  • The iPod won't work unless it's plugged into the AC Adaptor...

It only works when plugged into the AC Adaptor. Otherwise it is unresponsive. The hold button is definitely not on. When I plug it into the AC adaptor, a number of things happen:
    1. The battery does'nt show the charging animation. It only stays full.
    2. When I plug it into the AC adaptor, the apple logo pops up and the ipod seems to be reloading info for a sec...then it goes right into the menus.
When I do have it plugged in, it works fine. All songs play clean without any skipping...even when in shuffle and repeat mode the song progression is clean.
By the way, I have a 20 Gig monochrome 4th Gen iPod. This is my 3rd replacement iPod, as the support at the apple store in SOHO, NYC simply give me replacement ones. I'm not sure if they are refurbished or not. It has'nt given me any problems thus far and I have 688 songs on it plus other files in disk mode.

Yes I know it's booting up, the problem is it won't boot up unless it is plugged into the AC adaptor...
It's not asleep...otherwise it would turn on without being plugged in to the AC adaptor. It can also be reset which would yield the same booting up screen process, but again regardless of how many resets I do, it won't work unless plugged into the AC adaptor.
This is a new replacement and it was fully charged yesterday when it decided to stop working.

  • Problems with loading / saving settings of the lightening filter

I've problems with Photoshop CS2 / Windows 2000. If I open the dialog for the lightening filter, the list of the standard-settings is empty. And I can't also save any custom setting.
In the folder of the filter-settings and all standard-setting-files are available.
I tried to rename and reinstall the prefs-file and the whole program. But without success.
What's the reason? File system (NTFS)? User-rights in the file-settings? Registry-entries? Who knows a way to solve this problem?

  • Poor connection of the AC adaptor

I have just received my IdeaPad Yoga 13 - 59366357 today. Everything else is perfect except a poor connection of the AC adaptor: the power cord can not be fully connected to the AC adaptor no matter how hard I tried.

    hi onlywei,
If you have other Powercord that will fit exactly with the AC adapter or if you can isolate whats the cause maybe AC or Power cord.
You can call Technical Support for a part replacement, I'm sure they'll be able to replace parts that has issues.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

I am trying to make communication from USB Bluetooth adaptor on my laptop to other Bluetooth device on J2ME environment, but after I finished the java code, and there is a problem, the laptop cannot detect any Bluetooth device. I am not sure which part I should change.
    1) When I install the Bluetooth adaptor, I select com 4 as service port, but I did nothing with this in my Java code.
    2) My developing environment is: Eclipse 3.2, JDK 1.5, WTK 2.5, J2ME , and my main program is Midlet program.

    Starting device inquiry...
    no device found
and the big question is whether I plug the Bluetooth adaptor or not, the program always get the same result?!! And I never made any code to get the Device Bluetooth Address: 0000000DECAF, what is this address? I even did not plug the Bluetooth adaptor~~!!!

  • Has anyone noticed that the 35gbp iphone 5s case and the 25gbp 30pin to lightening adaptor aren't compatible?

    I mean really?
where has the attention to detail gone in this company?!?
how can you make 2 original apple products (extremely expensive) and not make them compatible?
The way the case is built dowsn't allow the lightning pin on the adaptor to go all the way in the iphone...
    all this for 60gbp

Then return it to an Apple Store and complain and if neccessary get your money back

  • I need to connect a computer monitor to my MacBook Pro but have found that when using the mini display port to VGA adaptor the screen display on my macbook is very small font. Please what do I do to correct this?

I need to connect a computer monitor to my mac book pro, using a mini display port to VGA adaptor. But have experienced a drastic reduction in font size on my
Mac screen even before I have managed to check the result on the monitor screen. Please how do I compensate for this and restore my mac screen appearance?

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....

