Is it possible to save a set of conditional format rules in Numbers?

I am a doctor, and I have a call schedule that comes out each month (in an Excel spreadsheet). So, I want to open up the spreadsheet in Numbers and have each instance of my name (Smith) highlighted, by setting the background of the cell to a fluorescent yellow. This is easy to do by using conditional formatting, and it works well.
My problem is that each time I want to use the same conditional formatting rule, I have to manually set it up. I would like to be able to save the 'rule', ideally linked to a toolbar button, so that I can run this conditional formatting on any Numbers spreadsheet with one (or two) click(s).
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Create a table with the conditional rules then use Format > Advanced > Capture Table
Each time you will create a new table from the captured table it will have all the source's attributes.
Of course, you must save in the native Numbers format.
If you export as Excel most of these settings will be lost.

Is it possible to use repository variable in conditional formatting . if no then is there any workaround for implementing the same....
Also i came across a sql of an init block.. which goes like 'exec OracleBi..procedure_name'
Is 'OracleBi..' a keyword or something like that....

    Refer http://www.biblogs.com/2008/09/03/obiee-repository-variables-filtering-and-conditional-formatting/

  • Can I set a conditional format as default in OBIEE 11g?

    Hi,
I would like to set all positive number be (green) and negative number be (red) for all tables in Analytics Web (OBIEE 11g). Apart from create conditional format for every tables, is there any way to set once only and apply for all reports?

    Hi User,
You can set system wide default by clicking on the button in conditional format tab.
*Make sure user has "Save System-Wide Column Formats" privilege to enable the option.

  • How to set the view format of the numbers in the tooltip.

By default a graph will automatically format the axis view to be a scaled value.
Example: 180321005 will show as 180 M on the axis label for the graph
There is a way to set the scaling on the y-axis of a graph so that it will not be displayed as a scaled number.
    m_graph.getY1Axis().getViewFormat().setScaleFactor(BaseViewFormat.SCALEFACTOR_NONE);
Now: Example: 180321005 will show as 180321005 on the axis label for the graph
But is there a way to set the scaling factor for the pop up tooltip that appears when the user mouses over a point on the graph?
Right now the tooltip view shows the y value as a scaled value; therefore, much of the number's percision is lost.

  • How to set a Conditional Format in a Crosstab

    Hello,
I think I have a straight forward problem, but after reading the instructions I can't seem to make this work.
    I am using BI 10.1.3.4.1
I have a crosstab that I have build as an RTF template that looks like the following
    name
rolename, priv name, priv desc muser
The report puts a 1, 2 or 3 value in muser. If it is a 1 or 2 I want the cell to be green if it is a 3 I want it to be Yellow
Here is my conditional format that I am trying to make work for just the 1's
    <?if:MUSER=1?>
    <xsl:attribute
    xdofo:ctx="block" name="background-color">green</xsl:attribute>
    <?end if?>
It doesnt seem to work. To make matters worse is NULLs out the value in Excel
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi,
I too use a cross tab with for-each@column/cell. For me the below code works. It colors the background.
For NULL values do ensure that you print the MUSER value within the IF block.
    Thanks.

    Hi all,
Is it possible to save the report in PDF format on the server?
In other words, in a web application:
    1) the user requests a report
    2) the report produced in PDF format, is saved on the server, where is the Java Reporting Component
    3) the report, in PDF format, is sent to the client's user
    Thanks a lot

PrintOutputController.export, get the byte stream, save on server.

  • Is it possible to save an Illustrator file as an older version?

I am running the latest version of Illustrator. My client has an older version of Illustrator. Is it possible to save it in an older format so it can be opened by my client?
    Thanks

Yes, you can choose the version of the file you are saving in the Illustrator Options window (second save dialog) at the top. But be advised that if you used any version specific options, they may not work the same in an earlier version (Drop Shadows [Gaussian Blur] items being the most obvious).

  • Is it possible to do conditional formatting in pivot table

I have created a duplicate layer of no of transactions which displays % of transactions.I need to highlight % above 50 in diff color. Is it possible in pivot table?

    Hi,
    Try this
In the criteria create one more column with formula as
100.0 * "Sales Facts"."Amount Sold" / REPORT_SUM("SH"."Sales Facts"."Amount Sold" BY ) ....this gives you the same result as percentage in Pivot table.
Replace Amount Sold by your measure column % of transactions.
Now set the conditional formatting in Criteria tab using this column. i.e if *100.0 * "Sales Facts"."Amount Sold" / REPORT_SUM("SH"."Sales Facts"."Amount Sold" BY ) > 50* then RED or whatever you want.
    Hope this works.
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to conditional format more than one cell at a time?

I'd like to use conditional formatting to compare the value in cell E3 with the valve in cell D3.  Then I'd like to copy the conditional formatting rule I made in cell E3  to cells E4 E5 E6 E7 ETC.  I'd like the E4 to compare to D4. E5 to compare to D5 and so on.  Is there an easy way to do this other than creating the rule for each cell?

