Is it possible to Change Directory structure once the project is developed?
Hello,
I am a Newbee to OAF development, I recently developed a JSP page using the oracle recommended directory structure "<companyname>.oracle.apps.<custom directory>." ie., for ex: "*xxcom*.oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server", the page worked perfectly fine when I ran it from jDeveloper.
but when I tried to deployed the same in the server to run from Oracle Applications, I found that our organization's unix directory structure where I need to deploy the files is not the same, they are excluding the "<companyname>" directory in there structure, the directory structure in unix looks like this "$JAVA_TOP.oracle.apps.<custom directory>...." ie., for example: "/u06/appsw/appdevcomn/java/oracle/apps/xxco", so now I cannot deploy the page I have developed.
How do I resolve this issue? can I change the directory structure in jDeveloper now to match that on the server, ie., change it to "oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server" instead of "*xxcom*.oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server"

Changing directory structure & song file locations: iTunes query
I have an external hard-drive which I have loaded with thousands of songs over the years but have never really used it. Now, I want to organise my iTunes songs but my limited knowledge has brought me to a stop... Please help!
On the external HDD, songs are located all over the place - the directory structure is bad - and I want to simplify it under a new structure. Some songs are also on my iMac's HDD which I also want to centralise on the external HDD. What is the best way to do this?
Also, I don't have any play lists organised so I don't mind if I loose the library information and start again UNLESS the library information also includes SONG information (artist, title, etc.). Could it be a good idea, then, that I simply start again? Specifically:
1. Can I just use Finder to move files around and change the directory structure on the external HDD?
2. Can I start from scratch and copy all the music files onto a new external HDD with the new, simple directory structure I want and then re-point iTunes using the "iTunes media folder location" tab? Will I lose all the song file information?
3. What do I do with the iTunes library? Is it best to "reset" the library somehow or should I do all of this moving using iTunes and therefore avoiding dealing with the library file?

you could use finder, but it would be far better if you'd let iTunes handle the moving and organizing.

if you want to start from scratch, i would leave the files where they currently are. again, let iTunes handle it (see below).

i would start over. launch iTunes with the option key pressed. click on +create library+. in iTunes, go preferences > advanced and point iTunes to the desired location (i.e. your external drive). in the same tab, disable +copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library+ temporarily.
now start adding content (file > add to library). when done, go back to preferences > advanced and re-enable +copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library+. next, go file > library > organize library and select both options like so
hit ok. iTunes will now move files as necessary and organize them. when finished, your iTunes music folder on the external drive will look like this
none of your music files will be renamed. artwork you added manually will be retained, however, artwork that came with purchases from the iTunes store may be lost. that can easily be added later on though.

Additional directory structure on the ROM portion of a disc?
Can I write an additional directory structure on the ROM portion of a disc?
I want directory "A" on the root level of the disc and directory "1", "2", and "3" within directory "A".
There would be various pdf's in the 1, 2, and 3 directories.Yup!
This is called 'ROM Data'. You can add it from inside DVDSP but it often catches folks out in the way it works.
Basically, get your folder with the sub folders inside it, and the PDFs inside each subfolder. Make sure this is somewhere easy to find, like on your desktop. Name the parent folder something that your viewers will appreciate (like ROM, or "Additional Files' or 'MORE' or something like that).
At this point it is tempting to simply go to the property inspector and point the DVD-ROM settings at that 'parent' folder. However, this isn't what you do if you want to keep the folder structure intact.
Take your parent folder and put it (and all subfolders) into another folder. Now, go to DVDSP and click on the disc icon in the outline view, then look in the property inspector. On the first tab (General settings) you'll see the DVD-ROM settings towards the bottom. Check the 'Content' box and browse for the final folder you added everything to (the one with the parent folder and sub folders inside it).
When DVDSP builds your disc it will look inside this folder and put everything it finds at the root level of your disc, maintaining the folder structure. You will end up with your 'ROM' folder and three subfolders with PDFs inside it when the disc is created.
If you don't do the last step and you simply point to your 'ROM' folder, then you'll get three folders at the root level of the disc, and not the one single folder you wanted. -
Change Directory Structure Created in MPZIP file
I'm trying to standardize my Multisim projects for inclusion in our documentation control system. As I build my project, I have a directory structure that I'm using. When I include the files in the project, the directory structure is remembered in the MPZIP file. However, the default is to unpack all files into the External(Project Name) folder. Following the help,
Extracted Path—The location to which the files will be extracted. The default is <project name>External\filename, for example project1External\amplifier.ms12. Use the drop-down lists in the Extracted Path column to select other locations as desired.
I can go in and change the directory path of each file using pull-down boxes. This makes a manual process and if I include datasheets, specifications, and dxf files, is quite time intensive. Is there a way to default to having the project to unpack to the old directory structure? Is there some other way to automate the unpacking? I can manually zip the old project structure, but other than the form of the directories, the MPZIP is so convenient.

When you unpack the project, the default is to create a new folder and put everything together since it is unlikely that the new computer will have the same file structure as the computer where this project came from. If you want Multisim to create the same file structure as the original, you can click in the cell under "extracted path" and select the old path, if the folder doesn't exist, Multisim will create one. Unfortunately, you will have to do this for each item on the table.

