Is my 6233 is faulty?

I have purchased the new nokia 6233. i am using internet through gprs on my computer. During the data transfer i am not receiving any call. My friend is having 3110C and when any incoming call comes during the data transfer he not facing such type of problem and he is able to receive the call. Please give me the solution

What would you classify as intensive streaming bandwidth wise, also what are the the Homehub's limits on being overloaded, basically what can it cope with? Sorry for the wording it's just I have never encountered this with any previous routers.
Edit: There are other devices connected at the same time but they are just idle- connected not doing any streaming etc. These devices are: HTC One (Phone), Google Nexus 7 (Tablet), 2x Blackberry (Phones) and an iMac. Could just the presence of these devices be "overloading" the wireless?

  • 6233 memory card disappeared!

    Can anyone advise me please?
I have recently used my scandisk 1GB mini SD card to take some photographs on my regular digital camera using the adapter.
However, I have just re-inserted the mini SD back into my Nokia 6233 and it's disappeared! I can't find it anywhere!
The card is not faulty because when I insert it into my PC, my data is still on there. It's just my phone isn't reading it!
I've tried restoring the factory settings but it hasn't worked.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks

Hey. I just tried reformatting the card on my PC but it still hasn't worked!
Any other clues? Or do you think it's ANOTHER problem my phone has developed? I've had so many problems with this model. It's my third handset from 02 already so it wouldn't surprise me if it's a phone problem.
This only happened when I used it in my digital camera and now my mobile just isn't recognising it anymore. Its not even listed but it works fine on the PC.Message Edited by cez2007 on 05-Sep-200707:29 PM

  • Cark 91 and 6233, CR-56 & CA-55

    Hi everyone
does anyone know how to get my 6233 to charge now that I have added a CA-55 and CR-56 to my old Cark 91. I get a message saying charger not supported!!
according to nokia the CR-56 charges the phone!!
    Cheers
    Graham

    Hi Guys,
    = another update =
I found this on the web:
Just to help clarify issues with the pop port charging. All pop port equipped phones (except 6630) CAN physically charge through the pop port. It is hard wired in parallel to the normal charge socket. If you plug the pop cable from the car kits, including the CA-55 adaptor, directly into the phone then charging takes place, by the way, I have tried this with nearly every single Nokia pop port equipped phone that I can think of.
The problem arises when you try to use the cradles! For some reason best known only to Nokia not all cradles give the correct information to the phone about what is plugged in! Some phones report "accesory not supported" and therefore charging is not allowed by the phone, not that it cant. A future firmware upgrade may solve this in the future. Some phones simply do not charge, this may be poor cradle design or simply a faulty cradle.
Either way its further complicated by conflicting information on the Nokia website.
If you are having problems, then plug the cable directly into the phone WITHOUT THE CRADLE to see if its charging. If it is then your issue is with the cradle not the car kit. If it reports "accessory not supported" then a firmware issue needs to be resolved. If nothing happens at all then the car kit is faulty, not wired correctly or may not be a genuine Nokia kit or cable!
I would be delighted to hear of a Nokia model that wont charge through the cable and I can check with my own if you wish but I have not come across one yet, except 6630!

  • Call Waiting 6233??

Just had my 6233 changed as the other ended up going faulty after trying to upgrade the firmware..
Anyway, got my new handset, set up the diverts and call waiting, tried doing it two ways, through the handset menu-settings-call etc and putting it in using 1211 & *43# checked to see that alls working & active and it is... i have it set up so if im on the phone and some one tries to ring me it beeps in my ear so i then look at the display and can then see whos calling...if i dont answer it will then go to my answerphone..
This isnt working... if im on the phone and try ringing from another line, it just goes straight to my answer phone???
Ive been onto thus (who our business contract is with) no help.. they say theres a problem with the VODAPHONE network, so i ring 191 (Vodaphone) they say theres nowt wrong with the network it must be your handset??!?! Its a brandnew handset and works perfect and has the latest firmware 4.91
    Has anyone any ideas?!?!
    Cheers
    Nick

The only problems I've had with call waiting in the past have all been network related...
Try a different sim in the phone, another different one that you're 100% certain call waiting is activated on.

