Is second RAM slot available on my Satellite L30-10x (PSL33E)?

I'm not quite sure if there is or not a free slot for RAM on my omputer which I can add to the current 1GB is it 2 512 MB or is it straight 1GB in one slot and there is a free slot.
Can someone help?
Thanks.

Your Satellite notebook can handle with 2 GB RAM max and two slots are available. On the bottom side in the middle is placed memory slot.
Remove it and see how many RAM slots are there.

  • Where do i find the second ram slot on a t43 thinkpad

i believe ram might be my issue causing my t43 to freeze moving the mouse pointer with the track pointer helps get things working i bought a new 1gb ram and installed it in the ram port since then i have been able to run sluggish applications more smoothly but after a while of using these applications up to an hour the t43 freezes using the track point put some life back in to the machine (enough to close the application) when i dont have anything running except the internet it runs fine i believe the t43 has some sort of second ram slot since in the system it now shows as 1.5gb of ram and not 1gb
should the t43 have a second ram slot how easy is it to get at i don't want to accidentally  break something

    Welcome to the forum!
The second RAM slot is under the keyboard. Check the HMM for removal instructions:

  • Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) Windows Vista does not see DVD-ram UJ-850s

    Hi
I have a Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) with windows Vista. Windows Vista doesn't recognize the DVD-ram any more. The BIOS recognize the DVD-ram. I did try to download the DVD-ram drivers but they are not on the side of Toshiba.
Who can help me to get the right driver or know more? From the problems with the Mat****a DVD-ram uj-850s ATA device and windows Vista.

    Hi
The CD/DVD drive does not need special drivers!!!
The Vista includes a Microsoft driver which works with all ODDs (CD/DVD drives)
Simply said, the Vista should recognize the drive without any problems.
Some questions; did you get any error messages? What is the device manager status? Do you see any yellow exclamation marks?
There is an old way to fix a similar drive issue. It worked under XP so try it on Vista OS.
Its necessary to update the registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    1. Click on the start menu.
    2. If this is a Vista machine in the search box type in regedit without the quotation marks.
    3. search the registry key mentioned above.
    4. In the right panel youll see something along the lines of UpperFilter and LowerFilter you want to click on each filter key and hit delete. Click yes when it asks to confirm if you wish to delete the key.
    5. Restart Windows.
    6. Let me know if this works.

  • Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) - BIOS downgrade succesfull

    Hi all,
first of all sorry for my english,
I'm the owner of Toshiba Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) bought in Italy. I was not stisfied of Bios update v3.10 and I've searched for older bios version but on european support server, all older bios (2.6 -3.0 etc) was disappeared.
Reading this thread http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=120416 I've read about using the US bios files for downgrading the bios like suggested from user Anhchuong.
A lot of us was sceptic about use US bios on EU laptop.
After a lot of time, and after knowing that US L35-S2366 (PSL33U) have exactly the same spec of mine (except mine have 1024b ram instead of 512), I've decided use v 3.0 bios version for upgrade my bios. ALL WORKED!!!
At this time I'm writing from my lappy and I can confirm that CPU temp is degree 6-7°.
    Hope this help someone else.

Thanks for your posting. It is very useful info.

  • Problems with Ethernet controller and PCI device driver on Satellite L30-10X

    Hellow!
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Russia.
Just few days ago I bought Satellite L30-10X with W Vista on board. My opinion, that this OS does't very good on this computer, so I install W XP.
I have some problems with drivers. At first, I dont know what model I have:PSL30 or PSL33? I download all drivers for both models. But, after installation, computer doen't find drivers for Ethernet controller and PCI device...

    Hi
Satellite L30-10X belongs to the PSL33E series. This number can be found on the label placed on the bottom of the unit!
You have to choose this number from the driver download form to get the compatible XP drivers.
I dont know why you are not able to install the LAN driver. Ive got the same notebook with Vista and Ive installed the XP and all drivers run fine.
I assume you have installed the drivers in wrong order. Please take the look in the Toshiba installation instruction txt file. In this order you have to install the driver! Its important.
I think you should install the XP again to ensure the clean registry and then download and install the compatible XP drivers like mentioned in the installation instruction file.
    Good luck

  • Need right Win7 display driver for Satellite L30-10X

    Hello,
I just reinstalled Windows 7 in my girlfriends Satellite L30-10x and I cant get the gpu to work, it seems like a driver problem, but even in device manager I cant even see the ati graphic card, all it says is standard VGA graphic card as if windows cant find it.
I know that Toshiba dont support windows 7 for this model, but before it was working perfect.
Please help me, I dont know what to do.
    Thanks in advance
    Miles

    Hi
The notebook is really old so I dont think you will find Win 7 drivers on the Toshiba driver page.
The GPU seems to be ATi Radeon Xpress 200 (RC410MD)
It seems the ATI does not provide the Win 7 drivers for this GPU. But I found a solution:
    1. open the control panel -> appearance and personalization -> display -> screen resolution
    2. click on the advanced settings tab -> adapter tab -> properties -> drivers tab
    3. click update driver -> search automatically
    4. Windows 7 will find and install a driver for your ATI mobility xpress 200
    5. restart computer when prompted

  • Second RAM slot bad?

Troubling issue with my 24" iMac (late 2008, 3GHz, nVidia 8800).
With both RAM slots loaded, it crashes randomly in the first 15 minutes after boot. Sometimes this is a freeze, others the black "You must restart your computer" message. Regardless, after shutting down, it won't reboot successfully until the RAM has been re-seated (it'll stall at the plain gray screen, before the spinner or the Apple logo show up). Once re-seated, sometimes 2-3 times, it'll decide to boot again, only to suffer the same fate.
Brought it down to the minimum configuration - only the first slot filled. Works fine, rock-solid, runs for weeks without issue. Swap that same stick to the second slot, and we're back to crashing and needing to re-seat the RAM to get it rebooted. I've tried both 1GB sticks that came with the iMac, as well as a couple of 2GB sticks from Crucial - the behavior is the same regardless of the stick(s) being used. (All sticks are known to be good).
I've currently got one of the 2GB sticks in, been running for about a month without issue, but I'd really like to get the machine up to 4GB, so it's about time to get this fixed.
Aside from the testing I've done above, is there anything else I should do prior to setting up a time to drop it off at the local Apple Store for warranty service (still under the 1-year warranty, haven't bought Applecare yet, but planning on it)? Any other tests I should run or documentation I can provide to save both my and the tech's time?

So, it's been a month. Figured I should post an update on how things turned out.
Repaired permissions, backed up to an external drive, booted from it to be sure, and repaired permissions again.
Shut down, removed the backup drive, and decided to give it one more try before calling up the store. Performed the same procedure I've done so many times:
Unplugged the power cable. Let sit for 20 seconds (resets SMC).
Popped out the single 2GB stick from the left slot, seated it in the right slot. Seated the second 2GB stick in the left slot.
    Plugged the power cable in.
Booted. Reset PRAM. Came up OK, did not log in. Shut down.
Booted again. Reset PRAM again. Came up OK again. Logged in this time.
From this point on, everything has worked flawlessly, across multiple reboots, for a few weeks now. I've run several memory tests, each of which has passed with flying colors.
I'm not sure exactly what the difference is this time around, but I'm certainly not complaining.

  • Second RAM slot?

I've managed to upgrade my Powerbook from 512mb to 1.25gb of RAM, by replacing the 256mb RAM chip in the underside compartment that's held down by 4 screws. Where is the other 256mb RAM chip, and would I be able to replace that?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Your PB has a maximum RAM capacity of 1.25 GB. There is one user installable slot in which you can put up to a 1 GB module. As Slicecom has previously noted you have 256 MB Logic Board RAM.

  • Ram Slot 2 is inoperable

I am trying to find out if it is at all possible to replace just he DIMM slot on my mid 2009 MBP? Opposed to replacing the logic board.
My second ram slot does not work, i have tried any and all possible remedies to no avail.

in My case the solution is GETTING NEW RAM WITH 1.35V / 1.38V ( This is DDR3 8 GiB Released 2012 onward). My OLD RAM is 1.50V ... I don't know what is technical explanation, but this worked like a charm. My Beats 15 P017AU now detected 16 GiB and 16 GiB USABLE.

  • Display Driver Update for Satellite L30-105

Could anyone give me an idiots guide on how to update a display driver for my Satellite L30-105 ( PSL33E ) PLEASE?

LOL. You need a idiot guide?? Come on man ;)
    Ok, here is my guide;
Download the graphic driver for your notebook model.
    Unzip the package.
Then access the device manager, mark the graphic card, update driver.
Then a new window will open.
There you have to use the second Advanced option.
Then choose the option called Dont search. I will chose the driver (or something like that)
Then point to the place where the driver package has been stored on the HDD and finish the installation.

  • Where can I get WinXP SATA driver for Satellite L30?

I have a Satellite L30-10X with preinstalled Windows Vista and plan to downgrade OS to Windows XP Pro, but it needs special SATA driver at the early installation phase. Going to create an "unattended" Windows distributive using nLite, but cannot find such a driver at the download page.
    So please help...

I think the sata driver you need is "Silicon Image Sil 3112". You can find it with Google, and then integrate into WinXP with nLite.