  • Stereo docking station iPhone 5 using the 30pin adaptor not working

I have a upright stereo docking station that I used for my IPhone 4, so now I have a iPhone 5 I have brought the 30pin adaptor slot so I can still play my music but it didn't work. Does anyone else have this problem. It seems to connect and recognize the iPhone but does do anything else. Thxs

Hi, Yes im having the same issues with my Iphone 5. None of accessories will play music, only charge the phone. The adaptor says it will allow your old 30 pin accessories to play the new connectors but it wasnt untill i looked closely at the description "some accessories not supported" ..... some?? try alomost none!!, Im not against change as thats how things improve and get better but this move on apple's part is a stupid and very unloyal one to there customers. • What does the power adaptor look like?

Did Apple make any changes to the power adaptor? Is it thinner too? I am waiting a month or two for the 1.6 MBA regardless of changes.

The Mag-safe connector is physically the same. A MBP or MB adapter will physically and electronically work with the MBA. However, since the MBA's port is facing down, you will need to account for this when using an MBp or MB adapter, either by charging the MBA upside down or some other fashion.
the physical size of the MBA adapter looks smaller than the MB adapter, but this will still be unanswered until someone can compare them in person.
The power output for the different adapters are:
    MBA: 45 watt
    MB: 60 watt
    MBP: 85 watt
You can use an MB adapter to charge an MBP, but the battery will charge very slowly.
You can use the MBP adapter to charge a MB. It will not send the full 85 watts.
Apple can not warrant or guarantee no problems when using a different adapter than intended so do this at your own risk.

  • HT4101 When I connect my Nikon coolpix S9200 to the camera adaptor I get a message saying this device uses too much power, how can I overcome tis

When I connect my Nikon coolpix S9200 to the camera adaptor I get a message saying this device uses too much power, how can I overcome this?

You are probably seeing this message because the camera uses the same port to charge it. The iPad can not supply the power to charge devices from it's dock connector. Also if you use the SD card adapter you are not using up the camera's battery for transferring the photos.

  • HT4108 Does the lightening to HDMI allowing video mirroring of items in the iBook (i.e. pdf)?

+1. How is the video quality when connecting the mini to a 42" plasma via HDMI thru a receiver?+
No real way to answer that question because there is so much variability in TVs and how they respond to computer connections. Ditto with receivers. Have you ever tried hooking your iMac up to the TV through the receiver? Whatever results from that, expect the same from the mini.
+2. I've heard that there is a remote application for the ipod touch that would work well for using front row. Any recommendations as to these applications?+
I can't help with that question. Don't own a Touch personally.
+3. Are others using a bluetooth keyboard/mouse in the absence of a remote through the ipod touch? I'm wondering if surfing the internet is handy when connected through the tv (i.e. does it look okay).+
Again, too much variability among particular set ups to give an answer. The resolution of your plasma, how far you sit from it...so many things will affect whether it works for you as an internet appliance. But for me, I do occasionally use a BT keyboard and mouse and surf from the couch. I'm a little far away, about 7 feet, from my 40" 1080p LCD TV, so I usually drop the resloution setting down on the mini to 1366 x 768 and then it is comfortable to use. I leave it on 1080p for everything else. I have the aluminum Apple keyboard, which I like a lot, and a Kensignton Slim Blade Trackball Mouse, which I also like a lot because I can toggle it between mouse and trackball mode easily. Trackball mode is very useful because there isn't always a good surface to run a mouse when sitting on a couch.

  • Vesa Mount adaptor: Cannot disengage the latch on the aluminium stand

I am trying to remove the stand from my 24" intel imac to attach a vesa mount adaptor. I have the right adaptor with clear instruction book and the white plastic credit card size tool but I am damned if I can disengage the latch. I have spent a good 3 or 4 hours over the past few days but without success. I have followed the demonstration on youtube and tried to get details from any threads on the net but still cant get the "latch" to disengage ..... any ideas PLEASE !!

I've tried all of your good advice but to no avail. If I look really closely I can just make out a metal strip insode the mac about the same width as the stand ... sometimes the card slides underneath it and goes all the way in, sometimes it slides over the top and goes all the way in and sometimes it hits the metal strip and stops but doesn't do anything else .. even with sliding the card left to right or wiggling the stand, slowly or quickly ... there is no sound of any release ....
