Jabber client cannot login when primary IMP is unavailable

Hi
We have 2 x IMP 9.1 servers in cluster and Jabber client running.  Current Jabber client work since we use IMP primary IP for login. When primary IMP server becomes unavailable, Jabber client seems cannot login anymore.
How can we fixed this?

  • Restored client cannot login users

We had to restore one of the 10.4.11 PowerMac G5s in our lab after hard drive problems. The image is the same as what all the other client machines started out with and we used Directory Access to connect to our server's domain. But something's not right. Users with Home folders cannot log in. Is there something on the server that needs to be cleared after restoring a client machine?
    TIA,
    David

    I assume you:
    1. Rebound the Server to Client via Directory Utility
    2. Checked Managed Computer list for record of Computer still being listed via Ethernet ID
    Are you getting which error:
    1. Attempt to login brings up the "AFP users cannot login at this time" Error,
which points to a problem with AFP ( ghost users need to be cleared out,
    AFP services stopped and restarted)
    or
    2. The "network home is unreachable or not able to be accessed at this time" after the
student logs in ( which points to a network issue, possibly DNS or Router related)

  • Cisco Jabber MRA : Cannot login from internet

    Dear all,
I have the following : CUCM 10.5, IM & P 10.5, VCS C 8.2, VCS E 8.2. CUCM, IM & P, VCS C are located in the internal network. VCS E is located in the DMZ. I'm sure that firewall configuration is already opened according to Deployment Guide.
I've checked UC status in VCS C and VCS E, Unified Communications services is active, traversal zone is active.
    Does anybody have any idea?
    Thanks.

I had a look at the jabber logs that were provided and the issue appears to be host name resolution. (atleast in this login attempt)
The client is able to successfully retrieve the collab-edge record for the "telkom.co.id" domain.
    DNS query succeeded for '_collab-edge._tls.telkom.co.id.'
The client then tries to send the get_edge_config to the following address:
    https://ewedge-4-uc-st.telkom.co.id.telkom.co.id:8443/dGVsa29tLmNvLmlk/get_edge_config
What's odd about this is that the request has the domain listed twice. Due to this the login is failing with a "Could not resolve host" error.
    2014-08-19 16:35:47,444 INFO  [0x000025a8] [ls\src\http\CurlAnswerEvaluator.cpp(108)] [csf.httpclient] [http::CurlAnswerEvaluator::curlCodeToResult] - curlCode=[6] error message=[Could not resolve host: ewedge-2-uc-st.telkom.co.id.telkom.co.id] result=[UNRESOLVED_HOST_ERROR]
    2014-08-19 16:35:47,444 ERROR [0x000025a8] [ls\src\http\BasicHttpClientImpl.cpp(382)] [csf.httpclient] [http::executeImpl] - There was an issue performing the call to curl_easy_perform: UNRESOLVED_HOST_ERROR
These logs suggest that there is an error with the collab-edge response. For some reason it's listed with the domain twice. I would double check your collab-edge SRV to see how you have it formatted.
    I hope this helps.

  • Data Services 4.0 client cannot login to CMS

    Hi,
I just installed DS 4.0 on my Windows 7 laptop.  I received the Central Management Server connectivity information from my DS administrator, but I'm not able to connect to it when I launch Designer.  The error message is very generic:  "SDK Failure".
However, I am able to open a Remote Desktop session to the box on which CMS runs and have no problem launching Designer and logging in with the same credentials.
I've tried logging in on my laptop using a port specification as well, but no such luck.  I was thinking maybe the port on which CMS is broadcasting is blocked on our network...and our DS admin is looking into that, but I was wondering if anyone had other ideas.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jorge,
We had to fix the DNS entry for our CMS.  The entry had the correct CMS host name, but the wrong IP address for that server.  This explained why we could not login to the server from another PC by host name, but were able to login once we did a Remote Desktop session to the box itself via the server IP address.
    Hope that helps.

  • Login to Jabber Client (Windows/Mac) with current logged in user account.

We are deploying Jabber Client for Windows and will eventually be deploying for Macintosh.  I have no problem building the thinapp deployment package for the Jabber client.  However, when the thinapp is ran, it always shows the account that was used to initially login to the client and setup the server connection.
Is there a way for the client to use the current logged in user in the sign in field?  I am trying to automate or SSO the process of logging into Jabber.
Any and all ideas, tips, and/or tricks are greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Wes

This is nothing to do with the TC. This is your user issues on the Mac.
I would do a major fix on the computer.. copy your user files to another location.. create a new administrator account.. login with the new admin account and delete the old one. Delete all the files associated with that account, so you are effectively starting with a clean Mac.
I have just sold off a couple of computers and that is how I prepared it for the next person.. it seemed to work easily and removed all my stuff from the computer whilst still giving them full admin access.
Please I am far from expert in doing this kind of stuff in OSX so just look up deleting original user accounts in whatever OS you run.

  • Jabber for Windows Login failed with - "Must change at Next Login" for CUCM Authentication

Jabber for Windows users cannot login when "User Must Change at Next Login" is selected in the CUCM credential Policy
    I found this Bug-ID: CSCuh84476
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuh84476
We use Jabber for Windows 9.7.4!
I just want to know if there are other users have the same problem and which workaround they applied.
I’m currently testing a User with different Policy credentials (Credentials expire after 1 day).
I think this will also lead to a “username or password wrong”-popup but tomorrow I will see it myself ;)
The planed workaround for us will be to set the “User Must Change at Next Login ” option and the users first have to login at UCM-Userpage to change their initial password.
BTW: Maybe somebody from Cisco know when this get fixed?
    Best regards
    Franz

J4W does rely very heavily on DNS, you should at least all required entries to hosts and lmhosts.
How are your servers defined under system -> server??
Are you able to log into UCMuser page??
Have you properly configured all user/device/line association, and created the necessary service profiles???

