I would like to know if the following case is possible:
I have a Web site in JSP with Servlets HTTP and JAVA Class. In the JSP and Servlets pages I declare several variables of session, and I would like to know if it is possible to obtain the value of the variables of session from the[b] JAVA files.
For example:
In a JSP page I create a variable of session:
String exampleVariable = new String();
session.setAttribute("UserVariable", exampleVariable);
.....Now In Java File, Can I obtain the value of UserVariable ??

Videochat not possible this computer does not support video chats

Hi there, since yesterday its not possible to to start an video chat. It's grey. In the preference of "mesage" under the tap "video" shows the message "this computer does not support video chats. There is no problem with the camera, i can use facetime video and skype video.

Try:
Quit iChat.
Open Terminal (it's in the Utilities folder, in the Applications folder).
In Terminal type or paste this command on a single line:
defaults write com.apple.iChat newbwdup 300000
Press Return.
Quit Terminal.
Open iChat.

iTunes version 10.6.3 was released June 2012 and works with Lepoard OS 10.5.8. If the version of iTunes on your MacBook is older then you could try updating to version 10.6.3.

Short Version: I want one computer to plug into another computer for internet.
Long Version: I have a desktop that has a wireless card for internet since the router has to sit on the other side of the room. I have another desktop without a wireless card. I want the second desktop to just get internet through the first. How can I do this?

I've got this set up with an old Mac Mini. dhcpcd wouldn't acquire a lease, though, so I stuck the OpenDNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf instead.

Hello, I'm from Hong Kong. You guys must be wondering why I'd post in a foreign forum instead of local one - I cant find any support from my local forum. I cant even find this model form my local Website.
First of all, I brought this laptop (Envy 14) in 2013 from my so called "University Notebook Scheme". But once I got my first Envy, problem arised - my screen keeps flashing. I went back to the store and replaced it with a new one. Yet, this "new one" keeps having "DPC_watchdog_violation" almost everyday, no matter what Im doing - browsing the Net, using iTunes, even when Im using Microsoft Office for my assignments.
I've tried many solutions suggested: updating software & drivers, and reinstalling the windows; nothing works. Instead, more problem arised throughout these 2 years: my screen starts to flash, sometimes I cant even turn my computer on (power button on with a black, turned on, screen). I cant update my windows - "Failure configuring Windows updates, Reverting changes" and got stuck in the update loop.
I'm scared to do anything with this laptop now, even typing this "problem discription". I stored every files into the Dropbox for safety purposes. I save my Word documents every minutes, try to run as less programme as I could.
I've been wondering if this is a hardware problem, a serious one. Some of my classmates also got this Laptop from the University Scheme as well, most of them reported with the same issue (especially for the screen/display issue). With the notorious HP's repair and warranty service, I'm discouraged to sent my Laptop to them. I've even heard that I'll be charged even I'm still under warranty.

Is it possible to use T : FCHR to show a list of Checks as Encashed

My goal is to Manually input a BATCH of Vendor checks as Cashed so I get them off the Outstanding Check Listing.
I do not receive an on-line listing of cashed checks from our bank.
Is it possible to show a group of checks as cashed manually if I:
1- export into Excel the Outstanding Check Listing
2- copy a portion of the check numbers that I want to show cashed
3-paste the group to FCHR
4-Fill in the Encashed date and value date for the batch
5- choose KZ ( vendor payment)
6-Save
I have tried this and it does not appear to take the checks off the outstanding.
Is there another step I should be doing ............. or possibly this way of manually clearing a batch of checks off the outstanding will not work at all in FCHN?

You can make it work by using the logic of populating the node itself with modified values.
i.e. during the population of the first node populate the text with the text from the second node by looping through its elements
one by one.
node 1 -- during its population or may be after its population loop though its elements and modify the value of text
with the proper value taken from the corresponding value of text from the corresponding element of node 2.

Possible to connect MacPro to os9.2 on G3 (BW G3-400) ?

