Is it normal for BT remote helper to know and type...

Hi..Recently my mother was having issues with signing into her account to check on recent bills and payments.
She rang BT and allowed a member of staff into her computer via remote assistance. 
While the person was in control of her computer he typed in her password....???
After the session she felt quite vulnerable and wondered how the employee had known her password when it is common knowledge that passwords are private and everyone is told never to divulge such information?
She rang BT back and was told that BT do not have access to passwords and no one could answer why this had happened.
My questions are:
Do BT staff in fact have access to their customer's passwords?
If so, why was she not told by the assistant that he would, with her permission put the password in for her? Out of courtesy. 
Why did on the subsequent phone call was she told that BT staff do not have access to passwords?
This is very worrying for my mum (and for me on her behalf)  
Has anyone else experience this and is there anyone from BT on the forum that can confirm whether you do actually have access to passwords?

It is not possible for anyone BT or not to know what your Mom's online billing account password is. These details are kept private.
I understand that your Mom had her screen taken over when she called BT. What web browser does your Mom use? Has she by any chance set that browser to remember her log in details?
I understand your Mom had problems getting into her account. What were the problems, had she forgot her password or username? If so the advisor might had had to carry out what is called a password reset, so that she could get access to her account. That would have involved your mom having to chose a new password.
If you are worried about the security of your Mom's account I can take a look to see if I can get that call listened too. If you would like me to look into this for you. Please get you Mom to send me in her details using the link found in the "About me" section of my profile.

    Try running in Safe mode.  This leaves out some video drivers.  Which results in machine not using advanced video hardware.

    When you go to Settings > WiFi and see your network name does it have a padlock icon to the right of the network name? If so it is a secured network with a password.
    How did you connect to your network from the iPad? From Settings > Wifi? Was a network password requested? Was it accepted?
    If you touch the ">" to the right of your network name what do you see for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS?

    should I go with a local provider? or go with ... say GoDaddy

    I want to execute a website, retrieve its results and save it somehow. For eg, I want to run "http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=Result+java&meta=" url from a servlet. Then receive all info that it sends and store it properly as required. The same way if the above link is sending any xml data, then also how to manage it.
    Any help, guidance regarding the above query would be appreicative. If you are aware of any tutorial also which can help me achieve the same would be great. Managing received XML data is very important.

    Since you're doing a GET, you can simply add the parameters to the URL String. Just read the connection's input stream and be done.
    For more complicated stuff I suggest using Apache's HttpClient library.

    And you're sure you're not actually accessing webservices?

    Lets do simple example where you will first create a RFC in one server (say A) and create normal program in othere server (say B). Finally you will call the RFC in A from B.
    Do the following steps for creating RFC in server A.
    1. log on to server A
    2. go to se37
    3. Edit -> function groups-> create function group and give the function group name (say ZGRP).
    4. create a FM ( say Z_TEST_RFC) in se37 providing the function group which is created just now.
    5. go to attribute tab -> choose remote-enabled module from processing type.
    so that your FM will become RFC.
    6. provide the import parameter in import tab.
    we will provide only two import parameters.
    - parameter name : P_NUM1, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value (all the parameters of RFC must pass by value).
    - parameter name : P_NUM2, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value
    7. provide the export parameter in export tab.
    parameter name : P_SUM, typing: TYPE, associated type : I & check the pass value
    8. write the given simple code in source code tab.
    FUNCTION Z_TEST_RFC.

