Is there a consensus on a IE fix?
It appears to me that the problem with iWeb 08 and Internet Explorer is a fairly common problem; but, I haven't been able to find a solution that works. Has there been a consensus reached on the best method for solving the problem.
Obviously I wish I could wave a magic wand and have everyone switch browsers but this is not going to happen.
The websites that I have created in iWeb 08 seem to crash the computers of individuals using IE 6 and create scrolling and stuttering problems for individuals using IE 7. I have been able to recreate the stuttering and scrolling problems on my work computer using IE 7 and have heard about the crashing issue with users of IE 6.
I am looking for any solution that seems to allow IE users to read my pages. I am comfortable editing the HTML code using TextEdit, as this is how I added HTML back when I was using iWeb 06 and before I purchased iWeb Enhancer.

YES, Indeed, there is a HUGE bug in iWeb '08. Please Apple fix this! I helped a small company create a site recently and it is hanging IE 6 and IE 7 users. I filed a support case, but no one answered the request. Come on Apple, are you AWAKE?

Both of those pages seem to lock IE up. At first I though it was a QuickTime-related issue and downgraded quicktime, but that didn't help. I even tried making the site once again and that didn't help.

975X - Is There Any Consensus?
I'm a long-time MSI customer/buyer/builder, but frankly the volume of really bad reviews of the 975X Platinum V.2 on NewEgg alone, causes me to hesitate.
Then I come back to the very fine MSI User Forums and see that the 975X BIOS issue - alone - has generated, to date, 420 replies and nearly 16,000 Views. Couple this with the other, general concerns, e.g., boot troubles, RAID failures, sound issues, etc., posted elsewhere on the regular P4 Forum, and it's clear that MSI, always putting its latest "good stuff" out for sale, might really have gotten ahead of itself with the 975X Platinum V.2 . . . understandable I guess with Core 2s literally getting run over by the Quads before they were out 60 days.
I've used five MSI motherboards in my last five PC builds, even teaming the last one up with an MSI videocard. Sure, a few problems here and there, but nothing like what is being reported about the 975X Platinum V.2.
I was considering buying the 975X Platinum V.2 . . . until . . . I really sat down and read some buyer reviews, from actual BUYERS and Builders, and then read - for almost two hours - the comments on the MSI Forums.
A couple of sour gripes here and there, I could understand . . . but of the 78 total reviews posted on NewEgg alone, 30 of them are no better than AVERAGE, with 12 being POOR and VERY POOR. These reviews are clearly from many people who have used their own funds, and who WANT to think the BEST of what they've bought and used. Whew!
I even have a more fundamental question:
What the heck does "PowerUp Edition" mean? Are all V.2 975X Platinum Editions the "PowerUp Edition", or not? And did Tom's Hardware have a "special" V.2 975X Platinum "REALLY PowerUp Edition", or were they smoking something when they gave it the Editor's Choice Award"? And even MSI can't seem to decide whether to use the phrase or not when referring to the 975X Platinum V.2.
Lastly, and with respect for the many fine posters on these MSI Forums, what's the consensus? Is there one?
Is there even a limited consensus to go ahead and buy the 975X and fix the glaring problems with Live Update now, and later as more releases surely come from MSI?
Or is there a consensus to stay the heck away from the 975X Platinum V.2 until MSI releases the next, hopefully better, Version?
Or is the 975X so flawed that there is a consensus forming to avoid it altogether?
I would sincerely appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks.Well, apparently quite a few have made their way back to NewEgg . . . they are being sold as "OPEN BOX" for $112 with FREE shipping . . . I know, because I just bought TWO, plus one RETAIL at $170 to go with them.
Call me crazy, but this thread (and others like it) didn't scare me off.
Why buy returns? Oh partly for the savings (I'm retired) and partly for the challenge. If I can get them to run in a minimal way, maybe MSI will come along with fixes eventually . . . BIOS or otherwise for the DDR800 and other failings. I noticed today that MSI is beginning to add some explanatory comments about the 975X on their website pages.
One of the eBay Sellers posts the following caveat on his website, and it probably applies in some small measure to what is going on with the 975X:

These are for people way smarter than us (no need to confirm that either). I have two iPods under same account information and lost one but when I go to track it only the one that isnt lost shows up, is there somewhere I can go to fix this?

Probably dead if you have tried to charge it.
You should never try to charge or turn on a wet electronic device.
You should let it dry for a week or so, then try. -
Hello! I bought an iPod touch 3rd gen at a pawn shop and when i tried to set it up, it would not connect to my iTunes OR Wifi so that I could finish set up. Is there anything I can do to fix this before i take it back and get my money back?

you just have to close completely you Ipod (push 5-10 seconds on the button to open/close you ipod and slide the turn off) after open the ipod and it suppose to be correct I hope I answer to your question!

I have Thunderbird version 24.3.0 downloaded to my Windows 7 computer.
When I send an email in Thunderbird it looks fine and when the recipient receives it, it looks fine on the screen, but when she tries to print it, the font is unreadably small. This happens on every email I send her, but not other people's emails she receives. It has happened on some of the emails I receive back from her that contain the information I sent her.
Is there a setting I need to fix or something I can do on my end to address this so this doesn't happen. She is receiving email through AOL online. I believe she is viewing it through either IE or Chrome.I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird. -
When I create a text message from my contact on my iphone 5, the contacts mobile number appears and not there name. But when they respond to my text, is shows up as a new text message with there name. How do I fix this?
Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears. -
My 4th Gen iPod Nano isn't displaying a "Use iTunes to restore" message, but iTunes is displaying a restore message when I connect it. I have original music that I can't back up on my iPod. Is there any way that I can fix the iPod without restoring it?
It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other. -
I just upgraded to OS X Lion and now I can't open the application Adobe ImageReady CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
There is no fix. It simply means that the software is outdated. Adobe would need to release a newer non-PPC version that supports Lion. They may have done that already, I don't know.

My iPod Touch is stuck. I can't get it to power off. All that comes up on the screen is the Apple Logo. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
You may need to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appears. Or anther thing you can try is draining the battery until the battery is dead. That's what i tried and worked. You may need to do those things more than 2 times. OH anther thing is you can try connecting you ipod to your computer and see if it appears on itunes. If those don't work you can send it to apple. So that's what helped me I hope I answered your question.

Release notes for 2.16 states that there was a fix for alerts not being modal. We are using 3.0.6 and are experiencing the same issue; was there a regression to the modal fix. What version needs to be used to make sure that alert messages are modal?
