Issues opening 'device webpage'

Hello,
There is a very annoying problem with Windows 8 (and up), this issue did not exist with Windows 7 or earlier.
Basically if you go to "Network" in Windows Explorer you will (as expected) see all of your network devices - any device with a web interface should have a "View device webpage" option if you right-click it. This works fine as long as the
device is http, if you try to do it with an https device it will give you an error "Error 0x80004002: No such interface supported".
Same thing happens on all Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 machines (regardless of default browser) but it works perfectly fine on a Windows 7 machine... Anyone got any idea for a workaround? The device used I'm using is a Netgear ReadyNAS but it seems to happen
with any device that uses https for its admin webpage.
Really thankful for any help I can get on this!

Hi Hesten123,
Apologize for the late reply.
The below is the analyze result from Mike:
I just analyzed the netmon traces on fromproperties.cap and viewdevice.cap
From the GIF, I saw the client is able to open the admin page from properties and failed in click view device.

After comparing the packets, we can see after TCP three handshakes completes and certificate exchange finishes, the client did not send the client key exchange information to the NAS device when click on view device to open the
admin page. However, we can see this behavior when trying to open the page from properties.
From the GIF, we can see the client failed to download one file from NAS with third party explorer chrome, since the traffic is encrypted, we cannot see the actual information.
For we are not familiar with google products, could you please set the windows IE explore as default explorer and make sure the system will launch IE when click on view device.
We have to exclude the possibility that the issue is caused by chrome first.
Best regards

  • Safari loads 100% CPU while opening a webpage when working in cooperation with DeviceLock

I have Safari 5.0.5 and DeviceLock 7.1 installed on same computer running Windows XP x86.
When I confugure any network protocol settings in Devicelock (to make its network module active), Safari loads 100% CPU while opening any webpage, for example http://www.apple.com/startpage/
This issue doesn't occurs on other browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox, so I assume the issue belongs to Safari, not to DeviceLock.

It may not be DeviceLock, or Windows. I see (via Activity Monitor) Safari use 100% CPU while loading a new page on my G5 iMac. Then it drops back again. It may be something to do with Safari 5.0.5

To my knowledge the only thing that has changed since being able to run RMAN jobs with OSB and not being able to run them is that the permissions on /usr/tmp were changed from drwxr-xr-x, not drwxrwxrwx.

Keep getting error message, "An error has occured when opening this webpage so being reloaded". How to fix on iPad2. Software is up to date.

    Hello jodifromahwatukee,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
From what I understand, it sounds like Safari is not loading a single page or multiple webpages correctly and it is trying to reload the content. In this situation, there are a few different steps that I would recommend.
First, I would recommend clearing your history and website data as described in the attached article.
Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Nest, after the data has been cleared, I would recommend closing Safari completely as described in the next attached article.
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
After Safari has been closed, reset your iPhone. After the reset, open Safari fresh and use it as you normally would. If the issue continues, please let me know.
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • When I am opening some webpage that shows adope pulgin has crashed.

Some times when I open a webpage which required adope flash player for showing images or video. Some time there is a message showing that adope pulgin has crashed and reload the page after reloading same message is showing. why is this happening???

    Hey Matthodge001,
Thanks for your reply. But I don't think it is RAM-related issue. Because I have 4 GB Ram and Firefox.exe shows 312832K.

  • SAFARI DOES NOT OPEN CERTAIN WEBPAGES, INSTEAD DOWNLOADS ASPX EXTENSIONFILE

Safari doesnot open certain webpages, instead it downloads a file with .ASPX extension.
I opened the Mac in safeboot and run Disk Utility and repaired Disk permissions under it. In safe boot, safari (or other) browser opens all the webpages very well, but when I open the system in normal mode, again .aspx issue appears.
I am getting so upset with the system. Can you please help me?
    Thank you in advance

We had this problem on a few websites over here and in our case the administrators of the pages had to make some changes to the pages to make them Safari compatible.
A workaround we used in the meantime was to set Acrobat to open aspx files using the finders Get Info window.
Then we set Firefox as the default browser.
Then when we clicked on ASPX links the files downloaded to the disk and when we double clicked them in Firefoxes downloads window they opened in a PDF window inside Firefox.
I hope you get what I'm talking about.
    H.

  • "Unable to open device (read failure)!" message with Samsung

I have a Samsung ML-2510 (fairly new printer) plugged into my Airport Extreme (the latest -g version before the new -n version) and seem to be having problems with printing. After powering up the Airport, the computer will allow one job to print. After that, the print status window gets to "processing job, 7%" then shows "Unable to open device (read failure)!". The only solution to get it printing again is to reset the Airport.
I've tried reinstalling the driver from Samsung.com, changing some wireless settings on the airport, restarting the computer (and printer), and even changing the USB cable. None of the above has worked.
    Any solutions?

I had a similar issue with a ML-2010 after upgrading from 10.4 to 10.5 but using a Linksys wireless router rather than Airports. The steps below worked for me so I hope these are of some help to you as well. I stumbled across these in the Airport for Windows forum.
    1. Opened print/fax pref
    2. Went to + (add printer)
    3. Went to IP and selected HP Jetdirect (not IPP, not LDP)
    4. Determined the IP address for my Belkin wired print server (I determined this from looking in the Windows printer setup on my Windows laptop that printed through the print server to the ML-2010 with no problems. Initially I wasn't sure if the problem was with the print server, the printer or OS 10.5)
    5. Typed the IP address in "Address" back in Fax/print.
    6. Left the "Name" as it appeared.
    7. Print Driver I used was ML-2010 (look in M's), not any Samsung listed driver (in the S's).
    8. I didn't have to reboot anything but I've seen reports that some people had to power cycle their print server and sometimes the printer as well.
    I hope this helps.

Safari has stopped opening certain webpages and says can't connect to server... This started 3 months ago with FB and now randomly with another site... all other sites are fine.. Help?
I've tried resetting safari, deleting all webpage data and setting time/date to automatic, but no such luck.
The message that comes up is: "Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server 'Facebook' "
I'd be genuinely impressed if anyone were to actually work out what was wrong.

    Hi ..
Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • While opening certain webpages ,the cursor flicker and disappear eventually !

while opening cetain webpages in tabs the cursor flickers, it disappers eventually within the browser page !

Some web sites may make changes in how the browser displayed their
page. But if you are saying this is an on and off problem on the same
    page, then it could be something else. Try this out;
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache
    Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar. Then;
'''Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: Clear Now'''
    and
    * Remove Cookies
Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar. Then '''Tools > Options > Privacy.'''
Under '''History''', select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings'''.
There is a button on the right side called '''Show Cookies'''.
If there is still a problem,
    '''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]''''' {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
Press the '''<Alt>''' or '''<F10>''' key to bring up the tool bar.. Then
    '''Tools > Options > Advanced > General.'''
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

Safari will not open any webpages. I can hit home page and nothing happens.
I click on a bookmarked page nothing happens.

    Hello,
What version of Safari are you using?
If 3.0.4, check the contents of these folders:
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/Input Managers/
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/Application Support/
    /Library/Input Managers/
    /Library/Application Support/
If there is anything in them, drag the contents onto your Desktop and retry.

Not a virus, but it is malware: The Safe Mac » Search Results » adware removal.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using Dr.Web Light from the App Store. It's free, and since it's from the App Store, it won't destabilize the system. If you prefer one of the better known commercial products, then Thomas recommends using Sophos.(Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.) If you already use Sophos, then be aware of this if you are using Mavericks: OS X Mavericks- Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause unexpected restarts
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.
