Issue with Condition step in workflow

Hi Guys,
I am using a condition step to check the value of a variable A. If the value of A is 7 , then the wf will follow the true branch. If not it will go down the false branch. This is as simple as that. But the wf was going down the wrong path when i tried to test it. Meaning even if the value of A is 7, it was going down the false branch.
So i simulated that condition in the editor and manually entered a value of 7 for A and still it is going down the false branch.
I havent seen this issue before. Have any of you? I ahve tried clearing buffer, creating new version of the wf. But nothing has worked. I even tried to reverse the condition check. Like i tried to give IF A not equal to 7. Still its going down the worng branch.
Any ideas? The variable if declared of the type SYST-PEXPI. And the funny part is this wf is working fine in production.
Harish

Hi Harish,
Sometimes it happens that the value of the variable is not yet populated when the workflow is at the COndition step. Hence it always follow the same path irrespective of the actual value that needs to come.
Please check if the container element you are checking is having the correct value when at the COndition step. Else you can try adding a wait for few seconds step before the condition step and then test.
I guess the performance of the Production system is better than the dev or quality system so you are not facing the issue there.

  • About case and switch in multiple condition step in workflow.

i ve some information about case and switch in multiple condition in workflow.
    case - static determination
    switch - runtime determination.
but i want brief explanation about case and switch and difference please help me.....

    hi velmurugan............
        in case,
we can have only one value for comparison and can have any number of branches for it.
       in switch,
we can compare any number of values and have any number of branches.
    eg:
consider i am triggering a workflow for purchase order change and i am having a multiple condition step.
if i am going for a case:
i can have only on value (ie po number/vendor number.....) as a parameter and can check different values with it. ( eg vendor number < 1000
vendor number > 1000.... so on)
a branch will be created for each condition.
if i am going for a switch:
i can take any parameter needed. (eg: vendor number > 1000
order type = 'NB' .... so on)
so a single branch can have any number of comparisons with the help of 'and' and 'or' operators and i can have any parameter for my condition.

  • Regarding failuare of conditions step in Workflow.

    Hi,
My workflow activity step calls webdynprofunction module. After screen is approved control goes back to workflow and condition statement immediatly below activity step get executed. However this condition always fails ie even after approving and getting approve value in container, reject branch of condition gets always executed. can anybody provide me solution?
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi Sanjay,
Many have come across this situation earlier and couldn't really find out why this happens.
I would suggest that you delete the condition step and recreate it. Also clear the buffer using SWU_OBUF and see if it helps.
This is what i did when i faced this issue and helped.
    All the best.

  • Issue with ESS Leave request workflow - Deleting a leave request

    Hi friends,
This is my scenario: An employee has created a leave request from ESS - Leave Request Workflow(Copy of  WS12300111) gets triggered and work item gets created in manager's UWL. After that the employee realizes he has created a wrong leave request so he deletes that leave request from ESS. In this case the workflow instance which got triggered when he created the leave request is under process and the work item stays in the Manager's UWL( there is no terminating event or wait for event step in the approval step of workflow WS12300111), when the Manger opens that work item it shows a blank column, ideally speaking when the leave request is deleted by the employee the work item in the manger's UWL should be logically deleted and the workflow should complete, but this part is not handled in the standard workflow WS12300111as well. How to handle this case. I can put a wait for event or a condition to complete a work item at the approval step but i would like to know how the standard ESS leave request framework works in this case. Please advice.

    Hi sapient
This is not handled in std. You have clear the next processor in your in method then only the work item will get vanished from the UWL.  For clearting the next processor either you can create a method in your BOR and get the request id. For the request id get the max version and clear the next processor or in the BADI you have wirte your own logic when the change happens what you have to do. This logic has to be written in you BADI.  I thing BADI will start with PT_ check with that name in se18
You cannot use wait for event or terminating event since its not R/3 workflow its ESS workflow you cannot use ternminating event or wait step.

