Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)? -
I am usually pretty good in solving my own problems, but this is one is taking me back. My computer and itunes will not reconize my ipod. Itunes is telling me that I need to restore it factory settings. When I try to dwnloads and extracts then it stops or freezes and I get error codes 42408 or ? error 14. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything. I've even had support send me hyperlinks to remove old apple & itunes programs. Can anyone assist me? My itunes won't work on my Windows 7 anymore. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled SEVERAL times, but to no avail. It consistantly freezes, won't open or doesn't work correctly. The only way I can get it to close anymore is to go to the task manager and 'end process' itunes. I do get an error at the beginning saying " the registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install itunes." I have searched the internet for possible fixes to no avail. Please help...anyone!
Lets see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working? -
I cannot open emails in my university's Outlook Web App. I cannot re-open Firefox after I exit because it doesn't really close down (parts still in Task Manager which I have to end before firefox reopens.). So, my Mac OS recently crashed. I installed the newest OS after reviewing the problem at an Apple store. The Mac works fine now but Photoshop refuses to open. When I open it, it comes up with this error message:

I have Windows 7 and my iTunes mysteriously stopped working. The loading sign (little blue circle next to the mouse) came up but nothing would happen. So I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Except it's the exact same problem. I click on the iTunes Setup shortcut and, again, nothing happens. I've uninstalled everything to do with Apple (Quicktime, Bonjour etc.) and have made sure that when I download the program again, it's set for Windows 7. I've also tried restoring my computer to a previous date, when iTunes did work, but it was the same thing! Nothing happens. IE works just fine and I'm able to download other things from the internet, all except for iTunes.
Are you re-installing Itunes 10.4? If you search around the discussion you'll see lots people are having issues with 10.4, including myself, probably best to go down to 10.3 until Apple fixes the issues with 10.4.
