Issue in execution flow in a package

Hi All,
When there are more than 1 steps merging to one command in package, the execution path becomes totally unpredictable.
For example, take the path mentioned below, as i can't attach the image, i am mentioning the flow below:
Counter (Evaluate Variable) OK> FileName OK> LoadSalesFiles OK> Counter (Increment) OK> EndLoop
               KO> Counter(Increment) OK> EndLoop
Two commands, FileName and LoadSalesFiles merge into the command Counter(Increment).
Scenario 1 : The command 'Counter' gets executed based on these results (a) successful execution of command 'LoadSalesFiles' OR (b) Failure of command 'FileName'. All these are encapsulated in a package P1 and is executed. The result is highly unpredictable since sometimes the execution path is 'FileName' --> 'Counter' and sometimes 'LoadSalesFiles' --> Counter and sometimes even weird 'FileName' --> 'EndLoop'-->'Counter'. We executed the package several times and each time the execution path and the result was different which is not what we expect.
Scenario 2 : We removed the command link from 'FileName' to 'Counter'. With this the package ran fine giving the expected result.
The modified command is:
Counter (Evaluate Variable) OK> FileName OK> LoadSalesFiles OK> Counter (Increment) OK> EndLoop
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nithesh B

Can you upload the image to some free service like picasa ?
That would help us in understanding more quickly.

  • Issue with execution of report

    Hi,
    I have an issue when the report is running. It is taking long time to run.
    The scenario is that We used Plant in selection screen initially and there were no issues in execution of the report.
    As per the business process, the plant has to be replaced with another info object zobject_0plant. Zobject is a customized infoobject and 0plant is the navigational attribute of zobject.
    The report is running good without the selection of Zobject_0plant.
    When this zobject_0plant is selected in variable screen, the report is taking long time to execute.
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi... as per your issue
    First note:  Check the  master data  tds rates were maintained or not . and the new rates were updated in all the vendor master data or not
    In EWT a field called business place is playing major roll. Please check that all the transactions should have business place. if some transactions do not have business place than it will not consider for challan posting.
    1. Post invoice with TDS (importantly update the business place and section code)
    2. Run J1INCHLN for monthly remittance to Govt.
    3. Update J1INBANK for back challan updatation
    Note : checked the table with_item and the bseg,bkpf tables.basically the j1incert picks/parses data from the with_item table(the program fetches all the data from bkpf and checks with with_item table and does some filtering and its shown in the certificate print)
    4. Run J1INCERT to print the TDS Certificates
    Note: Finally just look into your J1INCERT entering parameters screen, the problem lies in the paramaters most probably in dates only assuming all the required configuration has been correctly done
    Also Please change the assigned form J_1IEWT_CERT to J_1IEWT_CERT_N
    I hope it will helps you...please confirm

  • Regarding Execution flow in webdynpro component

    Hi all,
              I am confused regarding the execution flow.
    we have "component controller" and "view controller" in a webdynpro component.
    I have written some code in "wdDoInit" of  "component controller" and in "wdDoInit" of "view controller" and in "wdDoModifyView" of  "view controller" .
    If I do "Deploy and Run " the application , Which one is executed first ,I mean how is the code processed ,where the control reaches first?
    Thanks in advance.

    In a web dynpro application there is always a interface view specified.
    This interface view is associated with a window. The window has set of views with one as default view.
    When Web Dynpro application is launched, the window is instantiated via interface view specified. The window after instantiation is rendered on the brower/some other UI client.
    The window when instantiated will instantiate the default view also. So wdDoInit of view controller will be called now. Now if navigation happens to some other view in the window that particular view has to be instantiated. So the wdDoInit of that view will be called then.
    Is your question answered ?

  • Process tasks execution flow

    Hi,
    * When a provisioning process starts, the first one is System Validation.
    * Next, all un-conditional tasks run.
    * Tasks can trigger additional tasks based on the mapping with the response code and these tasks run.
    I wanted to get clarified whether preceding and depedent tasks will tell us which tasks have to run prior to running the current or will they also add the list of tasks in the execution flow ??
    Thanks,
    Durgaprasad

    Hi,
    Yes, you can define the order of process task execution using preceding and dependent tasks. These tsk will be executed after the System Validation task is completed. And these task should be unconditional, preceding-dependent task tab does not work for conditional tasks.
    For example:
    You can have Create user task as a unconditional task and another Send mail notification to the user. Add this send mail notification task as a dependent task of the create user task. So when Create User task completed successfully , send mail notification task will be triggered. This is just for example, you can define task as per your requirement.