  • Issue with condition editor in integration process

    Hi,
Now there is the chance to use this feature for the first time.
Seems to be very easy.... No, it isnt!
Variable  RETURN (type string) referencing to a field of a message structure is used for this condition:
    RETURN!="I001"
So, if the variable does not contain the string I001 the process should use the exception path.
    Ok, easy! This works!
But now I have this case to solve with the condition editor.
If the variable does not contain the string I001 OR E002 the process should use the exception path.
So my condition looks like this now:
    RETURN!="I001"|RETURN!="E001"
=> If return is NOT I001 OR Return is NOT E001....
Result: semantical check is OK but the process always chooses the exception path now.
    Oh, why this?
An alternative RETURN!=("I001"|"E001") does not pass the semantic check.
So I am missing ideas now how to write down the condition for my switch step
as this issue seems to be not discussed in any thread here.
Any help with this strange feature is really appreciated!
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,
=> If return is NOT I001 OR Return is NOT E001....
for me, your logic is wrong, what you need for your exception receiver is :
=> If return is NOT I001 AND Return is NOT E001....
    NON (a OR b) <=> (NON a) AND (NON b).
so for your receiver_ok, you have to use the opposite: so the solution providen by Ramesh, and so to ahve two receiver lines like that:
    (Result = "l001" OR Result ="E0011" )  ==> Receiver_ok
    <blank_condition (*)> ==> Receiver_Exception
(*) all condition which does not respect the 1st ones: Result = "l001" OR Result ="E0011".
    regards.

  • Issue with conditional breaks

    Hi Experts,
I am working on conditoinal breaks in adobe.
My requirement is: For a delivery item if i have 3 batched i have to print 3 forms with item data. Here the data of one batch can flow into multiple pages I had applied a conditional break on batch field at the item level of the table(designed with dragging the table into the layout.). this form contains Batch at header and footer. When the data fits in one page conditional breaks are working fine and i am getting 3 forms in the same spool as desired. But when there is more item data conditional breaks are not working properly.
Issue like item data over flow on the footer and batches are not showing up properly according to the page breaks.
    Please help on this issue.
    Thanks,

  • Issue with the steps in adding the ticket number in the ERMS email

    CRM 5.0  SP09
Read the CRM expert article written by John Burton to add a ticket automatically to an email reply and was able to get it to work. (had to apply note 954060 to get the variable in the mailform)
But in our normal processing steps the ticket number hadn't been created and was looking for a way to generate the number.
    Normal steps.
    1. Inbox - select Emails in process, select one and interact.
    2. Confirm BP or create a BP and confirm.
    3. Choose Email from nav bar and reply.  the ticket number is not filled i.e.
If I change the steps to
    1. Inbox - select Emails in process, select one and interact.
    2. Confirm BP or create a BP and confirm.
    3. Select interaction record and save (service ticket # shows)
    4. Choose Email from nav bar and reply.  and value fills in.
Is not a major issue, but users are always looking to reduce the number of clicks for the agents as they are being converted from using Outlook to ICWC for email repsonses.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,
I am not sure that I (or other readers) may fully undestand the issue, so I want to clarify a couple of points.
It is not quite clear to me whether the emails that you are processing in the Agent Inbox are replies from customers (which already contain an ERMS tracking thread) or whether they are new emails?
I will assume that they are new emails. Also, I understand (from previous message threads) that you are using the Service Ticket as your leading business transaction, rather than the Interaction Record? Is this the case? If so, it is important to point out in such threads since the default process used by most customers to create an interaction record as the leading object and then create a service ticket in cases wehre followup investigation is necessary.
In the normal proces flow, an interaction record is automatically created once a business partner is confirmed. So, in order to create a service ticket (and have the service ticket thread be automatically inserted into an email as a tracking thread) you first need to navigate to the Service Ticket screen (which results in the creation of a service ticket).
But I am assuming, as mentioned, that in your case you are using the Service Ticket as the leading object? Does anything show up in this "Interaction Record" view in the lower-right-hand corner of the email editor currently? If so, maybe the problem then is that you need to replace the Interaction Record view inside the Email Editor screen with the Service Ticket view instead? This could be causing the problem that the non-existant Interaction Record is being set as the current One Order object instead of the Service Ticket. This is really jus a guess on my part, but maybe worth checking.

