Is Java FX picking up?

Java FX supports mobile platforms. It is a big advantage over Flex. Any comments?

Google phone supports Flash now, but it is the Lite version. Not sure if you can run Flex enterprise application on it.

  • Power of Java to pick up where it left off

    I am trying to develop a java application where if at some point a trigger is made, the JVM is stopped, and somehow saved somewhere / somehow and sent to another computer where this new pc will then carry on. Firstly is this possible?
    It would be okay for there to be a slight delay and at the moment i am thinking about serializing the objects to the other system but i dont know if that would work. Any ideas?

    Indeed it is but as a (possible) final year university
    project unfortunately it has to be. It may be too ambitious for that.
    The serialization point was merly my first thought but
    after looking at the messages on this forum
    possibilites of javaspaces, RMI and maybee even a
    CORBA implementation have jumped out as being
    technologies to help me. I have unfortunately not much
    experiance with any of these and so any explanation of
    either / any of them would be great.
    Thanks.javaspaces - possibly, but I'm not so sure.
    RMI - yes, this could help.
    CORBA - CORBA technology is not specific to Java. RMI uses CORBA. You shouldn't have to think about CORBA (until you get vague CORBA exceptions)
    The transferral of the data is the easy part. I think what's going to make this difficult is trying to Serialize an entire application. The only things that get serialized are non-static members of classes. If you Serialize a non-Serializable class, there are is no guarantee it will work. That means for this to work the way you are proposing, you cannot have any static varaibles and you cannot have any classes that are not Serializable in the application. These are very heavy constraints. It's going to be difficult to write a useful Java app that doesn't use static variables. And if you do, your process will only work with such applications. In addition, there are many classes in the SDK that aren't Serializable, so you can't use any of those either. Last of all, if for any reason the available classes on one JVM don't match up exactly with the available classes on another, the whole process will blow up in your face.

  • Webdynpro Java API Connection to MDM 7.1

    Hello,
    I have created several Webdynpro Java Applications to Connect to the MDM Repository and update/delete Records. To connect to the Repository ,I used the UserSession Context with which the userid/password is specified to connect to the Repository.
    Now , if in future the password changes, I have to modify it in the UserSession Context Object each time . So is there a way ,we just update the password in one central location/file and the Webdynpro Java Application picks it up from there.
    Any help would be highly Appreciated.

    Sure
    Thanks for the SAP Note, its a direct solution from SAP.
    However I didnt have much time to implement it so found a workaround.
    In my project we use MDM WD Configurations as well.
    So I created a dummy ItemDetails WD Configuration( whose project uses the Destination is configured to use PROPAGATION)
    line 1 : Created an emty RepositoryBean object : _repositoryBean = new RepositoryBean()
    line 2 : wdThis.wdGetUC_ItemDetailsInterface().setConfiguration("<MDM WD PROJECT>", "<MDM WD CONFIG>"); //could be any config : resultset search ID
    line 3 : (UserSessionContext)_repositoryBean.getUserSessionContext()
    And viola I got it without any more coding

  • What info do you want about Java i18n?

    Although this forum is an excellent resource for quick answers, it isn't always possible for participants to provide detailed solutions. Are there areas of Java i18n that you'd like to read more about, perhaps via a more lengthy technical article on the JDC? What are your suggestions?
    Regards,
    John O'Conner

    This may not be what you consider i18n, but
    I keep running into time zone problems, most
    recently with a customer in Germany. It seems
    that sometimes Java/Solaris picks up Daylight
    Saving Time correctly and sometimes not. I have
    duplicated the German machine's settings on
    my machine here in California, but it works correctly
    for me. We are using the same JDK exactly. The
    machines are not identical otherwise - the customer
    has a newer, more powerful Sun.
    A discussion of what needs to be done to get time
    zones to work consistently and correctly would be
    extremely valuable. Could it be a certain level of
    JDK (we use 1.3)? Some combination of Solaris
    patches? Environment variables to set? I can
    set a GMT offset explicitly, but we don't want customers
    to have to manually change this twice a year.
    By the way, see bug 4177450, which was closed 3
    years ago. Users on this forum are still reporting
    similar trouble. If this is due to user error rather than
    a bug, it's certainly worth a good description of how
    to do it correctly.

