Is Mail a little buggy this time around ?? (10.4.6)
Powerbook G4 1.67Ghz - 2Gb ram- 10.4.6 (all up to date, no bugs, running fine, repaired disk permissions, etc....)
Mail issue -
(I never had this problem before going to .6) - I have 6 email accounts, NO signatures for anyone of them. I then create a signature for one of them under its accounts name (not under "all"), choose the signature name as what I want this account to "choose" when making a email, double check, I have 1 signature under the account name set up correctly, I also now have 1 signature under "All Signatures", it is correctly the same signature I just created AND the same name (obviously).
I then close up preferences, and for good measure quit mail, and relaunch. I highlight my account I just created a signature for, pick "new" to make a new email, and viola, the signature is there, as I asked, as I set up, send the email, everything great.
GREAT , everything working properly right ? NO, check this out.
#1- I noticed something odd even though it was working when in the email window I was making, my signature chooser was on "none", but yet my signature showed up. I could not choose the name of the signature because it wasn't even there as a choice, there was just "none" !! Weird, but my signature was there in the actual email, so no big deal....... BUT THEN ---
#2- I then decide to choose to email from another account (or quit mail and relaunch- happened twice), send a email with no signature, did, no big deal.
THEN chose my other account ( that I made a signature for) to create a another email, and my signature isn' there ! It also (because it never was) isn't able to be chosen in the signature chooser on the email window, still just "none"... HERE IS THE WEIRD PART that has happened now like 10 times, I then open preferences, go back to "Signatures" and under the accounts name from which I created this signature, it says 0 signatures !!! I was like *** ??, BUT under "All Signatures" it says I have 1 signature, and it IS the signature !!??!! -- WEIRD--
I then have no way of picking it and assigning it back to my account for which I made it for, PLUS even though its there under "All", I have no way of choosing to use that signature in a email composition...
The only way out of it is I constantly have to copy it from the "All Signatures" place and paste it into the account I want it for. It then lasts until I either quit and relaunch Mail, OR until I choose another account then come back....

Can I get an answer this time around?...
Im looking for an inexpensive mountable video light for on the fly interviews. It just has to able to be dimmed, not just have the average on/off switch. I dont mind lugging around the battery packs and Im only looking to spend less than $150 on the lights/package. Links and reasons would be well appreciated.

TrollsyAlright, Scratch the old budget, how bout less than $300. Im doing on the fly interviews and I want them to come out looking superb. I have came across a whole bunch of bescor but Ive only used them once or twice, not enough time to really establish whether they are good or not. I noticed their low price range and was just curious if there are other similar lights that would be comparable, if not better. and how they stacked up against other pro lights. Thank you, and I am sorry I dont know that much!

Sample Rate Madness : What Did I do This Time?
I typically record at 24/48, but last week I had to mix an old project that was originally recorded at 24/44.1. I had some problems switching to and from 44.1 and 48k, probably due to my M-Audio Lightbridge, which seems a little buggy at time. It's clocked over lightpipe by the master, hd24XR, which is also set to match.
Problem:
I changed the autload to 44.1 while mixing the project, it made the devices more stable not having to change back and forth. I forgot to change the autoload back, and recorded a new project today. Both the XR and Lightbridge were set properly to 48k.
I didn't discover my error until the session was 2/3 done, but I had gone back and forth about whether the audio didn't sound quite the same on playback. It seemed a little clearer when I was tracking, as I was probably listening to D/A at 48k. When I checked the files, they were at 44.1. Its nice that I noticed the difference, but I messed up. oops...
Question:
Where did the conversion from 48 to 44.1 take place? The XR said 48, and the Lightbridge said 48 on both the hardware and software control panel. Did Logic automatically down-convert? Or, please tell me no, the M-Audio Lightbridge?

Changing the header will not alter the samples/audio data of the files. What you do is change it to the actual sample rate (WC) used when the recording took place, when it presently states the old session sample rate - you then change your session sample rate.
Whats the quickest way to change them all?
As always make backups. I don't know what you have for software (beyond Logic, WaveBurner, iTunes...) there is a free utility called soundhack which should take care of this in minutes - ( I don't know how many you have ).
So, you change the SR for all files then reopen the session.

