Is it normal for CHASE to ask for documentation before giving a decision on their Southwest card?

I applied for the Southwest card by CHASE and I received a letter in the mail this week asking for verification of my date of birth to be mailed to them before a decision can be made on rather they will approve or deny my application. Is this normal?  Has anyone else ever experience this? If so what was your outcome? I would think this is a good sign and; an approval is coming but I’m not sure.

Thanks FinStar, would you happen to know if this means a “ approval" is coming my way since CHASE wanted more information?Sure, this is definitely pending approval once you supply the docs they requested.  An item to keep in mind, be patient on the verification process since it can take a few days or a week or so.  If you have a Chase banking relationship, stop by the branch and have the banker fax or scan the documents and have them forward to the card services verifications department.  Otherwise, be sure to fax them the info or snai-mail as requested (get receipt confirmation).

is it normal for buyers to ask for serial number of my iphone? can i just give it to them?

Yes, it tells them the legitimacy of the phone. the serial number is tied to the purchase of the phone and verifies date purchased and more importantly if it's still under warranty. There is no personal information given about the phone serial.
This is just the buyer being cautious of the purchase and if it is a legitimate sale, it won't matter if they have it or not.

The 10 - 35 degrees celsius temp mentioned on the technical details page is the outside ambient atmospheric Air temperature and not the macbook pro’s inside temperature... No need to worry.
It depends upon the contains of the web page you are browsing. I have seen on my retina macbook pro the temperature above 60 degrees celsius if I’m browsing through heavy contain website or any parallax contain website. Also, if you scroll down quickly, the retina display has to work a lot harder to render those million pixels so in turn the CPU and GPU generates a lot of heat. Trust me its normal for a webpage to reach at 70 degrees celsius depending on the web contain as I myself am a retina Macbook pro user.

  • Is it normal for the retina macbook pro screen to wobble?

I have a retina macbook pro 13inch 2014 version. Whenever i play the laptop on a flat surface for the first time it wobbles a bit. Is it normal for the screen to wobble a bit while placing it on a flat surface? After that initial wobble there is no wobble.

No, that is not normal. There could be some problem with the screen.
As it is still under warranty, why not go to an Apple Shop and ask them about the problem?

  • Am I the only Alien on earth? (why is it normal for APPLE not to merge...)

I really can't understand why is so normal for MAC user to miss the simple funcionality of merge two folders. Let's say you have (for instance) a local folder on your mac with hundreds of subfolders and files, and you want to merge different files from another folder with the exact name on an external hdd. It's simply impossible unless you enter each single folders and copy the files manually.
    Is it normal??
Is it normal that the solutions I've found involve the use of third part applications (which may cost up to 60$) or even use Windows or move everything on, let's say, dropbox, merge the two folders and download everything back.
    Really... I can't understand!
Am I missing something about finder? There's a magic trick or a very very hidden option or an exotic mouse+keys combination?
    Thanks

What's silly in the Joomla upgrade? If you have more than 4.000 files and the newer version only has few hundreds of them upgraded, is it silly to let you download these few hundreds so you can easily (and quick) update to a new version?
It's not silly at all to expect to download only the changed files. What is silly is providing just those files in folders on a system that doesn't do folder merging and expecting the user to figure it out. If the makers of Joomla wish to properly support the Mac, they need to provide some way to install those changes for you... they don't even need to provide an installer, it could be as simple as a small script that asks where your Joomla installation is (if necessary) and then executes the Unix "cp" command the with -R and -n options.
Of course, perhaps they're expecting that anyone administering a server with Joomla should already know how to do this.
OK I see, mac users never ever use nested folders with more than three files
Not at all. I've got many levels of nested folders. I've simply never needed to merge any of them, and can't conceive of a situation, other than something like the Joomla updates, where you might want to do that kind of thing with any significant frequency. If you're using it as a sync solution between two machines, there are far better methods.

    *Update*
I thought I had found the offending 'app' namely "Songpop."
I regularly use "Songpop" on my phone late at night via my wifi connection.
All enteries on my phonebill are at midnight (even though I have a data allowance it was excluded from allowance). I switched 3G off on Friday, played "Songpop" at midnight and at the exact time I got a "Server Error" message.
I posted a message on the "Songpop" support forum. At first they said this was a problem relating to my ISP.
I have spoken to my ISP and asked if there are connection drops at the time I have been billed (ie to establish if my wifi dropped and 3G kicked in without my knowledge) and have been advised that there aren't any connection drops at that time.
"Songpop" have now responded that "This is an issue to take up with Apple Support"  see: http://support.songpop.fm/songpop/topics/playing_songpop_on_phone_via_wifi_but_i ncurring_download_data_charges_for_3g_useage?utm_content=topic_link&utm_medium=e mail&utm_source=reply_notification
Hopefully someone at Apple can respond ....

  • Is this normal for the Optical Drive?