  • Problem with transfering unicode form data in MULTIPART/FORM-DATA

    HI experts,
    I have this web based multilingual application. Page 1(form6.jsp) is basic registeration form with 5 fields and one image upload to the server. Page 2(verify.jsp) is another jsp page for verification of UTF data entered in page 1.
    page 2 (verify.jsp) also uses a bean called (verify.java) for picking up values. page 3(insertEntry.jsp) is the page for inserting that data into the Database and uses a bean called (logicbean.java).
    Now, the problem im facing here is that if i use multipart/form-data, the unicode text filled in page1 is shown as garbage when its is transfered to page2 and displayed on page2. It is all gibberish. But if i do not use multipart/form-data, the unicode text transfered from page1 to page2 is displayed perfectly on page2.Im using devenagari(UTF) language for filling in details.

  • OSB - Accessing Operational Settings within Proxy Service

    Does anyone know if it is possible to access Operation Settings from within a Proxy Service?
    The use case is instead of logging, we perform auditing by inserting into a database. In certain environments, we would like to turn this off. I would like to reuse the Logs logging level field to decide whether or not to audit.
    So the message flow would have if (auditLevel = 'Warning') then BusinessService callout for auditing.
    Doing it this way lets operations choose whether or not to audit, instead of making code changes in different environments to choose whether or not to audit.

    Few months back I was also working on a similar requirement where client did not want to go for OSB configuration change (and even update) for changing the log levels or start auditing. After researching a little bit, we implemented java callout which used to read a property file and provide the value of auditing flag at runtime. We also created a java utility which used to clear the cache of server (because server loads & caches the property file after each restart). So whenever we have to make a change in auditing flag, we just change the value in property file and clear the cache of the server. This makes the fresh copy of property file available in server cache and OSB java callout picks the same.
    It was quite complex but the only better solution we could find. Please let us know if you get something better.

  • Creating a RFC application(SAP R/3) that connects to web portal.

    Hello Everyone,
    I need to create a rfc application that should connect to portal& fetch some data in some table according to some input parameters provided at runtime & display the data in TABLEVIEW control.
    Anyone can guide me on this i:e- how to go about it. What things i should know or should be aware of before creating this application. Any PDF documents , any help material, any guidance about the same will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Prasad
    [email protected]

    Hi Prasad
    I guess you are trying to develop an application which will run in ABAP stack and will connect to JAVA stack and retrieve some data from there(i.e from java)-correct me if I am wrong. if this is exactly what you want to do then I must say sorry since establishing this route of communicaton is not known to me. But i can suggest you a workaround where you create your application in java so that in runs Java stack picks up data from portal(i.e. WAS database) make call to some RFC from ABAP to persist that data in some ABAP table.
    Let me know if it makes sense to you.
    Cheers

  • How to handle Directory in File receiver adapter

    Hi
    I have a Mail (attachment) to File scenario in PI 7.11, where I need to send the message to one directory, if a certain condition is meet and an other direktory if that condition i not meet.
    More specifically, then my initial java mapping picks up 2 files and if the files cover the same period, then they should be merged and then sent to the following message mapping in the Operation mapping and after that sent to "Folder1". I have specified this Folder one in the receiver file communication channel.
    If the two files are not covering the same period, then the message should be sent to "Folder2" (which works as a trash folder). This Folder2 is specified in the javamapping by using dynamic configuration.
    In the receiver file communication channel I have ticked the "Directory" under Adapter-Specific Message Attributes.
    However, it all works fine, when the two files are NOT covering the same period, cause then the "Directory" variable is set under dynamic configuration by the java mapping, but when the two files DO cover the same period, then the file adapter errors cause I have ticked the "Directory" under ASMA but not assigned the variable under dynamic configuration.
    Of cause, one solution would be to assign the value for Folder1" in the java mapping, e.g. via a value mapping lookup, but I would like to avoid this.
    Is there a smart way to solve this challenge?
    Some code extracts:
    if (samePeriod(sb6157,sb6158))
                        StringBuffer sboutput = mergeFiles(sb6157, sb6158);
                        os.write(sboutput.toString().getBytes());
                   else
                        updateDynamicConfiguration("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","Directory","
    test$
    MILUN
    trash");
                        copyStream(is,os);
    private boolean samePeriod(StringBuffer sb6157, StringBuffer sb6158)
              int startText6157 = sb6157.indexOf("<PROCESSING_PERIOD_START>");
              int endText6157 = sb6157.indexOf("</PROCESSING_PERIOD_START>");
              String date6157 = (sb6157.substring(startText6157 +25, endText6157));
              int startText6158 = sb6158.indexOf("<PROCESSING_PERIOD_START>");
              int endText6158 = sb6158.indexOf("</PROCESSING_PERIOD_START>");
              String date6158 = (sb6158.substring(startText6158 +25, endText6158));
              return (date6157.equalsIgnoreCase(date6158));

