Is there still a spaces option in Mountain Lion?  I LOVED spaces in Lion, but it seems to be done now.

Sorry this new Apple Support Communitiy is a bit confusing for me.  I was actually trying to do a search for this question (I mean the window was in the top right of the page where "normal" searches take place.  But NO, what I typed was obviously not me wanting to search all the forums that may have the answer I need quickly, because now I have the 2 problems of 1: Still not knowing how to search for my question, and now 2) I am now stuck 90% through the posting a new question well I found myself in that I'm sure will be trolled and egged.

Your license for Mountain Lion (or any OS version purchased at the app store) is not transferable - you can use it on any Mac you own and control; however, someone else getting that machine means the recipient will need to purchase ML The SLA states that you must erase the drive and reinstall the original OS. You will need to call Apple for replacement install disks.
If you leave ML on the machine, the recipient will never be able to reinstall the OS since the new Apple ID and machine ID no longer match.

  • As of version 31, why is there still no Thunderbird option to insert current date and time in message that you are writing?

As of version 31, why is there still no Thunderbird option to QUICKLY insert current date and time in message that you are writing?
Literally have seen this very-much-needed -- and used -- option "promised" for three years now, and even if there's only one or two formats that could be used, at least the option is there.
It seems only way is to link a Macro and tool to Thunderbird and do it that way.

Where was it promised? A quick search of Bugzilla didn't find a functionality request bug report for it.
I assume you're aware that Mozilla stopped development about 2 years ago (just adds security/stability fixes and provides infrastructure) and all new features and bug fixes are now added by the community. They seem pretty tied up with bug fixes and reworking some hard to maintain components such as the MIME support.
Have you tried the Timestamp add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/timestamp/ ? The version at AMO doesn't support versions later than 2.0 so you'd need to do something like install the disable add-on compatibility checks add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/checkcompatibility/?src=ss, and ignore the warning message about Timestamp not being compatible. However, the author has a version at http://extensions.sanjer.nl/?page=tb_ts that supposedly supports up to Thunderbird 11.9.x so it should be "compatible by default as it supports version 5 or later and is not a binary add-on like Lightning or Enigmail.
"For Thunderbird use the context menu (right click popup) in the compose window, Ctrl+Shift+T or "Options | Insert timestamp" to inserts the date/time into a message"

  • HT1338 is it iweb still work with mac os mountain lion?

is it iweb still work with mac os mountain lion? i want to make new web page and using mountain lion is it work under i cloud?

You will need to find another hosting service. You can publish to another service in iWeb '09 and above by choosing the FTP option in the Publish pane; in earlier versions you will need to publish to a local folder and upload using an FTP program such as Cyberduck. More details here:

  • Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase harddisk and install Leopard Snow Leopard Mountain Lion. Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion

Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase the harddisk and install Leopard > Snow Leopard > Mountain Lion.
Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion?

I tried and failed for several hours to install Mountain Lion, and was repeatedly getting the "Recovery System" cannot be created error.  I tried all the tricks: resizing the drive partition, booting from an external boot drive, all to no avail.  After reading other users struggling with the same issue, I had determined it to be a boot camp drive error.  However, I didn't want to have to erase and begin anew when I came upon a possible solution.  I had long ago renamed my boot camp drive with a "." (".windows" for me) in order to avoid having the partition show up on my desktop.  So, I boot into windows and renamed the c: drive without the "." ("windows"), and reboot into os x.  The install then went off without a hitch.  I hope this will be helpful for others struggling with this issue that may have renamed their boot camp drives in a similar manner.

  • Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new sad and upgraded to Mountain Lion., but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this?  Graham

Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new ssd and upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this?  A backup run did not install either photos or songs. Graham

Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
Thank you for your help and replying to this.  Guess I made my own issue!

I purchased my Macbook Pro in November 2011 and just installed mountain lion but do not have the power nap option.. anyone know why?

It is for the MacBook with built in flash storage.

    4. Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update.

Has your problem been solved by the updates??
Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".
MacBook: 7.1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz
    Microsoft Office 2011:  version 14.2.3
    Mountain Lion: 10.8.2 (12C60)

  • Is there any problems with OS X Mountain Lion?

i am looking at updating my macbook pro to OS X Mountain Lion but i but dont want to lose Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 or Micrisidt Office 2011,
if anyone know if this will still run ok, would be very helpful, thanks

Those should work, but it is very important to check compatibility of all your other apps, even things like printer drivers, before upgrading. Incompatible third-party software is one of the top reasons for upgrade issues! The following site will help you:
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also, before even thinking about upgrading, be sure to make a full system backup with something like Time Machine, so that you have an easy fall-back in case something unexpected goes wrong. You should also repair your hard drive with Disk Utility before installing.
And don't do the upgrade when you won't have time to troubleshoot any issues that arise. You shouldn't have any issues, provided that everything is compatible, but you never know what might go wrong.

  • HT4906 I have just downloaded Mountain Lion but my iPhoto app cannot be launched as it says the original app cant be found. It takes me to where is says its located but its not there.  What to do?

I have just downloaded Mountain Lion but my iPhoto app cannot be launched as it says the original app cant be found. It takes me to where is says its located but its not there.  What to do?

    Reinstall it?
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
