Issue getting Edge Code Preview 3 to enable Remote Debugging
Hi all,
I am using the latest version of Chrome as my default browser. I opened up ECP3 and pointed to the project I wanted to use it for (WordPress site on WAMP server). I then clicked live preview and it opened the URL up properly in Chrome. Moments later, a notification in Edge Code Preview 3 pooped up saying I needed to re-launch Google Chrome with remote debugging enabled. So I clicked Relaunch. Minutes passed, and nothing happened. So I relaunched Chrome myself, clicked live preview again, and the same message comes up.
I have tried launched Chrome via Live Preview, I have restarted my computer, and closed all Pinned Tabs in Chrome. What is going on here?
Hmm, this seems like a smiliar issue to this - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1159001?tstart=0
Can you try forcing Chrome to run with remote debugging enabled? http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/run-chromium-with-flags - and see if Live Preview works? That's not a solution but will help in figuring out where the break is.
I'm also going to log an issue on this so we can start tracking it.

After installing Adobe Edge Code CC via Creative Cloud I have noticed I still have Adobe Edge Code Preview 3 on my machine.
There is no specific uninstaller in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
So how do I uninstall it?Hey Jarrid, you can just drag it to the trash to get rid of it. The preferences are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Edge Code/ so you can delete that folder as well to completely remove it.

We've released an updated preview of Edge Code that incorporates a number of new features as well as community contributions. It's available to download at https://creative.adobe.com/apps. Some of the highlights of this release include:
- Enhanced Live Preview Support: Auto-reload in the browser when saving HTML content, local server support for Live Preview, and a Live Highlight mode that will highlight matching HTML elements in the browser when in a CSS document.
- Overall UI: New status bar, resizeable JSLint panel, and saved window positions
- HTML Code Hinting: Get code hinting on HTML tags and attributes
- Files and Folder Enhancements: Added commands and features like rename, new folder, and show in tree. Reorder the working set with drag and drop.

Open a command prompt
cd to the download folder
Run this: msiexec /i "Adobe Edge Code Preview.msi" /L*V "install.log"
That should create an install.log file in the same folder. Please reply back here with the contents of that file.

Edge Code preview 3 : bug report
Sorry, it took me ages to be able to post something of that website (basically, if there's a forum where I can make bug reports for www.adobe.com website, let me know !)
So... this morning i downloaded and installed Edge Code preview 3, and : webfont pannel has gone ! Completely. I tried to run Edge Code preview 2 : webfont panel works perfectly.
I'm pretty happy not be eligible for the upgrade of Dreamweaver CS6 (12.2) made available this morning too : if it's as bugged as is ECP3...
Sincerely yours, not happy at all customer, expert, trainer : Luffy.In preview 3, the web font hints don't pop up nearly as agressively as they used to. If you type the first char of any font name, they should appear. Or you can invoke the hints popup explicitly by pressing Ctrl+Space.
We may change the behavior back to how preview 2 worked in the future. Our main concern is to make the hints for CSS property names not overly agressive, since it's harder to predict where you're going to start typing one. But typing CSS property values is a little more predictable, so we might be willing to pop those hints up more often (as in preview 2). Downloaded Edge Code (Preview)
I downloaded Edge Code (Preview) and I still have the old application icon in my applications folder. What am I doing wrong? Or where do I find the updated version?
Do you mean you're now seeing two icons in Applications? If you're only seeing one icon, it is probably the icon for the newest version (it should replace the previous version in place). Is there something that makes you think it's still the old version?
Btw, I assume you're using the Creative Cloud desktop application to download Edge Code -- is that correct? What OS are you on?

Might as well ask this question here since the Edge Code forum has evidently been taken down.
Since as far as I'm aware, no updates to Edge Code Preview have been made available since at least early December or possibly even as early as August 2013, when we were pretty much "promised" fortnightly updates, I have to ask, have Adobe given up on the product? I have been waiting for a properly functioning Live Development Preview since switching to Edge Code, also Sass functionality, none of which have happened.

How to enable remote debugging for a session other than the current one
Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to enable remote debugging for a session other than the one I am currently using.
More specifically, we have an application that is making database calls to Oracle 11gR2. Something is causing an exception during this invocation. My system is currently not set up to recompile said application, so I can't just add the debug call to the code and recompile. Therefore I would like to be able to log into the database (as sys, if necessary) and invoke dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp on the desired session.
The docs indicate that I should be able to do so:

I've tried granting the 'BECOME USER' privilege for the relevant users, but that didn't help. I read something about having to set some kind of ACL as of 11gR1, but the reference documentation was very confusing.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Is this even possible, or did I misread the documentation?Interesting deduction, that would be very useful indeed. I hate recompiling just to add the debug call, and it can't be done in our production environment. But it seems unlikely to me it would be implemented this way.
I would cross-post this in the SQL AND PL/SQL forum though, as this is really a database issue, not with the SQL Developer tool. Do add the links to the other posts in each.

I did not make any console adjustments for debugging on my WebLogic 10.3.2.0 - however I am running in development mode on an "adminServer" (an option during the install)
In the console there is a debug setup page - that seems to have no effect for me (I can always debug) - so either it is a combination of development mode and/or the startWeblogic script from the Eclipse plugin.
However, these debug settings are likely for debugging into the server - you only want to debug your own app code right?
On the console page goto

Enable remote debugging in a running JVM
Is it possible to debug an application, which is already running in the server without restarting. If so how? if not what is the reason?
steps:
1. run the application in the server with out adding the debugging arguments.
2. once server is up, debug the application.
Thanks!!yes, i believe it is possible. it's kind of obscure information, but it is basically similar to the ability of jvisualvm to dynamically attach to running java processes (in later versions of the jdk). this is enabled via some platform specific means of communication which dynamically starts the remote jmx agent within the running jvm (the last bit being the part that is relevant to your question). i don't know off-hand what incantations are necessary, but google should be able to find something about dynamically starting agents in running java vms.

I have researched Internet - ADOBE and others - to find a solution, but no luck! (see under)
The problem started around one year ago but I was able to open Bridge and go to Photoshop from there until recently.
Now I get "Error Code 16" in Bridge too when I am trying to go to Photoshop.
I have tried everything I could think of (including creating a new Administrator-user) with help from my Internet research and my own pretty good experience (I started working with computer systems as a Systems Analysts 1968...... - now it is only PCs)
I miss my Photoshop and Bridge a lot - it is very frustrating to have this problem, but I can see I am not the only one!!!

.SDA file consists of .rar and inturnally consists of .jar file (JAva Application). I have manually build .rar from NWDS JAva Application generated .jar file, and also manually generated .sda file. These file generations are 100% successful and deployed 100% Successful.
Now I want to debug java code enabling remote debug, however, after I attached to remote server, it is not kicking java code even I put any breakpoints.
Server environment is on SAP PI 7.0 PCK Environment.

The issue is given below :-
I have configured my Eclipse to perform Remote Debugging. I have a Borland Enterprise Server running to which my Eclipse connects at a particular port and
allows me to debug i.e. Step Over, Step Through, Breakpoints etc.
Since the calls between the compents of the server and client are basically corba calls i am not able to see the values of the variables when i step through the
code in the eclipse.
How do i resolve this.

Is it possible to set up IFS to enable remote debugging?
I'd like to be able to attach JDeveloper debugger to the IFS JVM.

