Issue Logging Into Router - Resetting Not Helping

Hello, I recently tried logging into my Verizon Actiontec MI424WR router and used the standard username and password supplied by the Verizon website, admin and the serial number. That didn't work so I tried admin and password. Also didn't work. I tried varying alterations involving adding 1 to the end, lowercase and uppercase, etc till I got locked out. So I reset my router and tried again with the default password and username. Still couldn't log in. I tried again until once again I was logged out. I ended up resetting my router three times and each time nothing changed, I couldn't log in with the default password and username. Can anyone help me to understand what I'm doing wrong and how to log into my router?
I always used the username admin, some of the variations of password I've used include:
password
password1
password*
PASSWORD
My serial number in caps lock.
My serial number in lowercase
Thank you in advance anyone who can help me with this problem.

Hi, which exact router do you have?
The one with the red band and dual antenna's doesn't use those default passwords, they actually come shipped with a password and it's labeled as passord on the sticker.
the older units with a single antenna, use the Serial number of the router, found under the UPC bar code, and those are case sensitive.

  • Issue logging into the iPhone developer center

Here is what I have pieced together. First, I have opened up several tickets with support and I encourage all of you to open a ticket every time you get the error.
    • I am behind a corporate firewall & proxy configuration. I have IE 7 & FireFox 3 on both my desktop and laptop.
    • I have no issues logging into: MSDN, IBM, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, ebay, amazon, etc. the list goes on. This is literally the only place I am having issues
    • I can login to the iPhone dev center from a sprint wireless adapter on the laptop with no proxy or firewall (not a good thing for a corp laptop, but I did it to validate my hypothesis)
    • I cannot login consistently at home, where I have Vista, plus the standard arsenal of firewalls and routers with NAT.
    • A little research on the net revealed that there are many more, especially within corporate environments, that are having this issue.
    • It appears that there is a process that uses IP address verification (not confirmed, but that would not work well in a proxy/FW corp environement.)
    • Tech support provided me with the 1990’s standard fix approach to clear cookies and cache (huh???) if the iPhone dev center needs cookies and cache cleared (for real) then there is something very odd going on with the technology they are using. “1995 called and they want their standard browser fix back”
I am hoping that this can be resolved so that my developers can be productive at work rather than having to get to the dev center through creative and extraordinary means.

I think you should wait patiently for Orangekay to resolve this issue. Orange knows exactly what to do because he knows how important it is for big corporations to have the same access as kitchen table developers.
In the meanwhile please consider that Apple has given us the amazing gift of a World-wide distribution opportunity for independent developers, allowing some of us to actually own the apps we develop. Of course we can hardly wait for armies of cubical slaves to take this away from us. But why don't you take advantage of the opportunity yourself? Take off that silly badge and escape from the firewall once and for all. Unplug from the grid and join us.

iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

  • Cannot log into or reset WRT54G but everything else is fine?!?

I have a WRT54G v8 that works fine, routs the internet connection just fine to my System, my uncles System, and then also to a Vonage modem for phone service. But from my system I cannot log into 192.168.1.1. The page never comes up, it always times out. Same on the other system. Both are hard wired, no wireless. I really need to be able to access ports and forwarding and what not. BUT, I also cannot seem to reset the thing. I had DMZ enabled for the vonage, and if I'm not mistaken, that is NOT the default setting yet every time I hold reset for 30+ seconds, the DMZ light comes back on. Can anyone offer help on this? Thanks.

Turn off the modem while you're trying to access the router. And turn off any software firewalls or browser proxy settings.
The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

  • Issue logging into gamecentre

I have an IPhone 5s, just got it today so very much a novice at this. Have logged into Game Centre, yet my game (Hay Day, if it's relevant) doesn't recognise it as being logged in. GC shows Hay Day as being one of the games, and shows my achievments.
I want to 'friend' myself (another account) but it just freezes when I try to send an invite, and my other GC account doesn't recognise this new GC account ID.
    What am I doing wrong??!!