I upgraded a week ago and every since it constantly stops in the middle of running and says "Mozilla Firefox not responding" the screen goes grey and the the little blue circle goes around and around its so annoying and does it all the time like while I'm typing this it has happened twice, it didn't do this till I updated.
hummm never had it do that till I upgraded last week PLUS I lost all my Favorites/Bookmarks that really pissed me off my husband and I lost ALL of them I have had them for years and I upgrade and lose them can't even tell you how mad we were 8o/ very frustrating to say the least. try resetting your phone by turning it off and back on again. The servers may still be having a hard time keeping up, so you may just need to wait a little while and try again.

lots of people seem to be havgin a problem sending email from iCloud webmail.
does your email address have uppercase characters in it?
if so, try creating an alias in lowercase (go to preferences in iCloud webmail and select 'accounts') and see if email sends okay from that -
My macbook pro (August 2010) keeps freezing when apple mail starts up. This happens every 2nd time I turn on my Macbook Pro. This forces me to hold down the power button to restart my Macbook Pro. Does anyone else experience this, and is there a fix? Thx.
since upgrading to OS lion, my mac book pro (2010 August) keeps freezing (non responsive, requires restart) when i turn on my mac and the system is trying to open apple mail. while apple mail is attempting to collect new mail, the macbook pro freezes. this happens every 2nd time i try to start up my computer. this only started happening after i upgraded to OS lion. please let me know what I need to do to fix this. being forced to restart every 2nd time i turn on my macbook pro has been very frustrating. not sure if apple mail is also the cause of my macbook pro for being very slow during start-up (on the occasion the computer doesn't freeze).I am having similar 'freezing' problems with many programs (Mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.). I have done a clean install of Lion instead of an upgrade when it came out. Perhaps something went wrong with my install? I'm thinking about wiping and reinstalling.

For the past week I have not been able to send both simple and attached messages through my icloud e-mail.
The error reads: this message cannot be sent at this time. i have the latest version of Firefox, I have even changed my password in hopes that this would resolve the issue, but alas, it hasn't worked. HELP!This is a terrible customer experience for Apple users. I have been dealing with this same issue since April 2012; all used to work just fine and then suddenly -- "Cannot send message" error appears.
When is Apple going to fix this? I have two iPads and an iPhone but often need to access files from my PC (next time, it'll be a Mac),

I ordered Adobe XI pro last year and need to reinstall it. I cannot find my serial number. I downloaded the software online. Can you look up my order. I ordered it last year around this time.@
Once you get your S/N and download the software, back them up to a CD or backup HD. Not doing that is like purchasing a CD, installing software, and tossing the CD in the trash.

So my icloud and apple store account just stopped accepting my old password.
This included my iphone, apple tv, macbook air and my wife's ipad
I resent my password
Updated all the accounts and all seems to be good with the exception of the OSX Mail client
That seems to be an issue connecting to icloud

Mail gives the following error: mail cannot be enabled at this time wait a moment and the try turning on mail again
I've enable my mail again by adding my icloud again as a separate account to Mail Contacts and Calendars
Weird thing is it only has mail and notes as options.
I know this fix is a temporary hack, and I'd like to get a permanent solution
I've also been checking my credit card linked to the account pretty obsessively to see if theres any issue on that end. No problems so far.

I bought the song say something and it tried to download and it's in my library and I can play it but it has that little cloud thing beside it and when I tap it, it says that the done can't be downloaded at this time. How can I get it to download? It's been like this for a couple weeks.
You can download it on your computer at no extra charge and then sync it to your ipod

Outlook 2011 SP2 Mac Clients - Mail could not bve received at this time...
After Upgrading to Office SP2 for the Mac, our Mac Clients can no longer Connect to the Exchange server
Server: Version 14.1 (Build 218.15) / 0.1 (8.0.535.0)
Client:14.2.2 (1202421)
The Error we get just after launch is:
Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account "" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password." Your username/password or security setting may be incorrect. Would like to try re-entering your password?
When this happens and you click yes, to try to enter your password again, your account typically gets locked out on the AD Domain after a few attempts.
We have tried the keychain workaround/solution to no avail, we have rebuilt Profiles, Cleaned and Compressed the Identity Database, etc... No Love
I can login to the https://mail.domain.com//EWS/Exchange.asmx url and it comes back with the WSDL file.
The only thing I have found that Might be a possible solution was this:
