Is there a way to amplify a low DC signal in Labview?

I am looking for a way to amplify a signal of only a few millivolts and then read this amplified signal. Is there a way to do this in Labview, using a 6025E DAQ?

Hi,
The smallest signal your board can amplify is +-50mV. The board had an ADC with several gains (0.5, 1, 10, 100). With a gain of 100, the smallest signal it can resolve is +-50mV. To resolve an input less than this, you can use a signal conditioning module such as an SCXI-1100, which can input from +-2.5mV. You can find more information on our different SCXI modules and options at http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=3002〈=US
Hope this helps!

  • Is there any way I may set low resources priority for a specific job or even all SQL jobs?

Is there any way I may set low resources priority for a specific job or even all SQL jobs?
Our database is quite big and everything works OK and very fast, except SQL jobs which are used mainly for maintenance purposes.
I have one specific job which runs for 2 minutes and takes a lot of resources which may affect execution of other stored procedure which should be executed fast. The worst part is that this job has to be executed during the most active working hours. It does
not matter for me how long will it take to execute this job. I just do not want it to use so much resources.
Also I noticed when SQL backup job (takes about 4 minute) is scheduled it also takes a lot of resources and sometimes because of that I am receiving "login timeout" error on my web site.

depending on you sql server version and edition, you can use resource governor and limit the cpu and memory.
in most typical cases , you can use the session user name and times and classify the how much cpu and memory they can use. refer : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645892.aspx
but in your case, the problem seems to be with the maintenance jobs which could run as sql server service account.
also, if the backup are third party tool backup, you can specify the priority level and other options etc to make it less priority.
it is possible to do that even with native backups such as specifying the limiting buffercount, max transfer size, if the server is memory pressured. sometimes, stripping the backups to multiple sets across different devices, could help as well. even though
stripping the backups can introduce another complexity.
may be you need to rethink you back up\recovery strategy.
    Hope it Helps!!

  • Is there any Way to find Which case is Executing in LabVIEW VI programmatically and Display it..

Is there any Way to find Which case is Executing in LabVIEW VI programmatically and Display it..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I wrote this a few years ago: http://lavag.org/files/file/199-state-machine-follower/
This JKI RCF Plugin sets the Visible Frame property of a Case Structure while the owning VI is running. Use it to follow the execution through the cases in your string-based State Machine/Sequencer when Execution Highlighting isn't fast enough (and, it's never fast enough).
The use-case I wrote this to improve is setting a Breakpoint on the Error wire coming out of the main Case Structure and probing the Case Selector terminal so I can float-probe wires during execution. The problem with this is that I had to manually select the current frame every time. This is boring, so I developed this plugin to automatically set the Visible Frame to the case most recently executed.
You might be able to adapt it to your needs.  The basic idea is that a custom probe on the wire to the Case structure's selection terminal sends a notification to a VI that displays the appropriate case.
We might be able to help you develop something easier if you'll give us more information.  Is it OK if the code to display the case is in the same VI?

  • Is there any way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW 8.0 without buying the new vision software package?

Is there any way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW 8.0 without buying the new vision software package?  We upgraded to LabVIEW 8.0 to use a new NI Digital I/O device, but we do not have the budget to upgrade the camera driver for 8.0?  Is there any other way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW?
    Thanks,

I think this is possible if there is an SDK delivered with your camera or
you use the Windows 1394 video driver for handling this.

  • I am staying long term at a hotel. Is there a way I can boost the wifi signal?

I am staying long term at a hotel. Is there a way I can boost the wifi signal?

I think you may have better luck working with the hotel management and have them contact their wireless service provider to see if they can improve the signal in your room.
The only other option might be an external Wi-Fi antenna for your iPad ... but I'm not aware of anyone providing these at this point in time. Sorry!

  • How do I acquire waveforms in LabVIEW on multiple trigger conditions on a Tektronix TDS5000 scope? The signals are fast, so is there a way not to use a simple loop in LabVIEW?

The signals are fast, so is there a way to acquire them without losing information? Do I have to use a loop in LabVIEW that just acquires when the trigger conditions are met?

    Hi,
I would assume that the instrument has some sort of buffer that could store data while you are trying to download it. If this is not possible, you could use one of our DAQ cards to acquire data.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there any way to turn the low battery warnings off for my Mighty Mouse?

I noticed a pop-up warning on start-up when my battery life reached two bars for my new wireless Mighty Mouse. Also the battery sign kept on flashing in my menu bar.
I was wondering if there was a way of turning these warnings off, save uninstalling the Apple software, or should I just change batteries and not worry about getting as much use as I can out of my current pair.
I've also turned off "show bluetooth status in menu bar" in mouse preferences but it keeps on turning on at startup and it doesn't seem to get rid of the low battery indicator flashing on and off in the menu anyway.
(And would turning off system events as a login item disable the startup warning?).
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hello Paul:
My own experience is that when the warning pops up (regardless of the yellow bars), you need to change the batteries. In my case I use rechargeable 2500 mAh batteries and an Energizer recharger that charges AA and AAA batteries in 15 minutes.

