Issues with PXE installing "rebooting"

I am having this issue, and I am getting confused.
I am able to F12 into PXE, and this loads the PXE Client, with no issue, but then it gets to the ConfigManager Screen "the first white screen" it reboots back to the beginning.
I have check all my settings, and I have also press F8, to check to see if I have a IP Address, and here I discovered I had none, so I download "I think I have the right drivers" and install them
recording to VMware Workstation, I have a        Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection
and here is also my SMSPXE Log.        https://www.dropbox.com/s/d72eww8y4qs87uz/SMSPXE%2031-02-2014.log
can someone please help me, as I am pulling my hair out.

this is the question, I think I have as I when to the intel website and downloaded the DOS ROM drivers
PXE ROM code
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
and when I try and inport the drivers I am informed
that it see's the INF files for both Pro100 \ Pro1000 Drivers Oemsetuo.inf
but then I try to import them I am informed
\\win08-sccm\Source\Drivers\PXE DRIVERS\Dos\PRO100\DOS\oemsetup.inf
- The selected file is not a valid Windows device driver.
\\win08-sccm\Source\Drivers\PXE DRIVERS\Dos\PRO1000\DOS\oemsetup.inf - The selected file is not a valid Windows
device driver.
Add drivers to the following packages:
VMWare Drivers
Packages will be updated on distribution points.
so I spoke to a friend to whom informed me that this is a know issue and that I can use the windows 8.1 drivers for the PXE Book, so I download the drivers and inport them with no issues, but the PXE boot still does work.
Windows 8.1 Drivers =
 Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Driver
the win 8.1 drivers go's on with no issues, but the PXE Boot still don't work.

Hello guys I'm having some issues with PXE booting on my DP.
I've installed them on a single server with SCCM installed and using it as a DP.

  • Widgets issues with recent install of Mountain Lion on my iMac.

Since installing Mountain Lion my screen periodically locks up an shifts to the right. I noticed along the left a charcoal background with large dot pattern was showing while the screen was shifted and locked to the right. Then a few times the widgets screen popped up on its own and I realized the background matched what I was seeing when the lock ups happen (I have never used the widgets). So it appears the Widgets screen keeps trying to launch spontainiously. I did notice the Fetch widget had an alert on it and with some investigation found that Fetch Works no longer had a widget for Mountain Lion, so I just deleted it. This I thought fixed the bug but now today the shifting and locking up has started again.  I did take the machine in to have a Genius run a diagnostic because of the hard drive issue with the iMacs but he said all looked fine and reinstalled Mountain Lion while I was there to see if that helped.. but it did not. Has anyone else run into this? If so, were you able to fix it? it actually just happened twice while I was typing this and I had to sit and wait for it to not be locked up so I could complete...

You can use the Mountain Lion USB disk that you created or you can press Command and R keys on boot, but it will download OS X Mountain Lion from the Internet

  • Problem with PXE install of T500

At my firm we have got a T500 for test and we are trying to make it run with our PXE environment.
We run PXE boot with Dos, and get a failure upon unattended installation of XP, something like "The Installation has run out of memory, and can not continue" roughly translated from danish.
We already have about 12 different machines in our setup, like T43, T60, T61 and they all run flawlessly in our setup. However this T500 kills the installation right after copying files to the partitioned harddrive.
We had this problem before and had to trim down bios functions to get enough memory free for the installation. But what can we trim on the bios of the T500? (type 2241-CTO)
Hope to get a fast reply
    Kind regards

Disable Intel ATM from bios. This should free some memory.

  • Issues with recently installed quicktime

I will admit having the occassional crashing issue with premiere, but since in installed the newest version of quicktime (I believe it's 7.4) premiere holds out for about an HOUR maybe! if I'm lucky, usually if i attempt anything audio editing, it crashes and I'm back to square one.
it seems to hold for exporting files (through the media encoder or to AVI) but the second one attempts to do any editing, extending or shortening clips, down it goes with that lovely "Premiere has experienced an unknown error and will attempt to save your project" (Which it doesn't).
Given I'm working with a large project it is annoying for the 20 minute pause for it to re-load, only to have it go down a few minutes later.
    It doesn't matter the scene/sequence I'm editing.
I do need quicktime for some of the projects I'm working on right now, but if it's the cause of this issue...I'm not sure sure it's viable.
I've uninstalled it, and I'm going to give it a run for the night see if that helps, but if it doesn't, any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    H.R. Crystal

Thanks Jon. I'm going to go download and install 6.5.2 now.
I JUST LOVE! how everyone tells you to have the most up to date Quicktime, but ack! seems to cause issues.
I'll see if this fixes my issues.
Appreciated the note on the version.