  • Execution flow doesn't wait for return values

    I have created JNI wrappers for existing dlls. However I'm getting weird behavior. My Java function calls a c function which communicates with an old mainframe. If I retrieve one row at a time its fine but if I do a loop the virtual machine crashes. Sometimes, if I add an empty loop for (30000 iterations) then its fine. Its like java is already trying to retrieve the next row while the first row is still being printed on my screen. I've tried adding synchronized in case the dlls where multi-threaded but it has not made a difference. Is there any way to control the execution flow so that it can't go to the next line until the values are truly returned from the c dll.
    thanks
    MA

    There are many function being called on the native side. Since I didn't want to modify the native side
    (because the old dlls are used by another application), I added my own dll as an intermediary between the old c dlls and the java side.
    To fix the problem I am having, I've heard of another project where the native side would write the returned values to a file and only once the file is written can the Java side continue. Is this the only way to control the execution flow?
    Right now I have about 5 empty loops which run to 100000 and things work most of the time. But I would prefer to find a way to say wait until the values are returned correctly.
    Essentially, what I'm doing is
    for (int i=1;i<10; i++){
       test.init(Integer.toString(i),Integer.toString(i),"english desc"+  Integer.toString(i),"french desc"+ Integer.toString(i));
       test.execute(test.ActionAdd);
    }This is supposed to add one row with four fields. I'm just putting junk for the test. If I call the two main lines
    test.init(Integer.toString(i),Integer.toString(i),"english desc"+  Integer.toString(i),"french desc"+ Integer.toString(i));
    test.execute(test.ActionAdd);just once it works fine but if I loop them then it crashes after a few loops. If I put a loop as shown below then it works fine. This is part of the code when I'm adding. Is it being looped 10 times from the code above.
    jsession.scanTable(table,errorlist);
                rtc = table.getRecordCount(errorlist);
                if (rtc > 0)
                publish(rtc+" records found.");
                    for(int i = 1; i <= rtc; ++i)
                        for (int j = 0; j < ElementName.size();j++)
                            publish((String)ElementName.get(j)+ ": " + table.getFieldByName((String)ElementName.get(j),i,errorlist));
                            for (int k = 0; k<100000;k++);
                else
                    publish("No records found.");
                }In the code, when the rows are added, I print them out just to make sure they were added correctly. This is where I got the idea that the Java code was not in synch with the native side because it would crash while writting out a line but it didn't happen every time at the same place.

  • "Possible precedence issue with control flow operator"

    Hi guys
    I have following Problem:
    Yesterday I made a distribution update from debian wheezy to debian jessie.
    Since then I got a problem with a plugin which I'm using for Icinga a monitoring system.
    When I run it, I got the error that there is an "Undefined subroutine".
    I read on google that I can fix it, with reinstalling the vsphere SDK, but the installation stuck at "CPAN is downloading and installing pre-requisite Perl module "SOAP::Lite"".
    I can skip this step with Ctrl+C and at the end it says "This installer has successfully installed...".
    But when I run the Plugin I get the error message "Possible precedence issue with control flow operator at /usr/share/perl/5.20/VMware/VICommon.pm line 2147." and the whole plugin stucks.
    I tried the following step which I found in this forum and the error message doesn't appear, but the plugin still stucks...
    Re: VMware-vSphere-Perl-SDK-5.5.0-1384587 broken with perl 5.20
    I have also Perl 5.20.2...
    Can you guys help me?
    Vinzenz

    Ok I could fix it...
    I changed the line 2147 to
    return (defined $user_agent->cookie_jar and
                      $user_agent->cookie_jar->as_string ne '');
    And this time I waited for a long time and I get a error message that there is a problem with SOAP.
    The solution was to downgrade Net-HTTP and libwww-perl with following commands:
    perl -MCPAN -e shell
    o conf urllist push http://backpan.perl.org
    install GAAS/Net-HTTP-6.03.tar.gz
    install GAAS/libwww-perl-6.03-tar.gz
    The second Command loads older releases to the urllist.
    Thx for your help and I hope I could help others with the same problem.