  • Nokia 6233 lost calculator

hello everybody: I lost the calculator, which used to be part of Organizer menue, it used to be NO.5 on the menue. I updated the phone firmware, but it is still missing. anybody know how do i get it back. I wont to thank nokia team for adding 6233 to the list of phone updater, I'm more satisfied with the device now, it's faster and more reliable.

The Nokia 6233 Can be Updated or re-insstalled using the Nokia Software Updater here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_14905
Back up your phone and then download the updater and re-install the software on your handset.
This should then restore the software to its factory default settings.
If the updater says that no software is available, this does not matter, just tick the box shown in the display and download and re-install it.
This should then put all the applications back in the original places and your calculator should have returned.
If this is not the case then the handset is faulty and you should follow Psychomania's advice and take your handset to a Nokia Service Point.
lamtapioca - Do not post your IMEI number in an Open forum as this comprehmises your handset - unless one of the moderators sees it then you should remove it.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • 6233 screeb brightness

Just received a new 6233 today and the screen won't light up. Keypad lights up ok, but the screen has no backlight. I can see the screen contents if held into the light, so its there. Is there any way of turning the lights on or wold it be a faulty phone?

Yes, its faulty. What would the point be in just lighting up the keypad? If there was an option to turn it off it would do both.

  • 6233 Game Freezing, Problem Or Not?

I bought the 6233 yesterday, and the Snake game freezes every time I go on it. Is this a problem with the phone, or the game? Also, sometimes when I have been into contacts for example, it takes a while to fade from the screen once I have come off the contact list if you know what I mean.
    Any help apreciated.

I have done the 5.10 firmware update, and it is still freezing so I have rang Nokia and they advised to return the phone as it is faulty, it shouldn't develop this after 2 days! (only got it Wednesday) So back to 02 I went and got a refund. Back to my trusty old 6230i now.

  • Nokia 6233 - Display Cracked on Charging

I purchased a Nokia mobile model 6233 on sep 7th 2007. at Univercell shop at Velacherry, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Within one week of its purchase, the hands free did not work. When I approached the velacherry Univercell showroom, they asked me to go to Univercell Showroom at Alwarpet. On Sep 20th night 12 pm I plugged the mobile for charging it in the same plug point where I have been charging all mobiles for years. But I was shocked to see the display broken the next day morning. When i approached the service centre at Univercell, the service person talk was very cold and unfriendly. Never expected such a bad response from a dealer shop of high profile mobile brand like. Again after 2 hours of persuasion, they asked me to shuttle to Velacherry showroom of Univercell and talk to them. When we approached the velacherry show room, they again made us wait for a long time and finally agreed to make a jobsheet to Nokia. The response like this from dealers of Nokia is totally irritating, they are not even ready to look into the issue and right away dispensing off as the customers fault and not ready to take it as apossibility of manufacturing defect. I hope you understand the customers frame of mind after purchasing it for 8.5k and immediately finding that its a faulty piece. I request you to look into this issue. I have also attached the battery model and handsfree set along with the mobile unit.

A power surge (voltage spike) will NOT cause a cracked LCD! The device is protected by a circuit that will fail (causing an open circuit on the charger input) at anything above 18 volts therforeprotecting anything ele in the phone including the LCD. The LCD failure will co-incedental possibly due to a weak LCD, thermal shock or physical damage. If the glass of the LCD is intact and the LCD has simply "leaked" internally and there is no sign of external damag to the phone then Nokia normaly cover that under warranty otherwise they will consider it customer damage (as 99.9999% of it always is) and not cover it under warranty! I am not saying that this particular occurence is customer damage but it is rare to be anything else!

  • Updates for 6233

When will updates be available through PC Suite for the 6233? Is there a JAVA-program like the default on the E 50 for easy transfer of contacts and calendar via Bluetooth?

I don't understand how Nokia can be so completely unresponsive and unsupportive of customers who in good faith purchased the 6233. The 6233 is a potentially wonderful phone that so far, in reality, is virtually ruined by buggy firmware and an almost complete lack of support by Nokia. That they have the nerve to not provide updates online for this model is causing me to 1) sell my Nokia stock, and 2) make sure my next phone is anything but Nokia. What a shame because this phone could be so great were it not for the faulty firmware and lack of support.
download the nokia software updater, connect your 6233 and it will update to the latest firmware which is 5.10. 4.91 was a significant update from 3.71 as it offered a2dp and a faster menu navigation. if it updates to 4.91 and not 5.10 don't worry because 5.10 isn't much of improvement from 4.91.
so nokia does offer support to our beloved 6233.