    Hi,
    Why dont you use dynamic configuration for both Directory 1 & Directory 2???
    I had  a similar scenario where we have to define a directory name based on source file names. The sample code is as follows. You can modify this as per your requirement. Let me know if you have any issues.
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File", "FileName");
    and
    DynamicConfigurationKey key1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File", "Directory");
    conf.put(key, arg)
    String fileName = conf.get(key);
    if(filename.equals("file1.txt")){
         conf.put(key1, Directory1)
    else
         conf.put(key1, Directory2)
    return "";

  • How to set a frame size

    Hi

The trouble is when the application is run a small sized window is displayed on the top left corner as opposed to a 400*400 window. Although I can drag the widow to expand it, I was wondering if there was a way to set window's size.

  • IDOC to Flat file and Flat file to IDOC

    Hello Experts,
      I have the following requirement in my current project:
    Third Party Sender sends the data in the in the below XML format via HTTP:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <fxEnvelope>
      <header>
        <message>
          <exchangeID></exchangeID>
          <messageID></messageID>
          <subject></subject>
          <payloadType>IDOC</payloadType>
        </message>
        <from>
          <orgID></orgID>
          <locationID></locationID>
          <messageID></messageID>
        </from>
        <to>
          <orgID></orgID>
          <locationID></locationID>
        </to>
      </header>
      <body>
        <Opaque>
          <DataType></DataType>
          <DataStream></DataStream>
        </Opaque>
      </body>
    </fxEnvelope>
    In the above XML, the Tag <DataStream> is a string which contains the IDOC flat file.
    Now, the scenario is HTTP to IDOC, where the sender sends the above XML payload and PI needs to convert <DataStream> to IDOC XML and pass it on to the receiver R/3.
    But the challange i am facing is converting this <DataStream> tag which contains the IDOC flat file to IDOC XML using a Mapping program.Since both adapters are running on ABAP stack i can not go for Adapter Modules available(We are using PI 7.10).
    Looking for some guidance on the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Manasa.

    There are 2 options for you
    In either case, you might need a java mapping to convert the DataStream into String. Use a file adpater to write this string to IDOC-File.
    1) Option1: Write the content of DataStream into IDOC-Flatfile.(java mapping) Pick it from PI to convert IDOC-flat file inot IDOC-XML (using std features of PI) & send it to ECC.
    2) Option2: Write the Content of DataStream to IDOC-Flatfile (accessible to ECC system). Configure WE21 to pick the file from a file port.
    If the datastream was IDOC-XML, then it would have been simpler, it will be a direct communcation from PI to ECC (using java mapping & IDOC adapter).

  • J2re-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p Slient Intall not work... pls help...

    I've created a batch file to slient install j2re 1.4.2 for our PC, just like below:
    @echo off
    C:\java\j2re-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v "/qn /L C:\Java\setup.log REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 IEXPLORER=1"
    exit
    after I run the batch file, task manager showed the process "j2re-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p" for just a few second... after that, nothing has been done...
    I would like to ask what is the problem with the batch file ? our computer all running with WinXP SP2,
    Thank you very much

    Ok. I think i've found a solution that at least it's working for me. Don't ask me the exact details, because i'm no java expert. I believe it's related to the java version firefox recognise. In my case, since i'm using 2.0.0.6, all i did was add this parameter for my config section:
    jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet (pick the lastest one installed i guess).
    Now, everything it's working OK.
    Best regards, Luis ...!

  • Upgrading from 5.2 to 5.3

    Hi,
    I am looking at upgrading GRC from version 5.2 SP4 to 5.3 SP9. In relation to Access Enforcer, I see that it must be uninstalled and then 5.3 version installed. Will this mean that I would lose all existing configuration e.g. workflows, connectors? And will I lose existing request data?
    Thanks,
    Gary

    I have done a few upgrades, and if you follow the upgrade guides you should be fine.
    You will have to do a few adjustments in ABAP and Java to pick up the new functionality, but it can be done in less than a day if you know what you're doing