  • Is there a way to interface HTML buttons and responses to Labview

    Hi all.
I am a long term Labview user, but this is an area I am relatively new to. Ultimately, I want to get an iPad to receive live streaming video from a Labview program running on a PC over wireless Ethernet. Buttons on the iPad should trigger events on the PC Labview and text data can be sent and received between the iPad to the PC. Data will only be stored on the PC. There will be no Labview controls or indicators on the iPad. The choices I see are:
    (1) Use remote desktop application and run the webserver on the PC (Risks relying on another vendor and is costly)
    (2) Just run the webserver on the PC with the webpages.
    (3) Run the HTML on the iPad and get it to talk to the PC remotely.
    (4) We are writing Objective C app on the iPad for message handling and video streaming. THis seems the hard way to go.
Incidentally, the Labview will talk to a USB camera and that video (in low res) needs to periodically find its way into the iPad with minimal latency (VLC has too much latency). So the streaming could either be concurrent where the Labview controls the USB camera and also redirects the video as needed to the iPad. Alternatively, the Labview could relinquish control of the USB camera, call a DLL for example for another app to take control of the video streaming until such time Labview tells the DLL to relinquish control of the USB camera, when Labview takes over once again.
Any suggestions or help will be much appreciated befor emy hair goes much greyer!
    regards,
    David

I'm not sure about the video side of things - how you'd embed a video stream into the web-page which is provided by the LabVIEW application? One method is to have LabVIEW generate an image file from the camera and then serve that from the application (perhaps using javascript to reload the image periodically?) but I'm not sure what kind of refresh rate you could get with that (0.5s?). The other option would be to use a third party application (or perhaps library?) that serves the video stream over an appropriate connection - you'd probably need to investigate what video streaming methods the iPad supports in the browser (i.e. I don't think you could use a flash video player)
As for the buttons - another option would be to use WebSockets - it allows you to run a two-way TCP-like connection to a web browser using javascript. I had a go at it using my Android Phone as a game controller (arrow key buttons on a web-page and a score display). You can bind events to the buttons (or html elements...) to send TCP data to a WebSockets server running in LabVIEW. Once you have the API, you use it in a very similar way to the TCP/IP palette in LabVIEW, but with one additional function when the connection is established to perform the handshaking.

  • Is there a way to print a Html-Report direktly in LabView?

    I created a Html-Report wich includes a jpg-Picture.
Actually there is no way, in the Report Generation, to Print a Html file. I Would be
glad if you have a solution (sub-vi?) to Print a Html file directly in Labview.
    Thanks
    PH!L

You can drive IE with Lv through ActiveX: When you have creating an IE
ActiveX reference with Lv, you will be able to open your file and then print
    them programmatically...

  • Is there a way to turn the pattern matching example in Labview to instead of loading a rectangle around what you want the template to be you can use an image display , I've be trying and can get no where with it

What I want to do is , have two images on image displays and the pass them through the same setup as the pattern matching example to get the number of matches , I have attached what I have done and also given the pattern matching example program as well.
Hope to get answers back soon,
                                     Thanks Alan

    Hi there!
The example used can be adapted for comparing two images, however the algorithm and coding for finding the differences is more specific to your actual problem. In terms of the loading and displaying of the images, this can be done in the same way.
Once you have some sort of algorithm, then you can automate the learning and matching by simply wiring them in order. (in the example, these are put in case structures as they are waiting on response from the front panel)
    I hope that this helps,

  • Is there a way to force 1.28 voltagae for the ram on the w520 i7 quad. 2760qm

Hi I have 1.35/1.50v sodimms. JEDEC lists it as 1.28v. It's currently running 1.5v. Is there a way to force the lower jedec voltage. The laptop is super cool and I can work on my lap comfortably except for the ram slots.

The website may alter its page display based on the browser ID that is transmitted to the site from your browser. Some browsers on the iPad like iCab allow you change the browser ID to something desktop-oriented. Safari does not provide this capability.

  • Is there a way to get a card with 5.1 drivers to work with labview 6.1?

I have a quatech card that is only supported with drivers for labview 5.x. I however, have 6.1 and cannot get the card to work.
Is there any way, other than finding an old copy of labview on e-bay, to get 6.1 to communicate with the 5.x drivers?
The company whose card it is has been rather unhelpful so far, so I was hoping someone here might have an idea.
    Thanks,
    Dave Neumann

What form do the drivers for this card take? If the code calls DLLs you should be able to rework them for V6.1. If they are code interface nodes, you might be hosed.
Another possibility is to check with the vendor and see if they make new up-to-date DLL-based drivers for the card. You might have to buy them, but they should allow you to get things talking.
Finally, ebay is worth a try. A couple weeks ago there was a guy selling a bunch of DAQ stuff and a copy of LV5 was included in the lot.

  • Is there a way i Can lower resolution settings to edit smoother?

I am sure this is a noob question, but I do not use After Effects a ton. Partly because editing is always such a drag. I am currently working off of a 2010 mac book pro until I invest in a quality editing machine.
I know editing and playback in true resolution in real time is ideal, but my laptop cannot handle that.
Is there any way I can make editing in after effects smoother. Even if the project looks low res and I can out put at apporpiate resolution later???
    Thank you.

That, and a whole lot more, is covered in the resources linked here: optimizing for performance: Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects

  • Is there a way to create an AUDIO alert when my MacBook Air (Mavericks) battery runs low (say 10%)?

Is there a way to create an AUDIO alert when my MacBook Air (Mavericks) battery runs low (say 10%)?  I often miss the visual power percentage in the top bar, so would like an audio alert as well.

    For global alerts, yes:
There is no need to do anything before the alert appears, and the MBA will not lose data should it go to sleep. If it goes to sleep at 0% you still have several hours to plug it in before it shuts down.
I wouldn't even bother displaying the percentage value.
