

    Hi All,
Kindly let me know how can i create a derived role from the base role?
    Please respond at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ramesh.

Go to PFCG and Create a role with desired Name.
In the Description Tab, on the Left Side there is a text box for "Derive From "
    enter the Base role.
Now your newly created role is derived from the Base role.
Save the newly created role and again run PFCG, enter the Base role name and execute.Select Edit role. Go to Authorization tab.
    Edit Authorization.
In the Menu Adjust Derived -> Generate and Adjust derive
This will Generate the derived role.
Now you may go and check the authorization in the derived role.

  • Design Studio 1.4 SDK:  Issues when launching from the Eclipse IDE

    Hi,
I am receiving various errors when launching Design Studio 1.4 from the Eclipse IDE for SDK development.  All of the components appear in the Component panel as expected but I can't drag and drop any of the SDK components (or standard components for that matter) onto the canvas.  When I launch Design Studio 1.4 independently of Eclipse everything works fine (event though I still see come errors in the Console).
I'm hoping the community can provide some guidance to help resolve the issue.  The details are documented below:
    Environment:
    Design Studio Version: Release 1.4 SP0 Patch 1 (64-bit)
Eclipse Version: Java EE IDE Luna Service Release 1a (4.4.1) - 64-bit
    Java Run-time Environment: Version 8 Update 25 (64-bit)
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Eclipse Configuration for DS SDK:
    Target Location:
    Target Environment:
    Target Run Configuration (Main):
Target Run Configuration (VM Arguments as per DS SDK Developer Guide):
    Steps to Reproduce Error
    1.  Launch Eclipse
    2.  Launch DS 1.4 from Run command in Eclipse
The following screen appears immediately after launching DS from Eclipse:
At this point the DS error log is as per the attached DS_Log_After_Eclipse_Launch.txt file.
    3.  Create a new blank Application from the Application -> New menu.  This time additional error messages appear as shown in the screenshot below:
It's not possible to drop any standard or SDK components onto the canvas because the internal browser doesn't appear to have been instantiated due to the above errors.
At this point the DS error log is as per the attached DS_Log_After_Eclipse_LaunchAndAppCreate.txt file.
    3. Return to Eclipse IDE
The Eclipse Console displays the following errors:
The Eclipse Console Log is as per the attached EclipseConsoleLog.txt file.
    4.  Launch DS 1.4 Independently
The following errors also appear when I launch DS 1.4 independently of Eclipse but it in this case everything seems to work fine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mustafa.

I have configured the connector on the WAS as needed.
The problem is that when I run the application I receive an Unauthorized error on the connector URL.
If I open this URL on a browser I receive a pop-up for UID and PWD and when I enter the same UID and PWD I used to configure the connector I am able to login and see the WSDL.
    Any ideas?

I've never tried using BI in WebDynpro !!!
But i foond one posting on the connection problem https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=955524&messageID=2133396

  • Site not accessible from the Load balanced web front end server - sharepoint 2010

    I have a production environment with 2 WFE's(sp-wfe1 & sp-wfe2), 2 APP's and 2 SQL clustered VM's.
2 WFE's are load balanced using hardware load balancer.
An A-Record(PORTAL) is created in DNS for the virtual IP of the load balancer which points to the 2 WFE's.
A web application is created on the WFE's on port 80.
alternative access mapping is configured and the load balanced record "http://PORTAL" is used under the default zone.
Under IIS I have edited the bindings for the sharepoint site at port 80 and added the HOSTNAME as PORTAL.
Result: The site is accessible from outside the server and works fine.
ISSUE: The site is not accessible within the WFE's(sp-wfe1 & sp-wfe2).
When I browse the site from the WFE's server it ask for the credentials and when I enter the credentials and click OK it ask the credentials again and again and in the end displays a blank page.
Kindly help me in this issue because I am clueless and couldn't find anything helpful on the internet.

I have never really worried about this too much but what has everyone else done about removing the AMS welcome page from webroot? I had one of my team mention that they can browse to it from the web
    Should we be concerned?

    Hi stu_j_u,
Welcome page allows playback of some sample content out of the box. It should not be a concern. One can remove the index.html page and the associated assets from webroot, if desired.

Hook method called to modify a view just before rendering.
This method conceptually belongs to the view itself, not to the
    controller (cf. MVC pattern).
It is made static to discourage a way of programming that
routinely stores references to UI elements in instance fields
for access by the view controller's event handlers, and so on.
The Web Dynpro programming model recommends that UI elements can
only be accessed by code executed within the call to this hook method.
@param wdThis Generated private interface of the view's controller, as
provided by Web Dynpro. Provides access to the view controller's
           outgoing controller usages, etc.
@param wdContext Generated interface of the view's context, as provided
by Web Dynpro. Provides access to the view's data.
@param view The view's generic API, as provided by Web Dynpro.
           Provides access to UI elements.

Hook called to handle data retrieval errors before rendering.
After doModifyView(), the Web Dynpro Framework gets all context data needed
for rendering by validating the contexts (which in turn calls the supply
functions and supplying relation roles). In this hook, the application
should handle the errors which occurred during validation of the contexts.
Using preorder depth-first traversal, this hook is called for all component
controllers starting with the current root component.
    Permitted operations:
    - Flushing model queue
    - Creating messages
    - Reading context and model data
    Forbidden operations:
    - Invalidating model data
    - Manipulating the context

  • Which jar file(s) from the Eclipse plug-in to use

    Post Author: supermonkey
    CA Forum: JAVA
Hi,I downloaded JRC plug-in and realized there are 47 jar files for CR. Now I'm wondering how many of these 47 files are being use when running CR from Java? My Java application resides on a server and users access the application thru web start. If users have to download all 47 jar files every time they run the application, it would su*k for them very much. Now does anyone know which jar files are actually being use during execution? The document here http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/TechnicalPapers/cr_xi_r2_jrc_deployment.pdf.asp told me that I only need about 20 or so of them. I plugged into the classpath or my test application and errors occurred. Hi Ted,Thanks for the reply. But what I was interested in knowing was how many of the Eclipse-CR plugin jar files does CR require for a successful execution? Or do I have to import all 47 jar files? thanks

  • Is it possible to get the Source from the Compiled Java Class File?

    Hello All,
I wrote a java file which uses Java Swing to crea a GUI.I have also compiled the jave file.
The problem now is that i've made many changes and compiled it many times. Now suddenly due to some problem, the contents of tha Java file have been deleted and it shows 0 bytes.
Is there any way to recover my Java source file from the Class file?I would be thankful to anyone who can help me out on this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Vijayakannan

Yes and no, you can reverse engineer it to an extent, it wont look exactly like your original source though, it'll be full of commented out bytecode bits etc. As its your own code though you've got the best chance of deciphering it. Go to somewhere like www.tucows.com to download the software for doing it.

i am seeing and index of my personal files on firefox. what is this? why is it there? how can i make it go away? does this mean my desktop files are on the internet? can someone explain clearly and simply (i am not tech saavy at all) thank you

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.
There have also been fonts with a Chinese name reported that identify themselves as Helvetica, so check that as well.
Use this test to see if the Helvetica font is causing it (Copy & Paste the code in the location bar and press Enter):
    <pre><nowiki>data:text/html,
    Helvetica<br><font face="Helvetica" size="25">abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ</font><br>
    Helvetica Neue<br><font face="Helvetica Neue" size="25">abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ</font>
    </nowiki></pre>
You should reset the network.http prefs that show user set on the about:config page.<br />
Not all websites support http pipelining and if they do not then you can have issues with images or other problems.