    Easier, yes. Instant, no.
Assuming the only thing that will change in the rule from one cell to the next is the reference to the comparison cell, do this:
Select all of the cells to be formatted.
Set the comparison rule to apply to D3.
At this point all the selected cells in column D will base their conditional formatting on a comparison with the value in E3. The next step is to edit the rules for D4, D5, etc.
    Select cell D4.
In the rule statement, click on the cell reference E3 to select it, then click on the correct comparison cell for the selected cell (E4 for D4) to replace the reference.
Repeat with the next cell in column D.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.? I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not cell content.

Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.?
I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not the content, of the target cell(s).

    Hi Tom,
Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).
Please explain what you are trying to do.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Conditional Format Icon Sets not Displaying after SharePoint Update

We have a SharePoint 2013 site, and after we applied the update below, the conditional formatting for our primary dashboard no longer appears in Excel Services.  We have three different versions of the file and all have been
affected.  I have tried removing all of the conditional formatting, and re-applying it, but it does not work.
If the files are opened in Excel, they look perfect.   A blank, new file with the same conditional formatting rules work fine.
Any thoughts on how to correct the issue??

    Hi Barbara,
According to your description, my understanding is that the icon sets cannot be displayed in Excel files after installing SharePoint 2013 October CU.
The link to download the SharePoint 2013 October CU is not correct, it is October CU for SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to check the build number of your database to see if the right October CU for SharePoint 2013 is installed.
Here is the link of October CU for SharePoint 2013:

  • How do you get firefox 4 to save tabs and windows and restore them? Don't say set preferences to open them on startup or use restore previous session under history; those do not work. Or is it no longer possible to save windows and tabs?

    Question
How do you get firefox 4 to save tabs and windows and restore them? Don't say set preferences to open them on startup or use restore previous session under history; those do not work. Or is it no longer possible to save windows and tabs?

'''IT'S A EASY AS IT SHOULD BE.'''
This is essentially paulbruster's answer, but I've added the steps some might assume, but which aren't so obvious to those of us who are new at this, like me.
This solution might ''appear'' to be long and complicated, but after you follow the directions once, you'll find it's quick, clean, and simple. Almost like they designed it this way.
    # If you haven't already, open a bunch of tabs on a few different subjects.
    # Click the List All Tabs button on the right side of the tab strip.
    # Select Tab Groups.
    # Create a few groups as described [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-are-tab-groups#w_how-do-i-create-a-tab-group here] , i.e. just drag them out of the main thumbnail group into the new groups they create.
    # Now click on any thumbnail in any new group, but not the original big default group you may have left some tabs in.
#A regular Firefox window will open, but'' only the tabs in that group will be visible.'' You also now have the Tab Groups button in the tab strip.
    # Right click on any tab, and there it is: Bookmark All Tabs. Click on it in the list of options. Or you can hit Ctrl+Shift+D instead and go straight to the dialogue box from the tab without any clicks. But don't go looking for this familiar option anywhere else, 'cause it's not there.
    # Now pick an existing folder or create a new one just like you would have before and '''shlpam!''' there they are. New folders are supposed to end up in the Unsorted category all the way at the very bottom, but for some reason mine show up at the bottom of my last sorted category.
    # DO NOT CLICK THE UPPER-RIGHTMOST X to close this group of tabs. This will close ALL of your tabs in all groups, currently visible or not. At least it asks if you're sure first. Instead, click your new Tab Groups button to return to the Boxes 'O Thumbnails window, and click the X in the group box you just bookmarked.
    # Click on another thumbnail to repeat the process with another group, or click on a thumbnail in the big default box to return to the original FF window. You can also click the Tab Groups button at the upper right, or Ctrl+Shift+E, which will also get you ''into'' the Boxes 'O Nails window ''from'' FF.
    # So now when you reopen FF after shutdown, simply select your folder from your Bookmarks and Open All in Tabs. '''Just like paulbruster said. '''

  • How can I save a set of rules to easily make a number of changes at once in Adobe Acrobat 9?

So as of right now I'm importing a huge old paper trail into PDF format via scanning. Once those files are scanned, is there a way I can set up a simple rule or save a set of processes as a rule to:
    A) Add a watermark that says "DEPOSIT" and the date.
    B) OCR the document
    C) Remove blank scanned pages (I understand the white page is an image of a white page saved in the field).
A one-click solution would be optimal. I understand it's never that easy, but if you guys know any way to streamline it rather than going through these processes on every file (there are thousands in separate folders/days) I'd appreciate the help.

You can use a batch process to do the first two things. Removing blank pages is not possible in general, particularly for scanned pages since they will never be devoid of content. It would be possible to use JavaScript to see which pages do not have any text on them after OCR and then delete those pages, but it's not clear to me if this would be sufficient.