    Thanks Asif!!
Steps mentioned in the meta link note were already taken care but the issue still exists.
Once we've added our custom page functions to the UMX_REG_UI_PERMS permission set in order to grant access to GUEST and GLOBAL users, the login issue was gone.
But when the go button in first page is clicked,it is again asking for credentials.
Do we need to do take care of any other setups/grants for this?
    Please suggest!!

  • Issue with the Travel Management Workflow

    Hi Experts,
I have developed a Custom Travel Managment Workflow which is triggered whenever a Trip is created in SAP. Now in the Workflow If I change the trip and Save the Trip again my Workflow is triggering because the CREATED event is triggering along with the CHANGE event (Verified through SWEL transaction) which doing SAVE operation. I am not sure why CREATED event is triggering instead I am expecting only CHANGE event should trigger.
Please help me how can I achieve the above request.
    Thanks in adavnce.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivas,
It is a standard behavior of Travel workflow. Even you change the travel request, the Created event will trigger.
But you can manage this using Fork step and Wait event. In the workflow create a forq atep and create a wait for event in one branch. In the wait for event, create a BUS2089 - Changed.
In the fork branch will be 2 and necessary branch should be 1. So if the change event occured the wait step will be triggered. In this branch you can implement your business logic.
    Thanks,
    Viji.

  • Issue with Receive step of BPM

    Hi all,
I have an BPM scenario in which I send a file to the target system and then receive an acknowledgement from the system. I have used correlation in the BPM for the send and the next receive step .
When a wrong acknowledgement is placed , the message goes to the queue with the error message "Active correlation Not Found".
But when an right acknowledgement is placed then also the message goes to the queue with the message "Error in delivery of message to receive step of BPM ".
The acknowledgement is received and then interface mapping is used which sends the Filename to the Integration Process which is used for the correlation.
    Please give your suggestions .
    Regards,
    Srivatsan M

When a wrong acknowledgement is placed , the message goes to the queue with the error
    message "Active correlation Not Found".
when there is wrong ack then there seems to be no value coming in the field which you have used for correlation....or it seems that the field itself is not coming in the wrong ack message
But when an right acknowledgement is placed then also the message goes to the queue with the
message "Error in delivery of message to receive step of BPM ".
Now in right correlation the value that is coming in the correlation field is not  matching with the field for correlation of the send step...
So the reason for both the errors is wrong correlation configuration.

  • Issue with N step BADi

    Hi,
    We are on SRM_SERVER 550.
We have implemented n step badi for approval of SC.
After SC is created, we see an error in the WF log in the step for task TS10008126. The error is shown in the step history and its "EVALUATE_AGENT_VIA_EXPRESSION      Result of agent resolution does not agree with agents of task"
When I try to see in OOCU as to what are the agent assignments for the task, it shows me an empty list in OOCU.
Is there some basis steps for WF missing?
    Regards,
    Srivatsan

    Hi Srivatsan,
Check the agent assignment of the task. Go to transaction PFTC, select Standard task as task type and give in the number of the task (10008126). Then press change. In the next screen go to Additional data in the menu and select Agent assignment -> Maintain. Then select Approval of shopping cart and click on the attributes button. In the pop-up select General task. And that is it. Depending on the system settings you can transport this or you will need to do it at every system / client.