  • 15-F018ca upgrade/ram slots

I want to upgrade the ram. I've tried to replace the only user accessible ram module under the laptop by a same spec 8gb module (but from Crucial) and it refuse to boot. Tried with a few other DDR3 and DDR3L (4gb and 2gb) but the only one that work and boot the laptop is the original one (samsung 4gb-pc3-12800).
Two questions: In the user manual and on vendor website they all list as two user accessible ram slot. In the bios/boot/utility tool it mentionned that slot/2 is empty. So where is it ? (have to disassemble the laptop to access it?)
And what memory is known to be a good compatibility for this serie of laptop ? (if a second slot is available 4gb+4gb configuration will suffice but if not what 8gb module is compatible?)
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
The manula clearly says on page #1:
Two SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (Core i3 processors)
DDR3L-1600-MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 dual channel support)
One SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slot (Pentium, Celeron processors)
DDR3L-1333-MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1333)
DDR3L-1066-MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1066)
Supports up to 4 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600MHz module)
Supports the following system RAM configurations:
    ● 4096 MB (4096 MB×1 or 2048 MB×2)
    ● 2048 MB (2048 MB×1)
Your machine uses "2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2840 Processor with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.58GHz" that means only one slot and already max 4Gb that whay it says non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory

  • RAM slot failure on a Equium P300-16T

Hi, Ive got a RAM slot failure on a Equium p300-16T. I have tested both RAM modules and there in perfect working order. RAM slot 1 works and laptop boots successfully but as soon as RAM module inputed into RAM slot 2 no boot.
My frustration comes from when i began a warranty repair on Friday night through the website and it refused to accept it stating that the server had timed out. Unfortunately this timing out seem to happen every time i went to finish the warranty claim. And to my dismay my Serial number is no longer available on the website due to the warranty running out today (2nd of August).
Is there anything i can do?
    Kind Regards
    Ian Watt

What size RAM are you installing?
The system is capable of 2GB Max in total, so if you are installing RAM above 2GB, booting will/may fail.
You may be able to install a 2GB Module in Slot A, but it will probably be unstable and cause intermittent BSOD's. Or not boot at all. (not recommended)
I believe your laptop has the Santa Rosa chipset, which requires RAM in at least Slot A.
If you install RAM in Slot B only, it wont boot.
So basically to get the most out of the system, you should have a 1GB Module in each slot, which is how it comes from the factory if the specs found in google are correct.

  • MacBook Pro mid 2012 15" - one RAM slot gone bad

    Hi,
Has anyone ever had the issue with not working RAM slot? My MacBook Pro mid 2012 (non-retina) suddenly froze and after restart was beeping three times every few seconds. I found out that the beeping signals bad RAM. Bought new chips, and the problem still exists. My mac can now run on one slot with 4GB RAM.
I did check the placement of the chips in the slots, i also checked one slot at a time, and one of them has gone broken.
Any ideas on how to make it run again? or if it is possible to replace the slots?

The Apple-accepted cure for a dead RAM slot is a new logic board. Unless you ahve AppleCare, that will be an expensive fix.
An Apple service option is the "depot repair." Instead of working on your computer in the Apple Store, they send it to a centralized refurbishment facility where they fix anything they find wrong (except for cosmetic damage and damage from abuse like dropping) for a flat fee of a little over US$300. That is between 30 and 40 percent of the parts and labor charges if Apple installs a new board in an Apple Store. Sometimes they will install an new battery at the depot without increasing the flat fee.
The downside is that it takes about a week; for that level of cost savings, I could do without my computer for a week.
So take it to Apple and ask about a depot repair.
A low-tech and low-cost option is to expand on what you are doing now--using one slot. Although the official RAM limit on your model is 8GB RAM (two 4GB models), your model can actually handle a total of 16GB (two 8GB modules. You can ignore the dead slot and put an 8GB module in the good slot. My 2012 MBP has 8GB RAM and is completely happy running Mavericks.
Be sure to ONLY get the RAM from an Mac-savvy vendor. For over a decade I've bought all our Mac RAM from one supplier. This is their page for an 8GB module for your MBP model:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/1600DDR3S8GB/
I would also trust Crucial on this one. For a change they recognize that your model can use more RAM than stated in Apple's outdated specs:

i have hp dv62127 laptop and I want to partition C disk drive into 2 more disk drives but this laptop contain 4 primary partition and due to  it shows an message no free MBR slots available so how it can be fixed so that i could make 3 partion?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

You can resize (shrink) the C: Partition and make logical drives within it. You cannot make more Primary drives. There is a limit of four primary drives in a Windows operating system. The new logical drives will not be bootable.
    Be advised:
When you change the original partition scheme you will lose the ability to access the Recovery manager with the F11 keystroke to recover your operating system.
A better option is to purchase a second hard disk. Back up the data on your original hard drive so you can put it on the new one.  Remove the original hard drive and perform a system recovery using the recovery media to the new hard disk. With the original hard disk put aside in a safe place you can always recover your notebook by removing the new hard drive and putting the old one back in its place. The F11 method of invoking the Recovery manager will be available on the new hard drive. The original hard disk in your notebook is a SATA 2.5" notebook that is 9.5mm in height. If you consider a disk larger than 500GB pay close attention to the height. A 12.5mm might not fit in the drive bay.
Identify your notebook with the p/n (Product name) shown on the sticker on the bottom of the notebook  The following image is a sample service tag.You posted an incomplete and improperly formatted model number. There are two letters missing that
should be on the end of what you posted.
