ITunes goes really slow in my Sony Vaio VGNAR41S

Hi folks!
Coverflow really goes slow, and music sometimes stop when I typing in other apps like word , that's surprising because my computer suppose to be the high laptop of Sony in Europe, specially designed for multimedia applications (Core 2 Duo, BluRay, HD-Ready, etc).
It's like if Itunes don't use DirectX.
My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium and I haven't problems synchronizing with my Ipod, using Media Center, Windows Media Player etc...
Also, Quicktime doesn't play videos but no matter because I don't use it.
I love iTunes, I think that is the best application for manage your music, podcasts, etc... so i'm very worried about this.
Anyone knows could be the problem?
TIA

I have same problem with my Inspiron 5150, Pentium 4.
iTunes ***** up most of my system memory. I was uploading one of my CD's and could do nothing else because the CPU was at 100%. This only started happening within the last month or two (note ; recent update) and I even tried reinstalling my OS thinking that would help. First thing I put back on was itunes- problem came right back.
P.S> What is "iTunes helper.exe" and "iPodservice.exe"?

  • ITunes Store won't open and iTunes goes incredibly slow when i connect my iPod

Hadn't used iTunes for a while until a few weeks ago. Updated it but now when i try to open the iTunes Store the loading bar gets less than halfway before it gives up and just goes to a blank screen with "iTunes Store" written on it. Also when i connect my iPod it shows up under devices but if i try to click on it everything just goes really slow, no matter how long i leave it it won't bring up the page showing the details of my iPod. I emailed the support people about it but they've been no help at all so far, just wondering if anyone had any advice.

I also have the same problem except when you sync your iPod part. I also just see a blank screen on iTunes Store, even on the home page even if my connection is good. I just had this problem after I updated my Java program on my laptop (because they just released an updated version) so went updated mine. Since then, I only see a blank screen on iTunes, but when you search for a certain app for a game, it will show as normal, but when you go to the Apps tab and scroll down and click Games, it will load up but will only give you a blank screen. What's going on? Please have this fixed ASAP.

  • PS and LR going really slow

Hi There, I have just started using ps and lr today after downloading it. It is going really slow and taking a long to do one thing.
I us a Mac and I keep getting the spinning rainbow ball. I also had an error come up saying 3D features require a minimum of 512mb of vRAM. PS has detected less than that on your system. Updating the diver of your graphics card may resolve the issue. ...
Then it sends me a link to adobe..
What does this mean? Is this causing the slowness? I don't think I am using anything to do with 3D..
    Thank you

  • Time Machine going REALLY slow!

I got my first apple product 3 years ago, and over the years have gotten more attached and I have kept up to date with everything. I decided I needed to backup my new 17" MacBook Pro (sucessing my old White MacBook). So I brought a 1TB Time Capsule, to use for my wireless network AND to backup. So, 4 days ago I set it up and began the Time Machine process before setting up my wireless network. I have 93.54 GB worth of data on my computer, I was up to 64.98 GB a few hours ago, when my MacBook decided to freeze. I was hoping that it would resume the backup when I restarted. But, no hope. I also noticed that my Time Capsule was an amber-orange color and was blinking. I went into Time Machine, it said it was not set up. I did everything. Anyway, I solved that. Now to the problem 3 hours ago I started (again) the backup process. And it is going REALLY slow, its 4.07 GB out of 93.54 GB. Is there any possible way to speed the backup up? thanks!

Are you using 802.11n or 802.11g connection?
If 802.11n, are you using 5GHz ONLY frequences, or are you using the 2.4GHz frequences? 5GHz will give you much (MUCH) faster transfer speeds.
    Time Capsule -> Wireless -> Radio Mode -> 802.11n only (5GHz)
Is your Time Capsule -> Wireless -> Wireless Options -> Multicast Rate -> 24Mbps
    and Transmit Power 100%
But as has been suggested, connect via Ethernet using Gigabit capable cables and you should be able to your initial backup much faster.
Also NOTE: If your initial backup was interrupted such that the Time Machine Sparse Bundle needed to be repaired, a lot of initial time when you restarted your backup could have been spend while fsck was being run against the volume.

  • ITunes is really slow now.

I added about 1500 songs in the past week, and now iTunes is really slow. Whenever I do anything with iTunes I get the colorful wheel. Can I fix this?

is this with iTunes 11.0.3 (the newest update that just came out a week or two ago)?
If so, don't do anything. I think 11.0.3 is a little buggy - I've noticed the spinning beachball too, sometimes clicking things does nothing, and it crashes a lot. I'm expecting/assuming that Apple will have another update out within a few weeks to fix the bugs.
Quitting and restarting iTunes might help, but I wouldn't do anything more than that.

