Could be possible, but you ask this question to persons who probably think they know it and guess.

  • Is it possible to install Win XP on Satellite T110?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP IN TOSHIBA SATELLITE T110.
BECAUSE WHEN I START INSTALLING XP IT SAYS SOMETHING "HARDISK ERROR" PRESS F3 TU QUIT.
    WHAT SHOULD I DO ??

    Of course its possible.
The Win XP does not seem to recognize the HDD due to missing SATA driver.
You have to add SATA driver while Setup procedure.
The SATA drivers are part of Intel Storage Manager which you can download from Toshiba EU driver page.

  • Installing Win 7 Pro 64 bit

    Greetings:
    I have a X200  7448-CTO preloaded with Win 7 Pro 32 bit.
Would it be possible to install the 64 bit on my system?
Any input is much appreciated.                  `
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

yes it is fully supported. You can approach this upgrade in several ways.
    1. If you want to keep the recovery partition for the win 7 pro 64 bit, then you can order the 64 bit version of the recovery media from Lenovo service.
    2. If you don't care about the recovery partition and want to keep the cost of upgrade at a bare minimum (well free for that matter). Then download the windows 7 64 bit iso from here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-...
Then follow this instruction for installing all the drivers.

  • Is it possible to Install Windows 8 Pro 64-bit on a secondary hard dive in Mac Mini (Late 2012) using Boot Camp 5?

    Hello,
I have a Mac Mini (Late 2012) running on OS X 10.8.3 and would like to install Windows 8 Pro on a secondary hard drive using Boot Camp 5. Is that really possible?
A little background about the topic under discussion.
    1. Mac Mini (Late 2012) has a place holder to accomodate an additional hard drive (2.5") under the hood
    2. If just plugged with one, it would show as an additional volume in the finder
    3. Boot Camp 5 supoprts Windows 8 Pro 64-bit installation
The idea is to run two operating systems (1. OS X and 2. Windows 8) on two hard drives in a Mac Mini, with maintainability a constraint.
Have any one tried this out?  If so, kindly share if there are any specific procedures apart form the one given in Boot Camp 5 manual.
    Thanks in advance.
    ~ Narey

    Gotcha!!
I am done with mounting a secondary HDD (thanks to ifixit) and installing Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on it without a worry. Charm, charm!!
Boot Camp 5 guide prescribes all needed steps and when read and used correctly, installation must be an easy task. And all the existing apple hardwares work so good in the Windows environment too.
I am going to help out a friend of mine in doing a similar thing on his mac too. If you got specific questions, please do shoot up here and i should be able to get a reply to it (if at all).
    Thanks everyone.

  • I have an I Mac june 2009 24" type 9.1 can I install win 7 pro 64 bit via bootcamp?

I had Win XP servicepack 3 installed via bootcamp. Recent OSX updates changed bootcamp and it supports now only Win 7.

So to be able to use my Win XP applications again I bought Win 7 Pro 64 bit OEM.
The Cd wil work until I have to install and format the new ceated partition.
I cannot choose between FAT or NTFS the installation continues and Woindows will be unpacked.
    The counter remains on (0)
    Nothing happens further
    What is wrong?
    PLS somebody with a solution?

  • Is it possible to install Win XP on Satellite P20 w/o DVD drive?