    Try these things.
Go to Settings > Game Center. Tap your Apple ID to sign out, then sign back in.  Restart your iPhone.
    Source: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4314
If you are having difficulty logging in to Game Center or staying connected
Verify that you are connected to the Internet.
If you are unable to create or sign in to your Game Center account from within a game, try creating or signing in to your account using the Game Center app.
Try signing out of your Game Center account, then sign back in. If you can't sign in to your Game Center account with an Apple ID, try resetting your password or using another email address. To manage your Apple ID account, go to My Apple ID.
When using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that your Wi-Fi router is configured for Game Center.
If you are having an issue with a particular Game Center game
Ensure that you have the latest version of the game. Check for updates by opening App Store and tapping or clicking Updates.
Test your connection using a different game. If you can't connect with a specific friend or player in multiple games, they may need to check their Wi-Fi connection and router settings.
On iOS, try opening the game from the Home screen, rather than from within Game Center.
If you are unable to create or sign in to your Game Center account from within a game, try creating or signing in to your account using the Game Center app.
If the issue persists, or certain features of a game aren't working as expected (leaderboards, achievements, and so on), use the App Store to report the problem to the developer.
Report an issue with a Game Center game
Tap or click the app support link, located on the right of the app's information page in the App Store, beside the app name and description.
Use the developer-provided support website and resources to investigate known app issues or report your app experience.

  • Can't log into router because of connect cloud

How do I get past this slow connect cloud b.s.?  Now it's stopping me from logging into my router all together.  I keep getting a message "we've encountered an unexpected error" blah blah blah.  I can't get past it.  I've already rebooted my router.

*Sigh*  I really don't want to be on the phone foreever just to end up with something like "you have to reset your router to factory settings".  I don't have time for that.  People in my office need me to change (verify) a password to the guest network.  It shouldn't be this difficult.
I was able to connect to the cloud thing yesterday.  Nothing changed since then.  Why can't I connect now?  I'm guessing it's a cloud website issue and it'll clear up soon.  I just want to go back to original firmware now.  This cloud thing doesn't give me anything new or better.....only slower and now, nothing at all.

NO, if the newest it should actually be admin and the serial number which is marked as the password on the back of the router.
The multiple characters that appear in the password file on login are a pathetic way to over the shoulder watchers to disguize the password length>
Try ignoring the dross and once you're logged on just set the Port forwarding rules.
If you've managed to lock yourself out of the router then just reset it to to factory defaults and start it again using the above.

  • I went to log into a Lotus Notes website and got this message: Warning: mssql_connect(): Unable to connect to server: rebel in /usr/home/comingsoon/lib/searchlibdac.php on line 23 Database failed to respond.

I'm using a Mac and have been able to access my Lotus Notes account email and database even though it says it's not supported. Today I received this warning message and I've never seen it before. Does anyone know what this means?

    -Reece,
We only have 1 single domain, 1 domain forest, no subdomains, only alias. I had replied to the other post as well. But I am happy to paste it here in case anyone want to read it.
So, after a few months of testing, capture and sending logs back and forth to Apple Engineers, we found out there is a setting in AD, under User Account that prevent us to log into AD from Mountain Lion. If you would go to your AD server, open up a user account properties, then go to Account tab, the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" option is checked. As soon as I uncheck that option, immediately I was able to log into AD on the Mac client. Apple engineers copied all my AD settings and setup a test environment on their end and match exact mine AD environment. They was able to reproduce this issue.
The bad part about this is... our environment required the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" is checked in AD, in order for our users to login into some of our Unix and Linux services. Which mean that it is impossible for us to remove that check mark because most, if not all of them some way or another require to login into applications that run on Unix and Linux. Apple is working to see if they can come up with a fix. Apparently, no one has report this issue except us. I believe most of you out there don't have that check mark checked in your environment... Anyone out there have any suggestion to by pass or have a work around for this?

  • TS1398 Wifi in off and on mode: I have a problem connecting to my home wifi. Everytime i need to touch the wifi setting. I need to switch off and on again and again. Restarting my router does not help

Sick of this wifi issue in my iPad mini.