    My name is Benny. I want to install the remote start and alarm in My 2015 Toyota Highlander. before I make an appointment. I go to Bestbuy store and make sure it's compatible with the Viper Responder LC3 5706V 2-Way Remote Start and Security System. Bestbuy print out the document everything say is compatible with my vehicle. and then I make  an Appointment on July 31, 2015, 01:00 PM 4 Hrs162 SANTILLI HWY EVERETT MA Confirmation Number: VRJF2718. it is the lady help me to install it. she say it take 4 to 5 hours to finish. I said I wait here at Bestbuy out there until finish installation. After more than 5 hours. I come in the Bestbuy mobile installation there. and the lady tell me my car is broke fuse link. The vehicle will not start. and also she said she did not touch anything. I ask why the fuse is broke if you did not touch anything. she said the fuse broke all the time. It is normal. My car less than 1400 miles. just like new. My all family use Toyota. 6 year never broke the engine fuse. She try to tell me the fuse link broke is not because the installation process. She try to tell is not her responsibility. She said already call Woburn Toyota repair on Monday. I m so worry about my car. I take the subway to Wellington station and walk to Bestbuy on the next day. and then she tell me the car has to tow to Woburn Toyota to repair. on August 4. I went to Bestbuy with my friends. We talk to the Geek Squad manager I think his name is Jason. He tell me the car can fix and pick up today about 1PM,  I called Woburn Toyota and they tell me pick up my car. after pick up my car. I have to go back to Bestbuy finish the remaining installation because the viper already installed in my car. About 2:30PM. Tom said it take about 20 to 30 minutes to program the key. after Program the key. It has problem to start the engine. Sometime the engine start only a few seconds it shut it down. He don't know how to program the key, the key has the code has to match the car. Tom keep try and try to start the engine until the car battery is dead. and then use the  jump starter to charge the battery. and keep try and try. I don't remember how many time he try to start the engine. it make me very scare. I ask Tom many time about the compatible. He said yes. about 6PM. I talk to the manager, I said do you think will tow my car again. He tell me to talk to Tom. I told Tom I have to use my car tomorrow for work. I paid to much for the cab. And then he take out the Vipers. Wednesday 4:40am in the morning. I drive for my job. I found out the automatic light is not on. it has other issue. The Auto switch is on, but the automatic light is not on. me and my friends went to Bestbuy again and talk to manager. First He said is not my responsibility. You already pick up the car. I m telling you. no one will know the automatic sensor will broke if not drive at night or dark place. I have my KDLINKS X1 FULL HD WIDE ANGLE CAR DASHBOARD CAMCORER WITH GPS install in my car. The installation day is July 31. All drive load recorded. July 31. I drive my friends to China town and get in the Tunnel and then go back to Bestbuy get in the tunnel again. It show the light automatic on. No any problem when I drop on Bestbuy. I have alot Evidence prove. No one touch my new car. Only Geek Squad. I lost money because the Viper Responder LC3 5706V already used. It can't return it. Also I lost time. wait long time in Bestbuy, 4 hours job it take 5 days. I have no car to use. I have to paid the cab for my job. I have to drive my car to Woburn Toyota to see what is broke on 08/7/2015. After 5 hours long wait. The Toyota said Tom forgot to connect the wire.  They said the first time broke the big fuse link and tow to Toyota repair. It is the big problem. It broke because they start the engine more than hundred time. I know because I took the chair and wait inside the second time with Tom. He try to start my engine between 5 second. I know what is troubleshooting. but if you try to start the engine 3 time and not work. You will know is sometime wrong. You have to find out the problem and maybe get help. Not just keep try to start the engine on the remote. I tell Tom even you try thousand time. it could be the same. I know I complaint the first time when they broke my car big fuse. but please don't treat my car like that. I want to ask you. if you take your car there for installation. You wait there more than 5 hours and your new car is broke by them. and you have no car to use for your job. Are you happy about that. Second time he said only take 30 minutes to program the key. It take me wait there 5 hours. He forgot connect the wire. If you don't believe, you can call Woburn Toyota. Everyone know Bestbuy broke my 2015 Toyota Highlander. Bestbuy should reimburse my lost. I lost time and money. The Viper I can't return to other retail store because it used by your company. It fail to install and broke my car. I try to call Geek squad 18004335778 two times and talk to different people. they just hand up my phone after I tell my stories. They never give me the solution. and I know I post the message here may not helpful. I will keep try other way to tell my stories to other if Bestbuy not give me the solution.   • MS Office 2013 crashes no matter what I've tried. Been going on for a year HELP!!!

    I have been having an issue with Excel 2013 crashing for over a year now, I place post after post after post, I have spoken to
    numerous times, escalated 6 times and finally spoke to a person who wants money to fix THEIR ISSUE!!!!!   What a way to treat your customers.....needless to say , after being in the phone this last time for 2 1/2 hours I did not pay him a dime. 
    Microsoft KNOWS they have an issue with 2013 crashing.  I am so so SO upset, another FULL day on the phone with Toshiba and Microsoft , I mean since 8:00 a.m. AGAIN this morning and still NO RESOLUTION. 
    When I do a simple cut and paste of ONE CELL, it crashes.  OMG, how ridiculous is this.  It may work for a week and then forget it, it will crash for a week  I can not get ay work done like this.  Perhaps another
    is the way to go if they cant resolve THEIR issue
    Is there ANYONE that has the knowledge to help to fix this?  If not, IMHO....Microsoft needs to STOP selling
    .  At least, get it right, get out all the bugs before you let us determine if it works or not.  I have brought it up in safe mode, I have repaired, I have reloaded video drivers, I have taken off all 3rd party software, deleted all *.exd files

    I noticed the Faulting module VBE7.DLL in your logs, definitely you were using VBA in Excel.
    Well, does the issue occur if working without VBA?
    For this VBE7.DLL issue, I have two suggestions:
    Method1 - Recompile the Project
    1. Open the workbook in Excel. Normally Excel will disable macros in a worksheet until you click a button to enable the macros. Do not enable the macros just yet.
    2. Open the VBA editor. You can hit ALT+F11 or on the ribbon click Developer > Visual Basic
    3.  In the VBA editor double click your module or first module that contains your project. Add a commented line of code such as:
    ‘ This is a comment

    ctrl B makes the top bar (File. Edit. View. Controls. Store. Help.) appear and disappear.
    ctrl S makes a side bar appear on the left side of iTunes. It shows the library which has Music. Movies. TV Shows. Apps. Playlists. Ect.
    When I did the steps you suggested, my iPhone did not show up in that list.
    I checked my firewall settings again, and they seem to be okay. My firewall is the only thing that I am not 100% sure of. If I go to Control Pannel>System and Security>Windows Firewall>Allow an app through Windows Firewall. It shows that iTunes is allowed. I'm not sure if something else might need to be allowed as well though. I have a few Remote options that are not allowed such as, Remote Event Log Management, Remote Scheduled Tasks Management, Remote Shutdown, Remote Volume Management, and Routing and Remote Access. I'm not sure if any of these need to be allowed or not, or if they are even affiliated with iTunes.

    <p>I'm running Windows Server 2012, we only have 1 server and it's a DC.  I'm trying to RD to the server from my Windows 7 laptop. It was working fine on Friday but when I came in on Monday I got message saying that 'The remote session was disconnnected
    because there are no Remote Desktop License Servers available to provide a license'
    So after a bit of digging I found out my 'grace period' had expired, so ordered a new license which I got today, installed this all ok but still i cannot connect via RD I get the same message....went into the RD License Diagnoser and it said the problem
    was as follows
    'The grace period for the Remote Desktop Session Host server has expired, but the RD Session Host server has not been configured with any license servers. Connections to the RD Session Host server will be denied unless a license server is configured for
    the RD Session Host server.'
    Suggested Resolution as follows
    Configure a license server for the Remote Desktop Session Host server. If you have an existing license server, specify that license server for the RD Session Host Server. Otherwise, install RD Licensing on a computer on your network and Configure RD Session
    Host Server to use it.'
    I cannot figure out how to do this as I cannot find the RD Session Host Server tool. 
    Can any of you lovely people help me please

    Best option would be to assign the license server by using AD GPO. Youl will need to configure the following:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Licensing
    and define the settings for:
    Use the specified Remote Desktop License Server
    Set the Remote Desktop Licensing mode
    Then assign the policy tho your server.

    It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:

    If you are unable to restore with iTunes I would next put the device into recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:

    It depends upon the contains of the web page you are browsing. I have seen on my retina macbook pro the temperature above 60 degrees celsius if I’m browsing through heavy contain website or any parallax contain website. Also, if you scroll down quickly, the retina display has to work a lot harder to render those million pixels so in turn the CPU and GPU generates a lot of heat. Trust me its normal for a webpage to reach at 70 degrees celsius depending on the web contain as I myself am a retina Macbook pro user.
    To be extra safe you can reset your SMC......

    Step 01. Shut down your MacBook.
    Step 02. Connect the MagSafe power adapter into your MacBook. ...
    Step 03. Press Shift + Control + Option + Power keys at the same time.