Have you checked the online help in Jdeveloper there is a lot of information on remote debugging.
If you use 1.1 you should check the following which I've copied from the online help:
Configuring Apache JServ for Remote Debugging Java Server Pages
If you are using Apache Jserv, you can debug using either the Oracle Java Virtual Machine (JVM) debugging protocol or the Sun Java Platform Debugging Architecture (JPDA). When you start your remote debugging session, you will have to choose which method to use. Depending on which one you choose, your configuration options are a little different.
Using Oracle's JVM
To use Oracle's JVM debugging protocol, you'll need to change the JVM that Apache JServ uses, modify the parameters you send to the JVM, and modify the CLASSPATH for Apache JServ.
These changes must be made on the computer that is hosting Apache JServ. If you do not have permission to make these changes, talk with your administrator.
Changing the JVM
In the jserv.properties file, set the wrapper.bin parameter to the full path of the JDeveloper JVM (java.exe). For example,
wrapper.bin=C:\Program Files\jdeveloper\java1.2\bin\java.exe
Setting parameters
In jserv.properties, set the wrapper.bin parameter to
wrapper.bin.parameters=-XXdebugondemandquietport4000
The -XXdebug parameter options are the following:
ondemand
Start the java program right away and allow a debugger to connect any time. Without this option, the Java program stays halted until a debugger is connected.
port4000
Debugger must connect at the specified port. Without this option, the port is 4000.
quiet
Don't print connection messages. Without this option, connection messages are sent to standard error.
Changing the ApJServerAction entry
In jserv.conf comment out any existing ApJServAction .jsp entries by putting a # at the beginning of the line.]
#ApJServAction .jsp /servlets/org.gjt.jsp.JSPServlet
Add a new ApJServAction .jsp entry
ApJServAction .jsp /servlets/oracle.jsp.JspServlet
Adding servlet init parameters
In the servlet init parameters section of the zone.properties file, add the following lines.
servlet.oracle.jsp.JspServlet.initArgs=emit_debuginfo=true
servlet.oracle.jsp.JspServlet.initArgs=jspcompiler=oracle.jdeveloper.jsp.JspOjcCompiler
servlet.oracle.jsp.JspServlet.initArgs=classpath=C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper\java1.2\jre\lib\rt.jar
Setting the CLASSPATH
In jserv.properties, set wrapper.classpath to
wrapper.classpath=C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper\jswdk-1.0\lib\servlet.jar
Make sure that the location of ApacheJServ.jar is specified.
wrapper.classpath=C:\Program Files\Apache JServ\ApacheJServ.jar
Comment out the location of jsdk.jar.
#wrapper.classpath=C:\jsdk2.0\lib\jsdk.jar
Using JPDA

If you are running on Solaris, you may also need to include stdalloc=y as part of the -Xrunjdwp paramater, like the following:
wrapper.bin.parameters=-classic -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=4000,stdalloc=y -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE
Adding the JPDA library
In jserv.properties, set wrapper.path to include the location of jdwp.dll. This file is is part of the Java Platform Debugging Architecture.
wrapper.path=D:\jpda\bin
If Apache JServ is running on Unix,
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /home/jpda/lib/sparc:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
setenv PATH /home/jpda/bin:$PATH
where home/jpda is the path to your JPDA installation. In addition, you will have to pass that environment variable through Apache to the JVM. To do that, in jserv.properties, add the following line:
wrapper.env.copy=LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Setting the CLASSPATH
In jserv.properties, set wrapper.classpath to
wrapper.classpath=C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper\jswdk-1.0\lib\servlet.jar
Make sure that the location of ApacheJServ.jar is specified.
wrapper.classpath=C:\Program Files\Apache JServ\ApacheJServ.jar
Comment out the location of jsdk.jar.
#wrapper.classpath=C:\jsdk2.0\lib\jsdk.jar

Remote debugging (jboss deployed) ejb using JDeveloper
Hi there
Does anyone know how to remote debug an ejb deployed in JBoss using JDeveloper (or perhaps know of a link?)? All I can find is this from Oracle:

But the cmd to replace in the $bin\run.bat file to enable remote debugging doesn't exist in my version of JBoss (jboss-4.0.1RC1).
Can anyone shed some light here?