  • Performance issues executing process flows after upgrading db to 10G

    We have installed OWF 2.6.2, and initially our database was at 9.2. Last week we updated our database to 10g, and process flow executions are taking a lot longer, from 1 minute to 15 minutes.
    Any ideas anyone what could be the cause of this performance issue?
    Thanks,
    Yanet

    Hi,
    Oracle10g database behaves differently on the statistics of tables and indexes. So check these and check wether the mappings are updating these statistics at the right moments with respect to the ETL-proces and with the right interval.
    Also, check your generated sources on how statistics are gathered (dmbs_stats.gather....). Does the index that might play a vital role in Oracle9i get new statistics, or only the table? Or only the table where doubled in amount of rows by this mapping?
    You can always take matter into your own hands, by letting OWB NOT generate the source for gathering statistics, and call your own procedure in a post-mapping.

  • Issue regarding Thin Installer and driver packages

    Hello everybody,
    I have recently started to work for a new company and have been tasked with creating a new Windows deployment solution.
    My company are using Lenovo desktop and laptop and my installation image use Thin Installer to deploy drivers to our workstations during Windows deployment.
    I have been having some difficulties getting everything to work and I want to write about it here to hopefully help someone in the same situation as me and call out for better quality control at Lenovo.
    Here are the command line I call to start Thin Installer from the local computer:
    START /WAIT thininstaller.exe /CM -search A -action INSTALL -repository \\wds\lenovo -noicon -showprogress -IncludeRebootPackages 1,3,4  -noreboot
    Hers the issues I have expirienced:
    1. Sometimes packages downloaded with Update Retriever will be set to "Reboot type: Forces a reboot" as default. This causes the Thin Installer to reboot reguardless of the -noreboot switch.
    Its possible to change reboot type "Requires a reboot" in Update Retriever and than the updates installs fine.
    This causes problem with scripted installs where you cannot have the system reboot "out of order".
    Updates should never be default "forces a reboot".
    2. On my Thinkcenter e93z (10B8) the Intel Displaydriver (v 9.18.10.3220) wont install because the PnPID is not listed in the XML file. (my PnPID is VEN_8086&DEV_041E&SUBSYS_309C17AA (309D17AA is listed tho)). Manualy editing the XML files to include my PnPID solves the problem.
    Lenovo should really have better qualitycontrol here.
    3. On a t440s machine i have the Synaptics UltraNav Driver (v. 17.0.12.60) wont install automatically with Thin Installer.
    This is because the machine i installed failed the "BIOS test" in the XML file of the update package. I manually edited the XML file and replaced the "BIOS TEST" with one from another update that worked on that system and now everything installs automatically and works fine.
    Its possible that Lenovo has detected some kind of problem with my BIOS version and the Synaptics driver but everything seems to work fine for me.
    I hope this post will help someone in the future
    EDIT: Other people have called out some problems with the information provied in this post. You should read the whole thread before making any changes to your systems.
    Kind Regards,
    2bi

    2bi,
    Thanks for posting your findings.  I will investigate and escalate the missing PnP id issue for the Display Driver issue.  We absolutely need to avoid these kinds of escapes.
    For you ThinInstaller command line I would recommend not using the -showprogress parameter if you are using in a scripted deployment scenario with something like MDT and/or SCCM.  These solutions typically will not allow TI to interact with the desktop during deployment which is what -showprogress will cause.
    Also, you are telling TI to include packages that will automatically reboot your system (type 1), requires a reboot which can be delayed (type 3), will shutdown the machine automatically (type 4).  We have very few type 4 packages anymore; however we definitely have type 1 and type 3.  As sclexman mentioned, the -noreboot will only apply to the type 3 packages which leave the execution of the reboot up to TI.  So -noreboot tells TI that even if it installs updates of type 3, it should not reboot when finished.
    Changing the Reboot Type value in Update Retriever only changes how TI sees the package and does not alter how the package itself executes.  So if a package is designed to always automatically reboot, changing it to type 3 in UR will have no affect.  We have recently had a display driver released by Intel that will automatically reboot if the driver installer detects that it is upgrading an older version of the driver.  In a clean deployment scenario, the automatic reboot will not happen so in this case it is safe to change the type to type 3.
    This leads to another point.  All of our content that is available through Update Retriever is also intended for consumption by System Update which is the utility aimed at individual consumers to help them keep their drivers up to date.  Therefore this becomes our lowest common denominator that we have to support.  This leads to situations that may not be ideal for the deployment scenario.  If we had an army of resources we might be able to manage all of our content for both consumers and enterprise deployments; in effect doubling our efforts.  Unfortunately this is not the case and we are trying to do the best we can.
    Regarding the UltraNav update for T440s, I see that the XML has a _BIOS section under the Dependencies.  However it is defined such that any BIOS level will work because the first level listed is a wildcard asterisk (*).  This BIOS section is actually included for a completely different solution which also uses the XML.  It is not intended to control the targeting of the update for System Update or Thin Installer.  Perhaps there was a mistake made initially and the XML was released without the * and has since been fixed.

    Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully.
    Please Look into it.....

    Hello,
       It looks like you have an inconsistency on the OLAP level. Please try to reprocess Entity dimension choosing full process for your application. This should solve the issue.

  • APD timeout issue in execution

    Good afternoon,
    Please anybody knows about this issue? the problem description is the following:
    We have an APD in a Process Chain, this chain was running well in previous dates, but when we run it yesterday and a issue happened.
    The message that appears in common in the 3 APD's that failed when double-click is the following:
    And the process monitor shows the following log:
    As we can see the duration of the Job was 20.787 Seconds and that is not normal because when
    we run the query using RSRT or BEX the result of the query appears in 15
    seconds, so the problem is in Data Source of each APD because the time out
    problem is in execution of the Query that is the data source.  in the next 3 screens we can see it:
    When we check in the TX ST22 The list of Runtime Errors shows that is an TIME_OUT error:
    As we can see the APD is composed by the datasource in this case is a Query and there is
    an aggregation and then the data of the selected fields are written in a DSO.
    When right click and select the option "Display Data" in the APD the execution
    begins but never ends, there is the Time_Out Error.
    The properties of the Data Source in the APD about Extended Settings Tab is the following:
    When we check the TX SM50 In the following screen we can see that is a CL_SQL_RESULT_SET
    Thank you very much if anyone can help or advice to discover the cause of this problem
    and how to solve it.
    Kind regards,
    Luis Jorge

    Hi, I see you have an object aggregation. My recommendation is to redefine the query you delete this object and subtract rows to the query.
    I hope help. Regards.

  • How data flow when SSIS packages are run on a different server than the DB server

    The scenario is that i have a dedicated SQL SErver 2014 SSIS machine that executes the packages.
    The database server is a separate machine with SQL Server 2008R2.
    1) Running SSIS packages that transfer data within SQL Server 2008R2 (same machine)
    2) Running SSIS packages that transfer data between 2 separate SQL Server servers.
    How the data flow in these two cases and what resource is being used where? (cpu,disk,ram,network)
    Elias

    When you have a dedicated SSIS server, all data read flows to that server, is processed using the resources of that ETL server and then sent back over the network to the destination server.
    It doesn't matter if source and destination are the same server. If you use a data flow, all data flows over the network twice.
    The only exception is when you don't use a data flow, but only SQL statements. In that case, data flows only between source and destination.

  • Issue with Dataflow Task in SSIS Package

    Hello Everyone,
    I have recently created an SSIS package to Load data from Flat file to SQL Server Table, it was working fine. Now I have bought a new laptop and copied the projects into this new system and changed all the connection managers(Flat files) accordingly.
    Problem is, when I previously ran the package(With File1) in old laptop and check the distinct count on a table it was perfect, but when I ran the same package with same File on New Laptop, the Distinct count gives me an issue with particular record.
    Eg: Distinct Count with old laptop Run , 10,20,100
          Distinct Count with old New Run , 10,20,100  , 100
    There is a Space being generated for a particular record, when I run the package on new laptop with same File as old one.
    Any suggestions on this, I could not exactly figured out the Issue.
    Please Help.
    Thanks

    You need to tell the responders here how exactly to reproduce your issue and provide the file.
    I do not know how the "distinct count" works.
    Seems to me it appears to be a database issue not SSIS.

    When I perform the above query on old laptop, this gives me a result set of
    10
    20
    100
    When I perform the Same query on New laptop, this gives me a result set of
    10
    20
    100
    '100  ' (No Quotes please see the spaces generated)

    Hi,
    Make sure you have the JSTL tag library selected in you deployment plan. Go to Project Properties->Deployments->your_deployment_profile->WWB-INF/Lib Contributors and check JSTL.
    Let me know if this worked for you!
