Issuing a redirect on View Activity at a BoundedTaskflow (BTF)

I just wanted to find out regarding the redirect option in view activity of the taskflow.
According to the doc:
redirect
Choose true to issue an HTTP redirect for a view activity request.
Now I created a very simple use case. I created one task flow with two view definition.
Then I have created a control flow between the two views to go back and forth.

Issue with implementing bookmarkeble view activity

I am using latest jdev 11g from otn and here is the scenario:
i have two jspx pages in the adfc-config name product list and view product.
On ProductList.jspx a bounded tf is dropped a region and it displays a list of products in the system. Clicking on a project subject navigates to the ViewProduct.jspx showing the selected product details. To implement this i created a set action listener on the product tiltles and set from= #{row.productId} to= #{requestScope.productId}
On the ViewProduct.jspx the bookmareble property is true and the method specified is myBean.setPage() .
Now, if i use the url http://myapp/faces/ViewProduct?productId=101 i can see setPage method is called. However, if i navigate from ProductList page to ViewProduct this method is not called. As method is not called so my page does not render properly due to some of missing initialization.
any advise please

I do not know (yet) exactly what the bookmarkable property does for a page, but I would assume it is related to the url, and whether or not people can bookmark it.
I do not see how this would relate to your code not getting initialized unless you show us your code...
(Also are you getting any errors? It did not sound like it.)
If I am off-base, then I appologize. I certainly have a lot to learn (that is why I just started reading Frank and Lynn's new book :-)

Performance issue with a Custom view

I am pretty new to performance tuning and facing a performance issue with a custom view.
Execution time for view query is good but as soon as I append a where caluse to view query ,the execution time increases.

I have forced an index to avoid Full table scan on OKC_K_LINES_TL and suppressed an index on CSI_item_instances.instance id to make the view query fast.
So when i do select * from XXX_INFO_VIEWit executes in a decent time,But when I try to do
select * from XXX_INFO_VIEW where active_supp_flag='Y' and coverage_type='1'
it takes lot of time.
Execution plan is same for both queries in terms of cost but with WHERE clause Number of bytes increases.

Hi,
You should always try using primary index fields, if not possible then secondary index fields.
Even if you cannot do anything from either of the two then try this,
Use Less distinct fields on the top.
In your case , you can use bukrs ,gjahr ,werks on the top in the where condition..then followed by less distinct values..
Even when you use secondary index if you have 4 fields in your sec index and you are using only two fields from the top then the index is useful only upto that two fields provided they are in sequence.

Issue in redirecting to portal page from SSO login page

HI facing issue while redirecting to portal application from SSO login page.please find below basic details
the application comprises of TAM / Apache / Weblogic, and all the request goes in the same order.
When the application is deployed as portlet, the jsp page some how hard codes the apache host name, that in turn blocks any form submit or Ajax action.
so on successful login the redirection is not happening to required portal page as it includes apache host name in the url consrtucted.
Please suggest me what are the configurations that I need to verify .

Open BI Publisher report using URL View activity

Hi,
i need to call BI Publisher report and I want to use URL View activity (i followed instruction on http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/07/30/customizing-obi-ee-%e2%80%93-go-url-parameters/ but i can't have HTML Form inside af:form)
But parameters on URL View activity are visible and i have to send username and pass..
Is there another way?

Yes, I can put HTML form at top or bottom of page but i wanted to put in panelCollection (because of page design)....

Issue with calling a method activity before page render

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.
I am trying to achieve the approach defined in "1.b. Calling a Method in Backing Bean:" elaborated in the blog - https://blogs.oracle.com/adf/entry/an_epic_question_how_to
As illustrated, I defined a default method activity (binding to a method in managed bean) and a view activity activity in a bounded task flow.
When I launch the application (running the view activity), following error is encountered -

Issue with Windows Photo Viewer: "can't save picture because an unknown error occured"

Hi,
I recently installed Windows 7 RC (Build 7100). I quite often have an issue in Windows Photo Viewer when rotating an image and trying to go to the next picture. It gives me the error "Windows Photo Viewer can't save picture because an unknown error occured".
Seperate from this issue: when I delete a picture in Windows Photo Viewer, it is still in the Windows Explorer overview of files. This did not use to be the case in Windows XP?

In addition, please understand that Nikon RAW images (and most Canon) do not support rotate functionality in Windows Photo Viewer, and thus rotate is
disabled. To rotate those types of images, the user will need to use an image editing program that fully supports their RAW codec.

I am using Win 7 x64 Ultimate RTM and still have this problem (with JPG's dumped from my Nikon to the hard drive). Doesn't do it on every one that I rotate, but still very annoying. Is there a fix?

Bounded task flow not executing in a default view activity.

I am practising Region to Region Interaction between two bounded taskflows in an unbounded task flow.
I will just illustrate the theme:
*Unbounded task flow[ DEfault view activity(view1)]*
view1 contains Bounded task flow task 1 and task2.
task 1 contains fragment frag1 .
task 2 contains fragment frag2. I want to establish communication between task 1 and task2 through contextual events.
I have created managed bean seperately for each bounded taskflow bean1 in task1 and bean2 in task2 which are in session scope that is frag1 vaues are maaped to bean1 and frag 2 values are mapped to bean2.
I completed full flow of creating contextula events and event map too. I was stuck with errror.
So I created an application only with default view activity containg boundsed taskflow and fragments and respective beans without contextual event and event map , so that i can make sure atleast my basicview is executing properl;y. But I failed to have result.

