IView read another iView's profile.

I have two iViews derived from the same PortalComponent, but have been set different set values for the profiles.
When I added both of the iViews to the same page, one iView reads another iView's profile. Most of the time both of them use the same value from one profile, but which profile it is used is undertermined. If I keep refreshing the page, I can see which profile the two iView choose to use is random.
The expected behavior should be each iView only uses its own profile.
My EP's version is:
J2EE Engine 6.40 PatchLevel 87289.311
Portal 6.0.9.0.0
The same code works fine on
J2EE Engine 6.30 PatchLevel 84868.311
Portal 6.4.0.0.200406231750
In my portalapp.xml my profile is define like this:

In my portalcomponent code.
I read profile by :
request.getComponentContext().getProfile().getProperty(paramName));
Can somebody tell me why? Is it a known bug? Did I missed some patch?

If your are lucky, you'll get an answer to such questions on SDN, but anyhow, no official ones. That's the reason why I have suggested to open an OSS message, that's the support channel which should be able to answer officially to this kind of question. Anyhow, you would have to describe the problem in detail, also if the profile or the request is concerned...

There is a note about what build version corresponds to what SP/Patch. Anyhow, "sneak preview EP version 6.4.0.0.200406231750" probably is quite old, it's from 23.06.2004...

where is the ABAP code that populates the left side of the iView (talent data, org assignment, successor for).
note: I found component configuration HRTMC_LP_OIF for component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT, which populates the FPM tabs, but what is the source code (abap component) reponsible for populating the left side of the iview (to the left of FPM)?

You mean write an Enhancement in the Web Dynpro ABAP application (which is not trivial - to me at least - since it relies on FPM) ?
Another idea I got is to set an handler on the ICF service for Web Dynpro ABAP application HRTMC_EMPLOYEE_PROFILE so that the ABAP Proxy is called first and a call to the super Handler (Web Dynpro) is done after.

Open another users exchange profile

In exchange 2007 which we are migrating from, I could log into my workstation with my domain admin account, create a new outlook profile and open up any users mailbox because I have rights to them. This is useful when troubleshooting outlook issues
for users I cannot remote.
Now in exchange 2013, I have to find the users mailbox guid, use it for the servename and set the outlook anywhere settings for it to resolve the username. But even after that, when I try to open the outlook profile (under my login) it still is prompting
for username/password. Is it possible in Exchange 2013 to open another users outlook profile like I could in Exchange 2007?

According to your description, there is credential issue when you open Outlook with your own account configured. If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
If yes, I’d like to explain, different from Exchange 2007, all Outlook clients in Exchange 2013 use Outlook Anywhere. And the credential may be caused by the improper Authentication method.
Thus, let’s check if all users come across the same issue.
If yes, we can firstly check the authentication by running the following command:
Get-outlookanywhere |fl

Getting error reading settings with service profile manager. Why and what can I do to solve problem?

Getting "error reading settings" with the service profile manager in Lion server OS. Why and what can I do to solve problem?

I have also had the 'Error reading settings' problem in Profile Manager, despite trying everything in the discussions and clean reinstalls (which work for a little while only).
It seems that various different fixes work for some people but not others; and the underlying cause of the problem has not been resolved.

How to read another ODS in update rules

Hi Experts,
I have to read another ODS to get the QTY field and update the key fig in my cube. I want to write the SQL statement as follows
Select doc_num
          material
          Sum (qty)
From ODS2
        where doc_num = datapackage-doc_num
            and material = datapackage-material
Group by
        doc num
        material.
In ODS2 the data is at the item level and that is why we need to sum it up. Could someone please send the exact code that I need to write in the update rules.

Hi Reddy,
Edit the update rules,find the key figure for which you dont want the currency translation and change the translation to "No currency Translation".Then activate the update rules.This will probably resolve your problem.

Read Iview component profile from Portal Service

Is there any way this can be done?

We have a situation where we need to define application parameters that is to be accessed across different iviews and a portal service. These application parameters can be modified by content administrators if it's at an iview level. We are trying to see if this can be done without the use of system landscapes which is available only to System administrators.