Changing directory Structure Problems
I've created a new Flex Project with a new directory
structure that I'm unable to import! No error message, anything...I
would like to be more specific, but I have no clue about what's
happening...There may be additional details you could provide to help us
understand the situation.
So you create the project in Flex, move folders around,
export the project, delete the project from FB (but not from the
file system), and then try to import and it fails? What happens, at
what point during the import to show that it fails, and how are you

Changing data structure in the receiver SOAP adapter
I was wondering whether it is possible to have changing data structure in terms of one receiver SOAP adapter so I could sent data type 1 and 2 to a single XI web service enabled URL and make conditional parsing in terms of the received message ?
I have a receiver SOAP adapter that ideally should be able to receive two different types of messages. But SOAP adapter is fixed to a sigle message interface that naturally has it's data structure set to just one type. I can just create conditions in terms of the data type 1 message that has been defined in the design side.
Is it possible achieve this with just one SOAP receiver adapter?Henri,

1) I do as prescribed in the manual "Building and deploying
Flex 2 Applications", page 325
"To create a web application make a copy of the /flex
directory and its contents. Rename the copy and store it in the
same location under /servers/default directory."
("flex" is an empty Flex Data Services application that
serves as a template for creating your custom application)

first, those folders are necessary in deployment - You need
only the contents of the bin folder for deployment, not the
sources. Since you're compiling the application locally in FB2 it
places all of the supporting and necessary files into one location
namely the "bin" folder. You'd deploy the "bin" folder's contents
to the FDS server, perhaps another FDS server that is not your
"development" server -- like a production server. The data and
configuration information that your app needs for FDS services are
stored in the WEB-INF and META-INF folders so these need to travel
with the final product. On the production server you'd just cop the
"bin" folder and it's contents to the /servers/default folder -
where you could then rename your bin folder to "MyDS"

Current order status xxxx does not allow goods receipt (Message no. C6009)? is this the message?
This will not allow you to do GR for production order when you activate status profile "SAT1" in the production order. After that when you confirm order it will automatically assign next user status i.e. "SAT2" (if not assign it manually in CO02) it will allow you to do GR for that production order.

What is the directory structure of the SDK ?
What is the structure of the SDK folders ?
There is no introductory file inside the SDK such as a manifest that gives any idea of what the contents are and their relative value and level of prereqs.
Why does the SDK have any of the bloated html docs and zips ? cant the adobe provide pdfs which can do the same ?
I need a tour of the SDK, preferably a quick and dirty description or a video tut. Adobe CORPORATION should have provided it - than leaving an empty stub to be filled by a trail of charghing consultants and lost patsies.
Will this sdk for 9.x work for 8.x acrobat writer ?

Maybe you missed the Index page? Did you know you can use that doc online, it's easier to navigate it online.
Adobe used to publish the SDK as a PDF but stopped after version 8. I'm sure if you ask them nicely they'll bring it back.......

Is it possible to duplicate an item in the project panel with scripts?
Hey all, I'm trying to make a script that will duplicate an item in the project panel. I know you can duplicate an item in a comp, but I'd like to duplicate a project Item...app.project.item(2).duplicate();
Something like that, is it possible with some other coding to do that?

Can't make a backup after changing directory structure
Having finally seen the obvious light about restoring a backup I've found some of my directories to be messed up. Some a little and others a bunch.
My first objective is to get a directory and its sub-directoried to agree as far as total file count is concerned and I'm not getting there. I have a directory the shows a total of 1082 files. When I totaled the number of files in the sub-directories I had 1080 files. I found two files that did not belong in the directory. I removed the tags from the two files (pictures) and then removed them from the catalog but not from the hard disk. They belong to a different catalog. When I totaled the sub-directories I got 1080 which meant the two files were gone from the sub-directories. But, the directory total was still 1082 and noted that two files were not shown. WHY? If they arn't in the sub-directories why are they counted in the main directory?
If you can't check your directories this way what other way is there?Just a note to say that I never owned version 3 of PSE : PSE2 (long gone...) then PSE4, 5,6, 10, 11.

Very important : a catalog is like a list where information read from the files are kept : dates, file size, exif data. Then you can add many info for those files : ratings, tags, captions, notes to that list . The catalog does not contain picture files : it only stores the location (path) of each file.
So, when you create a new empty catalog and 'get' media files, you are only reading your media files to extract the relevant information to be stored in the catalog (a database). Reading those files does not change anything.
When you add information in your catalog, generally nothing is written automatically into the files themselves ; however you can use the file menu to 'write metadata to files' voluntarily.
Now, if you have a catalog with already many pieces of information recorded, what will happen if you start a new catalog ? The new catalog will import all the information present in the files. The original info like exif data, plus the info you have specially 'Written to files' as stated above.
In your PSE8 version, you can work in folder view or in thumbnail view. When you have added a lot of tags, categories, ratings, captions, notes, folder view is not necessary. However, folder view enables you to take advantage of your folder organization with significant subfolder names to quickly add tags to whole subfolders at a time. It's a good way to enrich your catalog. If you still rely only on folder view to organize your categories, that is possible in the Organizer, but relying on categories, tags and albums while forgetting about folders, is the philosophy of the Organizer and its real power.
The main rule is to keep only a main catalog. Have you already tried to import most of your files in your current catalog ? How many pictures are shown ? -
Wireless Toolkit J2ME - changing the directory structure for your projects
When I create a new package in the Sun Java Wireless Toolkit, the toolkit is creating a folder for the application and its subfolders in the following directory:
C:Documents and settings/Owner/j2mewtk/2.5.2/apps/<name_of_project>....
I am trying to change the directory for new and existing projects so that the directory is:
C:WTK2.5.2/apps/<name_of_project>....
The WTK is already installed directly under the C drive (C:WTK2.5.2/ )