  • Lack of customer service etiquette for faulty product

I acquired an Apple MacBook Pro i15 inchi n early 2012 and it performed beautifully until Apple released their latest OS named Mavericks. Upon being advised of Mavericks userbility,I decided to upgrade my OS via Apple's Itunes Store. Suddenly,my machine would not boot up and cuts off during operation. I immediately went to the Apple store, located in NYC Fifth Avenue, only to be informed there would be a surcharge of $310 to repair an hardware issue caused by Apple's software upgrade. Subsequently,an Apple employee followed up with a price compromise of half the original amout stated. My response to Apple is my back up PC which is eight years old has been repaired complimentary free of cost by Sony in the past two (2) years for a faulty battery.
Mark my words Apple,I currently own a $2,000 Apple paperweight and I will never acquire, advise or initiate a friend, foe, associate or colleague to purchase any of your products.
Good luck trying to compete against Amazon's Kindle,Dell's Alienware and last but not least your outsourcing competitor, namely Samsung.(Hint:Their customer service retains their customers) The art of good business is bringing people together.

  • Faulty Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT  - Should I leave computer on?

    Hi All,
I recently began encountering issues with my MacBook Pro, purchased April 2008. Never had any problems before, and a few day ago, I tried to use skype and green vertical lines appeared across the screen and the system froze. I did a hard shut down, re-booted, and saw the vertical lines again. Once again, system froze. When I tried to reboot the next time, there was no start-up chime, no apple logo, just the spinning wheel and system freeze.
I believe that I have the faulty Nvidia video cards that Apple has issued statements/refunds about. However, I am in rural Mexico for the next month and can't bring my computer into the Apple Store until I return to the States.
My computer won't start at all in regular mode, but it will boot in Safe Mode and function pretty normally. It does take a long time to boot up though, each time I do it. So far, I have booted, shut down, and booted again a day later successfully.
I am wondering if it is better for me to leave it on (and plugged in), rather than shutting down and rebooting when I need to use it? I am trying to use it minimally, but still need it sometimes while I'm here. Is it risky to shut it down each time? I am afraid that eventually, it might not boot at all. But, I don't know if it would be worse to leave it on...
    Any advice would be great!
    Thanks so much!

    Hi-
Safe Mode disables graphics drivers and only allows for basic function of display processes.
This basic environment is much less stressful than with drivers and is why the machine will operate properly; the graphics hardware is not "pushed" to work.
I wouldn't worry about turning the machine on and off, or even sleeping, while using Safe Mode.
It does take longer to start, but this is due to system checks, function disabling and system repairs that occur during the startup process in Safe mode.
I would limit use to essentials, turn it on when needed, off for overnight and extended periods, and definitely get it to an Apple repair center as soon as possible.

  • My early 2008 has a faulty  NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPU.

A random day my early 2008 MacbookPro could not turn on its display when i powered it on. I sent it to Apple and they told me that it has a faulty GPU. (and that it was a known issue for the "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT") But there have been 4 years and 4 month since I bought it.
They told me that thay couldn not fix the problem because I bought that Macbook 4 years and 4 months ago. It cant understand why I have to pay for a known faulty hardware problem!
I really loved using that macbook pro for 4 years but knowing that it has a known faulty hardware and that Apple is not willing to help me just makes me angry.
I LOVE APPLE so i think there may be a way to get this done. THX

It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

  • I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4S. My old iPhone had been unable to sync for some time and I blamed it on the faulty cable. With my new cable I tried to sync the 3 before advancing to the 4S to be sure I had all my data. Will not sync.

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4s. My old iPhone had not completed a sync in some time because of a faulty cable. But the old phone still will not sync properly even with the new cable.
Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.

I'm not sure what made the difference, but I tried again and it worked this time. ???????????

  • 6233 message recipient choices

When starting a new text message on a 6233 to choose a recipient you are presented with the list of options below
    Recently used
    Open log
    Contact
    Contact group
As most text message recipients are going to be in your contacts list it would more sense for this to be the first option as opposed to "recently used"

Taking into consideration that usually messages are sent to the same small group of people the option "recently used" looks to be in place