I don't know if this has already been asked but....
I am kinda worried about the optical drive on my mini.
Has anyone else noticed that the optical drive on the minis is kinda loud, especially right after you have put in a disk? All disks that i put in the drive make a sound like they are hitting against something, but stop after a couple of seconds.
Also, is it normal for a kind of "fluttering" sound to come from the drive when you are playing a DVD (it happens about every 5-10 seconds but doesn't effect the playing at all)?
And finally, are all minis designed so you have to push a disk at least 5/6 of the way before the drive ***** it in?

    Yes to all questions.
Optical drives these days make a lot of noise. You don't hear it in something as large as a tower computer because the computer has its entire case to pick up the vibrations. With the drive just under the case cover and nothing to make distribute very far, it will make more noise on a notebook or Mac Mini just because of the constrained space.
That said, if put sticky labels on disks, or get extra thick disks that is not very good for slot loading drives. See this article on nonstandard media:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58641
If you want more flexibility with media, external Firewire and USB optical drives exist. http://www.macsales.com/ has a nice selection that offer full compatibility.

  • Long load times normal for Adobe Media Encoder from Premiere CS5?

When I export a sequence from Adobe Premiere CS5 using Adobe Media Encoder, the system freezes for several minutes before giving me the exporter screen.  Then, when I've loaded my settings and clicked "export," the system again freezes for several minutes before beginning to encode.    I'm using a system with an Intel I7 CPU 930 @ 2.80Ghz 2.80 Ghz., 24 GB of ram, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system and an Nvidia quadro FX4800 graphics card..  Everything else is fast, but AME is slow.  Is this normal? Should I reinstall AME?

Not sure what you mean about the process.  From Premiere CS5, I click on "export" which brings up a menu. I select "media" from the menu which brings up the Adobe Media Encoder.  I adjust my settings and click "export" from the bottom of the screen to immediately render the Premiere file.  Clicking "Queue" would put the program into the AME Queue.  Am I missing something?  On the slowness issue, looks like I need to reinstall AME. I've been reluctant to do that, partially because I'm using some Matrox hardware and I'll have to reinstall the Matrox softare to populate the matrox settings into the media encoder. Looks like it may be worth it.
    Thanks.

I got an 15 dollar iTunes card for Christmas. I took a picture of the card code to redem the card I accomplished that but when I try to download an app that cost money it asks me two security questions  that I forgot the awnsers to. Than I click the forgot security questions than it sends it to my email but that's the problem I do not get any email.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of doing so include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • ITunes 8 no longer asks for verification before downloading?  Why not?

I recently downloaded and installed iTunes 8 on my new laptop, and one of the first things I noticed was that whenever I clicked to download a song, it happened immediately, without asking me if I was sure I wanted that particular song.
I thought this was a good thing, until I slipped on my touchpad and ended up downloading a song I had absolutely no desire to have.
So, my questions here are twofold--- 1, is there anyway to get rid of that song and get my money back? It's only a single song, but it's a single song that could be used elsewhere.
And two: how do I toggle it so that iTunes asks for verification before downloading again? Apparently, I can't be trusted with my iTunes money otherwise...

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable

  • Is it normal for files to go missing from an external hard drive?

I've posted about this issue before but for slightly different reasons. I'm about to buy a new hard drive (the old one is full), probably I'll go for the exact same model, and I want to know if the problem I had described here has happened to Mac users.
I use a Retina MBP with OS X 10.8.4 that also runs Windows 8 on boot camp. At the same time I have an Acer Aspire and what I used to do is download movies onto my external drive with my MBP in Mac - I would also rename the files in Mac - and then connect the drive to my Acer so I could access the movies there.
One day I noticed that some of the files, after I had renamed and moved them to a new folder on the same partition, had gone missing. As I described in my old thread, it was a weird problem because those "missing" files would appear in Windows but not in Mac. But even in Windows when you could see the folders, they were all corrupted as the system indicated to me - the folders couldn't be accessed and the movies wouldn't play.
Thankfully I haven't had this issue again but then I haven't dared to move any of my movies to a new folder either. Not since that incident. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have lost those movies and had them corrupted if I had kept them in their original location. Is it normal for files to go missing or be corrupted when you move them back and forth, especially when you use an external drive with one OS (Mac) and then switch to another (Windows)? I've always wondered if this was an issue. I never formatted the drive when I got it, I just plugged it in and used it. That was before I bought my MBP.
I also was unable to delete those corrupted files/folders. Windows wouldn't let me and in Mac, they didn't even show up. I solved this eventually by using Disk Utility to repair the drive.
Now I'm fine with letting my files stay put if that's what it takes to keep them safe and secure, but I'd be more comfortable if I can understand what went wrong all those months ago.
The hard drive I have is this one from Samsung.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
Longer answers if for any reason you do not think all library files are inside your iTunes folder (changed preferences settings at some point):
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
2011 ilounge article: Transferring your iTunes library - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/  - An article with good background information (similar to the links above), particularly if you are not sure your media files are all grouped for quick answer above. Unfortunately under the single term "transferring library" it describes two very different moves; relocating just your media (not  really transferring your library and not recommended unless you really need this configuration), and relocating media+database (really your whole "library").  Make sure you understand the difference before electing to move only media.