I think you might have using SICF to test web service.
To test the same you need J2EE instance.
go to transaction
WSADMIN ->administrative settings and enter the j2ee server address (http://server.domain.com:port) and then click on your service and click test.
if you dont have a j2ee instance, you can use some free third party tools to test your WS.
goto this URL to get webservice studio.
It might be also due to one of the meta data connections are not working.
Please configure all ur _MetaData Jco connections with a User name and Password and test. Please dont use SAP Logon Ticket for _MetaData connections.

Disable iView "Skills Profile" under "Career and Job"

I would like to disable the Skills Profile iview under "Career and Job" in ESS since we will not be using this functionality. How can I accomplish this? We would like the entire section:

Why does my CPU speed read "O" in System Profiler?

My System Profiler reads "O" for CPU speed, even though I have a 1.8GHz Giga Designs upgrade.
The computer runs fine, it just really bothers me...
Though I have heard of people having trouble running certain software when this problem occurs. By the way, I have reset the PRAM, and inserted a new battery as well, problem persists.

Besides, please check the registry path below to see if the path is right.

If the above is ok, I recommend you check the installation of Office 2013: Click-to-Run or MSI. If it is Click-to-Run, I recommend you switch to use an MSI-based Office edition to check the result. For more details about this, you can refer to

PDFs not created using Acrobat fail to read in PB20 short profile

In our ECC system, when trying to read an applicant resume in PB20 (Short Profile->ArchiveLink Object Hit List), we get an error when trying to load someone's resume in which the resume that is saved as a PDF but created in something other than Acrobat (Example: MS Word-->Save as PDF):
In SDV--> "The file is damaged and could not be repaired"
Can anyone offer any suggestions as how to fix this?

Well, I tried a quick test of the Save As Excel and also Word and the conversion replaces hyphens with bullets; -$20,083.86 becomes •$20,083.86 and 18-JUN-2013 becomes 18•JUN•2013
I can work with this if I have to, but it certainly is a cludgy approach.
Do you happen to know if there's a routine in the VB-accessible SDK that allows me to fetch a block of text without any parsing by the SDK? That is, if I could read the contents of the PDF as a stream of characters and do my own parsing, perhaps I could see the hyphens.

During Foreach read another foreach - PLZ HELP!

I have a foreach which opens a URL from URLListl.txt and doing a
Measure-command on them. The result from Measure-command writes to event-log.
In another text file i have country list, like:

and so on....
I want in write eventlogs Message to read from this Text file and write it with the Measure-command result in Message part of the eventlog.

How to release and read another external file

My vi is set to read an external file (a previously collected force plate signal), then perform a string of analyses on it and finally save the analytical output. Currently, "Read from measurement file" is outside the while loop containing all of my analysis.
Without completely restarting the vi, I would like to be able to release the file and load another. How might I do this?

I would do several things to clean up the block diagram.
whenever you have multiple outputs that are related to each other (PF, F100, F150, F200, F250, etc...) or all of the RFDs and Impulses, you can bundle them together and then display them with one big cluster, or as an array, if that makes sense. This will reduce your total number of outputs and maybe improve organizaiton.
If you have a seqeunce of functions that go together, you can combine them into a SubVI to save blockdiagram space and making things more logical.
If you have several places where the same sort of function is being done, (for example, you have Extract-Statistics-Formula several times and Extract-Integral-Statisics several times) you can make this into a sub-VI and then loop through it. That way you can execute the function multiple times (with slight changes on each loop), but you only have to have the code written once. It also makes it much easier to improve the code because you only have to make one change instead of four.
The attached VI shows two ways of doing something. On the left is your code, which is four sets of the same thing. On the right, I've taken this code and put it into a loop so it does the same thing four times.

Su command: Terminal does not read root's bash profile.

When I enter the su command to gain root access, the user id changes to root but it does not seem to read the .bashrc file in the root directory. One symptom is that the prompt symbol remains '$' rather than changing to '#'
If I enter the bash command after entering the su command, it appears to read root's .bashrc file.
I seem to recall reading something about the location of the profile being changed in Leopard but can't locate the information.

I found that:
su root -c bash
works. I add this as an alis in my user account.