I just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Apple support trying to network my old G3 with my new MacPro. Why was it so difficult? I don't know...but it may have something to do with the techs not being born when the G3 came out ;0) The final word from the second tech —who spent most of his time checking documents online vs. actual knowledge: "We consider os9 an obsolete os and no longer support it."
My aim is to have a mounted os9 HD/Desktop on my MacPro so that I can copy files. What I have now is the G3 booted up in OS 10.3.9—the latest system it can run—and I'm able to share ONLY the items in OSx, with the exception of the os9 Applications folder. I cannot access the G3's OS9 desktop from the MacPro. Of course the os9 classic desktop is easily available from the G3's os10 desktop.
What's frustrating is that from the MacPro, I can even SEE the os9 desktop alias, it just won't connect:

When I click the Desktop (Mac OS 9) icon, it just gives info. When I try to fix the alias, it can't find the os9 desktop, no matter where i look.
I CAN access the Applications (Mac OS 9) folder though and get get files out of it. (I made an alias of the os9 HD and put it in the Apps folder and have a temp. solution) Why can't I share the os9 desktop?
On my old computer: I still have programs I like to use in os9 and can't afford to update all of them. I like to keep my G3 booted in os9 because these apps work too slowly when using Classic out of osX. I know its possible to share the os9 desktop from a MacPro because at work, we have a scan station running os9 that we can share on our osX network, but know one can tell me how.

In the long run, however, either update the OS on this G3 to Tiger if possible or replace it.

Is it possible to know the maximum db output of a pair of headphones based on your laptop volume

Hello all, I just joined the forum on advice from r/audioengineering. I asked this question over there and they thought you would be better to answer.
My question is fairly straightforward (may not be simple).
Is there a way to know the maximum db output of a pair of headphones (such as SONY MDR 7506) at a set system output on a macbook pro (for example 4 bars)?
Ideally I would like to know that the headphones cannot exceed a level (say 75db) no matter what I throw at it. Then I can set the volume level of the mac, and stop worrying about headphone volume for ear damage.
I produce music on my laptop for hours on end and the volume of the sound can vary widely quickly when different effects and sounds are introduced.
I know there are headphones that limit the db output, but the limit is too high (usually 95 or 100 db) from what I have seen.

This is a difficult question to answer with any exactness as it depends on a number of factors. Program, test phones sensitivity/resistance...meter response/calibration...etc...
I just did a quick measurement on a pair of 7506's using a phonic tool with program (classic rock) at ear cup, unweighted. with program approx. -5 bars on the "volume display" was approx. 75db
With pink noise approx -6 bars about a 75db average (you can subdivide each bar by 4 using shift+option)
Max w/pink noise 88db.
This was all sourced from iTunes with the volume on iTunes all the way up.
Keep in mind this was quick and dirty, but may give you an idea. As I mentioned before there are a ton of variables involved, and this was done quickly.

I should have also mentioned that this is db SPL, and I had the mic in between the cups to iso it from some ambient noise. I don't know if all the machines are alike in output and gain structure.

Is it possible to install a 3G SIM card reader to Satellite M645-S4070

I have Satellite M645-S4070 laptop with serial no. YA153766K.
It is WiMAX ready and also has a SIM card slot but does not have a SIM card reader.
I took a slight look inside and it does have something that has "3G" written on it.
Would it be possible to install a SIM card reader to my laptop?
I know, that I could also use a 3G USB modem but it would be a lot more convenient to get connection without additional devices around my laptop.

Im not quite sure if its possible to upgrade this unit with an 3G module but if it would be possible, this needs to be done by Toshiba authorized service technician.

Basically The Sharing would be done first from the Laptop, and the connection to the iPad would just be bluetooth pairing which would be done through the Bluetooth settings in Settings.

Spaces Keyboard Freeze, Possible Insight?