  • Issue with Condition dependent PO output

    Hi,
We're implementing Extended classic version for SRM 5.0.
As part of the output determination, we need to determine 2 print outputs for Purchase orders. We have 2 purchase organizations and both of them need to have 2 different smartforms for the print. So, we're designing 2 different smartforms. In order to assign the smartforms as per the purchasing org, I've used "Condition dependent output" in IMG settings. But whenever I try to print, it picks up the standard form from the IMG node "Define actions for Document Output" where the standard form is maintained. We did not maintain the custom form in this node because we have 2 forms for print.
I would like the program to pick up the custom form maintained in " Condition dependent document output".
I understand that we could use the BADI alternatively. But any help in resolving this problem through the configuration is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Lakshmi

    Hi,
Pls implement the badi "BADI BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF".
    For sample code/pointers,see the foll links;

  • Issue with condition in Query

    Hi,
I have report on a cube which when  execute vit all main characteristics(highest level char[plant] to lowest level[material] chars) like plant, external-material grp, material type, project-plant and material the report vil come vit correct values , wen v remove the lowest level ie., material the overall result is changing.
There is a condition for Godown Quantity(godown qty notequalto  0)
Because of the condition on godown qty the overall result is changing.
    like:
    qty 61-120amt 61-120qty >120----amt >120
    10936.06-766957.91-1955762.54--725613332.2(overall-results)
when we drill down are remove drill down any characteristic then some value(6422) of amt61-120 days  is shifting to amt>120days,this happening  also for qty.
    like:
    10934.66760535.291955763.94---725619755(overall-results)
so i removed the condition and executed the report, here wat ever char v remove and wat ever char v drill down no effect to over all result means it vil remain unchange.
But asking for no zero values for Godown quantity.
    Help me in this....
    Thanks in Advance,
    Chaitu.

    Hello Lee,
    thanks for your reply.
But what is B?I think Lee meant to name the in-line view "B", like this:
    SELECT b.app_req_id
    FROM  (SELECT   a.app_req_id,
COUNT(*) cnt       -- or maybe COUNT (DISTINCT a.class_symbol)

GROUP BY a.app_req_id)  b     -- Alias added here
    WHERE  b.cnt = 5
;You don't really need either alias. In fact, you don't need the sub-query: the query below is equivalent to the one above:
    SELECT    app_req_id
    FROM      app_req
WHERE     class_symbol     IN ('MBA', 'BTECH', 'BBA', 'SENIOR SECONDARY', 'SECONDARY')
    GROUP BY  app_req_id
HAVING    COUNT (*)           -- or maybe COUNT (DISTINCT class_symbol)
                     = 5
;If the combination (app_req_id, class_symbol) is not unique, then use "COUNT (DISTINT class_symbol)" instead of "COUNT (*)".
There is only 1 table i am reffering to and need to get the ID where values matches in other column. Other column can have the values as that of MBA,BTECH,BBA,SENIOR SECONDARY and SECONDARY.
I don't want to use query as -
Select APP_REQ_ID FROM app_req where class_symbol in ('MBA', 'BTECH', 'BBA', 'SENIOR SECONDARY', 'SECONDARY')
As this will be with either of the match found. I want where all of the match found. That's what the condition "WHERE b.cnt = 5" in the main query is for.
    >
Kindly help.If the query above is not doing what you want, then post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements), and the results you want from that data. Point out where the query above is getting the wrong results, and explain, with spoecific examples, how to get the right results in those places.

  • Issue with conditional formatting in XML publisher report

    Hi All,
I am working on a XML report where in I am required to use conditional formatting to highlight changes, if there is change in any of the column value. The condition is required to be implemented on a text column as well as a number column. I have tried to use the conditional formatting available in the BI Publisher Release 10.1.3.2, wherein I have compared the two columns, and when they are not equal to, then formatting should change to red color; but the same is not working in the excel output.
    Can anybody help here?
    Thanks,
    Nitin

Cross conditional formatting ie formatting based on some other column is not supported in pivot view.
There are some workaround.See if that helps