Hi, I'm new to this support forum, but I'm hoping you can help with my problem.
Windows has become corrupt on my Satellite P20-521, yet I'm unable to use the Recovery Disc as the DVD drive has ceased functioning. I was wondering if there is any other possible method for installing the OS onto my laptop without the need for the drive. I have gotten to a stage where the harddrive is essentially formatted (due to placing the HD into another laptop and performing a windows boot that formatted and copied windows install data, however, this hasn't worked in terms of installing windows).
Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Okay, thanks for the help and suggestions guys. With the info you gave me, I managed to think out the most awkward and roundabout method possible. I've noted it down so that others may attempt to do so in the future if they so desire.
    Process to install Windows:
Transfer HDD from Toshiba Satellite (Comp A) to Dell Latitude (Comp B)
Copy the 'i386' folder from the Windows XP CD to a USB Memory Stick
Use a DOS CD to boot into DOS on Comp B
Delete all partitions and create 2gb FAT16 partition
    Format C: Drive
    Install DOS to HDD ('XCOPY A: C:\DOS' & 'SYS A: C:')
    Remove DOS CD
    Restart
Test booting into DOS (if it doesn't work, repeat steps above or find method to remove the MBR)
    Restart
Use 'Damn Small Linux' live CD to boot into Linux
Mount HDA1 (Harddrive FAT16 partition) and SDA1 (USB Memory Stick)
Transfer the 'i386' folder from SDA1 to HDA1 using File Manager
    Restart
(Optional: Activate 'smartdrive.exe' in DOS if it's available)
Activate 'WINNT.EXE' from within i386 folder
    Follow Windows XP Installation procedure
(Note: somefiles may not be found when it's in the copying stage, this may be due to the version of Windows XP you copied the i386 folder from)
Warning! Can take numerous hours to complete without 'smartdrive.exe'.
For me, due to the only readily available disc being an 'upgraded' XP (came with lots of tools and service packs allready installed for convenience) install disc, I found files 'missing' during the file copying stage prior to actual Windows installation:
    ieframe.dll.mui
    msfeedsbs.dll
The files are part of Internet Explorer 7, and are neither crucial to installation nor the running of Windows XP.

  • How to install Win 7 pro 64-bit on new SSD in WWAN slot?

I tried two generic Win 7 installation disks and get the error code 0x80070570 for 64-bit installs.   Did a lot of searching and reading, unplugged everything, did a memory check and just can't get past that error.  32-bit installs ok on the SSD in the WWAN slot.
Did some reading here and from what I could see you can't use the factory restore to the new drive.
Is upgrading this this machine as discussed at  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T520-upgrade-hard-drive-and-memory/m-p/205... not possible?

Have you tried a USB installer?
Boot Camp Assistant will now ask if you want to install the Windows installer with the Boot Camp Dirvers onto a USB drive on some supported and not so support machines.
Do a search for "Windows USB installer" on Yahoo/Google and there should be quite a few.

  • Touchsmart 600-1037d will not recognize Touchscreen after fresh install Win 8 Pro 64-bit

Would appreciate anyone's help in how to resolve my issue with my HP Touchsmart 600-1037d.  I have completed a fresh installation of Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, and the Touchscreen feature is not activated.  Unlike some of the other similarly related enquiries, I do not receive an error message in my Device Drivers that recognizes the Touchscreen and not have the correct drivers.  In my case, the OS simply does not recognize the Touchsreen features that were functional in Windows 7 64-bit.  I have tried using the NextWindow drivers from HP, Windows Update Catalog, and NextWindow websites, however none seem to work.  I have even tried a type of forced "installation" by right-clicking the relevant .inf files - with no success.

    Dear frrw,
Thank you for your reply and comments.  After reading through the pages from the link you provided, perhaps I am missing something.  I have successfully installed Windows 8 64-bit on my HP Touchsmart 600-1037d, which uses the nVidia GT230 adapter.  I have also successfully installed the latest nVidia Win8 drivers for the GT230.  All the features on the Touchsmart 600-1037d work fine - except there is no Touchscreen function.  In Device Manager there is no notification that there is a driver missing, ie Device Manager does not recognize that there is a Touchscreen device that I would need to update.  In Win7 64-bit the Touchscreen function worked fine.
I have tried forcing the installation of the following drivers with no success, ie Win8 64-bit simply does not recognize that there is a Touchscreen device to install.
    - NextWindow drivers from HP
    - Windows Update Catalog drivers for the NextWindow 1950
    - NextWindow website
    Would appreciate any further advice.

  • Is it possible to install OBIEE(Siebel Analytics) & Hyperion on same machin

    Hi All,
In my Stand alone system i am having win2003 server and WinXP with saperate Partitions in saperate drives (like C: & D:).
My requirement is to install Hyperion 11.1.1 Essbase and Planning in Win 2003 server and OBIEE(Siebel Analytics) 10x in WinXP.
IS it possible to install these two technologies on the same stand alone machine with saperate OS and saperate drives. My machine capacity is 1GB ram and 80gb harddisk and 2.4GHz processor.
Plz suggest me some thing regarding this doubt
    Thanks inadvance