I’m one of the thousands who are struggling with the use of Spaces and the locked up keyboard. When I use my keyboard to move between spaces, the Spaces image remains on the screen, freezing up my keyboard so that only limited buttons still work. The most effective way I’ve found to combat this is to open Activity Monitor and quit the Dock, thus giving me full control of my keyboard back again.
However, in the past 24 hours I’ve discovered something that I thought might be of use to someone with more insight into OS X than myself. I’m a Kensington Mouse user of more than 15 years. Their Mouseworks software allows one to customize mouse clicks in any way they see fit. Yesterday I noticed that when I go into the Mouseworks preference panel and indicate that I’d like to define a specific command for this or that button, that once I click in the space that allows me to type this command, my simple click therein immediately publishes anywhere from 1 to a half dozen characters, without my command. It’s almost as if somehow characters are being stored in my click. For example, I just clicked in this box and without me touching the keyboard, the letters Q and W suddenly appeared therein.
How does this relate to Spaces? A few hours ago when Spaces locked my keyboard, I went into Mouseworks and tried this again, and when I clicked in this box which displays any command accompanying my click, only the letter Q appeared on its own. I then canceled out of this box and pressed the letter Q on my keyboard, and Spaces unlocked! Suddenly my keyboard was free. A short time later Spaces locked on me again. Going back into Mouseworks, the input box displayed, “Q W Up Arrow” after I clicked therein. I exited out and pressed each of these keys and Spaces freed up again.
While I am a lifelong Mac user, I’m not an expert by any imagination, so I don’t know what any of this means, definitively. It appears to me, nonetheless, that for some reason, letters and commands, keyboard keys, are somehow lingering into my mouse clicks, and it appears as if Spaces is freezing my keyboard because it’s waiting for those buttons to be pressed.
Is this a keyboard error? A preferences error? An OS X error? I don’t know. But I thought that if I shared my findings here, someone might be able to look into solutions that I can’t conceive.

Okay everyone, let me add to my own post, another piece of insight in the last 24. First, let me post an image that might help define what I've described above:
According to the instruction I've given the Mouseworks software, this box should just be "command Q", a command I've assigned to that particular mouse button. But when I click my mouse in this box, rather than just placing the cursor there, the letter “Q” and the symbol “[“ are deposited, without my every touching the keyboard. I then use my keyboard to change Spaces, and my keyboard get locked out. But then I type in these two letters, the Spaces image disappears, and my keyboard is free.
If my findings in the last 24 are consistent, then here's what I've surmised: If the only button I press on my mouse is the left button, then the Spaces does not freeze on my screen and my keyboard does not lock me out. But if I hit any other button on my mouse, a button wherein I've told my software to press a keyboard combination, then Spaces does freeze, until I go back into Mouseworks, find out what key combination is lingering, and then type that combination.
One more thing. If I've gone into Mouseworks and discovered the key combination, and then typed that combination of letters, everything is back to normal. In fact, if I immediately go back to that Mouseworks screen and click my mouse therein, there are no longer any lingering letters. If at this point I unplug my mouse, I can uses Spaces and my Trackpad all I want, bouncing back and forth between any Space I wish by using the keyboard, and Spaces never hangs.
My conclusion: Is it possible that each of us suffering from Spaces causing our keyboards to freeze is using an external mouse? That seems totally plausible. Or is it possible this problem is caused by those of us who are using software to have key commands activated when we click a button? Doesn't Apple's own Magic Mouse software allow for such?
I can't imagine that finding this for myself is unique to me. I also can't imagine that everyone with this problem is using a Kensington mouse; that seems WAY too coincidental. But I can imagine there's a solution somewhere in this revelation. Is it the mouse software we need to delete? Is it a keyboard preference that's causing characters to linger in the clicking? Is this all some evil scheme of Steve Jobs to force all of us to use the Magic Mouse?
Look into this for yourself! Tell me what you guys find.

That is easy to test, remove the battery pack and plug in the iPhone solo and if you do not have the issue, then yes, it is the battery pack causing the issue.
Perhaps you will need to use the iPhone's AC charger to charge them together.

The above query will return only 4 records, but still the optimizer is using index .
Fyi, AA table is huge table with records in millions.

Plus the response time of this query is very fast. When i am forcing optimizer not to use Index, its taking more time.
How come Index range scan is performing better in this case as compared to FULL Scan?

It only returns 4 records, but how many does it have to scan through and eliminate to satisfy the MAX condition? ie) how many versions are there per key?
It's quite possible this would be a more efficient query for you (it will obviate the secondary index range scan the current query is utilizing).