  • Access to SSO login when client cannot access port 7777

We have a situation in which some of our users are behind internet firewalls that only allow access to port 80.
I already have the middle tier/portal using port 80 but SSO is using 7777. Is there an easy way to make sign on available via port 80?
IMPORTANT: Both infrastructue and middle tier on are the same windows server.
    Thanks.

    Hi Doung,
    I tried you method and after failed some times i found out;
    inside the dads.conf
    database string : localhost: 1521:ORCL ....
but when you want to loggin on your web browse, you cannot use 1521.
    you need to use 7777
    http://localhost:7777/pls/apex
    it worked!
But I cannot access the admin page as what the manual said use the same method:
    http://localhost:7777/pls/apex_admin
It said the page was not found???????????????
And I don't know how to login to the apex.
I typed in I think the right infromation:
    workspace: orcl
    user name: ADMIN
password: oracle( and I know it is right)
    but I cannot login.
    Andy idea?

  • Cannot login to network account (leopard client and server)

Up until now, I have used local accounts on my leopard server. I want to start experimenting with OD prior to implementing. I created a new user account in the /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 domain, and have bound my leopard client to the server using directory utility. On the login screen, "Network Accounts Available" has a green button to the left of it. When I try and login to the server account, the login window just shakes. At first, I could enter the password and then it would prompt me for a new password. Trying to enter a new password would not allow me to login. I went back to server admin and disabled the "require new password" setting, (as well as the other good security policies)...
I have also reset the password in WGM, and made sure to disable all the security stuff there too...
Lastly, I have deleted the server in directory utility, rebooted, then added it back in, and rebooted again...
I still cannot login to the server account, the login screen just shakes
Does anyone have an idea of what settings and or logs I can check to try and narrow down what is going on?
    Thanks in advance....

to close out the thread, I have working dns on my network, but I did not have dns enabled on my server. I enabled the dns service and entered just the info for my server, then assigned my server and client to use the server's ip addy as the primary dns server. Next, I created the home directory.
Once both steps were done, I was able to log in from my client to my server based account...
FYI-I found a document on afp548.com called "leopard server: advanced setup, rsync backup and automated reporting" that walks you right thru the process...Here is the link, it's a very useful doc....

  • Cannot login via ssh/sftp from certain clients

    Hi Guys,
Strange issue here. I have a machine running 10.7.4 that I want to be able to access via sftp/ssh.
I can login into the machine in terminal using either ssh or sftp.
I cannot however login to the machine from finder via sftp. I am just told the username/password is wrong.
Equally I cannot login to the machine from certain clients on my android phone (the main reason I need sftp)
I can however login from cyberduck on the other machines I have, and from some clients on my android phone.
When a mac is denied access it gives authentication failed as the reason, when a android client is denied access it gives network communtaction issues as its reason for failing, not authentication.
From memory these issues started when smb broke for me in 10.7.3.
Can any one shed any light on this?
    Cheers

  • Cannot login into network accounts when there is no network connectivity

    Hey guys
quick question here if anyone can help.
What has been done: backuped user's home folder, binded the mac to AD, logged in as the user's AD name, copied everything from the backup into the new user's home folder, users can work flawlessly.
What is wrong is when they leave the office, after a few hours they cannot login anymore to their AD username. Is there something i missed?
The network accounts do not appear in system preferences.
    Thanks

On your client machine login screen, type in ">console" (without quotes) in the username field and hit enter. Try and login with your network account username and password. What error messages do you get in console?

  • Jabber - cannot login in Phone Accounts

    Hello All,
I am currently configuring CUPS 8.6.4 to integrate with CUCM 8.6.1 and provide IM and Calls to Jabber Client (version 9.0.5). Note that I do not sync to any active directory, ldap, etc, instead the users are retrieved from CUCM. I am already able to sign into Jabber Client and have chats with other people, however I am unable to make calls. I went into the options and found that I cannot log into the Phone Account (See Attachment).
In CUCM, I have given each user the capability for CUP and CUPC (System > Licensing > Capability Assignment) and all users belongs in Standard CCM End User, Standard CTI Enabled and Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Rollover Mode. All the users have Cisco 6921 Phone and they are associated with their respective devices. I have configured SIP Trunk and activated the required services.
Please help me in this issue
    Thank You

  • Cannot login to network accounts from client computer

Hi. I'm setting up my first OS X Server setup for home use...I'm not creating a very complicated setup, but I've been working through the setup one step at a time.
Right now, I'm just running the DNS, File Sharing, and Open Directory services. I setup a couple of Network User accounts, and I wanted to try using one of the accounts to log in to a Mac client (running Mountain Lion) on the network. When the machine first comes up, I get a message that says 'Network Accounts Unavailable,' and if I try to log in, I get the error message saying 'You are unable to log in to the user account "xxxxx" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred.'
If I stop and restart the Open Directory service, I get the following messages in the Open Directory Log:
    2013-02-15 09:11:01.017801 EST - Unregistered node with name '/LDAPv3/127.0.0.1'
    2013-02-15 09:16:19.139744 EST - Registered subnode with name '/LDAPv3/127.0.0.1'
Not sure if this is the source of the problem, but these are the only messages that are coming up if I turn the Open Directory off and then on again.
If anyone has any experience with this, or any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks!
    If it helps:
Running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2) with Server (v2.2.1)
Client Machine is a VMWare Fusion VM Running Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

On your client machine login screen, type in ">console" (without quotes) in the username field and hit enter. Try and login with your network account username and password. What error messages do you get in console?
