Is it possible to run this Oracle based application ???

Hello All,
I have Oracle Forms/reports 9.0.4.1.0 installed on my windows XP.
I am running Oracle based application from this box.
here is the url for it:
http://localhost:8889/forms90/90servlet
Is it possible to run this Oracle based application on different PC on network through above URL?
If yes, how to configure or set up this.
Regards,
DN

From port number I assume you're using Developer suite. Remember that standalone OC4J is provided by Oracle for testing purposes only. You shouldn't use that in Production environment, where you should install Application Server, eventually the standalone Forms and Reports services (without infrastructure).

  • Is it possible to run all Dos based command on Java ?

    hello friends
    I run Dos Commands on Java by following code
    try{
    Process p=Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{"cmd.exe","/c","dir"});
    }catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();}
    System.out.println("bye");
    If I run "mkdir" instead of "dir" folder is created in current directory. But in case of "dir" listing of file folders is not displayed to me . means "dir " is not running.
    could any body tell me what to do in this case
    thanks

    'dir' is not an executable program. It is built-in to the command shell. The only way you can execute it is by feeding it to a shell via a batch file.Sorry 'ejp' but 'dir' can be run this way (I have just checked on XP) so there has to be something wrong with the way the OP is processing the results. Since he does not seem to process stdout or stderr and he does not wait for the process to complete I am betting he is falling foul of one or more of the traps. My best bet is that he is expecting a console window to open and the directory listing to appear in it.

  • Apex running with Oracle Retail Applications

    Hi,
    Has anyone had experiance of building Apex screens to run with the Oracle Retail Applications (ORMS, ORPM, ReIM etc) and if so the do you do authentication using mod_sql (as with EBS 11i) rather than using the Apex Listener as you would with EBS R12.1
    I am assuming its possible to access the Apex screens from the Retail menu's but I have not looked into it in any dertail and just wanted to know that I am not waiting my time suggesting Apex as an extension technology around the Retail Applications.

  • Run an Oracle ADF application on a tablet pc?

    I've been asked if an Oracle ADF application can run on a tablet pc. (I'm assuming XP Tablet PC Edition) . Does anyone know? If so, can I develop using JDev 10.1.3?

    User,
    Can you please be more specific? If you are talking about an ADF Faces application, those types of apps are web applications, and can be accessed just fine as long as you have a supported browser. However, your question isn't quite clear - do you mean you want to use JDeveloper 10.1.3 on this tablet PC to develop an application?

    Absolutely not. Weblogic Portal is tightly coupled with Weblogic app server. You can not run it on any other App server.

  • Is it possible to run a java application within a web browser?

    Hello everyone here! I have a question about running a java application within a web browser and I would appreciate it very much if anyone here can give me some answers.
    I have a standalone java application written with AWT. Basically this free application lets users to select spectral lines from a big file based on some criteria and plot those selected lines. Yes, it is a very simple application. Now I want to run this application within a web browser so that users don't need to download the application from the ftp site and thus don't need to install in their machine. Is it possible to run this application within browser? If yes, can we get the same plotting function as we run the application separately and where should I start out?
    Thanks in advance!

    Please see the signed applet discussion group for details of how to avoid the applet security restrictions. You can sign the applet, or use the policy file containing {AllPermission} for testing purposes (though not suitable for widespread deployment).

  • Running a GUI based software on powerbook G4

    Hi guys,
    I need to run a GUI based ERP software on my powerbook g4. the developer has no idea how to do so. he is not familiar with macs. but if he gets the right instructions he is ready to give it a try. Here's my query....is it possible to run this..and how so...what instructions do i give to the developer. Can you guys help to point out to certain literature which already addresses this issue. I need you help. thanks in advance.
    to the moderator...if this is posted on the wrong thread pls feel free to direct it to the right one.
    any help is appreciated.
    Powerbook G$   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    GUIs come in may different flavors. You need to find out more about what the developer is capable of/willing to do before you go to far.
    If the developer has no Mac experience, it's unlikely that he'll rewrite his application as a fully-fledged Mac application since that's a non-trivial task.
    However, if the application uses a client-server model, he may be able to impement a graphical front-end without too much work. That front-end could be written in AppleScript (more likely AppleScript Studio), but he may prefer to write an app in a more traditional language such as C or C++.
    If the application is already running on other flavors of Unix, he may have an X11-based application, in which case his work is done - you can run X11 apps on the Mac without any additional programming work needed. It won't look like a traditional Mac application, but it will run (and be consistent with the other Unix systems it's running on).
    If he's familiar with Java he could write a Java-based front-end. This would probably be his best bet for all-round cross-platform portability.
    In any case, you might find the Developer or Software Development forums a more productive place to get started.

  • Embedding java based application in  portal

    hi ,
    I want to embedd a java based application..Iam giving the pageURL in provider file..will it work r any problem..
    i want to display that application as portlet.is mentioning page url is enough..that is tomcat..
    Second way:if i copy all jsps and source files to htdocs and create a war file and ear file..will it works..
    how to mention in provider.xml file to show this application in portal.
    is there any specific way..
    plz mail me
    regards,

    Our expirience with these types of applications is that you will need to integrate your jsp files (to some degree) into Oracle's jpdk framework, which essentially means some of the functionality of your jsp files may not work properly unless you switch to use many of JSP files with the JPDK api (i.e. custom tags and custom api calls so that the portal can render your application as a java portlet provider).
    I think there is also a way that you can deploy your web application in oc4j and possibly use the web clipping portlet to show this java based application, however, I am not familiar with this, and you should probably ask Oracle Support for more information

  • To convert applet-based application?

    Hi
    There are some tools on market to run an applet-based application on server side. Those tools convert the behavior of applet application to Jsp application. So they run the application on web server and send HTML to web browser.
    One of those tools is WebCream(www.creamtec.com)
    Would appreciate to let me know other tools or any other ways to achive this.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Distributing JMF based application

    Hi, Is it necessary to install JMF just to run a JMF based application? I made an application which take screen shot of JPEG format (by Robot) and record voice from microphone and marge then as an avi video. It works perfectly where JMF has been already installed but give me the following error where JMF Api is not available! :
    Unable to handle format: JPEG, 800x500, FrameRate=5.0

    If you're not using anything you need the native code for, then you should only need to include "jmf.jar" and make sure it's on your library path.

  • WebStart with console based applications

    Hi:
    I've been struggling all day to get WebStart to work with a console based application (i.e., an application with no user interface that's launched from a shell window). When I launch the application with WebStart, the shell window is not visible. I've tried turning on the advanced option to show the console window, but only System.out and System.err go to there -- you cannot enter user input. Is there a way to run a console based application for a console based application? Thanks.

    Hi,
    WebStart cannot get input from the console window.
    You may have to use some dialog boxes to get your input.