We will not use the two servers at the same time and this machine will not be used for any development, just for demo purpose. So we will use only one thing at one time for getting handson, that is why we are trying to install two things on the same machine
What we are exactly planning is C: drive which will have WIN 2003 server with 10g or sql server as database and .NET framework for HYPERION 11.1.1.. Essbase and planning installations.
and on the other side OBIEE is compatable for XP and need 10g database and JDK1.5.0 on other side in D: drive
In these two technologies Hyperion Installation are important to us and OBIEE is only if possible. This is the exact requirement and environment. Suggest me if anything is going wrong or we are planning over the limits
The machine is 1.5gb ram and 80gb harddisk and 2.4ghz processor.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Installing Win in Mac retina display

Is is possible to install Win 2007 in MacPro (retina display) with USB (2.0 or 3.0) as new Mac retina display lacks DVD.

Yes. Install Windows the same way you would in a Macbook Air. Put the Windows and the downloaded support software onto a usb thumb drive. Make the thumb drive bootable and follow the installation guide. http://support.apple.com/manuals/#bootcamp, or use an external DVD for the Windows DVD.
You should visit the Boot Camp forum. https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

    Hey guys!

You can download wine from http://www.archlinux.org/packages/commu … /download/ but you need to make sure you have all the dependencies.
pacman uses the first mirror from the list, so that mirror is probably outdated.
BTW, why are you using 32-bit Arch? Maybe 64-bit would be better - you seem to have a nice new computer.

  • Is it possible to install Mac OS X tiger on a Windows based computer?

im really getting frusterated with windows, but i dont want to spend 500 for a mac. all im really asking..is it possible to install MAC OSX Tiger on a windows based computer? my computer has a dvd drive, CD-RW drive, 512 MB of RAM, and a nivdia G force 4 graphics card.
i guess my main question is if i can install the MAC OS X on my computer. you know how if you have a computer, you can just buy the Windows XP program and install it? can i do the same with the MAC OS X? please help..

    Hi got_jorge,
Sorry, this is not possible, as it is not only a matter of data that you put on the Hard Drive.
    Everything is different:
    CPU, Firmware, Power Management, etc.
It just doesn't work the same way.
    May I suggest?
Sell your computer, so that you can get a Mini and (most probably) don't need to buy a display, as yours should make it with the Mini?
    Sorry.

  • P205-6267 - WiFi mysteriously shuts off - Win 8.1 32-bit

I resurrected an old Satellite laptop my daughter was using for a long time as a 'desktop.' Monitor wasn't working. Once I got her a desktop PC, I managed to repair the display, install a new hard drive and install Win 8.1 32-bit on it.
It has been working well for a few months (wicked fast with Verizon FIOS - 35mbps!) but now I'm having a mysterious problem with the internal WiFi adapter mysteriously shutting off for no apparent reason. Sometimes the troubleshooter can turn it back on, sometimes not and I have to reboot. Lately even rebooting doesn't help - it comes up turned off.
I recently had an overheating problem, solved with an air cleaner spray can. I worry the overheating may have damaged something.
I don't know if the adapter is going bad or if it's a Win 8.1 compatibility issue. I could go back to Win 7 32 bit if necessary, but I'd prefer to fix this first, if possible.
    Details:
    P205-6267
    Windows 8.1 32-bit
    3GB RAM
    Network Adapters:
      Intel(r) Wireless WifFi Link 4965AGN
      Driver Date 10/7/2010 Version 13.4.0.139
Digital Signer Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Layer
"Update Driver" says the best dirver is already installed.
Device Manager says "The Device is working properly."
I don't mind downgrading to Win7 but I don't want to do all that only to find it's a hardware problem. Any install I do will be a clean install - I don't have or want the Toshiba disks.
Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts regarding:
    Running Win 8.1 on a p205
Troubleshooting a possible hardware failure on the WiFi adapter
Buying / Installing a replacement WiFi unit if it IS a hardware failure
Upgrading the CPU to run 64-bit Windows (that last is extra)
    Thanks in advance...
    Barry

Just to let everyone know, I downgraded to Windows 7 32-bit and everything seems stable and fine. My guess is there was some incompatibility or insufficiency in the WiFi driver that made it unreliable in Windows 8.