  • Hi my name is Timothy and I have had my iPod Touch 4th Generation 32 GB for about 8 months and when I got it, it was fast but now i updated it to 6.1.6 and it goes really slow i have only used 6.8 GB of space on it and there is 21.7 GB left on it.

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    The try
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • ITunes 7 really slow

    Hi I have this problem...
When I load my iTunes, some 4000 songs, my computer turns out really slow... The specs are good though: 2GB Ram, 3GHz Intel 630, fast s-ata hard drive... Right now my iTunes is synching with my iPod at a ratio of 20 songs an hour, strange because it's via USB2... What can I change to speed up things? Right now I'm starting to get disgusted with iTunes 7, I read somewhere that installing iTunes 6 can help, but I bought myself a new iPod Video and it needs the 7...
    Please help

    Me too!
I have about 5000 songs in the library at the moment and that is just 1/2 if my entire collection.
I'm running on Athlon 64 3600 with 2GB ram and iTumes is on a striped SATA drive so it is NOT my hardware. No other program behaves like it.
When iTunes gets really 'busy' the taskmanager shows the CPU usage to 100% flat! It happens often and especially near the end of a song, it lasts for 10-20 secs. Its very frustrating since I cannot have iTunes running in the background if I am playing a game for example and I am forced to which to winamp.
Here is another example. As I am writing this, I have open
firefox, vmware, iTunes, creative labs mixer and windows explorer. Usage is between 0 and 5%. As soon as I start clicking on items in the iTunes list, effectively just highlighting items, iTunes' cpu usage jumps to between 15% and 30% until I stop clicking!!!! WHY???
If it was not for the clean interface and the need to have it for my iPod, I'd ditch it immediately.
    Please Please fix it!!!!!

  • Why has iTunes gone really slow

  • Updated 4s goes really slow it's spoilt a good phone can I do anything to solve this

HI Iv updated my 4s and it's really slow like when a computer has a virus any help please

No, if it's disabled it's too late, you will need to reset it back to factory defaults : Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support.

  • Itunes 8 Really Slow on import

I have a large music collection (around 500gigs of high quality imports of LPs) and decided to start fresh with itunes 8 and create a new library. For days I thought it was hanging because when I would import even a fraction of the library it would just beachball (and would be reported as not responding)... anyway apparently I just wasn't patient enough. Import on itunes 8 seems to kick off much slower than itunes 7 so it takes a L O N G time for the import to even start to register.
My suggestion if you have a large library, quit everything else, import 1/4 of your library each night before you go to bed and then come back in the morning. If your are lucky your import will have started.
I have my music on an external drive btw. Don't know if that's a factor,

Not a solution, just wanted to add my 2 cents to the thread.
I also just built a Windows 7 64bit, core i7 920 system with 6gigs of ram and a 275GTX Graphics Card (ya i spent way to much much, but this is the top of the line system). It blows away the dual Xenon PowerMac I use at work, expect for one thing. iTunes.
I copied all my music from my old computer (about 120gigs). The copying went fine, only took like 45minutes, but iTunes itself runs just as bad as it did on my p4.
I know the issue is being caused by my huge music library, but guess what, all those songs are also indexed into windows media player and it runs great (instantly boots, and instantly responds) just like every other one of my programs (other than iTunes).
Every new release of iTunes it gets slower. considering 90% of the iTunes user-base is windows users, you think they would hire some decent programmers that would know how to optimize iTunes for large music libraries.
It is, without a doubt, an issue with iTunes and not your PCs, I just hope apple finally gives it's PRIMARY CUSTOMERS some love and fix there broken software. I went mac, I came back, but I do love my iPhone.

  • ITunes deletes Library File on startup (Sony VAIO, Windows 7)

Help needed. My mother has a 1 yr VAIO with Windows 7 and has a consistent problem with iTunes in that the Library file keeps disappearing and hence iTunes shows no music / TV files available to play.
    Scenario is:
    Latest iTunes version installed.
Music / TV files are on C drive
Library build happens correctly first time.
    Shut down iTunes
    Re-launch iTunes
When the program re-launches it places Library file in the 'Waste bin' and creates new temp files in the location (itunes.tmp). It also sometimes creates a new library file which is empty.
These temp files seem to be created on every launch and shut down. I deleted over 500 of them! At present the only solution seems to be to rebuild the file every time.
I never had this on any real issues on other Windows XP machines or my Mac. Have tried re-install. Can't think of any other options.
    thanks.
