ISSUE:regarding production version tab of MRP4 of data transfer using BD10

Hi all,
This is regarding production version tab of MRP4 of data transfer using ALE idoc (BD10).
When i transfer the data using BD10 the production version is received at receiving end through segment
but not created in MRP4 view tab.An error is coming as-
"You wanted to maintain the master record of the material AB_06.04.09(2). However, it is already being processed by the user EBGABAP and is therefore locked."
I logged in as-EBGABAP
Please help me resolve the issue.

BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA can be used, populate the respective fields in input parameter PLANTDATA

Production version selection according to explosion date

Hello
In customizing for MRP (OPPQ), parameters for BOM explosion / routing selection is 3 (BOM explosion number/order start date).
In MRP4 view of material master, selection method for BOM explosion is 2 (Selection by production version).
No MRP group is assigned.
I have 3 production versions : one for 2014, one for 2015, one for 2016 :
I use a BOM explosion number with fixed key date 1st December 2015 :
When manually creating a planned order with dates in 2014 and explosion number EXP_1215 (fixed key date 1st December 2015), Production Version PV1 is selected (valid for 2014), but no routing is selected because explosion date is BOM explosion number, and in PV1 there is no valid routing in 2015 :
Is it possible to select production version according to explosion date, and not order dates ?

Alternatively, you can create your own logic using BAdI MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS.

Upgradation issue 4.6C to 4.7 for DP90-Data transfer module not allowed

Hi All.
We have a issue in upgradation project form 4.6C to 4.7.
Process we follow is Contract,Notification,Service order,Debit memo request.
While doing DP90 for service order we are facing a error as <b>Data transfer module is not allowed</b>
Afetr this system gives you only option to EXIT.
In the log display we get following message :
Data transfer module is not allowed
Message no. V1247
Diagnosis
A wrong data transfer module was entered in Customizing for copying control. When you enter a sales order with reference to a quotation, you cannot copy header data from an invoice, for example. The module number is 306.
System Response
Processing is terminated.
Procedure
Check the copying control for your transaction in Customizing or contact your system administrator.
Any idea how to deal with this

Hi Amrish,
There is a standard SAP program: SDTXT1AID. Start it, and the upper section you can find your incomplete parameters. Sign your relevant parameters (or all) and F8
(not test case).

Production version is not getting created using ALE-IDOC

Hi all,
Am using BD10 to transfer the material from sending to receving system.All the views are geting sent successfuly accept the production version tab data of MRP4 view.The segment is available in the standard IDOC.But prodction TAB is not getting created at receving system .Please help to resolve this issue.

BD10 Send Material..
the reason might be Production tab is not created is the segment is not a mandatory..
and the data is not populating for that fields.
if the segment is not madatorty and data is not available for the fields in the segment ..the prodction TAB will not be created ..

MRP Run with production version.

Hi Experts;
I am working as a member of a SAP implementation supporting team. The client wants to run MRP with alternative BOM, not with the 1st BOM. As a solution for the requirement i created production versions and assigned to MD61 schedule line tab. It is working properly.
But the user maintain some quantity as a safety stock for finished materials also. To cover the safety stock requirement, system create planned orders with the 1st BOM, not the production version.Already i have maintained the selection method "3" in material master.
Is it possible to cover safety stock with alternative BOM.

Hello Malka,
For your issue,,
As per other expert suggested you can block the first production version but if in future you want use first production then,,
In these case you maintain production version in many way
Ex.
1. Lot size .(if production version using for specific lot)
    Maintain the Lot for both production version, so Production version 1 lot completed system take       second production version.
2. Production version validity date (If production version using for specific period )
    In this case after completion of 1. Production version period system take second one
3. Manually selection of production version (If multiple production version and all have same condition)
    Whenever you convert the planned order to production order, one pop up come and ask for                manually selection for Production version, for this you go to OPL8 and select the Manually                production version
I hope this information cover your all requirement, No need to go with quota arrangement

Production Versions- storage location

Hi All
Material A0001 is an in-house product in my company, and the material [A0001] is also issued as a component for other Finshed Good [A000FG] inhouse product.
Actually the scenario is
User expects the A0001 material to automatically GR at in-transit storage location 000X.
When ever the material A0001 is issued as a component to A000FG. The material A0001 whould automatically issued as a pick items from Storage location 000Y or backflush as kanban items from Sloc 000Z.
Is options we can do the above setup through PRODUCTION VERSIONS.
If it is how can I proceed to set that, Please provide me a guidance.
or else please tell me other options to perform the above scenario.

and second scenario maintain production storage location 000Y for the the component of A0001 in the BOM of A000FG

Creating Production Order with wrong production version

Hello Expert,
please provide me answer and solution to resolve our problem regarding creation of production order (CO01 and CO41), because SAP provide and propose production version which have alternative BOM which is status 02 (inactive) already it is not picking the production version which has active alternative bom for our finished material. it is allowing the production to be created even the bom was inactive.
please help us to this it still bugging our system

Hi Ryan,
Production version will be selected based on the field Selection Method field in Material Matser MRP 4 view.
1 Selection by explosion date
2 Selection by production version
3 Selection only by production version
If the selected field value is 1 , then system selects the version based on the validity dates i.e whichever production version is active on that day that will be considered in MRP.
If the selected field value is 2 by production version. Then system will select the First Prodution version mentioned in the Material Master MRP 4 View (production version Tab).
If the selected field value is 3 always only by production version. Then system will select the First Prodution version mentioned in the Material Master MRP 4 View (production version Tab).
So to address you query I suggest you to delete the production version PV1 with BOM 01 and Make production version PV2 will be available and active in seen as the first production version in teh screen.
Then for your inof purpose you want have the PV1 then re-create it as second version in the Version tab screen.