  • Peculiar Timing Issue With PxE In Nexus Environment

I have seen some peculiar behavior doing PxE builds. I wanted to pick the brain of some experienced network engineers as my research on the internet shows there is a ton of contradictory opinions / philosophies.
    Here is the setup:
    1. HP SL4540 Servers with a Broadcom Copper/RJ-45 10Gbe Cards with PxE enabled.
    2. Connected to Nexus 2232 10G Copper/RJ-45 edge switches going back to a Nexus 5596 aggregation layer.
    3. IP helpers services are enabled on the 2232 so that DHCP and PxE requests are forwarded to a specific IP address.
    4. Both the Switch Port & NIC Port are set to auto-negotiate.
    Problem:
With the solution fully configured, the servers still fail to either find the DHCP / PxE server or make initial contact but never complete the handshake process. The peculiar thing is that we sometimes will see this late at night. We break for sleep and wake up in the morning and the servers are fine and ready to load an OS. There is some type timing phenomenon going on in the background and given enough time they eventually find this timing window and move forward.
I’ve read dozens of articles now and I have found some experts pointing to potential causes but then others refuting the same ones. Here are the preliminary ones I found.
    1. With NIC and Switch Port set to auto-negotiate the negotiation process is taking longer than the PxE request process cycle which seems to be pretty short (10 to 15 seconds). I have read tons of conflicting info. Some of it (Citrix, Altiris, VMWare) saying setting to full duplex will circumvent the negotiation process if it is indeed taking longer than the PxE request process. Other docs say Gigabit Ethernet requires auto-negotiate and wont work without it. What are your thoughts on this ? Is Auto-Negotiate absolutely required for 1G/10G and if not can setting to full duplex potentially help the NIC sync with the switch quicker ? We do have tight control of server and switch so can ensure both are set to whatever we need.
    2. I found a bunch of articles where PxE fails when certain services are active on the switch. The articles showed that these services can cause a long negotiation process to get link, or even allow link but hold packets for a bit as they bring in the new connections. The ones in particular they mentioned were:
    a. Spanning Tree Protocol
    b. Ether Channel
    c. Port Aggregation Protocol
    d. Disabled PortFast Service
What are your thoughts on this ? Are there other services that could have a similar effect ?
    3. Outside these  theories any other reasons one could see why this would happen ? The fact that it eventually “fixes itself” bugs me so I want to find a definitive answer.
Also from the switch side what troubleshooting steps can we take to prove or disprove these theories ? We can pull the switch logs, is there any other things to look for or monitor ? What would we expect to see in the switch log if one of these theories were correct ? Would loading  WireShark and examining packet dumps be of any use here ? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Cisco community. :-)

  • Issues with clean install of Snow Leopard in Leopard MacBook

    Hi all,
This is the sequence of events:
    1) MacBook from 2007, running Leopard.
    2) Got Snow Leopard, did the install on top of the existing OS, just as an "update".
    2) After machine restarts, several issues were detected, apparently all OS related: Finder crashed, Apple Mail didn't even open, etc.
    3) Download software update from Apple.com (for "performance improvement"). Installer itself crashes!! Can't install update.
    4) Decided to go for a clean install with complete restore of hard drive
    5) Put in Snow Leopard DVD, boot from it, erase and format hard drive. Got a "Can´t install... contact the manufacturer" error.
    6) Don't have my original Leopard OS DVDs at hand at the moment, but will try that later.
Question is: to do a clean install, after restoring the hard drive, do I need to install Leopard first, and only after that Snow Leopard?
(I tried installing Leopard from the DVDs of another MacBook (2008), that didn´t work either. I gather it could be small hardware differences, so I'm still hopeful for when I try with my original restore DVDs...)
Any help will be greatly appreciated!! I mean, this is was supposed to be a no-brainer... :-/

See my FAQ*: http://www.macmaps.com/badram.html if there are no peripherals attached. You need a minimum of 1 GB of RAM to install Snow Leopard.
    1. No peripherals. RAM is only what came with original machine. Have 2GB.

    3. You are using the wrong installer disc. For a 2007 machine, only a copy of Snow Leopard which looks like * that does not say Upgrade or DropIn or OEM will work.

Thanks a lot for the input! Greatly appreciated.

