Issue updateing firm ware on a 7942 phone

Hello All,
I am working for a company that is purchasing refurbished 7942 phones for their system Several of the phones have firmware that is two old and cannot be upgraded to the current ccm version. I am not allowed (company policy) to install an older version on CCM so I am using tftp on a cisco 881 router to do the upgade to the jumper version that will allow me to up grade on ccm.

The phone hangs at the last line then reboots to start the process again. I am also wondering why it is looking for
cmterm_7936.3-3-20-0.loads instead of the 7942 loads.
If I do a factory reset prior to the upgrade attempt I get the following event log. (phone is in the upgrade screen during this)

The phone then reboots hangs for several minutes than repeats with the same event logs. .
Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

Phone with factory reset - firmware 8-3-1-22 - I tried 3 phones. 2 with unknown firmware as the phone had already been factory reset and onwe with the firmware listed above. 1 had one of the unknown phones work the other two are giving me the events listed below and then reboots for the same process.

Once the phone has started the factory reset (upgrading process) is there a way that check the firmware. Also I am not sure if it matter. The phones were all set maunally to enable 802.1x. Do I need to disable that prior to starting the firmware upgrade. I found the phone that did work had that feature disabled after it came back up.

Firstly with that much data and many applications, do you backup phone data to memory card or do you use PC Suite as well?
PC Suite 6.83 rel_14.1 which is the latest does seem to have caused a number of connectivity problems for users, and in some respects 6.82 rel_22.0 seems more reliable.
My N70 uses 5.0638 and to date Vodaphone have not authorized release of 5.07, but if you have a stable phone working with your designated applications to your satisfaction I would not be in too much of a hurry to update!
The Nokia Software Updater is not infallible and it is a risk one takes albeit small when updating the phone yourself

Since the AEBS is connected to the TC via Ethernet, you should probably configure it as a "roaming network":

{The AE-Alpha} connects fine as WDS remote at the moment
I don't have any experience with mixed WDS and non-WDS networks, but since it's 802.11n-capable, you may be able to configure it to "extend" the network of the TC rather than as WDS. Look for a setting on the TC to "Allow this network to be extended".
Physical location:
AEBS in one end, TC and AE-Alpha in the middle while AE-Beta on the other end.
A device such as "AE-Beta" that's supposed to extend a network shouldn't be "at the end" but should be half way between the central base station and the clients that need an extended network.

Nokia 7710 Line1 and Line2 Problem in Firm ware

I have Nokia 7710, I had an option Line1 and Line2 on my desktop of Nokia 7710. But now it has disappeared, and now when I gave it to nokia care center for correction the ware not able to solve it. As the mobile is still under warranty period I would like you comments what can I do for it . The customer care say its not possible to get back the option.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? Why can't I access the updated that are pending on my phone? I've turned the phone off and also closed all the apps. But still won't allow me to access the updates. Just a blank screen.

Another post is reporting that applying the 6.1 update fixes their issue. I'll have to wait until I am back on WiFi to try that.

Hi Shijo,
Is this affecting only one 7942 IP phone or all of them? if this is affecting all then you may try ta firmware upgrade. If this is only affecting one of them then you can compare the settings of this phone with the working ones or try setting the phone to factory defaults.

Droid X2 2.3.4 OTA update does NOT install on my phone

Hello,
Today, when I checked for software updates in the settings page of my Motorola Droid X2, it said the 1.3.380.en.US is ready to be applied. I downloaded it and clicked on install once download finished.
The phone reboots, shows the logo and the progress bar for installing the update and then shows an exclamatory mark. The progress bar also stops. Then the stupid phone reboots and when I unlock it, it says the update has failed.
This is unacceptable from a smartphone and I am already **bleep**. Firstly, the phone has 10's of issues (music stutters, etc.) and many people complained about it. And Motorola releases this update that is supposed to fix those issues. And now, the update does NOT even install. Why? Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Or is anyone else facing this issue? Do I have a bad phone and should I replace it?

A very very frustrated Droid X2 owner.

