ITunes Match playlist titles sync, but none of the song titles show up.

I just activated iTunes Match and all songs and (I assume) playlists were uploaded.   Upon turning it on for my iPhone, everything worked as expected except for playlists.  They all show up, but no songs are in any of them.  I tried turning iMatch off for my iPhone and then turning it back on to force a resync - which it did, but still no songs in my playlists.

Does this iPod have the contents of your library? If so see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Otherwise, depending on the nature of the failure, you may be able to extract the hard drive and recover the media from it. Or you will have to rip your CDs again.
If you'd like access to all your media on any device/computer in future you might consider purchasing a subscription to iTunes Match though personally I just maintain my own backup of my library.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps youshouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • My firefox sync says that it was synced, but none of the data actually shows up.

I used firefox sync to back up all my bookmarks right before I reset to factory settings on my netbook. I've downloaded firefox again and synced it to my old data. It tells me that I've done so correctly and that it's syncing a certain amount of data, however, none of the bookmarks are showing up in my new firefox.

    Hi Melody,
Unfortunately Firefox Sync is not designed as a back up service. Sometimes it can work but it's not guaranteed that your data will be preserved in cases like yours.
In any case, check if you can go back in history on your bookmarks settings by going to "Show all your bookmarks" click on the Start icon at the top of the window. Select "Restore..." and choose a previous version.
    Good luck.

I recently updated and restored my Iphone on a Mac. My music was erased, therefore, I am trying to sync all of the music from my computer into the iPhone, but it says that I need to use the original computer/itunes in order to sync, but it is the same computer and iTunes account. The error reads: The iPhone, "Name" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and a sync with this iTunes library? If I click "Erase and Sync," will it delete my contacts, apps, etc?

  • If I sync my iPhone with another iTunes of the same Apple ID but none of the songs etc, will it wipe my phone?

Hi, my computer died before I could back up any of the songs, tv shows etc from iTunes. However, I do have iTunes from the same Apple ID on other computers, but the don't have anything on them. If I put a new album onto the iTunes on the other computer and then synced my phone with it, will it wipe everything and the only thing that would be left is the album? Or would the album just be added to everything already on there and my phone would not anything?

If you sync to another computer the iPhone will be erased and the content replaced with the selected content of the new computer.
You don't maintain a regular backup copy of your computer?
You can transfer iTunes purchases from your iPhone to a computer from iTunes. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

  • I have 3G I Phone and just got new pc. Have run sync in I tunes but none of the songs, etc are being transferred from the Phone to the new computer. How does one accomplish this?

I have a 3G I Phone and Just got a new PC. Have run a sync in I tunes but none of he songs, etc. in the I phone have transferred over. How does one accomplish this taks?

Only iTunes purchases may copy over via File > Transfer Purchases - otherwise syncing is one way, from the computer to the device. To get the rest of your music/films etc onto the new computer you can copy the backup from your old computer onto the new one and then load them into iTunes

  • HELP!  My ipod shows up in itunes but none of the songs show up.

I need HELP. I just restored my ipod mini and manually put my songs from home onto my ipod. Everything worked great. I took my ipod to my work to download a few podcast and when I connect it to the computer, Itunes opens and recognizes my ipod. BUT there are no songs listed under Device/Ipod/Music etc. I can drag and drop a podcast to the music file and it acts as tho it transfers fine and shows up in the music file. When I disconnect and try to find it on my ipod it is not there. Why don't my songs (384 songs on my ipod)show up under Device/Ipod/Music ???? I have spent half the day trying to check the support and no one seems to have this problem. I am not able to update the playlist or anything. It recongizes my ipod but not anything on it. I am baffled. Please Help! Thanks

  • I preordered an album but not all the songs are showing up. They say purchased but wont go into my itunes library or onto my iphone. Please help.

They say purchased but wont go into my itunes library or onto my iphone. Please help.

    Hey there aussieboss123,
It sounds like you are wanting to download an album that you pre ordered, not all the songs are downloading. First, use this section of the following article to see if the tracks download:
    Download a pre-ordered item
When a pre-ordered item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know that you can download your pre-order.
If you enabled the option to automatically download prepurchased content in iTunes, then your pre-ordered content may already be in your library. If not, click the download link provided in your email notification, and your pre-ordered content will begin to download. You can also use the Check for Available Downloads feature in iTunes on your computer (choose Store > Check for Available Downloads) to begin downloading your pre-order.
    iTunes Store: About pre-orders

If it does not, I would use the following article to report a problem with the purchase to the iTunes Store support directly:

  • I just got a new computer. I downloaded Itunes. I want to put my songs on my new computer from my iphone 4S. It will let me back up my phone on the computer, but none of my songs are showing up. How do i get them on my new computer?

Help. my whole story is pretty much my question. I've tried everything.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
iOS- How to transfer or sync content to your computer
iTunes Store- Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
If you have non-purchased content then you need to use third-party software to transfer it to your iTunes Library - Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac.

  • When I connect to the iTunes store, I see that it has loaded, but none of the albums are showing.

I connect. I can tell that the page has loaded according to the status bar at the top of the page, but nothing shows up. Just a blank screen. When i click on different tabs, the status bar changes, showing that it is working, but nothing shows up!

  • HT203167 the only items showing up in my "Purchased" section are the songs i've purchased since i got a new phone but none of the songs i purchased on my old phone (which used the same apple ID). how do i get this stuff back?

these songs were bought using my old iPhone/on an old computer so it isn't possible for me to copy the files to another device. how do i find them?

    Hello jaggerseyes
I would check the purchase history to see the purchases. If you have any further questions about it, there is another article that will assist with getting back those purchases resolved.
On a computer with iTunes installed, click purchase history to have iTunes open and display your purchase history. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and password.

  • Apple TV ( 2&3) - iTunes Match playlist issue

After the latest firmware update none of my ATVs (3 of, 2 ATV2 and 1 ATV3) allow my ITunes Match playlists to be selected using either the ATV remote or iPhone Remote App. When playlists are selected the ATV appears to reset (white LED flashes and connection to iPhone dropped). It is however possible to access playlists successfully using the iPad Remote App??? This ***** as I have my music library stored in the cloud and regularly played music via the ATVs, my son had some of his own playlists which he now gets upset he can't access. Come on Apple sort this out , your loyal customers are getting frustrated by your one step forward & another step back software upgrade program.

Thanks for the advice on how to contact apple.....they don't make it easy!!!!!
However you are incorrect, other people have had this problem, search in iTunes- iTunes Match- discussions for "ITunes crashes when loading playlists on Apple TV".
Interestingly my ATV had an update tonight ( looks like a roll back to me) as the crashing problem has cleared but the previous issue I was having ( and had not reported yet) has reoccurred. The problem is that I have many playlists in ITunes and subsequently in Match however my ATV only shows the first 24 - again frustrating and similarly you can access all the playlists if you connect with iPad remote App but not with the iPhone remote app??