The error logs point to an error in your EL that references the frag1 bean. Firstly, rather than use session scope you must consider using pageFlowScope for your managed bean.

HTTP Communication and View activation error

hi all,
We are using CRM WebUI. We have Product Master screens. In developement environment everything works fine. whee we migrated it to consolidation env i am getting following error.
Not able to understand this error. I get the HTTP Communication error ot the product search page and the Target view activation error when in product creation screen.

Maybe you can have a look in the TX SICF if the BSP component is activated. Just search for the service = BSP application name.

Save and Close button issue in CRM 2013 for Activity Type Appointment

Hi All,
Have come across a strange behavior in CRM 2013 and would like to be sure that it really is an issue which others have encountered too.
Open a Case record, and click on Activity navigation link to see the Open Activity Associated View. Then try creating an Activity of type Meeting and click on
Save & Close button (not just Save). When you refresh the view, the activity might show up. But repeat the same steps and create another Activity of Type Meeting and this activity will not show up. It doesnt show up even in the All Activities
view. Seems like the activity does not get created when using Save and Close button.
This behavior is replicated even on online 30 day trial version. Any inputs?

The problem only occurs when your appointment times clash. "Save and close" just throws the appointment away. "Save" tells you about clash (or perhaps it's just unavailability) and allows you to ignore and continue with the
save.

Issue with redirection using Document ID

Hi All,
I have a library with unique permission set, if a user who does not have access to the library tries to access a URL which has the document id (https://domainname/sites/Test1/_layouts/15/DocIdRedir.aspx?ID=UMZ2EEKCF25S-37-4), it gives the following message
"No documents with the
ID UMZ2EEKCF25S-37-4
were found in this site collection" eventhough the item exist in the site collection. After giving View Only permission level to the user for the library, the DOC ID url gives access denied message as expected but the user get permission to View all the
items in the library
We have built a SP search based solution using DOC ID for redirection to a particular item in the library. It is misleading if it shows
"No document with the ID found".
Please help me on this.

The issue is if a User who does not have permission (Permission is None, have set unique permission level) to access to a Library item with the Document ID, then it gives the message "No
documents with the ID UMZ2EEKCF25S-37-4were
found in this site collection" though the Item exists in the Site/Library. This message is quite misleading since the item actually exists in the Site.
I expect the message to be
"Access denied".
If I give user the permission
"View Items - View
items in lists and documents in document libraries",
then it gives access denied message. If I give the permission "Open Items - View the source of documents with server-side file handlers."
then it actually opens the Item.

Recently I upgraded SCOM 2012 SP1 CU5 to CU6 and facing following issue:
1. New menu item got grayed out that appears upon the right click on Monitoring node(root) under monitoring workspace.
2. When we click Monitoring in the navigation pane, the Monitoring Overview opens, which displays a summary of health states and alerts. if we click any of the numbers in the overview, it is supposed to open a state view of the selected category but
this function does not work now.
3. Views like Active Alerts, Discovered Inventory, Distributed Applications, Task Status, Unix/Linux Computers and Windows Computer do not appear under Monitoring workspace after upgrading to UR6.
Has anyone out there facing such kind of issue? Any help on fixing these issues would be appreciating. Thanks in advance.

Issue in search detail view

Hi,
I have a issue in search screen.
I developed a search screen with parameter. Based on the result, I am viewing the details of a selected record in a separate screen. The below steps I followed
Step : 1
     Search the record based on input parameter.
Step : 2
     Select a record and view it in another jspx.
Step : 3
     Updating a column through database (Back end).
Step : 4
     Return back from detail view page to search page.
Step : 5
     Selecting the same record (Which I choosed in Step 2) and viewing it in detail page.     Now the update value is not reflecting in the screen.
In step 2, findByQuery(String poId) is executing and I can see that query in the log file. But in Step 5 I am not able to see the query in the log file (Since the method itself is not called), its displaying the result from the cache.
Please any one provide solution and where to change and what to change. Excuse me if i asked anything wrongly.

Proformance issue with 'sid generation on activation'

Hi Gurus,
In our BW(NW 2004) system we are using Cognos as reporting tool, due to process chain failure at DSO level we unchecked 'sid generation on activation' and chain running successfully after that.
unchecking will be a performance issue due to generating sid's at run time as per SAP.
My question is as i am using Cognos in place of BEX. what are the possiblities of effecting the performance and alll?

Hi Suresh,
Irrespective of what is the reporting front end you use, if you use this DSO for reporting it would generate the SID values at the runtime which will have huge impact on reporting performance. Just removing the SID generation option would temporarily fix the load issue, with quick activation of DSO but it will affect the most important area reporting performance.
Try to solve the issue with SID generation error while activating at the BW side which could be because of the special character issues and once you fix that your process chains would load fine with a far better performance while reporting on this DSO.

This graphic issue only appears in icon view as you have stated. The workaround was to put everything in list view.
I have been testing for the last week or so, with Icon view after deleting the com.apple.finder.plist. So far it's a lot better.
My MBP [Late 2013] was a dog after the Yosemite upgrade.
I ended up doing a SMC and PRAM reset, my performance is almost back to normal but not as good as when on Mavericks 10.9.5.
I hope Apple releases update 10.10.1 soon.