I can't speak specifically to the DX2, as I have the original DX ... I assume you've tried a Battery Pull ?? Just power it down, remove the battery and leave it out for like 1 minute - reinsert & power up. See if it proceeds with the update ... if not, you'll likely have to do the factory Reset. If you have data on your SD Card that you want to preserve make sure you don't select "Format SD Card" -- or just remove it entirely before starting the F.R. process.
If you take it to Verizon or call them, they will likely walk you through, or do, the factory Reset anyway .. And since you seem to have "10's" of issues, this might be the best path for you to take anyway ... and in fact if it were ME, I would just bite the bullet, allow the Format of the SD Card, and be done with it .. Of course you'll have to re-download all of your FREE apps after doing so. And if you can't get the phone to boot up, that in itself can be a challenge because Market won't know about them after you do the F.R.
So if you decide to do that, I would go ONLINE to MARKET and write down a list of all your Free Apps before starting the process.

Ebay is not an official reseller. Return it if you can for a refund.
Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Geforce 6600 firm ware upgrade.

I have a pmg5 2.3ghz with a 6600 card. getting ready for leopard and some of what I have read stated that you should try to get the latest firm ware....how do I tell what firmware my card is currently using. and on the nvidia website they have no mac upgrades just linux...is that what I want....HELP

Hi. If the graphics card was supplied by Apple, then the appropriate driver updates have usually been included with the various OS X updates. Presumably this will continue with 10.5
The current card firmware version should be shown in Blue Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info > Hardware > Graphics/Displays (System Profiler) - possibly called 'ROM Revision'.

Still having super drain with new Micro firm-ware 1

Hi folks,
Had the .0 firmware and got into the habit of removing my headphones after use to avoid the draining problem. After reading the good reviews of . firmware, I downloaded it 2 days ago. Done a disk clean and loaded it on top of existing firm-ware. After leaving the headphones in all day yeserday, the battery went from fully charged to zero, and my second battery has went from fully charged to one bar overnight.
Currently charging both batteries again, but is there anything else I should be doing? Should I be carrying out a re-format with only . installed? (if so, I'll be grateful if you can advise on the best way of doing this.

I'd definitely try reinstalling, and if that doesn't work, then try reformatting and installing the newest firmware. If you're still experiencing major battery drain issues, I'd contact Creative support (call in for this particular problem... I got no help from the e-mail support). Mine would totally lose power in about 6-8 hours when it wasn't on. I ended up having it RMA'd, and got a replacement. (It only took a few days, too!).

Firm ware rebuild, notes lost, how can I find them?

Had to have Apple rebuild my Firm ware, then was told to sync the phone as new and not off previous backup. All settings are then of course lost, including notes. Can I get these important notes back without rebuilding from the previous backup?

If there was a bug in the actual OS then yes, it is possible that restoring from back up will put that corrupt file back on...but that is why the poster said after you get the notes you need, then restore again as a new iPhone...
When you're in iTunes on the info Tab you can choose to sync certain items with that computer so that you don't lose them again...things like email accounts, calendars, contacts, notes, bookmarks etc...
if you have these already set to sync in this tab then you should have them on your computer already and just need to sync them back... go back to that info tab and re check all the boxes of items you want synced

I am looking at quoting the SF302-08P for a client which will have three small offices interconnected via single mode fiber. I am planning on connecting them to a 3560 switch. Each office will have no more than 3 - 7942 phones. I reviewed the notes on this switch and it seems it should support this phone type without any issues. Could you advise if you have run into any support/reliability issues with this switch and the 7942s?

My concern is there are;
slight nuances or differences between the CLI configuration on the SG300 compared to the Catalyst range.
I am also very very slightly concerned about post sales support interaction between TAC and SBSC, but these days there is much more cross talking between these two support groups.
Different SFP SKU's for fiber connectivity GLC- series for catalyst and MGB series on 300, even though I have no issue with plugging the GLC SKU's into my 300 series product.
The SF302-8P has a POE budget defined as 62W across all 8 ports or 62watts / 8 ports= 7.75 approx watts that can be drawn from each port.
With the software upgrade to 1.1.1.8 the 300 series now also supports pre-standard POE as well as the 802.3af, power should not be a issue..
I guess the beauty of buying from a distributor, and keeping the packaging, is that your can validate your application.
