Is my Apple ID password the same as my iTunes password?
Newer to the Apple family and have had to reset my iTunes password tonight. Then had to go to my apple ID and reset that - it only recognized the password I'd just changed in iTunes...are they the same password? Are my passwords for apple items the same across the board???? Sorry for the ignorance, thanks for the help.

When I try to log onto my Apple ID to use facetime, it will not work and tells me to check my connection. I have even tried creating a new apple ID but the same message appears. I do not understand why this is happening, could anyone help me resolve this issue it is very frusterating that I can not enable facetime or imessage.
I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.

Seems my iCloud password is not the same as my iTunes. Where do I go to reset my iCloud password? I cannot access anything when prompted to put in my iCloud password because I do NOT know it. Thanks! Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -
Somehow created two apple ids on the same email
Hi there,
I recently gave my other half my old iPad, however she went to sign into her apple id/ iCloud account and in the process somehow changed my iCloud settings such as my password.
I tried signing in today and was prompted to enter the new password, which I had, however it seems to have created a brand new apple id, using the same email address as before. I'm unable to access my app purchases and the extra space I bought on the iCloud.
Some (metaphorical) wires seemed to have been crossed somewhere, I was just wondering if someone could help me out with this.UPDATE:
I've found the email address my other half has changed my apple id to. However when I try to access the icloud it asks me to set it up. All the files I had such as photos and contacts appear to have disappeared, so has the extra storage.
I've spoken to someone at Apple and they said they can still seem the extra content and all the files, however I'm still unable to sign into the account with the amended email address. -
I created my Apple ID in Ireland, but would now like to switch to a German Apple ID, keeping the same email address. How do I delete my old Irish Apple ID, so I can create a new German one with the same email?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support. -
This morning Find My Phone alert went off on all my devices connected to my Apple ID at the same time, is this a bug or should I be worried that my id is hacked? I didn't have Find My Phone app installed on many of these devices. Please advice. Thanks in advance.
If you have enabled Find My iPhone/iPad on your devices, any one with access to your Apple ID and Password can Play Sound on your devices.

No. You can share the same Apple ID for iTunes content, but for everything else...FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc., you really need separate Apple ID's & these iD's must be verifiable email addresses. If you don't set things up that way, you'll have a mess on your hands.

What if my Apple ID is the same as my AOL email address?
If my Apple ID is the same as my AOL email address but the passwords are different, do I still need to change it? I logged out of iTunes and back in as instructed but no prompt to change my Apple ID.
If your iTunes account is an AOL email address then it's not affected, it's only AOL username (e.g. without the '@aol.com') iTunes accounts that need to be converted by the end of March to be an email address instead.
Your iTunes account password and the password that you use to login to your AOL email account (for viewing/sending email) don't have to be the same, and it's more secure if they aren't. -
2 iPhones and 2 Apple Watches on the same Apple ID
My household has 2 iPhones and 2 Apple Watches on the same Apple ID. When using the Apple Watch to contact one another (taps, drawings, heartbeat), the alert is duplicated on both Apple Watches. Is there a fix to this?
iMessage has a setting that allows each device to select from which phone number (or email) alerts are received. I see no setting like this on the Apple Watch for watch-based communication...Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library. Note that once done you cannot "share" apps under a single Apple ID. Each of you must purchase your own apps under your own Apple ID. When you decide to split up like this one of you will need to re-purchase the apps that they want to use.
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data. Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

It could be. Usually, the Apple ID is your email address. Your iCloud email address will be derived from it. There is no "iCloud ID" because all that is used is your Apple ID. For example:
Email address is: [email protected]
Your iCloud email address will then become [email protected]
The password you choose for your Apple ID is used as your password for icloud.com. -
I subscribed to iTunes Match and would like to sync my music on multiples devices that have different Apple IDs within the same iCloud family.

So yea is it possible for multiple or more than one apple IDs to have the same billing address, like those created for use by members restrictively within a specific family for example??
It is possible but no more than 3 different Apple IDs for the same credit card. If you need more than three (more members of the family or a small business with 4 or more people who need individual Apple IDs) you can use one or more iTunes gift cards instead of a regular credit or debit card.

Can I authorize mulitple apple ids on the same device so that what is purchased on either account will be loaded in both devices without having to use the same ID?
My wife has a laptop and an iphone 4s, I have a laptop and and iphone 4s, our two sons have our old iphone 3s, we have an old laptop for our sons to use. Our old iphones for our sons are deactivated as phones - so they are used as i-touches for songs, pictures and aps. I want to use icloud (which I'm new to) to hopefully have all four iphones and all three computers stay synced with at least music - if not aps and pictures. My wife has an apple ID and I have one. I'd like to authorize all three laptops for both apple IDs so that we will still have our own accounts, but everything either of us buys will be automatically loaded into all three laptops and all four iphones. Can this be done?

iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use. -
Do you need to use an email as an apple ID? We have a family email which is currently the apple ID so I can keep track of purchases but i have 2 iPhones and 2 itouches. Can all 4 devices have different apple ID under the same email address. Also I wanted to know because for the game center we wanted to keep track of each individual not just o e account. We have two iphones each with a different apple id - can i use the same laptop and itunes for back up, restore and updates without risking having my apps overwritten. Basically does itunes keep the two iphones as two separate entities ? Does iTunes differentiate between the two devices and keep two different SYNCs ?
Yes, you can use the same computer for BACK UPS, RESTORING AND UPDATING. But that is it.
You cannot, however, use it to sync the different devices. iTunes will only recognize one device to sync with and if you sync any other devices with that iTunes library, it will replace what is on the phone with whatever is in the library. It cannot differentiate between devices. At most, it will jsut recognize that the phone has been synced with a different iTunes library.
So if you would like to use the same computer for backing up, restoring and updating, just make sure to turn of Automatic Syncing in your iTunes Preferences.