Hi,
I have a BOM with 3 alternatives all with the same validity period.
The material master contains a production version which has been created for alternate 3.
When I create a production order shouldn't I get alternate 3 defaulting in????
I am currently getting alternate 1!!!!
My order type is set to 'Automatic Production Version' selection!!
Help!!!!

Dear Stuart,
Please check what value you have given in the Selection method under BOM
Explosion/Dependent Requirements in MRP4 view of the material master.
Please check whether value 3(Selection only Production version) is maintained.
You can also use option 2 - Selection by Production version.
Check with this & revert to forums.

Not valid Explosion Date for Production Version

Hi Experts,
I am creating a production order for a new item and I am getting the following error.
version: xx
is not valid on explosion date
no other versions are available
should the document link be transfered anyway?
What is the right approach to correct this?
if I choose yes, the production order does great created,
but is it going to be a valid order?

Hi,
I believe it should be a warning message, else system would not allow you to proceed, so do a re-check on that.
Coming to resolving the issue, this would occur when the valid-from date of the production version is later than the date on which bom & routing is exploded in the order. So before proceeding to make any changes, analyze the valid from dates of the BOM & Routing, now create the production version valid from that date.
This would at the very minimum ensure that the production version will be valid. If you still get a warning message, it implies that validty dates of the BOM & Routing needs a re-visit as well.
So go to MM02, MRP-4 / work scheduling view & modify the valid from dates of the production version. Once the same is done create a new order & system should read the production version.

Actually i had made Production Order Form in which i can populate all the Production order with respect to BOM (Bill of Material).
Now i want to Populate Specific Production Order Number another form which is "Issued for Prouction " Basically Now i want to developed another form which can be worked Like Issue from Production Screen.
For this i have to use Production Order Object in SAP based....
Could anybody have sample code for this .......that would be really helpful for me,
The Main Problem is that i do not know how it will start ? how can i get the Production Order as well as their Item List.....and how can i issued Production Order in Issue from Production Form.....
could you guide me that where should i have to start ........

Which SAP Product version to assign to a Logical Component in SMSY (SOLMAN)

Dear SAP Colleagues,
In our SAP environment, we do have 2 versions of ERP systems :
1. CON - SIF - CDP systems are 'SAP ERP Central Component 5.0' product version.
2. CDD - CDT - CDP systems are 'SAP ECC 6.0' product version.
Question :
When I want to assign these systems to a Z_LOGICAL_COMPONENTS, which product version do I have to choose ?
Example for CON - SIF - CDP systems :
1. They are 'SAP ERP Central Component 5.0' product version.
2. In SMSY in our SOLMAN system, logical component are created using
'SAP ECC 5.0' product version.
Example for CDD - CDT - CDP systems :
1. They are 'SAP ECC 6.0' product version.

Question :
What about 'SAP ERP 2004' and 'SAP ERP 6.0' product version ?

I have heard that 'SAP ECC x.x' product version should not used any longer ?

Production version selection based on Process order type

Hi,
I have the following requirement.
A material is having two production version one is for R&D and one is for regular production. Now two process order types one for R&D and one for regular production. Now during creation of process order if we use order type of R&D then it has to select production version of R&D and if we use order type of regular productionthen it has to select production version of regular production. This selection has to be happened automatically. How this can be configured.

Assuming the production version selection is automatic in the order type dependent parameters,then during order creation this
can be automated only through validity date of the production version or else by locking the production version manually which
should not get picked or else only through different Lot Size.
Check and revert.

Capaity levelling and production version

Dear SAPper,
I curious about somecases in levelling.
My client got 8 machine work center and they aware of capacity
I create eight produciton version.
MRP always put new planned order to first production order.
After that my client would like to do capacity levelling.
The problem is although they assign to other machine but the production version is not change
leaving inconsistency of production version and new work center after capacity levelling
is there any way we can capacity levelling considering produciton version too?

1.The system always picks up the first production version as a default,if more than one more production
version exists for the same lot size,validity dates.
2.Either you have to lock the production versions so that the system picks up the open production
version or maintain different validity dates or Lot size.
3.I'm not sure whether the system considers the prod version also during capacity leveling.

Best production version and master recipe?

Is there a way in SAP (ECC.5.0) to choose the best production version on its own besides the date?
Can MRP choose the best production version and master recipe on its own based on cost?
If so How? Config?

Hi,
    MRP selects production version based on   Lotsize,Validity date and status.In R/3 ,we dont have functionality like
   1. Simultaneous MRP and Capacity Planning
   2. Best Optimum route of production.
This is very much available in APO only. You can use either of Quota arrangement or Capacity evolution functionality to distribute planned qty into other resources based on past experience.