  • Re: Satellite U305-S7477 - issue with clean install from recovery disks

Im trying to do a clean OS install of Vista onto a new hard drive, the install runs correctly but at the end, instead of it requesting me to create a user id and password as the machine does at first boot up when new, it shows a login for administrator with a message that the administrator account has been disabled, and another to input a pre-existing user name and password, which I do not have since this is a clean install.
Does Toshiba want me to only run the recovery on top of a pre-existing OS install? That would be quite a limitation, and would prevent one from recovering their machine after a hard drive dies.
Any thoughts? I did look thru the docs for a default password, but if it's there I didn't find it.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello
To be honest your issue is strange to me. The fact is, for operating system installation you can use either Microsoft installations DVD or Toshiba recovery DVD. In both cases when installation is almost done you must enter your username and password (optional). There is no difference at all.
I have done recovery installation many times under WXP and Vista. No difference at all. Username must be entered always and I didnt notice such issue as described in your posting.
So please try to install OS again and be careful with each installations step. All recovery installations images are tested and I cannot imagine Toshibas people can oversight something like this.

  • Issue with default install of SOA suite under Windows

    Hello,
I installed SOA Suite without error, using the defaults of the Basic Installation.
When I start the SOA Suite, it starts up without error, but reports that ASG is Status=Down
When I try to create an Integration Server in JDeveloper, and test it, everything works, with the exception of the ESB Server:Fail, which in the details is listed as:
    ESB Connection, Not Run
Can anyone explain these behaviors (ASG Status=Down and ESB Connection = Not Run)? Are these normal based on not installing products from the Advanced options? I'm in the process of an evaluation and I don't want to go too far down a path if my system is already somewhat broken.
    Thanks.
    --T
    Thank you very much.

The ASG down is normal - it is not causing the other issue you have.
The JDev integration server connection error (ESB not run) is unfamiliar to me. Make sure you have created the Application Server connection properly (choose standalone). The Test Connection button for the Integration Server connection shows you status for the Application Server, the BPEL Server, and the ESB Server - what does it say for each of these?

  • Issue with newly installed harddrive

My original harddrive crashed reacently, the odd thing was that it worked sometimes when I booted, but after a while the system froze again.
I bought a new harddrive which I was able to install macos onto. After a few hours of usage I experienced the same problems with this drive, and now I only get the question mark screen when I boot.
What can the issue be here?
I was at first thinking that the issue was the old harddrive, but now I am thinking that it might be the controller.
Is there a fix for that, or do I need to buy a new computer all together?

The SATA cable may be the cause of the problem.
You can test the hard drive, if you place it in an external enclosure and boot off it while holding the option key at startup.

  • Issues with the install

    Hi, ALL,
I successfully perform an install the system on my laptop.
But now I have 2 issues:
    1. I can't become "root" on the installed system. I tried to enter "solaris" as the password - the one from the DVD - it does not work. I tried to not to enter anything - leave password as blank it does not work. And during the install it didn't ask me to change the "root" password. I did make a user with the password, but I can't do anything system-wise.
    2. This laptop has a Broadcom wireless NIC. - BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY. There is no driver for this NIC. Doing some googling, I see there is a driver for Solaris 10 from Broadcom and there was an effort to use an NDISwrapper with Windows driver on Solaris that is from 5-6 years ago.
Is there any chance to have a working solution right now? Is it possible to try Linux driver from Broadcom's site?
    Thank you.

  • Issues with 2100_WLC's rebooting

We have a number of sites where we have Cisco 21006 Wireless Controllers and a number of 1131 LAP's attached to them.
The units are located on the same physical LAN segment as the WAP's and they are connected directly to the controller.
Over the past three weeks we have had a number of controllers fail by locking up and constantly rebooting.
When on the console of the WLC before it reboots there is an error message that says "Watchdog process has intiated reaper as process cannot be contacted."  then the next message starts "Reaper cleanup started..." and the unit reboots.
No configuration changes have taken place on the WLC's over the past few weeks and no additional kit hsa been installed.
Has anyone had issues like these?
    Thanks

    Hi,
There are many issues looking like this and the message alone doesn't quite link to one issue.
If that's no impact for you, you can try upgrading. Otherwise, deep investigation can be done by opening a TAC case.

    Hey,
It definitely sounds like there maybe some background apps interfering with Dota. Does Dota close out entirely or just minimize (like when using Alt+TAB?). I would definitely try doing a clean boot, then playing once more. If you don't experience the issue any more you may have the cherry pick through your Startup programs and services to see if any are causing this issues. (I would assume any security program that may run a scan would be the first thing to look at).