If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • Can't log into router setup page

I updated my firmware today on a WRT54GL router. Upgrade was successful but when I clicked to continue I got a message that access was denied.  I have tried to log in with the address 192.168.1.1 and get the same message. Any help?

After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults (see note below), then setup the router again from scratch.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.  If you have not done this since the last firmware upgrade, please do it now and see if that corrects your problem.
If you still have trouble viewing your router setup pages, do the following:
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Check to see if your "modem-router" is using the same 192.168.1.x address space as your Linksys router. If it is, then report back with this problem, and also state the make and model of your modem-router.
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If you still have problems, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
Note:  To reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.

  • I am having issues logging into Adobe Muse

When I load the software I get a message that Further Account Information is needed and it leads me to a screen to log in using my Adobe ID which I enter in and then get a screen that states an Unexpected Error has Occured and to try again in a couple of minutes 1-200. No matter when I try to log in I get this issue, I am almost to the point to claim that if Adobe cannot help with this Muse is not even worth the $29.99 a month without a year contract and I have signed up for the year contract becasue if the software would allow me to log in it would be useful, though if you cannot login the software is worthless, and with this problem I don't think I would consider to try any of Adobe other offerings now that all their software is in this format. I have tried changing my password and I have tried to uninstall and reinstall with no luck. The following are screen shots that I get when trying to load Muse.

Hi -- my reply, I'm afraid, won't be very helpful. I am having the same problem and have had the problem several times in the past.  It's extremely annoying and a major disruption to my work.  I do wish someone at Abobe Muse would provide a solution (or better still prevent) to the problem.
Any help ? - -the screenshots above could have been take from my own screen earlier this pm.

Post-script:  deleting the OOBE file will work but it's hardly something that one should have to do on a frequent basis.  Really?

  • I added a persona, I've disabled and removed that persona, it keeps coming back. Going into tools does not help, adding a new persona does not help. I'm ready to give up on firefox!

I added a persona, wanted a new one so disabled and removed the old one. I added a new persona, but the old one keeps coming back. Going into tools/add ons does no good because it is not even listed anymore but keeps coming back. I've shut down/restarted, I've searched for answers to this problem.

The data that specifies which persona to display is stored as a pref in the prefs.js file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Did you try to rename or move the prefs.js file and a possible user.js file to see if that helps?
Are you using the Personas Plus extension, because in that case you need to check the settings in that extension.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • [?] Main Menu not showing after "Restore", resetting not helping

    Hi,
I recently received my 30GB iPod Video 5G (got it for myself for Christmas). I began charging it. Meanwhile, I uninstalled my old iTunes, and installed the iPod / iTunes / Quicktime software on the CD that came with the iPod. All fine.
I checked the iPod after four-five hours and it had finished charging. I restarted my computer, plugged it in, and iTunes wouldn't detect it. After some frolick, I went to the iPod Updater and clicked Restore. Bad idea!
Since then on, I haven't been able to access the main menu in any way. I've tried reinstalling the software a few times, and nothing helps. I've tried resetting the iPod, but I keep getting that little sign with the exclamation point. My iPod is fully charged.
I'd try the "5 Rs", but I can't reset my iPod, and I restoring it doesn't help, and I've reinstalled all I can.
I've a question - does restoring actually erase the little main menu? If so, where can I reinstall it? If not, what should I do?
    - by the way, throughout this little crisis, I got iTunes to start up at one point.
Don't think it's my USB port.
To recap, the problem is that I'm stuck, and I can't reach the main menu. I don't always see "Disk Mode", although I can get to it by holding the select button and the play/pause button at the same time.

look here for info on the exclamation point.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61003
Pressing the center buton and the menu button does a soft reset.
did you look hhere for general info
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/
Simply restoreing your ipod to factory settings resets your ipod to the way you recieved it when you unpacked it. It does not erase the main menu it simply erases all the music/photos/videos from your ipod if there was any.
sound like when you say that your ipod is stuck its frozen did you folow this
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705
since you are using windows 200 do you have meet the tech specs in regards to the service pack? Do you have a USB 2 or earlier?
